What new anime/manga are you looking forward to?

Right now, I'm really looking forward to Kaleido Star: New Wings, which will start coming out shortly. I was lucky in that I started the first half a little late, so I didn't have to endure a year-long gap between the release of Kaleido Star volume 6 and New Wings volume 1. Nevertheless, it's been at least seven months or so (by my rough estimation) since I finished the first part of the show, and the wait was agonizing. :animedepr

Right now, I'm in the middle of a slow manga month. I just bought the latest Fruits Basket (volume 12) and Wallflower six. I'm also getting really into The Host Club, a manga about a poor girl who dresses like a guy to pay off a huge debt to her school's host club run by hot guys. Why this manga really appealed to me was because the twins the series remind me of Fred and George from Harry Potter. In book two, they have their first fight and start pranking each other, including using voodoo dolls. I couldn't stop laughing!

I don't expect anything new (for me) to come out till close to April. This will be really good for my wallet!!! However, there may yet be hope for the months inbetween! I still haven't heard when Naruto (vol. 9), Her Majesty's Dog (vol. 2), or Dramacon (vol. 2) are going to come out yet. I can't wait! I've gotten so desperate that at work, I've been secretly downloading scans from the upcoming Naruto manga. There only two problems to doing this: first, I can't print it out because I don't know how to resize it to fit the page when printing (it probably has to do with the program it opens in) and second, I'm at work so if I get caught, I'm screwed! And in case you're wondering why I don't download them at home, is because my computer really sucks!

Has anybody seen Wolf's Rain, the whole series? Overall, did you like it or hate it? And why? PM because I've been thinking about getting the series.

As for anime, I'm looking forward to SCryed reruns on the Cartoon Network and new episodes of Samurai Champloo and Naruto to be aired as well. In February, I'll be allowed to buy anime again (I put myself on a monthly budget), and I already know what I'm going to buy: the final DVD for Samurai Champloo and Samurai 7 (volumes 2 and 3). Why buy the final Samurai Champloo DVD before I've seen all the episodes? Because I want to know if there's a happy ending or if it's a Cowboy Bebop ending, damn it! I hope Fuu and Mugen hook up. Or at least live!

Has anyone seen the series Wolf's Rain? I've been thinking about getting the series but I'm not sure because of the last episodes I saw. PM me because I would like to get people's opinions on the show.

Hmmm... Well, I'm constantly looking forward to the next issue of Shounen Jump, and anime wise, when Fullmetal Alchemist will be back on Adult Swim on Saturdays.
I also look forward to the next volumes of XXX Holic and Chrono Crusade (for some reason, they come out really slow.)
And I also hope for the day that Shaman King might get handed over to FUNimation and be liberated from the suckiness that 4kids has stuck upon it... :animeangr

Fullmetal Alchemist has been on Saturday night lineups for that past couple of weeks. Right now, the episode that was on Saturday (technically sunday at 12:30 AM) is called His Name is Unknown.

I'm looking forward to when the 2nd season of Fruits Basket is dubbed and in the United States!

I am also looking forward to the final books of DNAngel. I think the manga willl be coming to an end soon in the next couple of volumes, sadly enough.

I also just got into the manga series Full Moon: wo Sagashite because my cousin got the current four volumes out so far for me. It is very much cute and such a sad story. The fifth volume should be coming out around April or so. :D

Top of my looking forward to list is definately Satoshi Kon's Paprika, followed closely by Isao Takahatta's new short film (whatever it's about, just as long as it doesn't involve inflatable testicles like that other movie he did) and Goro's Earthsea. I'm entirely looking forward to whatever Shinkai's doing, but from what I can tell he's not that interested in doing more work for a while (and with his extremely hard production methods, I can see why, but the fact that we have honest new brilliance in the industry while frontrunners Miyazaki and Oshii have shown some unusual declines in quality with Howl's and Innocence is getting me somewhat impatient). Hellboy the anime is going to kick *** in every way possible. The Toyko Tribes movie is going to be interesting; not exactly because it sounds that good, but because MTV is apparently going to give it a wide release and I'm interested to see how it does at the box office in America (then again, Disney said the same thing about Howl's, and look how that release turned out). Death Note's live-action movie is going to be amazing and it needs an anime fast. Does anyone know how FUNi's efforts towards a Fruits Basket season 2 are going? And when will Powerpuff Girls Z ever come out?

On the US side of things, Mind Game needs to be licensed fast given how successful other more stylistic animes like FLCL, Dead Leaves, and the EVA movies have been in America and in my opinion Mind Game is way better than all 3 of those. BECK was made to hit in America (pun intended) and while it would be a pain to dub, it could possibly be the next Furuba-esque word-of-mouth phenomenon even if it was just available subbed (and while the licensers are are at it, Paradise Kiss has a fair deal of BECK's style with twice the mainstream marketability). Blood+ and Monster are awesome and would be perfect for AS, and given the movie tie-ins I could see them being licensed next con season. I loved the first 3 episodes of Hale and Guu that I saw at Anime Boston and based on the Newtype preview it'll have a pretty good dub, so I'm going to get the DVDs as soon as they come out. Black Cat and Eureka 7 both look cool, and the movies of Naruto and FMA should be at least half as good as their series (although with Naruto it'd have to be as good as the series to really hold my attention). And to continue the pipe dream, WE NEED UNCUT ONE PIECE!

Well, actually, I really cant wait for the Black Cat XIII anime and manga series to come out soon. What I've read about and heard so far, it seems like a really cool show that I would like to watch. Train looks really cool and he looks like he could kick anyone's a**, if you know what I mean. XD

Oh yes!! I also can't wait for that new Paradise Kiss anime that's stil very new in Japan. I've tried to read the manga, but it doesn't appeal to me that much. The anime looks way better and it looks like a really funny and hilarious show. n.n

Personally, I am really looking forward to the day when Hellsing Ultimate hits U.S. shores. I have been a fan of the manga for quite sometime...and I have seen the first anime which is awesome but, in my opinion, just doesn't stand up to the manga. From what I have seen of Ultimate, it stays pretty true to the manga...and that in itself deserves something. ;) I just cant WAIT !!!!!!

In the future, kureno, please don't double-post. You can always edit your most recent reply if you have something that needs to be added.

Except that it hasn't. Gravitation 2 (the sequel to Gravitation, which is what has been fully released in North America) is unlicensed, as far as I know. I'm sort of hoping that DMP will pick it up, but Tokyopop is the obvious choice for licensing it. Either company would be fine by me. Of course, they'll have to wait until the tankoubon start coming out in Japan.
