I think the meaning of life is for life to keep giving you questions so you can answer then to the fullest of your abilities, with out ever finding the answer at all just basicly to give you and understanding to go with.
huh thats a pretty neat POV. Never though of that one yet... :animeknow
>> i think that might be another main point to this besides the "Meaning of Life is to Die."

Hehe, interestingly enough, my friend and I decided to come up with a meaning ourselves one day a couple of years ago. Be aware though that this was just for fun and we had no intention of being serious. We were just bored in math class when we had a sub so we started drawing on the white board.

Really though, I don't have a serious answer to this question. I honestly don't really know where to begin. Then again, I've never really given it extensive thought.

Anyway, just check out the attachment if you'd like to see what my friend and I did that day. You'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open it though. And if it doesn't make any sense, don't worry - it's not supposed to. I originally wasn't even going to post this but I figured, seeing this topic and how most of the responses resulted in death, I had to.

Hehe, well I'm glad you liked it. I did warn that it would make no sense though. And yes, I guess "joke" would be the best way to describe it.

As for your question, I believe the answer speaks for itself... well in a way that makes absolutely no sense anyway.

Edit:
I've been thinking about it and there's really only one question I think needs to be asked. Does there really need to be a set in stone meaning or is it enough that this question can be answered on a person to person basis?

On to the topic: Personally, I believe that life is what you make of it. It can be as interesting or as hopeless as you make it, so it's ultimately silly to be pondering such questions. Not that it's unusual, because everyone who is human wonders about these things from time to time.
Took the words right out of my mouth. My definition of the meaning of life is just to do whatever you can to be happy for as long as you live. Do what you want. No one's guaranteed tomorrow; live life to the fullest. No regrets! *Shrugs* Yes, it's rather cliche', but it's what satisfies.

Unless your icecream has chickens in it, in which case it is not equal to the aforementioned, but rather the squared product of the universal symbol over a portion of the infinite variable Q.

Aside from that, your equations are reasonably accurate. I commend you Petie :p

Anyone ever see Monty Python and the Meaning of life? Well, it's funny. Personally, I think it's important to live life, be good, do want you want, help others. I mean instead of worrying about it as humans have done since forever and honestly has one to define it for evryone and everything been found? No. Everyone is the same yet different. Many different ways of life, beliefs, religion, morals. As in like what's perfect? Different for everyone even though many people believe the same things it's still a big world with over 6 billion people who already don't belive or agree on everything. I don't think there is a meaning. We still look for it I guess to maybe satisfie our own excitence. But really why worry about it? Life could pass you by if you ponder it instead of living it. Like the Rush song " Roll the bones" It says " Why are we here. Because we're here"

I agree we're here because that's how it is. Make the most of. :D

This thread started out strong with quality, and discussion. Let's try to rebuild it back up to that point, and avoid the one setence posting that is somewhat irrelevant to the topic at hand. If this thread continues to spawn these poor quality post, It will be locked. So, let's not let that happen ;D

ugh yeah, this did start out as a fairly good thread. But i guess after receiving different POV's i think this mystery is umm not quite but almost solved??

what am I saying -- there still isn't a definite answer to the meaning of life and I'm almost sure that the people on this forum and I are not going to be able to completely solve this. Hopefully though, we can come as close as we can?

So any other views on this other than
- Meaning of Life is to Die
- I think life is there so we can answer all the questions that are givin to us
- Just live life the way you want to
- Live life to the fullest
- Meaning of life is 42 :animesmil
- Meaning of life.. umm.. something to do with a universal numbey and a joke that deals with pancake, icecream and dog houses.. :animeswea

:animesigh *sigh*

I guess I'll try to save this thread from destruction. :animeswea

Ok, My thoughts are that there really is NO meaning of life. It's like food, pretty much. Everyone has different tastes, and the like.

But if you were to ask me what my meaning of life was, I'd say it was to make the best of the time I have. You have to live by your own code, but hopefully your code doesn't involve death and pollution... I really want to by a great artist so that in the future, people will see something I drew and be like, "Man I want to draw that, good too."

In a way, becoming a renown artist is my way of life as well, proving farther my point that there is no one.

I'm gonna stop now cuz I kinda confused myself a little... :animestun

That's another neat way of seeing things, and great goal too, i haven't thought of mine yet.. :animeswea

anyways, and also in reply to dot. i think that eating, breathing, staying healthy are WAYS to stay alive, not the actual meaning to life. But nonetheless, thanks for replying to this thread.

... oh yeah, and i do somewhat agree to your there is NO meaning to life theory, it works with what i'm thinking of :animesmil
Ya...I wonder that too. Sometimes I think to hard about it and wonder if humans should just kill themselves. We could have been like any other planet and we're already killing ourselves. One day nobody will be left on this planet.
That's a strange thought. One day, there will be nothing left to this planet. No life, just a barren wasteland. In the end, either what God said will happen (or what is thought to be true for other religions), or we will all end up killing ourselves one way or another. Global warming, pullution, etc.

The meaning of life... There are so many that make sense. Have fun while you can, make babies and die, live to change, etc.

But I like mine better (which I came up with while reading the other posts :D ).

There is no meaning. We all have different thoughts and opinions on what the meaning is, and since there is no such thing as 'right', there IS no meaning to life.

Heh, did you get what I mean?
