Jakehammaren
I didn't think there were many people the boards that liked classical. My hat is off to you. And if you like Beethoven, you should listen to Pachelbel's Cannon In D Major. Amazing song.
Sweet! I guess I'll join the club! I love Classical music. Being an avid true Metal fan, it's kind of hard not to like Classical music, as the two go hand-in-hand. Anyway, the prettiest song I've ever heard has got to be Chainsaw Dismemberment by Mortician! No, but seriously now. I'm gonna have to go with Eternal Wait by Ensiferum. It's not the prettiest song I've ever heard, but it is the first that comes to mind, so I figure it's worth listing here. Lyrics: Over the forgotten sea The voice of an angel is calling for me Somewhere where the mountains collide That's where I'll find my new life I have carried this burden so long for you That nothing but sorrow I feel I have let myself believe That nothing would hurt deeper than truth Never has the wind blown like thousand years ago Everything that I've known has left me on my own Never have I felt the rain fall down like the burning flames All I see is the face of eternal wait I hear your silent cry Lost in the rainy night No reason to live for One reason to die for I am the one who has fallen into the path of shadows And that road never seems to end I am the one who has drowned into the river of tears

Albert Flasher
The Tragically Hip wrote a song back in 1994. It was called Inevitability of Death. It was a tribute to Terry Fox. It's beauitful and thougtful and an overall great tune. Puffy lips glistening skin And everything comes rushing in We don't go to hell memories of us do I get a sense of connectedness Exclusive tight but nothing dangerous We don't go to hell memories of us do And if you go to hell I'll still remember you But I thought you beat the death of (I thought you beat...) inevitability to death just a little bit (I thought you beat...) I though you beat the inevitability (Yeah...) of death to death just a little bit (Yeah...) Terry's gift is forever green It got me up and back on the scene We don't go to hell just our memories do Fantastic gap common space (Fantastic gap common space) Open concept in your smiling face we don't go to hell memories of us do And if you go to hell I'll still remember you
Rhym
I'm gonna have to go with Eternal Wait by Ensiferum.
Curses! You beat me to it, Jake! That was TOTALLY gonna be my choice! Hmmm, in this case, I'd have to go with Deceiver of Fools by Within Temptation. This band in notorious for making very pretty/beautiful songs. Deceiver of Fools He told the tale so many times About the dream not meant to be In a world of the free He plays with your mind As faith for the future faded fast He grows strong with their displeasure It sets him free Deceiver of hearts Deceiver of fools He rules with fear Deceiver of hearts Deceiver of fools He rules again He feeds on fear Poisons the truth To gain their faith To lead the way To a world of decay He rules your heart He will sell your soul to the grave No hesitation he'll make He belongs to the dark Please awake And see the truth He can only be If you believe what he tells you Remember who you are What you stand for And there will always be a way In my heart there is a place In my heart there is a trace Of a small fire burning A sheltering ray shines through this night Although it 's small, it's bright But darkness is lurking He will sell your soul to bitterness and cold Fear him Deceiver of hearts Deceiver of fools He rules with fear Deceiver of hearts Deceiver of fools Shall he rule again? Good stuff. Another very pretty/beautiful/whatever the hell song in my opinion is The Heart Collector by Nevermore. It's a very slow, sad song, the verses of which are acoustic. Then, for the chorus, it slams you with a powerful chord progression in heavy metal electric guitar form. Most excellent. The Heart Collector To see the actor without tears Dark rivers carve the years between the lines of self control In my psychotic karmic fear,I own your tears anyway And I am you and we are not afraid And we won't be here for long The heart collector sings his song that's slowly boiling over Nevermore to feel the pain The heart collector sang And I won't be feeling hollow for so long Nevermore to feel the pain The words fall out like fire Just believe when you can't believe anymore The stage is empty now I hope we hold and cannot allow the corrupt eclectic takes his fatal bow And we won't be here for long The heart collector sings his song again Nevermore to feel the pain The heart collector sang And I won't be feeling hollow for so long Nevermore to feel the pain The words fall out like fire Just believe when you can't believe anymore
2010DigitalBoy
First, there's Leave Melody Counting Fear from Serart. This song doesn't have any actual fathomable lyrics, but it's a pretty song, with great use of a Japanese style guitar. The way the two vocalists sing, and how the melody is played are all great. This is the only song that I will dance to no matter what. ... This song is, like, depressing, and yet I can't help but find it pretty. I mean, it's brilliant! It's... indescribable! El Manana by The Gorillaz Summer don't know me no more Eager man, that's all Summer don't know me He just let me love in my sea Cause I do know, Lord, from you that Just died, yeah I saw that day, Lost my mind Lord, I'll find Maybe in time You'll want to be mine Don't stop the buck when it comes It's the dawn, you'll see Money won't get there Ten years passed tonight You'll flee If you do that, I'll be some To find you I saw that day, Lost my mind Lord, I'll find Maybe in time You'll want to be mine I saw that day, Lost my mind Lord, I'll find Maybe in time You'll want to be mine Maybe in time You'll want to be mine Maybe in time You'll want to be mine
Tyler Koregaten
I didn't think there were many people the boards that liked classical. My hat is off to you. And if you like Beethoven, you should listen to Pachelbel's Cannon In D Major. Amazing song.
I LOVE classical music. It's pretty musch the only musical genre I listen (ot know well, I was bron on a Danish island in the Baltic :animeswea ) I LOVE Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D Major: I perform that with the North German String Quintet all the time. But, I am quite fond of the Flower Duet from Lakme by Massenet, I believe. I also like the Hebrides Overture by Mendelssohn and Liebestraume by Liszt and the Pathetique Piano Sonata by Beethoven and Eine Kleine Nachtmusik by Mozart. About Ludwig van Beethoven's Ninthe Symphony in D Minor, Here's my review: It's absolutely phenomenal! The most emotional part to me is the Fourth Movement. It starts in a lower, more aggressive scale with timpani tremolos and trumpet blasts and then the double-basses playing a very low part followed by more timpani tremolos and trumpet blasts. Then it eventually makes it way to the cello solo playing the Ode to Joy theme we all know and love. After the cello finishes the them, the double-basses, violas, violins, oboes, bassoons, and clarinets join. After the theme is completed that time, the instruments step up 2 and a half steps to G major. After that theme is completed, there comes the full orchestra part. After the theme is completed, it goes back to the opening theme. Then a baritone sings a solo. "O Freunde! Nicht diese Töne! Laßt uns anghemerene, anstimmen" The baritone then sings the theme, accompanied by pizzicato strings and woodwinds. After he finishes the first verse of the theme, the full chorus joins and finishes. Afterward, a quartet of singers sings the first verse in harmony with different text. The chorus finishes the verse. Then, the same quartet sings a new theme with new text. After singing the first verse, the chorus finishes with many repeats. Then the opening theme is heard. There is a slight period of silence until the bassoons play a staccato theme finallt accompanied by flutes, a piccolo, a triange, cymbals, and the brass. After the theme's finished a tenor sings a solo. The men of the chorus then also join. After the theme is finished, We hear about 2 minutes of strings, brass, and woodwind playing an anxious-like melody that concludes with long, arpeggio skips. Afterward, the French horns play a fanfare with woodwinds. At the climax of the fanfare, the strings join in. When that theme finishes we hear the mighty, all known Ode to Joy theme, sang by full chorus along with the full orchestra. After that, the men of the chorus sing a new verse, often being echoed by the women. This takes place for about nine minutes until we hear soloists singing the original text with new music. After a note is held for 6 measures, The strings play a tremolo passage that is molto accelerando (becoming faster and faster) and then full orchestra and chorus. At the end, the chorus slows. After the chorus's last note, the orchestra plays the theme over and over. The finale is a loud timpani roll. The song then ends. I hope you liked my wonderful review. ~ Tyler

Shwa
I like the song "Butterfly" by Mariah Carey, for some reason that song reminds me of something sad (cant put my finger on it) and I mellow out for a while, plus....its a nice and smooth song. Also, I like to sing along to the chorus because I use to be in chorus for a Catholic School and I miss it so much, its fun to sing along :catgirl:

Ryo the Tactician
Pachelbel's Canon is definetly high on my list, and I definetly like Moonlight Sonata too. But the less classical side is more interesting, and if we're speaking in terms of beautiful, it would probably be The Song Of Mana. Such melody. Oh, there's so many other beautiful songs. "Pure Snow" and especially "Wishing for an Eternal Sky" are also very high on my list. There are others, but to try to order them would be a horrid task. And Tyler, you sound like a hardcore band geek. Awesomeness! I play Clarinet and some very basic piano, so it's all good. I would love to play Canon, but it would probably be too difficult for our high school band. I'll be darned if I don't continue into highschool, though. ~RtT
Ai.sAkUrA.chan
Well, i'm not much of a fan of My Chemical Romance, but i thought one of their songs was really pretty, for some odd reason. It's called "Cemetery Drive" it goes: This night Walk the dead In a solitary style And crash the cemetery gates In the dress your husband hates Way down Mark the grave Where the searchlights find us Drinking by the mausoleum door And they found you on the bathroom floor I miss you I miss you so far And the collision of your kiss that made it so hard Back home Off the run Singing songs that make you slit your wrists It isn't that much fun Staring down a loaded gun So I won't stop dying Won't stop lying If you want, I'll keep on crying Did you get what you deserve? Is this what you always want me for? I miss you I miss you so far And the collision of your kiss that made it so hard Way down [8x] I miss you I miss you so far And the collision of your kiss that made it so hard [2x] Way down [9x] that seems like a pretty song to me..

saru-miha
First of all love the sig and all, Alice Nine rocks. But the prettiest song I've ever heard is by far Carnation. It's my favorite. Carnation Janne da Arc yasashii hizashi ni yureteru CAANEESHON chikagoro anata no nukumori kanjimasu. kizukeba anata no egao wa toshioite ima sara osanai wagamama kuyamimasu. A carnation swaying in the gentle sunlight, these days, I feel your warmth. If I notice your smile growing old, now, childishly selfish, I'll mourn. hiraita ARUBUMU no natsukashii omoide tachi to watashi wo tsutsumu no wa itsu no hi mo anata deshita... You were always the one that wrapped the dear memories of this opened album around me... tooku hanarete hajimete kizukimashita. anata no ai ni itoshisa to kamishimeta "arigatou" kono kotoba wo ano hi kara sukoshi otona ni narimashita. demo nazeka anata no mae ja kodomo ni narimasu. itsuitsumademo... Leaving into the distance, I realized for the first time. With the beauty in your love, I reflected on this word "thank you" and because of that day, I became a little bit more of an adult. But without knowing why, before you, I become a child. For a long time... tooku hanarete hajimete kizukimashita. anata no ai ni itoshisa to kamishimeta "arigatou" kono kotoba wo ano hi kara sukoshi otona ni narimashita. sasayaka ni "genki na egao misete" to negaimasu. itsuitsumademo... Leaving into the distance, I realized for the first time. With the beauty in your love, I reflected on this word "thank you" and because of that day, I became a little bit more of an adult. I pray modestly for you to "show me a happy smile". For a long time... And credit for translating goes here But I do love Classical and all. Flame_Alchemist
Aeris' theme tune from Final Fantasy VII is kind of pretty I guess. Although a lot of Final Fantasy songs are. This one just springs to mind when thinking of a pretty song, I can listen to it at anytime and it never gets old. The piano version is also very well done and even though the original is pretty old now it still sounds great.

Riku
Final Distance by Utada Hikaru and Through the Door from FMA. These are the two most prettiest songs that I've ever heard in my life. I actually cry whenever I hear these songs because it reminds me of what they really mean and how they relate to the characters. The lyrics are sweet and even a little bit sad, but they are really beautiful. Whenever I'm in the mood for something sad or even dramatic, I listen to the songs. Another would have to be Passion from KH II. I always get a little sad whenever I hear this song... 2010DigitalBoy
Where'd You Go? By Fort Minor is sad, but pretty. The lonely keyboards and great beat accompanied by Mike's great voice make for an awesome song. Where'd You Go? Where'd you go? I miss you so, Seems like it's been forever, That you've been gone. She said "Some days I feel like ****, Some days I wanna quit, and just be normal for a bit," I don't understand why you have to always be gone, I get along but the trips always feel so long, And, I find myself trying to stay by the phone, 'Cause your voice always helps me to not feel so alone, But I feel like an idiot, workin' my day around the call, But when I pick up I don't have much to say, So, I want you to know it's a little ****** up, That I'm stuck here waitin', at times debatin', Tellin' you that I've had it with you and your career, Me and the rest of the family here singing "Where'd you go?" I miss you so, Seems like it's been forever, That you've been gone. Where'd you go? I miss you so, Seems like it's been forever, That you've been gone, Please come back home... You know the place where you used to live, Used to barbecue up burgers and ribs, Used to have a little party every Halloween with candy by the pile, But now, you only stop by every once and a while, ****, I find myself just fillin' my time, With anything to keep the thought of you from my mind, I'm doin' fine, I plan to keep it that way, You can call me if you find that you have something to say, And I'll tell you, I want you to know it's a little ****** up, That I'm stuck here waitin', at times debatin', Tellin' you that I've had it with you and your career, Me and the rest of the family here singing "Where'd you go?" I miss you so, Seems like it's been forever, That you've been gone. Where'd you go? I miss you so, Seems like it's been forever, That you've been gone, Please come back home... I want you to know it's a little ****** up, That I'm stuck here waitin', no longer debatin', Tired of sittin' and hatin' and makin' these excuses, For why you're not around, and feeling so useless, It seems one thing has been true all along, You don't really know what you've got 'til it's gone, I guess I've had it with you and your career, When you come back I won't be here and you can sing it... Where'd you go? I miss you so, Seems like it's been forever, That you've been gone. Where'd you go? I miss you so, Seems like it's been forever, That you've been gone, Please come back home... SkyBlu
"Days" by HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR is easily the most beautiful song I've ever heard, dispite the fact it's in a language I can't understand (but not for long hopefully).
