the_sixth_child
I'm not sure if this is a valid topic but I'm giving it a try. Talk about Vic Mignogna, voice actor of Edward Elric, Dark Mousy, Broly, and so many others. I'm personally a big fan, so Vic bashing :nono: is not prefered but if you have any stories and what not this is the place to tell it. That sort of thing. :catgirl:
Flame_Alchemist
Vic Mignogna certainly is a talented voice artist indeed, the first time I heard his work was Fullmetal Alchemist. I had just watched the Japanese version and had become so attached to the voices I really didn't know what to make of the English Edward Elric. After watching a couple of episodes I was very happy with the way Vic Mignogna voiced Ed, it just really fits his personality. If Ed is being serious Vic can pull it off, if he's being manic he can also pull it off and if he's ranting about being called short, well that's just priceless. Not long ago me and my friend (who is also a member of this forum, goes by the name of MajinVegeta) were playing his DragonBall Z game, the newest one I think it's called Budukai Tenkaichi or something. I mentioned the fact that the character Broly is the same guy who does the voice of Edward, we must have sat there for about ten minutes just listening to the little voice clips. I swear neither of us could tell that they were indeed the same person, so Vic is a very talented guy.
Andrew
10 minutes? It was more like half hour! It still amazes me really, but I guess it's a voice actor thing...They're like bloody chameleons! >_< Anyways, on to the subject. My experience with Mr. Mignogna is highly limited, in that I've only seen the first few episodes of Fullmetal in English and the first Broly movie. From this I'm quite pleased with what I've heard, although I'm not sure if I'd put him above Romi Pak (Miss. Pak provides the voice of Edward in Japan) for playing Edward. It's a hard choice. Although no disrespect to Vic, he plays Ed most notably and funnily I might add. Although, very much of what he says as Broly is "Kakarot!" along with various grunts, laughs and screams, he suits the character most snugly. I hope to watch more anime's with him because he does a very good job. I think that's about it for my rant. Very good actor...very good...
the_sixth_child
I think he's very nice :D though I haven't met him in person yet, I have his email address and talk to him that way. Replying about 90% of the time, I've learned alot about him (ok not too much but still). He seems like a really cool guy, can't wait to meet him in person! :catgirl: . GTK
The only role done by Vic Mignogna I ever really liked was Tatsunosuke Ichimura from Peacemaker. Not sure why ^^; It's not that he does a poor job on all the others or anything... but I just thought he did a great job on Tastu. Though, like MajinVegeta, I really prefer Ed's Japanese voice (then again, I had already watched the entire series in Japanese before ever seeing it in English ^^; which prolly has somethign to do with it) I do find it fairly amusing that Vic does the voice of Kougaiji in Saiyuki because I never noticed until just now XD;;; (and Kurz in Full Metal Panic! squeee for Kurz~ )

Stuart
After a quick Google.com search I've come to learn the Risembool Rangers is a fan club for a man by the name fo Vic Mignogna, who I've come to believe is an voice actor for several anime, movies and video games? Right. Well, I don't quite know what exactly to do about this thread. You're opening post, the_sixth_child, is a bit difficult to follow, but seeing as your intentions are to discuss this character, I don't see reason to close it unless it spawns spam. So, please remember to stay on topic. For more information about Risembool Rangers, check out www.risemboolrangers.com. Shadow Blade
Oh, alright now I finally understand. Thanks to Stuart. So, the_sixth_child I got a question, that has been nagging at me after I had view the Risembool Rangers website you know the gallery, the fan fiction, art, forum, basically the works. Is the whole R.Rangers only about one guy named Vic Mignogna? Well I must say, that Vic is really talented to have his voice bring the character Edward Elric in Full Mental Alchemist to life, as well as other characters from DBZ, DNAngel, etc. But really do all of you members do nothing but talk about the guy, I mean seriously the whole website had to only do with him. So please don't hate me if I had offended you or other R.Rangers, but I'm just one curious idiot. Yes, I admit my flaws.
Raiyuu
Apologies to Stuart if I'm treading on his toes, but I'm going to move this thread to the Anime Lounge, seeing as it's a discussion about an anime voice actor. I'm pretty sure I remember seeing a Vic Mignogna thread in the Anime Lounge already, come to think of it. So - open message to everyone with Mod-power in the Anime Lounge - maybe a thread merge is in order? I quite liked Vic as the voice of Kurz Weber in Full Metal Panic! - the sort of surf-dude voice fitted him pretty well. But I don't like him as Edward Elric. Probably because I saw Fullmetal Alchemist in Japanese first, and practically every voice in that show is perfect. Good as Vic may be, I don't think he could follow Romi Paku. the_sixth_child
Ya know I may have tried to start that Vic thread :animeswea I'm still getting used to this place (the best I can do is pm friends, posting I still need work on :animeswea ). Oh and sorry about being unclear :animeswea , I tend to do that when I know what I want to say but don't know how to say it :animeangr arg...anyway... r2vq
The_sixth_child, I merged your thread with your previous one. In the future, try not to stray off topic or create multiple threads of the same subject. Also, remember that descriptive posts are very important, especially for the opening post of a thread. As for Vic Mignogna, I adore the man. Probably because of him, Full Metal Alchemist is the only dub I can say that I enjoy more than the original Japanese version subbed. I've been to his website and I was amazed to find out that he's also a Graphic Artist. Link Teacher: Arvi what do you want to be when you grow up?
