Ryan ran after the two boys on the roof in the middle of the night. This was crazy, why was he had to handle brats? He pulled out his gun from his jacket as they approached the edge.
?Alright, you crazy Demi-devils. Your under arrest by Time Control.? Ryan paused, that didn?t sound right.
?Okay, Okay let me say that again. Your?.? The boys jumped over the edge.
?Son of a *****.? He looked down the edge to see the car crash as the boys ran off to the sidewalk. He underestimated the boys.
?Come back, you!!? He ducked as a line of flames boomed overhead. He totally forgot that they where elementals. He bounced back up and ran to the other side for the fire excape.
?Chief better pay me extra for this!? He jumped down and ran down the ally. The people at the corner where confused about the crash and the boys. He scanned through to see them dash through another alleyway.
?Son of a *****! Give me a break!? He followed them as he smiled. Dead end. He pointed the gun at them as they slowly turned to him.
?We just want to see our mommy.? Said the blonde-hair one.
?Don?t give me that ****. I have been having a bad day. Just get on the ground.? The black-haired one raised his hands as wind in the area picked up. Clouds gathered through the night as lightning appeared. Grunts echoed as Figures appeared behind him. The living dead.
?They said Elementals! Not Deaders!? He pulled away his stare of the boys and fired at the dead, no effect.
?Fine, time to kick some ***!? He reached back and pulled out his katana as he thrust through the first zombie. He sliced and diced the rest easily as they began to sink into the ground. Rain began to pour over him as he slowly put away his sword and turned around. The boys where gone.
?Son of a *****!!!?

Next Morning

?You can?t catch two little boys?!!? The chief pounded his fist on his giant desk. Ryan rolled his eyes as he took a seat.
?You never said one of them was a Deader!?
?It doesn?t matter! There boys!!?
?One almost burned me!?
?There 8 year old boys!? Ryan grinded his teeth as the chief backed off. Silenced filled the room as both of them cooled off.
?Listen, do you want Jin to take this case.?
?Hell no! Not that jackass.?
?Then I suggest you get going. Them boys are heading back in time. Dark ages.?
?Oh boy. My favorite.?
?Don?t give me crap. You have 3 days. Go.? Ryan turned to leave when Chief stopped him.
?If you can?t do this, I?ll get Jin on the case.?
?Don?t worry. There?ll be in your office in a day.? He gave a short salute and left.

Dark ages

Ryan sliently moved through the trees as he looked out for any signs of the boys. The searching took hours as he gave up and found a trail nearby. It was getting dark as the forest began to come alive. One sound got to him. it was a quiet whisper. He snatched his gun from his jacket as he moved around. It could be one of the natives.
"Over here." He flashed behind him as a tall figure wearing a clock stood before him. Just by looking at him he knew what he was.
"Shit, a Deader." He fired, but the shots where blocked by a mystical barrier. It was one of the Deader's power. Able to use the living dead's power around him to make him stronger. He put away his gun and grabbed his katana.
"Asshole, your going back with me!"
"I'm not here to fight. I'm here to give you a warning. The elementals and deaders are getting stronger. Pretty soon every last one of them will be under our control and we will destroy the time the Dr. was in. The people that helped the Dr. If the Time Control gets in our way. We will take them out."
"Enough talk." Ryan charged him, only to see him vanish.
"Son of a Bitch!!"

OOC: okay, here we go. Elementals/Deaders can start in any time period they want, just post the time above your post. Time Controllers, which are only like two. can hunt down a deader/elemental on a mission. Soon, everyone will meet up in one time period. I will try to figure that out. Starwind, you will need to come the dark ages to meet up with Ryan so the Time Controllers are together in the first place. Okay, have fun.

Don was moving on assignment. He had been orderd to assist agent Ryan, presently on assignment in the middle ages. He wasn't a fan of that paticular time period, but he would just ahve to deal with it. He took up his spot and left for the time period.

He arrived in the small cluterd forest, he was already picking up abnormal activity. One of them were near by, he just had to find them. He pulled out a recorder "This is agent NP3228, Donatello making record entry #119. I've picked up abnormal readings, due south. Agent ryan is believed to have already ingaged the target."

With that said Don ran off for the source of the action. He saw the two figures standing face to face, and without even a thought he pulled out his sword and swung. The target turned quickly and intercepted his attack with it's mystic barrier, this one was a dreader.

While distracted, he nodded to Ryan, who then drew his pistol and fired on the target. He blocked the bullets again, but in doing so his barrier on Dons sword waverd. Don ripped through the barrier, then the targets shoulder. This caused the target to jump clear of the strike to avoid a lethal blow and began to run. Don approached Ryan "Agent Ryan, sorry I'm late. Agent Donatello reporting in. I've been sent as support."

Kain stood looking around the primitive city, he felt at home here but still out of place. The dark ages was what they were called, he came close to dying today but brushed it off like it was nothing important. He made his way to the closest bar and walked in, his dark precense surrounding him as he entered the bar. He sat at the stool and ordered his whiskey, he drank it down in one gulp.

"There hunting us, the damn 8 year olds were right. They are coming for us, good thing we are getting stronger." His encounter with the agent had caused him to re-think any plan he had concocted over the his time. He was saved by the shield the last moment before the bullet and the vanishing trick was risky but worth it. His powers were growing and his memories were coming back to him with every new time. Kain smiled to himself.

"I thought they were lieing to me. So I killed them. Oh well. Now I have them in my army of the undead. Not a total loss." Kain stood up and turned, about to get up when he saw a a squad of men approaching him. He stood up and pulled down his hood and looked down at the men.

"Can I help you?" The men had serious faces, one of them spoke up. He had a scar going from the corner of his eye to the middle of his cheek vertically. His eyes were grey with red hair.

"Yes, by order of our king you are charged with use of witchcraft and will be burned at the stake." Kain rolled his eyes and sighed.

"Well I don't really want to burn so, No." Kain flicked his wrist and the man flew off to the far wall of the bar. The others whipped out their swords and readied themselves, Kain rubbed his head and looked at the other three men.

"I'd really love to play but I must leave." Kain pulled out a small control and hit a few digits on the face of it and vanished the men stood in awe at his disappearence. Kain reappeared in the Dr. lab, he was panting and slightly stumbling. The time traveling effect taking its toll once again. Another person stood in the lab. Kain stepped off of the pad that brought him there and walked over to the other person. It was a women in her mid-twentys, she was shorter then Kain and had brown hair with blue eyes. He looked at her with cold eyes and spoke to her in a vicious tone.

"Find the others, warn them of the danger and tell them to continue what they are doing but they must move faster, after they are finished with controlling their region tell them to meet up back here. If they do not compliy I will kill them myself. Now go!" The women jumped with his tone and ran to the trasporter, she vanished in the bright light and Kain stood in the cold lab by himself. Taking in the silence, he closed his eyes and pointed his face up.

"The plan is slowly coming together. With the rate our powers are growing at we'll be able to execute the plan with eas." Kain remained still, eyes still closed to the world.

Gin looked around the battlefeild, the dead bodies, the weapons everywhere. "Is this where I was born? It seems so familiar, yet so sorrowful." He looked down at the young samurai and frowned. "So, this era is the time of warriors. It is a shame thay all of these yound, and old men alike wasted their lives like this."

He bowed his head at the yound soldier and felt something jab his side. When he grabbed the object, it let out a flash of light, then everything went white. A couple of seconds later he appeared in a room filled with jars of things, giant metal machines. Many things that he had never seen before.

"What is your name boy? Tell me, what are you called? And, do you posess the powers of an elemental or a deader?" Gin turned to see a tall figure in a cloak. His face was hidden, but his aura wasn't.

"Well, I think my name is Gin, Gin Ichimaru. And frankly, I have no idea what an elemental or a deader is. Wow, this is not the war I was just at. Wow, what does that do?" He walked over to a glass jar that had a yellow substance in it.

"I would not touch that if I were you. Its an acid." The figure said, this time he got up and started to walk over twards Gin.

"A what? Whats an acid? Is it like boiling water or something?" Gin laughed as the man nodded.

"Yes of sorts, think water that can eat your skin and bones from under you." The figure looked Gin over closely. "You have the power over wind, do you not?"

Gin looked at him with a confused look, "I do not think it is possible to have power over wind." Gin smiled as the man nodded.

"We shall see. I think I can use you, yes, you look like a strong warrior." The man seemed to smile as he turned away and sat back where he was when Gin first showed up.

"Wow, he is a strange man." Gin said under hid breath.

(I'm starting in ancient Rome?)

Alma wandered about, lost on the paved streets of the Roman capital. After arriving, she had lost her way easily. At least she was out of everyone's way. And it looked like there were no Time Control officers around to worry about?not that she truly understood what they were exactly. Her blank eyes looked about in the evening, it was growing dark rather quickly. Then again, Alma's feel of time wasn't all that reliable.

Not many citizens were up and about any longer, and the girl finally took her eyes off of the ground. She vacantly noted how oddly dressed she was compared to everyone? There was a distant crash of thunder and a bright strike of lightning followed by the rain. A still photo flashed in her mind, almost too quickly to process. With a rare hint of life in her expression she muttered, "This isn't it?but where? When?"

She was broke out of her thoughts by the appearance of another woman, looking terrified out of her mind. Alma turned slowly to look at her with her head tilted to the one side. "Come on, I've been given orders to tell everyone to hurry up and get back to the lab. Why did I let you leave again?" she talked hurriedly, as if her life was in danger.

"Because you wanted to get rid of me for a while? Because if I found some of my memories I wouldn't be so useless?" Alma stated unemotionally. The other woman just sighed, and was on her way again.

"Should I go?" Alma asked herself quietly before sighing and heading off herself back to the lab. Once arriving she saw Kain just standing there, and made an unconscious thought to stay out of his way as she quietly took her place in a corner of the room. She was dead scared of him.

Kain remained in his seat, looking over the two that had been brought to him. He pulled off his hood and started to rub his eyes.

'Only bloody two of them, the others better hurry or i'll add them to my collection.' Kain thought to himself as he looked over Gin and Alma from his chair. Alma was familiar to Kain, the last time they met was not on good terms. They left eachother the same way, he got the feeling that she was frightened by Kain. He would use this to his advantage when he needed to.

The other he was not sure about, Gin was not a name he could recall. He could see a certian aura to him, giving away that he might have some control over the element of wind. This was a powerful element no matter what people said, because of its intangibility it could be used to cut down a man without him knowing what hit him. And because of it's amorphus shape it could be crafted into any thing he may need. This was extremly useful along with Alma's akasha abilitys.

'These two are going to be very good for destroying those Time control.' Kain continued to watch them making sure Gin didn't hurt himself with the containers of acids and bases sitting on the shelves. A moment later two more of the Dr. experiments flashed in through the transporter. Kain stood up and approched the two that just came in, what of them was bleeding from the shoulder and the other had a terrified look on his face.

"What happened to him? Why do you both look so scared?" They both were breathing hard, trying to get the words out inbetween the pants.

"Timce control.... they spotted us..... they clipped me with a sword and we ran away as fast as we could." Kain lifted both of them up off the ground and held them against the wall. Alma and Gin watching Kain.

"Did they see you leave the time period?" Kains voice was hard and he had a grusome look in his eyes. The two remained silent.

"Did they?" His tone grew with furosity.

"We don't know. We had to leave right away or risk being taken to their prison." Kain let them go and they dropped to the floor, catching their breath. Kain exhaled heavily and held out his hands to the two.

"Give me your controls." The two looked at eachother then back to Kain. Kain waited a moment before they reached into their pockest and dropped them in his hands. He turned away and placed them back on the desk in the lab. He turned back to the two and looked them over. The two were twins, save for one had blue eyes the other had green and their hair color varied from a dark brown to a light gold. They were shorter then Kain and almost as tall as Gin. Kain sat back down and rubbed his forehead. He grabbed a book off of the Dr.s desk and flipped through it.

A moment later he hit a pictuer in the book that looked familiar, a pictuer of a huge tower with small homes and merchants everywhere on the busy streets. Horses pulled carts and the soldiers looked extremly familiar to Kain. He looked harder and noticed a tall figuer standing amonsgt the soldiers. He looked at the bottom of the page and read what it said out loud.

"An athentic piece of Persian canvas was collected from an art collecter in 1985. It dipicts daily life of the famous city known as Babylon. This also dipicts the life of the soldiers had been before Alexander the Great." Kain closed the book and thought about what he saw.

"I wonder." Kain stood up and grabbed one of the twins, the one with the good shoulder. And pulled him to the transporter.

"You with the bad shoulder. Watch Gin, make sure he doesnt hurt himself with those containers. Alma learn to control your powers, practice on Gin or the other twin if you must but learn control. And teach Gin how to use his if possible. I have a use for both of you." Gin looked at him.

"Where are you going?" Kain looked to Gin.

"To Persia." He hit the digits and the light flashed. Kain and the twin disappeared.

Gin watched them leave then turned back to the new girl, "To Per-wha? Whats Persia?" She sighed then lookedat his cloaths.

"Persia is a country from a long time ago. For some reason, he has remembered something from his past and it has led him to that time period. Tell me something, where are you from? Asia? Japan?" Gin smiled as he set something shinny down.

"I am from Japan. I saw a samurai in the rebel army. We were trying to start a revolution, or something like that. Thats all I remember, well, thats what I was told by someone who said they were related to me. I have no idea." He smiled and sat down in a desk chair. When he tried to turn to her, he jumped up as the chair moved.

"What the hell? It spins, and rolls? What kind of chair is this?" He turned back to Alma with a confused look on his face. She giggled a littel with the expression.

"Its a desk chair. It was made to roll around and swivel. Neat, huh?" She sighed as Gin started to play around with the chair. "Just like a child in a toy store."

"Hey now. Back in my time, we had nothing like this. This is great." He began to laugh as he stopped. "Would you like to take a spin? Its fun." She shook her head then he shrugged. He stood up and then drew his sword and held it out in front of him.

"Well, now what are you doing?" The boy with the hurt shoulder asked, walking twards Gin.

"Well, that hooded guy did not want me to get hurt, so I figure, might as well get a littel practice in before he gets back." His face got serious as he began to swing the sword around with ease.

Alma walked closer to Gin, thinking him a bit strange. "I wouldn't do that?"

"Don't worry, I am skilled enough with this sword for nobody here to get hurt," he replied through fluid movements.

"That's not what I meant," she said moving toward one of the counters next to the samurai and moving the containers farther back. "If you were to break something potentially important?the repercussions of it will not be pretty. For any of us."

As Alma turned around to face Gin, her eyes accidentally met his for a moment, and he jumped in frightened surprise with an alarmed look. "W-what was that? What are you?"

"Sorry, I didn't mean to?I'm an elemental like you. That is what Kain meant when he said to learn to control my abilities. My element is Akasha, or Soul. What is yours?"

"The guy said something about power over wind, but that's ridiculous," he started to laugh but paused. "Right?"

Alma shook her head. "No, he was right?and unless you can use that sword with your wind abilities, it isn't going to be of any importance if I am to get you to learn anything."

"What about what you said about your own control?" Gin asked.

"Practice makes perfect." She stated simply, taking her eyes off on the ground once again to look at the twin with the bad shoulder for a moment as she concentrated. He didn't look her in the eyes so she couldn't tell if she was getting better or not. Alma looked at Gin again. "Are you ready?"

Ryan hit the old tree hard with his fist as him and Don had been searching for hours.
"stupid little kids and their hid and go seek games." Don looked up into the sky at the stars and glanced back down at Ryan.
"Agent Ryan, we should get back to headquaters and discuss this with chief." Ryan stared coldly at Don from aside.
"What?! I ain't going back with no kids in my hands. He'll give this job to Jin." He began to walk south when a transmission came from Don's watch.
"Ryan. We've been ordered by the chief to head out to Dr. mount's lab, seems we have movement inside." Ryan stopped and looked back at Don. Could the brats made a time jump back to the future? If they did, he didn't want Jin at the site.
"Alright, let's jet out."

Present Time

Ryan's face was totally red as the looks of Jin stood before him. His long silver hair stood out at night time.
"What the hell you doin' here??!!"
"What do you think? Elementals and Deaders come back once and a while. I go in and sweep them out." He looked at Don and turned away. "What's this? Need a partner? Can't do your job by yourself?" Ryan reached for his katana, but was stopped by Don's hand.
"I'll give ya a chance. You can go inside first. After about half an hour, I'm coming in." He walked away as him and Don stood infront of the lab. Ruyan swiched hands and pulled out his gun.
"Son of a bitch. I'll go in first. Follow."

Kain and the boy appeared with a flash of light and where in the city of Babylon, well, on the outside of Babylon. Kain's eyes were filled with wonder and amazment as the him looking at the wall brought back memeories he had lost. Combats that were right outside of the wall, the poeple he killed, the mens lives he had taken with his own two hands. He touched the daggers on his waist and remembered how many throats he cut with these two weapons.

"I remember." Kain said quietly to himself, the boy behind him looked at him oddly.

"What did you say?" Kain turned his head to look at the boy. He had a smile on his face.

"I remember everything now. I was a persian warrior. I killed me right where we stand and further out. I was one of the best, I had a small battallion of men I controlled and we were the best. These scars are from a fight with an assassin. He almost killed me, but I got him. I was taken by the doctor the night before we were suppose to go to battle with Alexander the Great. Best of all, I remember how to use these." He drew Kraven and Crushak and spun them lightly in his hands.

"Well thats damn great but what did you bring me here?" Kain suddenly lashed out with his dagger and quickly cut the boys throat. The boy was shocked and tried to speak, but gurgled on his blood and fell on his back. Kain stepped next to him and bent over looking him in the face.

"Why?" The boy got out as the blood drained into his throat.

"Because you and your damn brother undoubtly brought down the damn Time control on us. In their hunt for you and your hastey return they have found the Dr.s lab. You have ruined our hiding place and I have taken your life because you deserve nothing but to be in my undead army. Now die!" Kain quickly took Kraven and stabbed it through the boys face. He pulled it out, covered in the boys blood, a huge hole was left in his head. Kain cleaned the dagger off on the boys clothes and sheathed both of them. He pulled out the control and hit the digits.

"Now to finish off the other one." Kain said as he disappeared in a brilliant light.

Alma raised her hand in a motion of stop, and then looked around alarmed. She played around with a few buttons on a pad in front of a screen to look through the security system. She really didn't have much of an idea on what she was doing, but was shown how to do this by another elemental one time. She glanced at Gin's expression through the corner of her eye. "Wow, what are you doing?" he asked.

"I'm checking something, I have a bad feeling," the girl stated simply before stopping as she found the screen. On it were three figures, two of them in a heated argument. "Time Cops?" she muttered. "Damn?"

She pulled away from the monitor as Kain stepped through off of the pad and immediately crossed over to take care of the boy with the bad shoulder. The girl stopped Gin from saying anything. "If you didn't get it by now, he's in charge," she said evenly. "You mess up in life, you'll probably die. When you die, most likely you'll be serving him in death."

"Now that that's taken care of, what do you have to tell me?" Kain said turning toward the two.

"Bad news, the cops are at the front door. Good news, Gin can use his sword to send like, wind cutters or something from its blade at an opponent?and I don't scare people by accident anymore," Alma finished.

Gin wispered in Alma's ear, "I can? How do know that I can. I have only done it one time before." He looked back at Kain, who only glared at him.

"Just be quiet. I could feel a wind comming off of you, so I am sure you can." Alma said, taking a step back from Kain.

"Gin, are you willing to stay and suprise these three? Are you willing to die if need be?" Kain asked, looking into Gin's eyes.

"Well, I am not sure about that. I only die for reasons that I feel could be important. Like, I would die for my country, for my love, if I had one, and my family." Gin looked at the screen and smiled.

"So, I take it that you will stay?" Kain asked from the expression on Gin's face.

"I want him. That sword. He uses a sword, but by the look of him, he is from this time." Gin turned to Kain who nodded. "Good. Then I will stay to fight him, but no one else. If any others get in the way, I expect one of you two to jump in as well." Gin looked at the guys sword, then looked down at his sword.

"Your are crazy. Very few elementals and deaders have gotten away from the time cops. And the one with the sword, well he is said to be good. At least with a sword." Alma said, looking at the screen.

"Well, since you are supposed to be the leader guy, whatcha think? Would it be ok for me to stay?" Gin asked, a serious look forming on his face as he turned to Kain.

Kain smiled, good to have Gin ready to fight.

"You can stay and do as you wish. Hopefully you will kill all three and we won't have to worry. But first." Kain held out one hand and curled his fingers and raised it slowly, at that moment two undead creatuers rose from the ground ready to serve.

"Look familiar?" Alma looked at them hard, it was hard to tell who one of them was with the hole in his face but she soon realized they were the twins. His tone of voice suddenly turned harsh to the undead.

"Now go and slow them down. Be more helpful then you were alive." The zombies walked slowly away from them, Kain sighed.

"They will do no good, but they will provide enough distraction for you to get a little better Gin. Now keep practicing. And Alma, show me what you can do." Kain stood infront of her and looked her in the eyes.

"I don't know?" Alma started taking one step back.

"Do it," he said simply. She guessed patience was starting to wear thin. Nodding briefly she concentrated, going into a double vision because of the mind's eye that would show her shadows and reflect Kain's fears for him alone to face in full color, sound, and smell. "Just don't kill me for it, please." With a last deep breath she pushed all hindering apprehension away as the vision took it's place.

Kain saw everything any normal would fear, death, tortuer, slavery, slaughters, anything a man would cringe and fall apart from. He smiled as these visions passed his eyes.

"Good, good. Now push. Make the visions more aggressive." Alma hesitated for a moment but concentrated harder. The visions became more horrifying, creatuers unimaginable were tearing apart anything in sight. People were pulled apart like they were tissue paper. Buildings demolished and burning. Kain taunted her more.

"Come on, Scare me!" Almapushed harder and showed him a vision of Babylon, it was burning and his men laid slain across the blood socked battle field. The walls were torn down and Roman soldiers marched through the steets. Alexander the Great was being pulled behind a chariot. Kain saw the devestation and screamed, he put his hand over Alma eyes and pulled away. He held his hand there and took deep breathes, he removed his hand and stood up straight.

"Very good, I was right about your powers strength." Kain sat down in the desk chair and looked at the monitor, he saw his undead servents cut down by the approching Time Control. He smiled wickedly.

"They are coming." Kain stood up, he put his hood up and moved to where he was standing about 10 feet from the doorway.

Ryan stared at the door as he turned to Don.
"Do ya wanna go first?" Don looked at the door and shook his head. Ryan blinked and turned to the door again. He gribbed his gun tightly as he appraoched the door. They needed to light the lab alittle bit better. That Dr. must have like the dark. He moved up and touched the door when the dead rised. He backed off as they looked at him.
"There we go, a deader is here." He fired at the dead as the impact blew them back down on the ground. He pulled out his katana and swiftly cut the first one up in half. The parts disappeared as he glanced at the last one.
"He's mine." He attacked, slicing the head right off the zombie as it too disappeared into the ground.
"They know we're here." Said Don as he scanned the area closely. Ryan, though knew something was up. Was he stalling time? They might have teleported out of the time zone already.
"Let's go." He switched his katana with his gun as he pushed the door open.

Gin watched the door open. "Hi. And what can I do for you guys? I watched you come here on this strange box. It is very neat. I saw you kill those two twins, and then I saw you open the door." He smiled as he put his hand on his hilt.

"Who the hell are you? Are you and elemental, or a deader? If not, speak up." The one who had opened the door had his gun pointed at Gin, and the other one was searching the room for anyone else.

"There is noone else here. I wished to stay and say hello to the one who has the sword." Gin said, a smile crossing his face.

"Wether you say there is noone here or not, it is still better to check so no one popps out of anywhere." The other man lowered his weapon and looked at Gin.

"Can I? I really wish to fight the one with a sword, one on one." Gin took a step twards the leading guy.

"Are you serious, you really want to fight Ryan? He is good with that ya know?" The other guy began to laugh as Gin kept the smile on his face.

"You may say that, but for me to find out for myself, I have to fight him. Back home, it is honorable for a samurai to fight anyone with a sword, if they desire it, if not, then they bring shame to their name. And, I am a person that has only brought honor to my family I have never been defeated in a fight, and it will not start here. Draw your sword, and fight like a warrior." Gin drew his sword as his face went blank. his smile fadded as his sword went out in front of him.

"So, the new on the old. Why should I? This is not the time of the samurai anymore." The one named Ryan said, smiling.

"No, the time is here and now, you must use it wisely, or you will never get it agian." Gin's eyes became glazed over as he charged the one named Ryan.

Alma had left the lab momentarily, secretly glad to have gotten out of there, even if for only a few minutes. She wasn't much of a fighter. Sure she picked up little things here and there, but no match for the cops in her state. Each day that went by, new memories and such filled the place of those lost, easily moldable.

What time was this? Better yet, where? The rubble of a burned down building filled her vision. She could hear and smell the surroundings. Creaking wagons, dusty roads, restless horses, and load chatter floating from saloon across the road. Alma fell to her knees as it all came back in flashes. This was it.

"What is your problem? I thought I told you-oh?" The deader behind her paused in mild curiosity.

"Please forgive me, I don't know what possessed me to come here instead, I-" She stood up slowly. "My memory returned?if it wasn't for the late Dr. I would have killed myself along with those slime?" Alma turned to face Kain as a wicked grin that wasn't her own fleetingly crossed her normally empty expression in remembrance. Bending down once more she picked up an old western 6 shooter half buried among the rubble and twirled it on her forefinger briefly. "Sorry again," Alma said meekly.

Kain looked her over, she seemed to have gained a great confidence boost. He use to look at her and could tell she was cowering in his precense. But now she seemed like his presence only brought comfort instead of fear. He didn't like this, if he lost total control over her then things could get out of hand. He would watch her carfully.

"Well it's good to know you remember now. Since you are the expert of this time I will let you have control of this trip." Kain gestuered for her to take the lead, she walked ahead of him. Kain stood a few feet behind her, watching her closely.

Alma looked back and forth, unsure of where to go first. It was the quiet time of day, relaxing. Most folks were either having a home cooked meal or drinking to the sound of the piano. Out of old habits her sights were on the new Saloon, since the former one had a bit of a difficulty. "This burg's a bit simple compared to other places...but we used to see a lot of action in my day regardless. Used to. Looks even more boring now..."

Kain's slight change in manner made her nervous, usually she just followed him when necessary and carried out whatever orders she was given. 'Well, this is the Ol' American West,' she thought reassuringly to herself. Alma couldn't help but pause outside the steps with one hand on the swinging door and looked back at the Deader questioningly before continuing.

All chatter stopped, more than half the town staring in appall and confusion as poker chips and cards alike scattered on tables and the floor. "Eleanor! You're supposed to be in the bone orchard down yonder!"

"Hobble your lip Clem, you're all roostered up," she said emptily. It slipped her mind that she was supposed to be dead presently. The sheriff shakily raised his revolver along with a few of the other men in the area, but the guns went clattering to the wooden floor with one look at each of them in turn. The area cleared out pretty fast with fright from the brief but imposing scene. There'd be rumours floating around that her ghost was haunting the town or hanging around for some sort of revenge, whatever happened to stick in the telling.

Alma held up two fingers, and the respective number of drinks were placed in front of her at the bar. She passed one over to Kain. "Eleanor?" he asked. She sighed. "Used to be, but I'll stick with Alma. Sort of like a new life. After all, I 'died' in that fire."

Kain looked at her with one eyebrow raised and a blank expression.

"You 'died' in a fire? This is interesting news. I wonder if your body still exists in that graveyard." She looked at him with a mean look.

"Don't you dare use my body for your sick army. There are some places you do not go, even if you are a deader." Kain looked at her seeing if he still could instill fear into her.

"You do not tell me what to do, you follow my orders and if I can use a dead body to serve me I will. You question me again and I will kill you and use your corpse as my personal servant. Got it?" Kain looked at her deeply, avoiding her eyes. She held her stare and didn't back down for several moments, after a time she looked back down to her drink. Kain gulped his down.

'She's growing braver, this could end badly if I really must kill her. She still is very useful in life, lets hope she stays meek for the time being.' He set it down and spoke again in a regular tone.

"Now, tell me more about this fire in your town. And tell me exactly it came to happen and how many died in this blaze." Kain waited for her response.

Alma just stared down at what remained of her drink for a minute before replying, "well?I suppose it was my fault. Everything?" The deader nodded curtly. She finished off her drink as she gathered her thoughts. "Some of my manner and, mostly my speech at times, they ain't very respectable of a young lady in these parts. So I suppose you could imagine the disdain from the other ladies and the treatment from many of the men?"

She closed her eyes, Heaven forbid she left out any important details. It was one thing to maybe see her corpse walking around, a completely other notion to be the walking corpse. "It was the middle of summer around, when everything's all really dry and easy to catch blaze?

Ol' Clem and his group of fellas had decided to try something new and invited me in on their poker game one night. I did a bang-up job, made 'em look like big fools. Stormed out the doors after the blow-up?and met with some outsiders passin' through on their way to California. A storm was setting in, could hear the start of thunder and lightning in the distance.

Sure enough, the fellas walked out and started after to by hook or crook get back at me. They got me in the small alley over by the General Store?Clem struck a match for his smoke, none of them expected a punch aimed at him. We were really close to this barrel of old papers, and it caught. Only a matter of slow-time minutes before much of the building was taken too. People scattered about everywhere, rushing for water and such, mothers hurrying their children to safety.

Things spread quickly, basically claimed most of the entire street here before the rain came down heavy and they started to get an upper hand on the fire. Many of us were in the middle with fire on either side, the smoke and everything making it impossible to tell the way out?One of the fellas yelled out to Clem, I could see him pointing at me, nobody else was near. Of course I turned my tail and ran, only thing I really could do. Ended up back in the Old Saloon where everything started, and went for the spare revolver they always kept behind the bar. Blocked by the fire, I turned around again and part of ceiling came down in front of me.

...That's the last I remember of my life as Eleanor," Alma finished as she hunted through a bunch of clippings on the far side of the room. All right, it was probably more information than needed, but she didn't want to overlook anything that might have been important. Finally locating what she was looking for, the woman skimmed through quickly for the statistical information to read. "Here it is, 34 died."
