Ayokano
So, yesterday I went shopping with the extra money I got for Christmas. And, I decided to buy a game. So I go to game stop, and bought KOF: Maximum Impact and this one skating game called Yanya Caballista: City Skater. I must say, when my brother showed me the game I really liked the art style. It's from Koei, so I gave it a try and bought it. That didn't work out so well. First off, the game comes with a little deck board you click onto your PS2's controller's analog sticks. And, you turn the controller sideways. The problem was that I got it used, and it didn't come with the deck board. So, I played it with my controller sideways, click the L and R analog stick. I must say I probably would had laugh if I saw myself playing it. But, I must admit that I like the cel-shaded anime look. Plus, the story is kind of cute, because it puts you in a role of a skater who must excite cute litle alien evaders who seem to be into skate boarding. But the controls are awkward and too simple. So, have you ever made a bad game buy? Why did you buy the game?
BlueYoshi
I never really make bad decisions when I buy games, because I usually know all about a game I want to buy prior to its release through mags and internet reviews. I guess I usually make those kind of bad decisions when I'm buying DVDs. The one game I was truly dissapointed with despite knowing all about it and being aware of the hype it was under was The Bouncer. That game was nothing like what I thought it would be. It was just a 3D beat 'em up... a poor one at that with a shite story. Seriously, I had much more fun playing Rival Turf and Streets of Rage. Not that they were bad games.

They also promised you could pick up weapons and use the enviroment. That game was a huge dissapoinmment shame on you squaresoft.
Semjaza
I've been tempted to buy Yanya Caballista: City Skater in the past. I knew it got below average reviews, but sometimes I find myself enjoying games despite scores they get. Considering how incredibly cheap it goes for when I see it, I wouldn't really consider it a "bad buy". I guess it depends on how much you spent on it. I don't really buy enough games anymore to be disappointed. I only buy stuff that really, really grabs me and that's only coming out to maybe a dozen games a year... most of which I do not pay full price for. I'm thinking of joining Gamefly or something to rent the others I'd like to try but won't bother buying. $15 a month isn't bad when Blockbuster wants something like $6.99 or $7.99 for a damn game rental. silpheedpilot
A bad buy? Yeah. Try King of Fighters '02/'03. Don't get me wrong I'm THE King of Fighters and I love KOF to the max but '02/'03 was a bad buy because '03 totally destroys '02 in comparison. Its faster, the characters look, sound and just plain are better and Yamazaki doesn't look like a complete and total...Jerk! So I guess in theory I was paying $40 for a game you could play for a quarter!
Ikillion
There is only one game that I can remember that I have always whished I never bought. and that game would be megaman network transmission. That game had the worst boss fights and it was a miracle that I was able to get past the first one. It was only a luck shot..and if you didnt spend just about all of your money on just one chip you would no longer be able to finish. I though when I bought it however it would be a rather fun game since I am addicted to almost all things megaman. However this showed me however there are just some things...which arnt as good.
