[color=green]The Otakuboards calendar allows us to post important events and interesting tidbits for all the boards to see. It also apparently can be used to advertise for "My New Site" on every day of the week.

I see the latter as spam.

[size=1]Agreed. Most definitely this is an abuse of the calendar system, and should be dealt with. I think the thing is, the calendar is highly under-utilised, and because of that, things slip through easier.[/size]

[COLOR=Plum]I've noticed this as well and its rather annoying to see such nonsense. It's an insult to OB itself, that some member (We know who) would take advantage of OB for personal use of advertisement. The member can use this in there signature by just adding a link to their site unknowly or in their profiles. I didn't say anything, due to the fact that since its been there for a while that no one has taken any type of action. But in all I agree with both Boba and Baron.

I concur, and I removed the event in question. In case we weren't clear on this before, it isn't acceptable to use the calendar to advertise one's personal site.

I must admit I've never noticed anything like that in the calendar, but most of the time I don't even notice it's there as I only glance at it occasionally nowadays. Still if there is this blatant breakage of OtakuBoards' no advertising rules, much like those irritating PMs you're sometimes sent, then it's best to nip it in the bud as soon as possible. [/SIZE]
