~ Chapter 1, Part 1 ~

Aryk stood in the blistering sun, waiting for the opportune moment to strike. He and his band of four had been scouting the crowd, looking for the best candidate to rip off. Then he saw it.

She was a wealthy woman, with loads of jewels hanging off of her well looked after body. She had foolishly placed her purse, no doubt filled with money, on the ground. It was an open invitation.

Aryk signaled to Dawn, and she moved in for the kill. The other three were still off looking for their own prize, but Aryk had full confidence in Dawn's skill.

Aryk and Dawn were brother and sister, you see. They had grown up on the streets, their parents having mysteriously dissapeared when they were young. Aryk, three years older than Dawn to the day, had nurtured his little sister as if she was his own child. Because of that, there was a trust between them that was unwavering, just as was their love for each other.

Dawn walked casually through the crowed towards her target, looking as inconspicuous as the rest. To any passerby, she appeared only to be interested in the act that had drawn the crowd, and was simply trying to get a better look. Hardly her intentions, but it was an art that she had perfected.

Aryk watched in satisfied awe as his sister slinked her way back in his direction. It was then that the woman decided that it was time to go. When she reached for her purse, she realized it wasn't there.

"Help! Somebody, help!" she screamed at noone inparticular. "My purse, it's gone!"

Once Dawn heard the womans frantic shouts, she bolted it, followed closely by her brother and the others. They decided to split, and each took their own path, running to their hideout. Once they got there, they saw that one of them wasn't so lucky as to make it back.

Aryk spoke up, "Has anyone seen Biggs?" After the shaking heads and mumbled remarks, he decided to take action. "Alright, you all stay here. I'll see if I can't find him." With that, he walked out the door.

Aryk searched Biggs' known hang-out places, seeing if any of their contacts had seen him. Not surprisingly, none had. Then, as if it wasn't obvious enough, he decided to go to the jail house.

Walking along the cobblestone streets, weaving his way among the people and carrages, Aryk was deep in thought.

Damn it, Biggs. Why'dja have to go and get caught?

Aryk had reached his destination, and walked up to the guards.

"Hello," he said. "I was wondering if you guys ha-"

"Go away, little scum, before I arrest you for disterbing peace!"

"Um, bye."

Aryk was pissed off now. He walked around the corner, jumped on a pile of barrels, and glanced into the court-yard, where the ones arrested wait until they are admitted. He looked hard, and, sure enough, he saw Biggs, tied up and flanked by two guards.

Damn, he thought. How the hell am I supposed to get him out now?

His thoughts where distracted by Dawn pulling at his pant leg.

"Dawn, what the hell are you doing here? I thought I told you to stay put. This could be dangerous!" Aryk was really pissed now. "Go away, Dawn. Lemme handle this, ok?"

"Aryk, there's a hole in the wall just over there. I think I can squeeze into it if I really try."

Aryk looked at her sceptically, her eyes pleading. "All well and good that you might be able to fit, but how in the name of Hell do you think Biggs is going to get out? And what do you think you'll do once your in?"

"Aryk, trust me," was all that Dawn said. "Whether you like it or not, I'm going in, even if it is just to let him know we're planning on getting him out."

Before Aryk could say a word, she ran to the hole, and slipped through. Aryk ran over to try and stop her, and hissed, "Dawn, get back her! Now!" No reply.

Damn it! Why'd she do that? Aryk had no choice but to wait for her to come back out. He decided to walk over to the barrels again, as it was such a great place to see what was happening in the yard. Just as he reached the barrels, a young girl, running like a madman, bumped into him, causing both to fall to the ground.

"The hell you doing?" came Aryk's sharp remark. "Watch where you're going, dumbass."

"Please, you have to help me! I'm being chased by the castle guards, and I can't run from them forever...Please," she begged, her eyes tearing up.

Damn guilt-trips. "Why should I help you? You've given me no reason."

"Please! You must! I'll give you all the money you want...Please!"

Aryk pondered this for a moment. The money would be great, but I need to stay and wait for Dawn. "How far are the guards?"

"I think I lost most of them, but the rest should be here any minute." Her deep brown eyes conveyed utmost worry, and this was the factor that decided Aryk's answer. He was a sucker for dark, sparkling eyes.

"I'll help, but for now, you need to hide. I have business right here at the moment, but once I'm done, I'll come find you. Go to the second bridge by the Rune river, and wait. I'll be there shortly."

Aryk watched the young girl dissapear around the bend, then climed the barrels. He could see Dawn crawling back towards the hole already, so he jumped down and ran to meet her. In the shadow of the large, brick wall, Zee emerged.

"Well?" questioned Aryk, concern obvious in his rough voice.

"He'll be alright for now. He's just happy that we're planning, is all."

"How did you get past the guards?"

"Guards? There were no guards...what are you talking about, Aryk?" Dawn asked, a perplexed look on her face.

"Nothing. The sun must be playing with my eyes," he replied, unsure himself if he even saw the guards. "Come on. We have to go."

Well, guys, there's the first installment of Demon~Angel. This is a fantasy story written by Vampire_Fox and myself, set in a FFIX-type world. It has three main characters, Aryk, Dawn, and the princess, name witheld for reason. Anyway, the posting will alternate between Fox and myself, rotating through the characters, and told from the viewpoint of one, and only one, character per post. Well, I guess that Fox is up next...Take it away, Amanda!

This seems pretty interesting, I'll keep a lookout for chapter 2. You know, it's funny. When you said that they split up to run to the hideout I thought 'heh, reminds me of Final Fantasy 9' and then directly afterwards you mentioned a charachter named Biggs, and I was like 'OMG it IS Final Fantasy 9!'

Eva ran as fast as her legs could take her. Every now and again she would take a desperate look behind her, wishing that no guards had picked up on her trial. She was intent on evading their capture. She had seen an opportune moment and taken it, there was no way she was returning.

I have to get away?was one of few thoughts that crossed her mind. She didn?t really trust the boy she had asked for help but at this point she would take anything she could get.
Running though the streets out of town to the first bridge Eva took a right along the banks. Second bridge on the river Rune. Arriving at the bridge she sat underneath one of the large river trees exhausted.

Never in her life had she run so much. Eva calmed her self down by watching the river. It was soothing in the way it flowed. Watching the water made her reflect on the mornings events.

' ~ --__-- ~ '

She had been watching the guards for quite some time now. She knew when and at what time they changed shifts, which guards they changed with and how long it took. Her moment was arriving.

The early morning had been much the same as any. Wake up, have her servants dress her, comb her hair, file her nails. Sit though a boring convocation with her mother, the queen, about what happened the pervious night with her noble friends. Eva was so sick of all the ranting and fussing. The king, her father was never around. Eva was always told what to, how to do it and whenever she questioned why the only response she would be answered with was ?because you are a princess?. That?s why she decided she was going to make a break for it. Get out of the castle into the real world and have it her way for once.

Eva had the guard roster all planed out. At 12:15 the guards changed shifts. But because it was at lunch they men were lazy and especially sloppy in returning to their posts. It took them a minimum of 15 minutes to return. That was more than enough time. Going down to the garden and dressing in ?normal people?s clothes? she had ?borrowed? off the servants. Eva made her way down towards the gate.

What happened next was totally unforeseen by Eva. By some impossibly random occurrence the guards had decided to return from lunch, on time! She cursed her self and them. She was committed so there was no going back now.

Side stepping the head guard, Ennix Tarrin, as he made his way back to the entrance post, Eva thought she had got away with it until she felt a strong grip on her shoulder. The hand turned her around and in a gruff demanding voice spat ?Pass!?

Eva remained quiet, she kept her head down and hunched over. Again he demanded ?Pass!? I?m committed Eva thought, as she rammed her foot down hard on top of Ennix?s ankle. Not thinking another thought Eva bolted down the street. Taking a left she came along side the jail. That?s when she saw him. She didn?t know what the attraction was but he was good enough.

She'd asked for help and he agreed now all that was left was to wait for his arrival at the spot he told her to be at.

Eva was snapped out of her train of thought to th sound of approaching foot steps. She stood and waited anxiously for whoever was about to apper around the corner.

Interesting questions, Tical. All will be answered soon, and the ages will be revealed in my next post, coming up later on this week. As for the "not anything new" comment, just wait...I guarentee there's a twist that not even Fox even knows about...well, she knows most of it, but not the "big one." Also, there are three main characters, as stated before: Aryk, Eva and Dawn.

So, any other questions, just post and either Fox or I will answer them.

Oh, and Fox, great post, exactly what I wanted...keep it up! And, I would be happy with whatever you put, even if it's just two paragraphs, as this is as much your story as it is mine.

To all who's reading, keep posted, and watch as Dawn, Aryk and Eva become closer, ultimately leading to a great and unexpected ending, chosen exclusevly by Fox herself, although unknown to all but me until now. 'Till my next admission to the story, farewell our readers.

Loves! ~.^

~Chapter 1, Part 3~

Dawn walked beside her brother, curiosity on her face.

"Aryk, where the hell we going?" she asked, irritated. "The hideout's over there. We need to get back and plan Biggs' excape. Aryk?!"

"Settle down, Dawn," Aryk finally replied. "We'll get there soon. For now, we have someone to meet."

Dawn eyed her brother. Never before had he abandoned any of his group like this, expecially Biggs. Damn you, Aryk. Why don't we just go to the wearhouse.

"She's waiting at the river."

"Who's waiting at the river?" Dawn asked, now noticing the direction they were heading in.

"To be honest, I don't know," Aryk's simple reply. "There's something about her, though."

"A girl? You're ditching Biggs for a girl?!" Furry took over Dawn's features, and she pushed Aryk up against the wall. "The HELL I'm going to walk with you just so you can get with some chick! Biggs is like family, Aryk. Don't leave him behind for a stupid-"

Dawn's words stopped abruptly as Aryk placed his left hand over her mouth. "Shut up, Dawn! I'm not doing this because I like her...I don't even know her name. I just feel like I need...we need to talk to her, at least. I feel like it's important."

"Fine," she said, grabbing Aryk's arm and yanking it away from her. "But, I'm only going if you promise that, within the hour, we'll be back at base, planning for Biggs."

"Ok."

Dawn watched as Aryk once again started to walk down the cobblestone streets. She could hear the Rune river rushing through the banks, and it seemed to calm her down a bit. As they passed the outer buildings of the city, the cobblestones became less and less, leading into a dirt road. Once they had reached the first bridge at the river, Aryk turned right. Dawn noticed that they were headed towards the second bridge, the one used mainly for shepherds and their flocks, seeing that the road from it lead out to the pastures, while the first leads to the forest.

"She should be somewhere around here, Dawn."

"Hmph," was the only thing she said. She was still pissed about this whole thing, but was willing to follow along, if only to get this done sooner. The sooner we meet this girl, the sooner we get Biggs out was her reasoning.

Dawn followed her brother towards the little groove of trees near the bridge, and that's when she saw a figure sitting in the shade, watching the water. The girl looked up at them, but sat still, waiting for them to come over.

"There you are. Thank the gods," came her welcome, relieve obvious in her voice.

"Ya, we came," Dawn said. Muttering under her breath, "Stupid bitch."

"Dawn!" the short, angry reply from Aryk. "Hello again. My name is Aryk, and this is Dawn, my little sister."

"Nice to meet you, Aryk. Dawn. My name is Evangelica Rose Huntington II, but you can call me Eva."

Shock stole over Dawns face, as well has her brothers. "Eva Rose, as in Eva the princess?"

"Yes, I am the princess." Eva blushed, and glanced down at the water again.

"I-I didn't know, your higness," studdered Aryk. "Forgive me for being so rude to you earlier...but, why where you running from your own guards?"

"I'll tell you, but I think it's too dangerous here. Do you have a place we can stay, or even just get out of this sun?"

"Sure, follow me, your higness," came Aryk's reply. Dawn could see the awe in his eyes, but she just rolled her own. Stupid boys, always thinking about one thing...whatever.

"I think I already told you to call me Eva...you should, seeing as calling me princess could get us into some real trouble."

"And people just seeing you won't?" Dawn replied, humered at the girl's nieve logic.

"Dawn, that's enough," Aryk said. Then, turning to Eva, "Just follow us, Eva. We'll take you to our hideout."

"Aryk, how old are you?" asked Eva, seemingly out of nowhere.

"I'm 17. Dawn's 14."

"Really? I'm 14, too!"

"What a coincidence," Dawn replied sarcastically. This is who we abandoned Biggs for? Huh, could'a been worse, I suppose. The threesome walked back towards the gang's hideout in strained silence, as much for inconspicuancy as for uncomfortability.

Aryk walked quickly with Dawn and Eva beside him. They had made good time; the base was just up ahead. Aryk walked up to the base guard and shook his hand.
?Tomminus how?s it go?n?? The guard smiled and nodded a sign things were good. He looked over towards Eva, at first the guard didn?t recognize her but it eventually sunk in.

?Aryk is that THE princess?!? Aryk nodded and shook his head

?Its not what you think we didn?t kid nap her, ill explain later? Dawn was getting noticeably irritated at the amount of time this was taking. Aryk could tell by the way Dawn was standing with her arms folded tapping her foot.

?Let us in, I?ll vouch for the princess? The guard nodded and looked at Eva suspiciously; reluctantly he let them pass into the hideout.

= = = = =

The expanse of the hideout was impressive to say the least. From the out side it just looked like the base of a medium sized forested hill, but inside laid a massive expanse of intricately cut rooms and tunnels. The base looked to be an old mining tunnel one could see train tracks just on the surface of the dusty floor. For being underground the base was extremely well lit. Aryk walked purposefully into the main briefing/meeting room of the base. For as large a base as it was the gang didn?t have that many members.

Aryk stood to the front of the room, he hated doing this but it was necessary from him. Everyone was hushed by Dawn in order to let Arky speak. He noticed Eva standing at the back observing everyone.

?All right, as you all know Biggs got caught and thrown in the jail house. We are going to plan his escape and get him out? tonight any objections?? Aryk waited, there were none.

?This is the plan?? Aryk planed Biggs? escape with the input of his friends. He had a special role for Dawn and Eva to serve. Quite ingenious he thought to himself.

= = = = =

Aryk rounded the side of the Jail house. For this to work everyone?s going to have to be on their toes he thought. He couldn?t help thinking how smart he was for coming up with this. It was pure genius.

He waited on the East side for the signal. As soon as he saw that light he would have to spring into action and climb up the wall like a monkey on fire. Any minute now?
Any minute now?
There!
Aryk saw the tiny light in the distance near one of the houses. Immediately off to the south, in fount of him there was a large explosion. Dyran did his job good. What Dyria had done was set alight the kegs at the back of the Inn a few houses down from the Jail. Once those things caught alight they went off like rockets. Aryk heard a third keg explode, that was his signal.

He scrambled up the side of the high prison wall. Scaling it with ease he reached the top just as no less than 18 guards ran off towards the commotion down at the inn. ?Easy as pie? Aryk whispered to him self as he came to land softly on his haunches inside the walls of the prison. Aryk kept to the shadows and waited for the second signal. Sure enough it came right on cue.

?Hey! Hey! Anyone around!? I?ve caught the princess! Hey! Someone answer me! Guards!?? It was Dawn, good job sis he thought.

The rest of the four guards occupying the station stupidly came out side to investigate the person yelling. Aryk skulked around the back of the cells checking inside each one careful not to miss Biggs by mistake. Sure enough Aryk found him. He was curled up fast asleep in the corner of his cell; nothing could wake Biggs up from his sleep. Not even several explosions. Nothing that is except irritating his ears.

Aryk threw a stone at Biggs? ear to wake him up. He jolted awake and looked around angrily to find the source of the annoyance.

?Sorry man hate to wake you up but we should get out of here ya know. Before the guards come back and I end up in the same cell you are? Biggs? eyes lit up at the sight of Aryk.

A large smile crossed Aryk?s face to his friend again. In no time the lock was picked and Biggs was a free man. There was no way however that Biggs being the man he was couldn't possibly climb the Jail wall. Aryk led Biggs outside and down an alleyway.

Suddenly a feminine scream cut across the symphony of the night? That was not a signal Aryk thought.

The scream sounded again, it was Dawns.....

~Chapter 1, Part 5~

Eva fealt herself being rushed off, and could hear Dawn's muffled protests beside her. She didn't know who had taken them, but she knew that it wasn't the city guards. That, at least, was a little bit of a relief.

Eva's sence of direction was muffled because of the piece of cloth wrapped across her eyes. But still, she could tell that Dawn and herself were being taken away from the jail, and away from the Palace.

Her footsteps, as well as those around her, started to sound different. They had left the city, and were approaching the river Rune. They crossed a bridge, the babbling of the water filling Eva's ears.

Just as suddenly, the sounds of the river faded, and the sounds of the forest enclosed her.

Eva felt herself being lifted off the ground, then placed into a basket-like contraption. She could hear Dawns constant protests, and this made her a little more confortable - At least someone is here that I know.

She fealt Dawn fall on top of her, and then heard a shrill whistle. After the ringing whistle had stopped, a voice called to her and Dawn. "Stay in the basket, you two, or you'll regret it."

After those words, Eva felt herself, Dawn, and the basket shoot upwards. It caused butterflies in her somach, and Dawn swore.

"Dawn, are you ok?" was all that Eva could say.

"I'll be alright," Dawn said, helping Eva take off the wrapping. "But, that's hardly what Owen'll be able to say when I get through with him."

"Owen? Who's Owen?"

"Owen is one of Aryk's friends, if you wanna call him that." Dawn had a look of disgust on her face as she continued. "Owen is the leader of the people who inhabit the forest outside the city. He likes to randomly "assist" getting us to his hideout every now and then, and then it's just to hit on me. He's such a pig."

Eva was hardly listening to Dawn. She was busy watching the ground fall below her. "Why are we going into the trees?"

"Oh, you'll see, Eva. Just hold on tight," Dawn advised.

Eva grapped the edge of the basket beside her, and Dawn, sitting next to Eva, did the same. What's in store for us now? she wondered. Something tells me I don't wanna know.

The basket carrying the two girls bumped into the pully system that had carried them up into the trees, and it started to sway dangerously. Suddenly, Dawn cried out, "Hold on, girl! Here we go!" Just as suddenly, Eva fealt butterflies where her stomach should be. The basket had somehow hooked itself onto another rope, and it acted like a "zipline," speeding the basket, and the girls within, through the trees.

"Holy shit!" yelled Eva. "What's going on, Dawn?"

"Don't worry about it," was all that answered her question.

Just as suddenly as it had begun, their ride was stopped. Eva let out her held breath, and looked over the side of the basket. They were over a dangerous looking part of a river, and the basked was now lowering itself downwards - right towards the churning white water of the rapids. Eva grabbed Dawn's hand, not ever wanting to let it go, afraid that if she did, she would fall into the waters and be gone from this world, Eva's world, forever.

Eva once again looked over the edge of the basket, and saw that they were being lowered to a platform above the river, previously unnoticed because of the faint moonlight. Still holding Dawn's hand, Eva squeezed harder as the basket bumped softly onto the wooden deck. She could hear the water racing below her, and she didn't want to leave the basket. Somewhere between her noticing the platform and them reaching it, Eva had closed her eyes.

A voice called to her and Dawn, but Eva didn't hear what the voice had said. Dawn, on the other hand, obviously did. And she didn't seem to like what it had said.

"Owen, you jack ass. Why the hell did you take us here, especially during a time like this?"

Eva finally opened her eyes, and saw a handome guy of about 18 walking up to the basket. His long, black hair almost shon in the moonlight, and his clothing, in Eva's eyes, left alot to be desired. His eyes, though, caught her attention. They were green, but around his left iris was a blue ring, while around his right was a brown ring. I've never seen such beautiful and intriguing eyes in my entire life.

"Don't worry, baby. Aryk can handle himself. I just need to talk to the two of you."

"Owen, when Aryk gets here, he's gonna kick your a-" but Dawn's words were interrupted by Owen's hand.

"Dawn, sweety, don't sweat it. Aryk'll understand. I was only making sure you and this pritty little thing," Owen said, turning to Eva, "don't get caught by the guards. You do know that you two were almost caught, right? If my men would'a grabbed you two seconds later, it would'a been too late, sweetcakes."

"Owen, you're dispicable...I'd rather be in jail than stay here with you."

"Don't worry, hon. I've sent a messanger to Aryk already. He'll be here in the morning. In the meantime, come on inside and have some food. Then, you two beauties can have your beauty sleep."

= = = = =

The night had passed pritty uneventfully, although Eva was alittle unconfortable around Owen. He had made constant passes at her, but she just blushed and turned away. She and Dawn had went to bed after supper with some of the other forest people, although after Owen had tried and failed to have them, either one, to come and sleep with him.

Eva sat outside, waiting for Dawn to wake. She watched the sunrise, and was caught unawares when a friendly voice called out to her.

"Eva, glad you're safe."

Eva turned around, and saw Aryk jogging over to her. "Oh, thank the gods you're here, Aryk."

"You've used that line already, princess," Aryk said jokingly. "We should go get Dawn, and talk with Owen. He seemes to have some important news for us."

Eva nodded her head, and led Aryk over to where Dawn was sleeping. After a few moments, Dawn awoke, and Eva followed the syblings over to Owen's hut.

~ Chapter 1, Part 6 ~

Dawn walked beside Eva with Aryk on her left towards Owen's hut, whatever info this slimeball has it better be good she thought. Dawn pushed in front of Aryk and bashed her fist down on one of the wooden support beams on the out side. A voice came from within and yelled"Enter".

Dawn enterd the hut first followed by Eva and an increaslinly annoyed Aryk.
"Dawn hon, how did you sleep?" Dawn folded her arms and glared at Owen.
"Fine..." Owen smiled and then shot a glance towards Eva.
"and you sweety?" Eva giggled for some time before managing to force out a meak "Also fine"

Aryk interrupted the small talk between Owen and Eva. "So whats this "important info you have for us?"

"well..." Before Owen could take another breath Horns sounded throughout the camp. A bulky armoured solider busted through the entry to Owens hut bringing in tow 15 other men.
"Sir! Guards from the city have breached the defensive positions and have begun infiltraiting our outer camps. The men estimate they wil be here within 15 to 20 minutes. Their size of their force far out weighs our own, there are rumours that the king flooded the ranks with seasoned soldiers."

A determined and serious look washed across Owens face. Everyone including Dawn looked towards Eva as she spoke.
"Please do not let them take me" Eva looked concerned and with good reason, Dawn spoke up.
"we wont let them touch you, right Aryk?" Aryk nodded in response.
"what shall we do sir?" the guard questioned Owen, he thought for several long seconds before answering.

"Evacuate all thoes not able to bear arms, gather all the troops, send word to defend and or re-take our key positions. Captian i leave our village in your charge. I will see to the escape of our guests." The captian nodded, he seamed honoured and yet frightened at Owens request Dawn thought. the Soldiers left the group alone in Owens hut.

= = = =

The four ran at speed along a winding forest path. Owen had led them here after their convocation with the guard. Dawn was skeptical that Owens men could recover the village, allthough they were a fair away from their orginal position, Dawn could swear she smelt smoke.

Running along the path Dawn begain to think they were in safe waters so to speek. That was untill the group was cut short by a barrage of arrows. The loud whistling noise they created was cut through by a squeal from Eva as they missed her by inches.

Dawn dodged the arrows and grasped Evas hand, pulling the princess to safety.
"we cant go that way!" Dawn shouted above the din. Aryk nodded and Owen tried to figure which direction the arrows were comming from.
"we have to get out of here!" Eva shouted beside Dawn.
"Where?!" Dawn shouted back.
"this way now!" They turned to face Aryk who had allready begun to turn right running into the forest. Following the three ran into the wood off the path. Dawn ran holding Eva's hand draging the princess with her. All this running was beging to take its toll on everyone and they soon had to stop for breath. Looking around her Dawn had no idea where they now were.

"Aryk?"
"Yes i know Dawn, i dont know where we are either"
They stood in silence as everyone caught their breath. Dawn almost jumped out of her skin when she head foot steps and murmerd voices behind them. Dawn looked over towards Aryk and Owen. They almost didnt need to be told.
"RUN!" Owen yelled and the four sprang to their feet once again.

Looking behind her Dawn saw they now had 6 Royal Guards in tow.
"Can't we fight?" Dawn breathed as they ran. Eva shook her head.
"No, they are THE Royal Guard we would be no match for them. running is the only option."

They continued to run frm the guard through the branches and tree truns for what seemed like forver, the silence of running was broken when Owen stoped in mid stepp and motioned for the others to form up behind him.
Complying Dawn and Eva hid behind a tree.

"what is it?" Dawn whisperd to Aryk who was situated behind them.
"I'm not sure... Owen?"
"I...I think its a house"

They moves forwards with extreme caution. The Tick of the damp forest stopped suddenly and in the middle of a small clearing was an old, rundown shack. The sight of it sent a ice cold chill up Dawns spine. broken and rotted trees lay about the place, she could see no light but something about it botherd her. Dawn stared at the sight for a while trying to figure out what was rong with the picture, and then answer came. For a house as old and delapidaed as it was it should have no occupents.

The one thing rong with this picture Dawn saw was a small line of smoke rising from the shacks chimny.
