The13thMan
Ok, i typed a big thing on the whole situation...but then i lost it, and i don't feel like typing it again, so i'm going to give a simplified version, and you guys can ask for details if you want. Pretty much here's how it goes: I can't date due to my religion, but i went against it anyways for an internet relationship. Since it was on the internet, i didn't actually do anything that went against my religion. A while ago somebody closer (my highschool) came into my life. She's awesome, i really like her. Then after some problems me and my internet gf broke up. So now i want to go out with the girl at my school, but i can't, because of my religion. Also, i have two siblings that go to the school that would easily find out if i didn't really try very hard to keep it secret. And, i love the girl on the internet...but she's so far away and younger than me. Also, i'm a senior, so me and the girl at my highschool probably wouldn't last longer than a couple of months. But i REALLY like her....and fairly certain she likes me. Ok, that's it. Thanx for reading it. ^_^
Boba Fett
What is your religion? You talk about going against it, but then you say because your relationship was online you didn't do anything against your religion. Sorry, just a bit confused.
The13thMan
The Unification church. I never touched her, my gf on the internet. It's against my religion to. But i only believe in the church around....30-45% It's just that my parents are really strict about it. Albert Flasher
Can't say I've ever heard of the Unification church before, but sects are always popping up here and there from time to time. Well, what you're saying is that you can't have a girlfriend because of your religion, or what? How did you're parents ever get married? This is all very confusing. Perhaps you could explain you're religions restrictions a bit more... Edit: Oh, wait, just wiki'ed the Unification Church. Turns out I have heard of it. *Leaves the converstion*
Sara
Is this an issue of your beliefs, or your parents' beliefs?
The13thMan
Both parents and my beliefs. My parents believe very strongly in it...as for me i'd say i have about 30-40% of their faith in it. Though i've been raised up with this religion, so it'd be hard for me to let go. And it'd be tough on my parents too probably. And my parents met through an aranged marriage.
Drifting soul
I'm a religious person myself so normally i'd advise you to stick to your beliefs. Only they don't really seem like your beliefs, they seem more like your parents beliefs. Maybe you should figure our what your true beliefs are before you go ahead with anything. If not you'll probably just feel guilty. I'm having a problem that's quite similar so I know what you're going through (and also about the whole internet relationship thing). Good luck and sorry for using the word 'beliefs' so many times. My english teacher says I have to stop doing that! Tee hee hee...
