Her brains were splattered across the steps of the police station, her body was black and blue with bruises, her face wasn't even recognisable any more. Her blonde hair was crusted with dried blood, and a hole in the centre of her forehead told me this was done by a professional.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]I searched around the body, and found a red leather purse. I snapped it open, and took a look inside. There was a crumpled packet of smokes, a silver snub-nosed revolver, and a driver's lisence. God knows how she managed to gather enough money to learn to drive.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]It was her alright. Fiona Wilkinson, or "Filthy Fi" as she was more commonly known. She was a hooker from Old Town, a pretty well-known one too. She had been missing for the last few days, none of the girls knew where she had gone. Now she turns up on the police station steps, her brains blown out and her body beaten. The bruises looked old, too. She had been beaten a few days ago.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]I was gonna find the bastard that did this...[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]****. He was dead. A police officer found dead in Old Town, shot four times in the chest, twice in the head. He didn't want to go down. From the spread of the shots, it looked like this had been done by someone who wasn't into doing things efficiently. The shots were placed so that they caused the maximum of pain.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]Everyone knows the girls like to inflict pain.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]This could be real bad for us. If the police start patrolling round here again, the pimps are gonna come back. They didn't treat us right, and we weren't allowed to do **** to them in return. They got off free as a bird, and we got banged up for shooting the asshole.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]I can't let that happen to my girls again.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]----------[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]I remember it as if it was yesterday. The truce between the girls of Old Town and the police still stood, clear as day. The police stay out of Old Town, and let the girls dish out their own brand of justice to any bastard stupid enough to walk into Old Town without money in their hand, as long as the police get free entertainment for their office parties.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]But then a hooker was been found murdered outside the police station, and a police officer was found murdered in Old Town. No-one knows what to believe, who killed who, but one thing is for sure:[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]The truce had been shattered.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]Peace is nothing in Old Town now. The police are patrolling there everyday, arresting girls for the smallest thing, and letting the pimps back in. Now chaos rules Old Town, and that chaos, the anarchy, will soon spread across Sin City.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]Nothing will be the same. We've had riots, fights that have spread, but nothing like this. This will result in full-out war. The girls will not take the abuse from the pimps and other, more violent customers, so they have waged war against the police force, the government and the Mob. The police will do anything they can to protect themselves from the wrath of the hookers, and the Mob wishes only to have control of the city.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]So it is up to the few to find the reason for this war, the murderer of the hooker and the police officer, cause sure as hell its a set-up.[/size][/font]

[b][font=Tahoma][size=2]Background for Sin City:[/size][/font][/b]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]Sin City is a city in the American Northwest. It's given name is Basin City, and it is located some 40 minutes outside of Seattle. It hardly ever rains, but when it does, it pours, and strangely, snow is more common than rain here.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]The cops in Basin City are cowards, most of 'em, or corrupt as they come. There's only a handful of cops in this town that are still honest, so good luck tryin' to run into them.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]During the gold rush, the Roark family, a powerful political family, brought a large number of women to keep the miners happy. These women ended up forming the quarter of town known as Old Town, where the streets are ruled by the prostitutes.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]The main locations of Basin City are as follows:[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2][b]Old Town[/b]-the red-light district, off-limits to police. This is where the prostitutes reside, and it has recently come under the control of one Wendy.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2][b]Sacred Oaks[/b]-this is where the upper-class residents of Basin City live. The suburb lies outside the city, half an hour's drive uphill. There's also a university there, although I've never been there personally.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2][b]Kadie's[/b]-a strip joint/bar, where the most popular girl is Nancy Callahan, and the regular clientele incldues Marv and Dwight McCarthy.[/size][/font]
[font=Tahoma][size=2][b]Basin City Train Station[/b]-this has a direct link to Phoenix.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2][b]The Projects[/b]-the run-down, poor side of Basin City, a tangle of high-rise apartments where crime runs rampant.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2][b]The Farm[/b]-owned by the Roark family, this is located at North Cross and Lennox, and it used to be home to some crazy sociopath called Kevin, until Marv burnt down one of the buildings. Shortly after it was abandoned.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2][b]The Pits[/b]-the tar pits, outside the city, where some dinosaur bones were found once. This is the place you go if you have something you don't want to be found. Notably, Dwight used the tar pits to dispose of the bodies of Jackie Boy and his pals.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]The main organizations in Basin City include the Mob, lead by a mysterious man named Wallenquist, the Roark family, whose power and bloodline is rapidly diminishing, the Old Town Girls, and the working stiffs of Basin city.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]Welcome to Sin City. The biggest thing since Kill Adam, a project in which only the best of the best will be participating. Prove to me that your writing cuts it, and you will be in.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]But beware. This is not going to be a family-friendly RP, not by any means. Death, blood, gore, torture, and many other horrible things will be happening in this RP, so if you have a weak stomach for this kind of thing, then please don't sign up.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]But I will be cutting things down slightly. If you are torturing a character horribly, gruesomely, or if you are killing someone in a disgusting way, then please do not post the details. Instead, only post a suggestion of this action. The same goes for any sexual violence, as I despise that kind of thing, and I think I speak for everyone involved by saying that I don't want graphic descriptions of that kind of thing.[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]This RP will work in a Chapter System, in which only some characters will take part. At the beginning of each chapter, I will post something like this:[/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=2]As this is based on Sin City, it will not run in exact chronological order, but it will be more so than Kill Adam. For instance, we could see a character in later chapters that has been killed in a previous chapter.[/size][/font]

[B]Occupation:[/B] Some say he used to work for the Mob, but the Man in Red has cut all ties and lost all purpose in his life, except the simple purpose of kill or be killed. He's out for blood, so you might as well call him an assassin - hardly an occupation, though, since he never wants money for it. He would probably refer to just be called a Survivor, not that that's really a profession in and of itself.

[B]Organization:[/B] Red's a free agent, and he refuses to take any side but his own.

[B]Personality:[/B] The Man in Red has just one simple goal - survival. And he's a cold-hearted son of a ***** who'll do anything to achieve that goal. He gives no one his love, and keeps his emotions to himself in case they can be played against him. He comes off as cold at first, but if he warms up to you, as much as a man like him can, he's generally a nice guy to be around.

If you don't cross him, that is. Red is always on guard, and always suspicious of anyone's motives. He's calculating, cautious, and ruthless if he needs to be. If he's in a scrap, he won't hesitate to whip out his guns and start 'em blazing, taking out anyone in his way until there's no one left to stop him from doing his business. He has an itchy trigger finger and a hair temper, so its best to keep on his good side.

When he's comfortable, though, Red is amicable enough. He likes a good joke and a good drink, and his smile is as ever-present as his switchblade. When he's in a mood for it, he'll welcome anyone into his bed that shows an interest, but he never lets a relationship last longer than a night or two - too dangerous for his liking. When you form attachments, they can be used against you, after all.

[B]Weaponry:[/B] His prefered weapon is a third-generation Smith & Wesson, the 1076, a 10mm calibur semi-auto loaded with hollow-points for maximum damage. Generally referred to as "overkill," Red prefers to call it "insurance." He also has the more compact Kahr K9 as back-up in case he runs out of ammo or his Smith & Wesson is incapacitated somehow. And, as an added weapon, his switchblade - ten inches in length folded out, half that when concealed. It has a simple steel handle with black leather grip, and a skull-shaped button to open it.

[B]Duty:[/B] The Man in Red just wants to survive, that's all. So, while there's still corruption and still violence, he'll keep taking the causes out until he can finally rest in peace. He's gunning for the Mob Bosses, the Old Town Girls, and anyone else who's starting **** in his town. No one is safe until he is, and he'll make sure he's safe some day, even if it means taking his peace to the grave.
