Judgement
What I'm asking is what type of game is your favorite, like shooters or roleplaying. I just want to hear why you like it too, please.
Riku
Well, not that anyone would care about what I like XD, but my favorite kinds of games would have to be RPG's, adventure and fighting games. I mostly like RPG's, though because they are my most favorite type of games ever. See my avatar and banner? Chrono Cross, an awesome RPG. That game is flipping awesome! Go Serge and Square Enix!!! XD
bellpickle
Action games, for me, mostly because good action games are about pure skill, not what level your weapons are or how many healing items you have. My least favorite genre is Shooters, simply because I really, really suck at them.
Veritas
I love most all games, I really love rpg's though. I just love the feel you can get for your characters in the rpg's like Final Fantasy. The characters are just so well rounded, and the story for the most part is generally good. It just captivates me. I also really like the RPG's like Diablo II and Arcanum, because of the personalization you have controll over. Your character becomes a something of a representation of yourself or who you wish you could be. Action games are fun, its awesome to just sit down run, jump, and cut or shoot anything in your way. I just feel more in the back seat alot of the time with games like this, like I don't really have controll over the story. Strategy games kind of go up with RPG's, my favorite game of all time is Final Fantasy Tatics for PS. You have almost 100% controll in strategy games, and its not just mindless thinking or button mashing, you must think to succeed. something that is satisfying for me, its feels so much better when you plan something out and a goes right. Sports games are great, especially with friends. Though about the only ones I like are Driving(if you consider it a sport), football and snowboarding. Amped has got to be one of the best games to play before you go snowboarding it gets you so pumped up.
Bishi Big
Usually I like all of the types of genres, like I love playing games like DDR or GF/DM, but then I go off and play Super Puzzle Fighter Turbo II. But to say only one, I would have to play RPGs, why, I just find it so much fun making my character the strongest being alive.
Shane12_01
Well I started with shooters and I just cant get enough of them. I also enjoy Fighting games alot but I could only vote for one. Those I just prefer but I enjoy pretty much any game as long as it has a point to it.
Disenchanted
I would defantly have to say shooters are my fave first, like Halo+Halo2, Battlefeild 2, Medal of Honour ect...Then rpgs and Fighter. Most of my games are Shooters (werid ive been told, cause im a chick lol *shrugs* oh well). some of the puzzle elements in rpgs bug me but i still like them. Fighters like Soul Calibur and Dead or Alive are good but can get boring after a while. Shooters are still my fave tho ;) :animesmil Thats what i think anyways. Flame_Alchemist
RPG's are my favourite especially the Final Fantasy series, they are just so well done. But there are a lot of other awesome RPG's too, like the Chrono games. I'm currently playing Xenosaga episode II and Tales of Symphonia and I'm really enjoying them so far. The storylines are obviously an important point to any RPG, as long as it has a good plot and good characters I'll be hooked until i finish the thing, which is not always a good thing (especially if you're up until 5:00am playing it). I think a lot of the most memorable game moments have probably come from RPG's, with plot twists and character death's (all you RPG fans know who I'm talking about). I also love the way that the characters have loads of depth to them, with different backgrounds and personalities. The way they interact with each other always interests me and I believe the most important thing for any RPG is to have good characters that you get attached to. Which is why I love the Final Fantasy series so much I guess, that series has loads of characters that I find interesting, and they also have some pretty cool character designs too. Oh and they are usually very long games so you get your money's worth out of it, as long as I can play it for a good few days I'm happy.
Kanariya
I would say Role Playing, Family, and Fighting. Why? Role Playing. Everyone knows what's coming; Final Fantasy. I am not an ultimate freak when it comes to those games, but they're very enjoyable. I especially like FFVI, because Kefka's such a bad***, and it was interesting from the beginning. Family. I checked this category because I counted Dance Dance Revolution as a family game. My sister, my friends, whoever, we get together sometimes and just play DDR for fun. So I count it as family. And Fighting. Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, you get the picture. I don't kick major butt on those games, but they're fun anyway. As for a genre I absolutely never play, it's Shooting. It's awesome watching someone play a good shooting game, but to be quite honest, I get freaked out when I play those. So shooting wasn't ever in for me.
Dakota
First Person Shooters. I love ones, like Battlefield 2 , Call of Duty , Far Cry , Halflife 2 , Battlefield Vietnam and a few others. I just find them totally engrossing. Some are just pretty straight forward , shoot the enemy save the day etc. but Halflife 2 just brings a new level of immersion and story to it all. I love escapism!. I also enjoy some real time strategy games such as Command and Conquer: Generals and Dawn of War. They offer a different experience but its still quite fufillin building a successful army and taking over the entire map!
Revolut1on
I've always liked fighting games, I guess that's because I started out on them. I also enjoy a good shooting game every now and then. I like arcade shooters such as Time Crisis and Vurtua Cop better than most first person shooters. Nothing can beat holding a guncon in your hand, it really puts you in the game.
