One day, when I was actually updating my deviantart (which is collecting loads of dust right now by the way) I ended up looking through some other's artworks. The first thing that comes to mind when you say the world art is drawing, painting, sculpting, etc. But what I've come to realize, is that there are many different arts such as graphic design, photography, && loads more then I would ever think of. Performance arts such as acting, dancing, singing etc. My question is, What is your talent(s)? Has anyone ever told you that your artistic ability wasn't an art? How did that effect you && what arts are you still doing today?

As for me well..Before I would describe myself as "Having no artistic ability" but then again, we're talking about art not the stereotype version.

[*]Writing: Most likely one of the things that I'm most passionate about. Maybe its because when I was 7, I use to write short stories all the time somehow I'll never know but I've always had a thing for writing. I love writing stories especially fantasy fiction stories are one of my top favs. I'm told I'm good at poetry but I'm not really fond of it to be honest.
[*]Dance: I've taken Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Aerobics && HipHop. Dancing has been something I've been doing since I was in kindergarden so it's developed into a part of my life. It's the thing that helps me relieve stress or express myself. I'd love to learn how to breakdance and plan on learning soon. Most people would think that dancing is not an art, but a "sport" however, it is a way to express oneself.
[*]Make Up Design: I'm sure I'm not the first girl to admit that she likes make up. But not just for superficial reasons, I've collected lots of high designer make up and love to experiment by mixing colors && pigments. I'd love to be a professional make up designer, unfortunately I know I'll never be that good as some people (yet again my passions are mostly dancing and writing) but it's a hobby I like to do. As most people would say, make up is not an "Art" but I believe it can be used in an artistic way.
[*]Photography: I love taking pictures but this is beside the point. I've just got into photography lately, and I actually would love to one day make high-quality abstract ones. There is something about abstract photography that interests me. I guess it's the graphic design on some photos, but all the same. I've been learning so I'm fairly new at it, but it's a work in progress.

To anwser the other questions, I've been told Dance && Make Up design are not arts but I don't care what anyone thinks so that kind of renders the insult pointless. I'm still practicing make up, still writing, still dancing, and still doing photography. I think that pretty much sums it up.

Well, I thoroughly enjoy English/Creative Writing, and I'm told that I'm good at it as well. I prefer short stories and poetry -- that stuff I can really churn out. I took a Creative Writing class last semester, and it was just great. AP English III, which I'm still taking, is pretty fun when we're not analyzing some dry passage and actually writing stuff ourselves.

I also take a Photography class at school, which is pretty technically-oriented. Our teacher is a serious stickler for f-stops, exposure times, and value. I guess I'm alright at this, but I don't really consider this something all that hard to do -- it's more luck than anything else, really. You point, you shoot, you get lucky and modify the pictures on the computer later to fine-tune 'em. My pictures are clear and well-exposed, though. :3

I'm a huge fan of Graphic Design, as a few of you might know. I really wanted to take a class this year, but it just wouldn't fit in my schedule, so I'm still a self-taught GFXer for now. Anyway, I've been teaching myself for a year and a month now, and it's still fun. I really hit my stride over the summer when I had plenty of time to devote to art, but now with school and all, I've just been trying to keep on top of my schoolwork.

I'd say that writing and graphic design are my favorites -- I'm really not sure which one I love more.

Well, I'm definitely more in tune wih my creative art side more than anything else. I'm always drawing something whever I am; in my room doing homework, in class (when I should be taking notes), even on the long bus rides between college and home. I'm always thinking of something that would look good if I sat down and drew it out. Of course, that doesn't mean it comes out exactly how I want it to, but it still makes me happy to put one of my various thoughts on paper.

I guess it's the same way on the rare occasions that I write something, too. It's lovely to read over something that you wrote; a world that you created that's not like anyone else's. Something about it makes you so proud most times that you can't really express it in words. Corny way to try and explain it, I know, but it's true. :p

I used to be not-so-bad at creative writing and the like when I was a little younger - though it was a rare occurence outside of English classes. Nowadays I write even less, and when I try to I can't get it to feel quite right. Not entirely sure why though.

My main artistic joy is drawing/sketching, which can quite easily drain away 2 or 3 hours of my day if I get in 'the mood'. It's not generally anything realistic though, often just character designs or vehicles which take no account for the forces of the universe, say for example gravity. Still, it keeps me happy. One of my friends asked me, roughly a year ago, to try and do some character designs for something he was writing/making, but I still haven't gotten around to finishing a single one of them. Not good, eh?

Graphic Design: The ability to take an image and manipulate it to your liking, as well as creating things from scratch is a wonderful expeirance. I love making graphics for others, more than making them for nothing (Well not nothing, but you know what I mean no?). Although I am not the greatest nor worst gfx artist...I'm always proud of my work, because I know I tried my best.

fashion Design: Another form of art I love is the ability to create an outfit that is entirely your own. I've had many dresses (Prom) designed by me and it makes me happy to see my work on the females. I currently created a bride's dress and a flower girl dress for my mothers wedding, as well as the cake.

Drawing: I like to draw, but I don't usaully do it. I'm the type who just likes to draw when the mood feels right.

Writing: This is my strongest forte and most favorite thing to do. I'm constantly writing, even if its in class I manage to right a little something before the lecture or lab begins. Poetry is another way I experess my creativity as well as emotions.

I play the piano and the cello, so music is important to me. I'm not so into the cello, but I play the piano whenever I need to relax or get my mind off of things. I really just love listening to classical music. The fact that it was created such a long time ago and still is recognized as having many of the greatest works of art really should say something. I know a lot of people find classical music completely boring and make fun of orchestra and band, but we put a lot of hard work into playing. And it's not easy. ^_^;;

My other forte is writing, although I'm stronger is writing such as essays and formal responses rather than creative writing. I also enjoy sketching a lot. I don't do it very often, but when I do it's usually fashion design or just random characters.

Currently I'm stuck on drawing anime-ish characters. X/ Honestly, I can't remember the last I've drawn, for example, a simple house! I should really expand the themes of my drawings but on the other hand I have no motivation to do so. ;P

The other artsy stuff I used to do is performing arts. As a kid I was in an amateur theatre for four years, and then went to an upper secondary school that specialized in performing arts, where I did a few more plays. That all was few years past, though, and since then I haven't had much chance to do any acting... Shame. :/

Oh, and then I write. Or at least try to write. It's mostly Final Fantasy fanfiction or gamescripts for my own amusement. Nothing big, and I never get anything finished.

Stupid waves of inspiration, why do you come so seldom and leave so quickly! >:O

I don?t know if I have any artistic talent or not, but I do like learning how my Adobe Photoshop program works. One person did tell me that making wallpapers from scans of an anime show wasn?t art since I didn?t draw the original picture. It didn?t stop me from making them though since it takes time to make them look nice and even if I didn?t draw the original picture it still requires thought and effort on your part. That and I think it?s fun to do. ^_^

If reading were considered an art then that would be my Forte since I absolutely love to read. Whether it?s science fiction or psychology or stuff on computers. I just don?t feel right if I haven?t read something new each day.

As for someone telling me I was good at something, well I have had several people tell me I have a pretty singing voice, so maybe I?ll take lessons in the future. ^_~
