Anime to Games

I was wondering if you could make a game based on your favorite anime(s) or manga(s), would you? And if you did, what( from the show) would you put in it? Would it be a videogame or a board game or maybe both? Please explain why you would do it to and if you think it would be cool.

Example: Full Metal Alchemist already has 2 games out. Anything you would have done to make it better?

A Getbackers fighting game that would rock. Each chacter has their own ability so specials arent a problem.Bans Snake Bite,Ginji going into Lighting Lord, Jackals Bloody Sword. There would also be a huge cast of chacters to play as. That would be a great anime based game. Unfortunly if it was made it would probly suck just like the Bleach Game.

I'm pretty sure there are a few Getbackers games for PS2, but I totally don't know anything about them.

Though, since Bleach was mentioned, I sorta wish they'd crank out something other than fighting games ~_~ cause those get really boring really fast.

In general though, anime based games have all been pretty bad... T_T which is a shame. I do sorta play one of the Evangelion games though (because I'm a huge nerd, hur, hur, hur)

I don't know if they have one out yet, but I think Realbout Highschool would make a great 2-D fighting games. They could use high resolution game sprites like they have in Street Fighter 3 and Guilty Gear X.

They'd have to use the characters from the manga though because there were so many and I loved their character designs....especially G and Taiho.
It could pretty much follow the same story line too...with the Femal Shinsengumi fighting G and his thugs.

All in all the manga has everything a good fighting needs. Some of the characters even look as through they were ripped from a Street Fighter game.

Hmm...I'm not too sure if I'd want a video game for my favorite anime series (peacemaker kurogane) I guess because it's more fun to just watch/read the story then to play it out]

My vote goes for a Rurouni Kenshin fighting style RPG. You know, get to explore Japan, especially Kyoto and Tokyo (being that they play such a big role in the series), fight bad guys from the series... maybe even have kinda like a "super saiyan" sort of thing, where the player's stats increase, and Kenshin could become the Battousai. It would also have little side bonus missions... something really interactive, but also not something that has a story line that totally drags on and on, a good plot, but still alot of action.
I would buy that game today if it existed.

I must agree that a Super Smash Bros type of game would be really interesting to see, and you would be able to have all types of different anime characters duke it out in one shot? That'd be just lovely to play!

yeah... but u kno they've made alot of different anime into video games and alot of them... just kinda suck...like while yeah i have alll 3 InuYasha games b/c i'm a big fan...they really aren't too good...it seems like if they actually spent some more work on them they could be okay. like the first one for PS wasn't even translated out of Japanese...the 2nd one The Secret of the Cursed Mask just looked horrible... and the 3rd one InuYasha Feudal combat isn't good either.... then again that's just my opinion....

I agree, both of the Inu Yasha video games could have been better. I would have liked to see more characters for Feudal Combat, and after beating Cursed Mask I kind of got sick of it.

But in other anime-to-game news, I just baught Naruto:Ninja Council for GBA!!!
I was going to start a new thread for it, but this is a good enough place to put it in. I haven't really played it yet, just for like 5 minutes and I like it allready, you can choose to play as Naruto or Sasuke....
There's more info about this game and other Naruto games comin' to N.America!

Yeah Cursed Mask really was bad it took me a while to finish it b/c it annoyed me to no end...

i saw something about a Naruto game for Nintendo Game Cube on an episode of Cinematech (it's on G4TV) but tis was only in Japan..it kinda reminded me of a DBZ game.

Naruto Ninja Council is an RPG, and it's not only in Japan, because I'm in Canada and I have it....

I baught it for $30 at Walmart.

I believe it would count as an RPG, you get to pick between playing with Naruto or Sasuke, and you go through the levels, and you try to beat what I'm assuming is like a Chuunin exam...I forget what they called it. You fight bad guys and bosses, you can pick up different weapons along the way, you can charge up your chakra and use different jutsu attacks (similar to DBZ) It even has the voices too from the anime. Playing with Naruto was alot of fun, I've allready beaten it, but playing with Sasuke has proven to be a challenge, because he sucks.
But I'm doing my best!
Anyways, it's a game I reccommend. It's lots of fun, and keeps me busy.

From what I saw, only the first pokemon game for the gameboy and this one digimon game for playstation...the rest suck. I think that if they made anymore it would suck also and ruin the show for me.

For the record, Pokemon was a game originally and was then made into an anime. It's just that, in the US, the anime started airing about a week before the games were released. So that's a common misconception.
