kenshinsbabe
Has anyone else seen this movie? A nice, musical love story. It's got a bit of something for everyone, too. Gays and lesbians (nothing graphic), transvestites, and not to mention a good musical score. Of course, I've never seen the stageplay so I really have nothing to compare it to. But in my opinion, it's a pretty good movie. ^-^ My favorite character was Angel.
I almost cried when she died. She was too cool.
So what about you guys?
Lord Rannos
I'm glad somone started this. I saw the movie after hearing my brother tell me how awesome the play was for about half my life. I must say, I wasn't disappointed. I really liked the way Mimi was portrayed as being young and naiive, where Roger was so cynical and jaded. I also felt I could reall identify with Mark, how he really detatches himself from the world. It's sometimes how I feel, that I'm just watching and not really participating. I got the CD from my brother, and I haven't stopped listening to it since I saw the movie. Very good music. ~dq
Esther
Heh. There was more to it than just gays, lesbians, and transvestites. The movie itself was a story of a group of people that live through the oridnary day of a New Yorker. The song that they sang in the beginning of the movie (Seasons Of Love) actually tells the whole entire story... They ask how can you measure a year, and they find out that it's love. Through the move the cast comes across obstacles in their life. Confronting HIV/AID's is one of the biggest. The movie did take a turn that was surprising which was stated above. It was a absolutely brilliant film, I would watch it over and over again. Oh and I was wondering, was the cast in the movie the cast from the actualy play from Broadway?
kenshinsbabe
Actually, I was thinking the same thing a little while ago. My guess is that they all were in the play at one point. Or at least some of them were. And I realize that there are more than gays, lesbians and transvestites. I said those specifically because you don't see 'em in alot of movies. Well, I suppose lately there have been more movies including said groups.
