cancer
I have heard many beautiful songs, so it is hard to choose just one that is the best. But right off the top of my head, I would say that the prettiest song I've heard is "kimi ni aitakute" by Gackt. If you like Japanese music, you should definitely give this a listen. (by the way, kimi ni aitakute roughly translates to I miss you.) So it's basically a love song <
Hanabishi Recca
Final Distance by Utada Hikaru.[/SIZE']
I must say, you have good taste ;) I like the song from Utada Hikaru its called Sanctuary [Or Passion in Japanese]. Ahh.... I need more affection than you know [Reversed] [Chorus] In you and I, There's a new land, Angels in flight I need more affection than you know [Reversed] My Sanctuary, My Sanctuary, yeah Where fears and lies melt away... Music will tie I need more affection than you know [Reversed] What's left of me, What's left of me now... I watch you fast asleep, All I fear Means nothing... [Chorus] In you and I, There's a new land, Angels in flight I need more affection than you know [Reversed] My Sanctuary, My Sanctuary, yeah Where fears and lies melt away... Music will tie I need more affection than you know [Reversed] What's left of me, What's left of me So many ups and downs [Reversed] My heart's a battleground I need two emotions [Reversed] But, I need more affection than you know [Reversed] I need two emotions [Reversed] You show me how to see, That nothing is whole and nothing is broken... [Chorus] In you and I, There's a new land, Angels in flight I need more affection than you know [Reversed] My Sanctuary, My Sanctuary, yeah Where fears and lies melt away... 2010DigitalBoy
There are 2 songs from the new Coheed And Cambria CD which are really pretty, but in different ways. One is a love song, plain and simple. The other is an almost creepy lullaby-type thing. The first is Wake Up. Wake Up I'm going to ride this plane out of your life again. I wish that I could stay but you argue. More than this I wish you could've seen my face In backseat staring out the window. I'll do anything for you, Kill anyone for you. So leave yourself intact 'Cause I will be coming back. In a phrase to cut these lips, I love you. The morning will come In the press of every kiss With your head upon my chest Where I will annoy you With every waking breath Until you decide to wake up. I've earned through hope and faith The curves around your face That I'm the one you'll hold forever. If morning never comes for either one of us, Then this I pray to you wherever. I'll do anything for you. This story is for you. ('Cause I'd do anything you want me to... for you.) I'll do anything for you, Kill anyone for you. So leave yourself intact 'Cause I won't be coming back. In a phrase to cut these lips, I loved you. The morning will come In the press of every kiss With your head upon my chest Where I will annoy you With every waking breath Until you decide to wake up. The morning will come In the press of every kiss With your head upon my chest Where I will annoy you With every waking breath 'Til you decide to wake up. Then there's Always And Never Always And Never If beauty sits the child's kiss Of laughter I amend Can you catch her if she runs? With this I would share with you All of this count to no end Behind your sealed eyes you miss All that I've done for you Will you catch me when I run? If timing play evident What will you say when you're late? Stay with me and fall asleep Pray to God for no bad dreams Stay with me and fall asleep Pray to God for no bad dreams Here... I'm still waiting here, my dear For one kiss from you So here... I'm still waiting here, my dear To kill all of you To kill all of you
Guest kenei
Well, Kireina Kanjou is one of my favorites. It's an acoustic guitar based song, but it just gets me feeling so serene. Oh, it's from the anime "Noir". Anakoni Stark
another one: Like Eating Glass[Ladytron Zapatista Mix] and Like Eating Glass by Bloc Party Not only is it: "pretty" it is very very sad. It's so cold in this house Open mouth swallowing us The children sent home from school Will not stop crying And I know that you're busy But do I know that you care? You got your finger on the pulse You got your eyes everywhere And it hurts all the time when you don't return my calls And you haven't got the time to remember how it was It's so cold in this house It's so cold in this house I can't eat, I can't sleep I can't sleep, I can't dream An aversion to light Got a fear of the ocean Like drinking poison, like eating glass It's so cold in this house It's so cold in this house It's so cold in this bed We've got crosses on our eyes Been walking into the walls again We've got crosses on our eyes Been walking into the furniture We've got crosses on our eyes For richer, for poorer, for better, for worse We've got crosses on our eyes We've been walking into the furniture I personally like the orignal mix. From what I can comphrend the song's about a couple. one is always too busy, and is almost never in the house. the other is always home earlier, and tries his/her best to comfort the workaholic. eventually the laid back one becomes xenophobic and eventually develops insomnia. in the final verse they finally realize that they havent been together long enough and eventually go "blind" and wont break off the relationship, because they know that they still love each other, no matter what kind of endeavours they've been through. you should listen to both mixes, and come up with your own sympnosis. Anakoni Stark
Red Sky by Thrice. It's got a major ocean vibe with it. but the beat is worth slow dancing to. I know what lies beneath, I've seen the flash of teeth conspiring with the reef to sink our ship the wind's a cheating wife, her tongue a thirsty knife and she could take your life with one good kiss Can you see the sky turn red as morning's light breaks over me Know tonight we'll make our bed at the bottom of the sea I know the ocean speaks, I've heard her call to me and smiling in my dreams she whispers this (the stars retreat behind their veil the clouds are clinging to your sail the storm is coming can you see) Look and see the sky turn red Like blood it covers over me and soon the sea shall give up her dead We'll raise an empire from the bottom of the sea the video is right here I really want to take the girl I have feelings of affections for, and just slow dance to this song. GUNmanZERO7
Never Ending White Lights by The Grace. That song just came on tonight. It is kindof sad. I'll get the lyrics. Oh and Santuary by Utada hikaru. The one at the end of KH2 is better than the begginning one. Especially the chorus. NEVERENDING WHITE LIGHTS LYRICS "The Grace" In better days I've been known to listen I go to waste all my time is missing I'm mapping out my ending, it's never gonna happen now These things are condescending with everybody backing down You pray to stars that can help you get by And all at once you forget to try I'd go there if you let me, they're never gonna find me now My life is always empty and in and out of doubt You're not coming back for me, these things they will never be I'm so used to being wrong, so put me where I belong I'll get back to you, God knows I try, but I still lose And I get back to you, these days run by, but I still lose Angels say they can make you suffer They give and take like a vicious lover When all this loses meaning, You'll never want it back somehow Awake but still I'm dreaming And never waking up Alone...Where I'm not alone Oh I forgot my one and only favorite Limp Bizkit song. Behind Blue Eyes."Behind Blue Eyes" No one knows what it's like To be the bad man To be the sad man Behind blue eyes And no one knows What it's like to be hated To be fated to telling only lies [Chorus:] But my dreams they aren't as empty As my conscience seems to be I have hours, only lonely My love is vengeance That's never free No one knows what its like To feel these feelings Like i do, and i blame you! No one bites back as hard On their anger None of my pain and woe Can show through [Chorus] Discover l.i.m.p. say it [x4] No one knows what its like To be mistreated, to be defeated Behind blue eyes No one knows how to say That they're sorry and don't worry I'm not telling lies [Chorus] No one knows what its like To be the bad man, to be the sad man Behind blue eyes. Albert Flasher
The lyrics don't do it justice, but IMO the prettiest song is... The Ballad of Curtis Loew by Lynyrd Skynyrd Well I used to wake the morning before the rooster crowed Searching for soda bottles to get myself some dough Brought 'em down to the corner, down to the country store Cash 'em in and give my money to a man named Curtis Loew Old Curt was a black man with white curly hair When he had a fifth of wine he did not have a care He used to own an old dobro, used to play it across his knee I'd give old Curt my money, he'd play all day for me (Chorus) Play me a song Curtis Loew, Curtis Loew I got your drinking money, tune up your dobro People said he was useless, them people are the fools 'Cause Curtis Loew was the finest picker to ever play the blues He looked to be sixty, and maybe I was ten Mama used to whip me but I'd go see him again I'd clap my hands, stomp my feets, try to stay in time He'd play me a song or two Then take another drink of wine. Chorus Yes sir On the day old Curtis died, nobody came to pray Ol' preacher said some words, and they chunked him in the glade But he lived a lifetime playin' the black man's blues And on the day he lost his life, that's all he had to lose Play me a song Curtis Loew, Hey Curtis Loew I wish that you was here so everyone would know People said he was useless, them people all are fools 'Cause Curtis you're the finest picker to ever play the blues
Kidate
The prettiest song that I believe to really feel and want to just sing out loud for the world to hear would be the the song from final fantasy, "A Thousand Words". I'd gladly give the lyrics if I could but it seems that there are many different versions of the song that I would not want to mess up with memorization or the verion I hold possesion of. Tsume
The prettiest song I ever heard was Radical Dreamers ~Unstolen Jewel~ from the Chrono Cross Soundtrack. It's the ending song to the game and plays during the final credits. If you have never heard it, it is basically just an acoustic guitar playing with a female singing vocals in Japanese. It is very simple but nice to listen to and fits well with the theme of the game. The melody is soft and sweet and the singer has a tremendously beautiful voice. I actually don't know the lyrics to the song as I don't speak Japanese, but I don't think I would ever like to know what she is actually singing about. Some things like that are just better left unknown. :D
Claire
Today at camp, the kids cast as orphans (I'm going to be in the musical Annie) were practicing "Maybe." Listening to them with the piano underneath gave me goosebumps. I think I might cry when we actually perform in a few weeks. (Hard Knock Life was also amazing and also made me shiver, but it wasn't really pretty like Maybe was).

Introduction song from Final Fantasy X-2 Both have beautiful instrumental pieces. They're really easy on the ears and are just great to listen to while writing. One Perfect Day by Lydia Denker This song is from a film called 'One Perfect Day' about a teenage/young adult DJ who tries to make it in the industry while dealing with drugs, friends, alcohol, etc. It's a very empowering song as well as being beautiful/pretty.
4815162342
Into The West Annie Lennox Lay down, your sweet and weary head. Night is falling. You have come to journey? end. Sleep now, and dream of the ones who came before. They are calling, from across a distant shore. Why do you weep? What are these tears upon your face? Soon you will see. All of your fears will pass away. Safe in my arms, you?e only sleeping. What can you see, on the horizon? Why do the white gulls call? Across the sea, a pale moon rises. The ships have come, to carry you home. And all will turn, to silver glass. A light on the water. All souls pass. Hope fades, Into the world of night. Through shadows falling, Out of memory and time. Don? say, We have come now to the end. White shores are calling. You and I will meet again. And you?l be here in my arms, Just sleeping. What can you see, on the horizon? Why do the white gulls call? Across the sea, a pale moon rises. The ships have come, to carry you home. And all will turn, to silver glass. A light on the water. Grey ships pass Into the west. I love this song, as does my sister, but whenever we listen to it my mother claims it makes her cry. And, true, it is sad...but a beautiful type of sad. Which is okay. ^^

Anakoni Stark
I've narrowed it down to two: 1. Song: The Quiet Screaming Artists: Brand New vs. Dashboard Confessional Album: n/a I'm missing your bed, I never sleep Avoiding the spots where we'd have to speak And this bottle of beast is taking me home. I'm cuddling close to blankets and sheets You're not alone and you're not discreet. You make sure I know who's taking you home. I'm reading your note over again, There's not a word that I comprehend, except when you signed it: "I'll love you always and forever" I'm missing your laugh, how did it break? And when did your eyes begin to look fake? I hope you're as happy as your pretending I'm cuddling close to blanket and sheets I am alone in my defeat I wish I knew you were safely at home I'm missing your bed, I never sleep. Avoiding the spots where we'd have to speak. And this bottle of beast is taking me home ... We saw the western coast I saw the hospital Nurse the shoreline like a wound Reports of lovers tryst Were neither clear nor discript We kept it safe and slow The quiet things that no one ever knows So keep the blood in your head And keep your feet on the ground Today's the day it gets tired Today's the day we dropped out Give up my body in bed All for an empty hotel Wasting words on lowercases and capitals .... Well as for now I'm gonna hear the saddest songs, and sit alone and wonder... how you're making out. But as for me I wish that I was anywhere... With anyone... making out .... I'm missing your laugh, how did it break? And when did your eyes begin to look fake? I hope you're as happy as your pretending I'm cuddling close to blanket and sheets I am alone in my defeat I wish I knew you were safely at home I'm missing your bed, I never sleep. Avoiding the spots where we'd have to speak. And this bottle of beast is taking me home (I lie for only you And I lie well Halleluh) ....... So keep the blood in your head And keep your feet on the ground Today's the day it gets tired Today's the day we dropped out Give up my body in bed All for an empty hotel Wasting words on lowercases and capitals (Your hair. It's everywhere. Screaming infidelities. And taking its wear.) __________________________ I'm sorry if the lyrics dont make sense, you really have to listen to the track to understand. I find nice because of the way the legion of doom managed to put two emo songs together and turn them into one slow dance entity. __________________________ 2. Song: Plans [Replanned By Mogwai] Artist: Bloc Party Album: Silent Alarm: Remixed Wake up dreamer It's happening without you Cut your hair and shave your beard You squandered your chances I'll give you a thousand pounds To show me how you do it Stop being so laissez-faire We're all scared of the future I've got a taste for blood Leave the weak, leave the young I've got a taste for blood I'm walking out without you You will kill or be killed It's about progress I've got a taste for blood Wake up sleepyhead It's happening without you Such a nice guy You tell me everything twice Whipcrack speed jump We will run backwards Stop being so laissez-faire We're all scared of the future We make plans for big times Get bogged down, distracted We make plans for good times All neon, all surface So kiss me before it all gets complicated I've got a taste for blood __________________ I picked this song because it sounds quiet and depressing[even the guitar solos], which, in my opinion, is needed for a slow dance. __________________ thank you for your time. James
The song that is prettiest to me is probably Canon in D Major by Pachelbel. Without fail, that piece usually brings tears to my eyes...it's just an incredibly beautiful piece of music. Although it tends to be used at weddings, I've often thought that I'd like it to be played at my funeral. It's my favourite classical piece (although I have a few other favourites too). I've never heard it performed live, but one day I'd really love to hear it performed at the Opera House or something. That would be one of my big wishes in life, I think.
Box Hoy
Slow instrumental songs usually get me. In a way they seem to convey more without words. Guns N' Roses' slower stuff also gets me emotional. A few song which have cuaght me are A World So Cold by Mudvayne, Under the Moon by ICP, and Vermillion Pt II by Slipknot. The prettiest song I've ever heard is by Stone Sour. The song Through the Glass for their new album: Come What(ever) May. It represents how I feel about people and it's just a nice song. Through the Glass Through Glass by Stone Sour I'm looking at you through the glass Don't know how much time has passed Oh God it feels like forever But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home Sitting all alone inside your head How do you feel, that is the question But I forget, you don't expect an easy answer When something like a soul becomes initialized And folded up like paper dolls and little notes You can't expect to better folks And while you're outside looking in Describing what you see Remember what you're staring at is me 'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass Don't know how much time has passed All I know is that it feels like forever But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head How much is real, so much to question An epidemic of the mannequins Contaminating everything When thought came from the heart It never did right from the start Just listen to the noises (No more sad voices) Before you tell yourself It's just a different scene Remember is just different from what you've seen I'm looking at you through the glass Don't know how much time has passed And all I know is that it feels like forever But no one ever tells you that forever Feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head And it's the stars The stars that shine for you And it's the stars The stars that lie to you I'm looking at you through the glass Don't know how much time has passed Oh God it feels like forever But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home Sitting all alone inside your head 'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass Don't know how much time has passed All I know is that it feels like forever But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home Sitting all alone inside your head The stars The stars that lie
