AEGIS X-303
Hi, I am new to the forum and just want to ask a couple of questions. Is this picture "legal" and does not consitute to plagiarism. I just did this in a few minutes and took some screenshots of video and played with it in Photoshop. This is what I can up with. Can I do that? Or do I have to edit it myself. I plan to do it later when I have more time, but was wondering if this is legal. Also I would appreciate some feedback because I hope to submit something like it eventually. I just finished watching the whole series of Gundam Seed and it was just awesome! I got motivated to do something with it. Thanks This is from Gundam Seed, where Miriallia reflects after the war how she lost her boyfriend Tolle.
Retribution
[size=1]Despite the fact that your post does not contain an image (or a link, that I'm aware of), I think it's fine if you played around with a screenshot. If you did the editing and manipulation of official art, I see no problem with that. People will assume that you didn't make the characters, as they are widely known. I look forward to you posting your picture (or helping me find the link).[/size]
Baron Samedi
[QUOTE=AEGIS X-303]http://www.otakuboards.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=25058 [/QUOTE] [size=1]Your use of IMG tags was correct, but the link you used [as above] is invalid. To find an image's true source URL, right click on it and select properties. From what you've said, what you've done is pretty well much a manipulation. I don't know how far you modified it, but the thing is you're probably alright, as long as you don't claim to have drawn the scene from scratch. Most pieces submitted to myO involved official artwork which has been edited in various fashions, and to varying degrees, so I wouldn't fret too much about it. The main concern about the plagiarism thing is copying other people's sketches/artistry and claiming it as your own [either explicitly, or through no acknowledgement of the original creator][/size]
