What should I keep?

I got a boxed set with 10 anime's fairly cheaply and am hoping to sell them on. However, it's not the selling that I want to get underway so quickly, but which one's I should open and keep!

I got Chobits, Serial Experiments Lain, Haibane-Renmei (New Feathers), GunGrave, Lunar Legend Tsukihime, Texhnolyze, The Adventures of Mini-Goddess, Tenchi Muyo, ROD the Tv and Paranoia Agent.

Chobits: I watched and disliked. Why is the lead male so hysterical? He needs Valium. And the pink robot thing should have been destroyed. The soundtrack sounds like music from a porno, but considering that's all they talk about, I found it suitable and was singing the catchy tune in my sleep. Selling it.

Lain: Here's one I've always wanted to watch, and I appreciate the fantastic framing and thought process but I was so bored that I turned it off halfway through the first episode. Does it pick up? Or can someone give me some insight? I pretty much got lost when the girl commits suicide at the very beggining (no need to blank that - it's on the blurb on the DVD).

Mini-Goddess: If I can't sell it, I'll burn it.

Tenchi Muyo: Seen that series, wasn't particularly impressed, selling it.

ROD: Seen the film with The Paper and that Faye-esque femme fatale. I enjoyed it but don't know if I will like this one? The characters on the back look poorly developed and annoying, but is it really worth a shot?

I'm only asking cause each DVD is wrapped, and I don't want to keep unwrapping things I will end up selling - just a presentation issue. On another note, if you're intrested in buying and live in the UK, PM me, I promise these are going cheap.

I highly recommend that you watch Paranoia Agent. It's pretty confusing and extremely surreal, but if you like very involved character-driven stories, thought-provoking mysteries, and a bit of dark humor you'll absolutely love it. Similar to Lain in some ways, but it moves at such a fast pace that I doubt you'd get bored of it.
^^^Im pretty sure this is aganist TOS but I could be wrong.
Yeah, it's kind of borderline. OB isn't a place to find buyers. But since the OP is really asking for advice, this thread is more or less okay, depending on what direction it heads in. I'm going to edit the title in order avoid leaving the wrong impression.

Regarding Lain... if the first episode bored you, get rid of it as fast as you can. If anything, the rest of the series is much slower and more obtuse, with the exception of the very end.

R.O.D the TV is trickier. The gentle pace of the beginning episodes can turn people off, and some find it hard to get used to the new main characters. For whatever it's worth, though, the character development is actually very good. There are some great (and emotionally shocking plot twists) later on, plus more than a few well-done action set pieces. The dub is also quite strong.

Keep Gungrave and Paranoia Agent. Hold onto Tsukihime if you're into vampires, romance and some mystery. It's not a fight-intensive series like Hellsing. If the artwork and the general concept behind the show don't thrill you, it's possible that you'll find it tiresome. It's atmosphere-heavy and can feel slow-paced and/or frustratingly vague.

I want to recommend the heck out of Texhnolyze, but it requires patience. I don't think it's as demanding as Lain; I couldn't really take Lain after a certain point, but I found Texhnolyze interesting throughout. If you're interested in the artistic side of anime, I think you should definitely watch it.

Even so, I feel obligated to warn you that it just may not be to your tastes. There's absolutely no lightness or humor in it. It's dark, desperate, violent, tragic, melancholy, etc. It doesn't play up its tragedy in the same way as something like Saikano, thankfully, but it is completely lacking in happiness or comic relief. There are small moments of grace here and there; that's all. Taken as what it is, I think it's one of the highest-quality series I've ever seen. It's just not for everyone.

EDIT: Gungrave has nothing to do with vampires; Tsukihime is about vampires. Gungrave involves some non-vampire undead stuff, but it's not the heart of the snow. Watch past the misleading first episode before you judge it.
Naw, I'm just posting about the series I have seen and am already definately selling, and just want advice on whether to watch the other's or not.

Edit: I'll look into Paranoia Agent - sounds good. I'm unsure about GunGrave because I'm not too keen on vampire themes?
Keep Gungrave it has nothing to do with vampires. Its one of my top three favorites. The main themes of Gungrave are Family , Friendship, and Loyalty but it contains plenty of action. Grave is also an awesome chacter. Just try the first episode and you will be hooked. As for Paranoia Agent keep it as well. The chacters all suffer from mental disorders and you get to go into their heads and see the world as they do. I used to run home every saturday night and watch it.It can get creepy and confusing but its still great. The first four are probly the best in the series. Dont pass up either of them.

If you wanna make quick bucks, put Chobits up in eBay. I bet it's sheer popularity alone can draw in some 10+ bids. :P Texhnolyze is a definite keeper. It's twisted, haunting and has the loveliest gore fests. Plus, it's easy on the eyes (think: limited range of hues). Perfect for them midnight anime marathons.

Thanks everyone, your replies have been most helpful. The blurbs on the back are really vague, that's why I've been confused about which one's I'd like. Paranoia Agent definately sounds like one I'd like as well as Texhnolyze. I'll watch ROD the TV simply because I loved the 'movie' and Gungrave doesn't seem like my sort of genre but I'll give it a shot (no pun intended ;p).

I'll research some more about Lain, cause it doesn't seem like the sort of show you can just delve into effortlessly.

Tenchi Muyo was what got me hooked on anime, but I haven't seen it in a long long time. If you keep Paranoia Agent, watch it a lot and tell me if there's some deeper meaning to that, because that show just zipped by me. I just plain didn' make sense :animestun
