Yamanaka Ino folded her arms and watched as her old students filed into the classroom. All of them looked fresh faced and bright despite the early morning. They wore their forehead protectors proudly, all of them now Genin.

She drew in a breath and surveyed the happy faces, sighing a little, ?To be naive again?? she thought, remembering the old days. She cleared her throat once everyone was seated and silenced the nervous chatter with an icy glare.

?All right, everyone, you are now official ninja,? she paused for effect, ?I will now call out the three-man Cell you will be a part of, followed by you and your team mates names. Your respective Jounin will then collect you and give you a run down of what will be expected. From this day onwards, you are representatives of Konoha. You will cross into other lands and fight enemies who won?t go easy on you just because you?re children. This is the adult?s world now, and you should all be damn proud you?ve made it this far.? The teacher stopped and bit her bottom lip. Damn these kids and their eager faces. Their responsibilities wouldn?t hit home until they were out their in the thick of it?

?Er?sensei? Our Teams?? someone spoke up, and Ino identified it as Hart. She raised an eyebrow and tapped her notebook with the names scrawled inside. ?Yes, of course?? she cleared her throat, before she began.

?Cell 1; Hyuuga Nariko. Kenta Akira. Ii Munemura.
Cell 2; Tetsuni Hart. Takeuchi Meiko. Miyamoto Keiji.
Cell 3: Hyuuga Daisuke. Kagami Imi. Zensei Ginmaru.
Cell 4: Hyuuga Junko. Akano Kazuko??

The names rattled on as the cells were called out, expressions changing as each student found out which cell they belonged to. The room grew icy in one small section as Ginmaru and Imi exchanged glares, Kazuko grumbling to himself as he chanced a glance at Junko.

Ino sighed and shook her head, wondering if these kids would get to each other before any potential enemies.

?Listen to me!? she called, catching everyone?s attention again. ?Your Jounin will be arriving momentarily, when they call out your Cell, you go to them and follow their instructions to the letter, you hear me??

A few nods in recognition was all she needed before Ino left the room, waving the Jounin in.

I'm sure JJ and KKC will be able to handle themselves if no one else fills the spot of Genin. However, if you wish to play as a Genin, the sign ups are still open. Also, if you're a Jounin and want to be a Genin, too, I have no problems with that. =) Post your feelings on your team mates now, but leave it to your Jounin to take you outside to commence the introductions and tell you what's required etc. Also, remember, have fun~ ^_~

Daisuke rested his forehead on his hand and groaned. He wasn?t in the same Cell as Meiko. Not only that, but his other Cell-mates were his greatest rival?s best friend Imi, and that insufferably superior Ginmaru. Although he could probably work side-by-side with either one of them with some success, the same couldn't be said for those two. They were huge rivals, they could hardly sit close together without coming to blows!

Daisuke sat up straight again and looked at his two teammates, who were both glaring daggers at each other. Junko had a hand on Imi's shoulder, ready to restrain her if necessary. Then he turned and stared at Daisuke. ?Any minute now, one of those three are going to protest this match-up. And none of them are afraid of speaking their minds.? Daisuke muttered to himself. Oh, well, might as well make the best of a bad situation, he added privately.

Kazuko grumbled a few harsh words under his breath as Yamanaka-sensei read out the names of Kazuko's cell. Of all people to be matched with, Junko had to be one of them. Kazuko sank into his seat and an image of him strangling the Hokage (who chose the cells) came into his mind.

Hart on the other hand was about to explode with excitement. Meiko-chan was in his cell and his sensei was Uzumaki Naruto, a strong ninja Kazuko had admired for a while. He had never even heard of Aogiri Kaname. The red haired boy watched Hyuuga Daisuke glance over at Mei with sadness on his face. Well, better Hart than him to be with her.

He watched Meiko for a while, she seemed happy to be with two of her good friends and Naruto-sensei was well known by most people. Kazuko's heart seemed to sink into his stomach as he watched the reactions of students as they were called out. Some were miserable like him, but Kazuko could only notice the people happy with their cell. He slumped over so that his head was resting on the table and his reflection looked back at him through the metalic part of his head band, which he used for a belt. His reflection seemed to lecture him, "Don't act like this. What would Dad think of you?"

"Oi, Kazuko... Sorry about your luck." Hart whispered, giving his downed friend a pat on the shoulder. Kazuko could tell that Hart was true to his words and managed a smile and lifted himself up.

"Hey, this is a good thing." He explained with a grin, "Now I can discover Junko's weakness and beat the crap out of him." Hart laughed at his spirited friend and was shushed by Yamanaka-sensei, who was still droning out names of students.

He started to eye Junko, who was trying to keep Imi from attacking Ginmaru. His eyes were white and pupil-less like all members of the Hyuuga clan. Kazuko would show him what he was made of and prove that he didn't need a blood line trait to be great. This team he was in wasn't the one he had hoped for, but none the less he would become a great shinobi.

Kazuko's ears pricked up as he heard a whisper from across the room. He looked over and found the source, his cousin June. Upon seeing that he had noticed her she waved her hand and gave him a big smile. He had almost forgotten that they were in the same cell together.

"Well, at least I?m not completely alone..."

Keiji?s eyes danced with light as basked in his success. The test had been a difficult one, but he was extremely happy that his blood, sweat, and tears ended up paying off. The warm feeling of victory surrounded him, bolstering his confidence. Finally! I?ve done it! The former-classmates rejoiced, sharing their happiness with one another.

Amid the euphoria, Keiji realized he was no longer friends with most of these people, but now rivals ? opponents he had to outperform to take his next step in becoming a full-fledged shinobi. His mood shifted quickly to downcast as he looked at Meiko and Imi. Within, he wished with all his might that he would be in their cell, but realized the probability was extremely low. Maybe just one, perhaps, he hoped.

?Miyamoto Keiji. Hey Miyamoto, get over here!? the voice sailed through his inner-turmoil, calling him back to the bittersweet real world. A man with blonde hair and an orange outfit glared at him impatiently. ?I?m not paying you to stand around, now!?

?Sir, you?re not paying me at all.?

?Smartass. C?mon, let?s go.? He looked up seeing Meiko and Hart looking at him expectantly, and his heart was torn. He had one of his best friends in his cell, and he couldn?t complain about it, but he also lost a very good friend. He followed Naruto out of the room onto a balcony, where he sat on the rail, studying his three students. Keiji took a seat next to Meiko, who was in between Hart and Keiji. He never got along with the womanizer, and a conversation between the two always resulted in Keiji walking away, calming himself down before he did something he would regret.

?Give me your name and what?d you?d like to accomplish,? said Naruto. ?And please, don?t make it anything lame, staring with you,? he finished, pointing at Keiji.

?My name is Keiji. As for my ambitions? Well, I?m determined in all that I try, and I hope to succeed in all that I do.?

Though he had no idea what Junko had said, Ginmaru's protest was heard not a split second after.

"Oi, Yamanaka-sensei, why am I on a team with such a noisy, violent girl?" he said, casting a dark glare her way.

"Tch, shut up, you cocky bastard!" Imi snarled, restrained only barely by Junko's hand.

Ino sighed, a headache beginning to stir between her temples. Thankfully, the constant fighting of the two would soon be Shogo's problem, not hers. It was one of the few graces she had to count.

"Ginmaru, the cells are designed for balance in their members," she said, slowly. "You are an excellent close-combat fighter, Daisuke is a skilled scout, and Imi good at more of a range. In addition, the three of you are suited to learning together."

"Ah, I see," Ginmaru said softly, nodding. "You've placed her in a team with me so that she can learn from my skill."

"You sonuvabitch! I'll show you!"

"Bring it on, you idiot!"

"Jackass!"

"Bitch!"

Ino sighed and shook her head. Shogo was going to kill her for this, she just knew it.

Akira set his back against the wall, relieved that he finally made it. His hard work had decisively paid off, and he was getting closer and closer to his goal. At first, he didn?t have much interest in which group he was in, but hearing that he was with Nariko and Munemura. Nariko being the upbeat girl that she is, is very disciplined when there is work to get done. Munemura is very nice, but sometimes hesitates in insecure situations. Hopefully, he can fix that soon.

His body was aching with soreness from the training he was doing yesterday. Even if his body gave out, his mind kept on saying let?s keep going. He knows that training long and hard will make you stronger, but with his routine of training for long periods of time a day, that?s just not good for his body.

His belly grumbled for the taste of meat. He knew he should have eat something before coming up here, but he didn?t wanted to be late. Though at the corner of his eye, he saw their Jounin. Uchiha Sasuke out of all people, would be their Jounin. This was perfect for Akira, as he looked at Sasuke-sensei as the master of the powerful Sharingan. He was the only true user of the mighty technique and he might share alittle of his knowledge with Akira. This was going to be awesome.

?Sugoi! I finally get a Cell! Hey! Maybe they?ll buy me Cup Ramen! This is going to be great!? was the only thought in Naruto?s mind as he walked towards the classroom with a goofy grin plastered on his face, not realizing that the other Jounin had received their Cell, with a bowl of Cup Rmane in his hands. The Cup Ramen was one thing to smile about but the thought of having a Cell of his own was another, which made his day even better. He couldn?t stop smiling until he realized he had no idea what Genin was in his Cell. Still eating the Cup Ramen, Naruto pulled out a piece of paper from his scroll holster and reviewed the names.

?Uh? Tetsuni Hart, Takeuchi Meiko, Miyamoto Keiji? Two guys and a girl? Why does that sound so familiar??

Shrugging it off, the happy-go-lucky Jounin walked to the classroom and opened it with Cup Ramen in his mouth. The remaining Genin turned their gaze to the bright haired Jounin and knew him to be Uzumaki Naruto, a strange and obviously nonsensical Jounin. He surveyed the room, still eating Cup Ramen, and called out the three names after finishing his last noodle. At the call of Tetsuni Hart, a playboy-like Genin walked down from his seat with an air of coquetry about him. The call of Takeuchi Meiko brought down a young girl wearing all black with wrist length metal plated gloves who seemed a bit reticent when walking towards Naruto. Thinking he had all of his Rookie Genin, Naruto turned to leave until he realized he had made a mistake when Yamanaka Ino shouted his name.

?Uzumaki Naruto!? With one leg in the air, Naruto?s head turned towards Ino who stood with a vein popping out of her temple and fists on her hips. ?Aren?t you forgetting something?? Naruto stood properly and put on his thinking face, trying to think what he could possibly be forgetting and this had put Ino towards the edge, making her shout at him. ?Baka! Are you really that stupid?! You?re forgetting your third Genin!? Putting a hand to her face, Ino sighed. ?Can?t you do anything right??

Still standing in front of the doorway, Naruto blinked a few times before looking at his Cell, counting to make sure that there were three, but stopping to realize there were only two. Franticly, Naruto looked around the classroom and realized that the female Genin pointed to a boy in his seat who had his head in a downward position. Naruto scratched the back of his head and called out to the boy.

?Oi, Miyamoto! Miyamoto Keiji, get over here! I?m not paying you to sit there!?

The boy sat looking at his Jounin, a man with bright orange hair eating Cup Ramen, something he hadn?t seen before. ?Sir, you?re not paying me at all.?

With a frustrated face, Naruto called out to the boy once more. ?Smartass. C?mon, let?s go. We don?t have all day.?

Naruto led the three Genin onto a balcony and sat himself on the rail, overlooking his three students. He saw that Miyamoto Keiji sat next to Takeuchi Meiko, who sat in between Tetsuni Hart and Keiji. He could see that there was some tension between the two boys and realized how familiar the three before him were.

?Give me your name and what you?d like to accomplish,? Naruto began. ?And don?t make it lame!? Upon finishing, Naruto pointed to Keiji who looked up at his Jounin. ?Let?s start with you!?

Hehe...yes. I love my cell already.

The classroom's burst of exciting cheers, and the slight hint of fighting, echoed down the hallway. Then there was Ino's voice shouting at the newly appointed Genin to calm down and wait for their Jounin. Sho slowly, almost cautiously, approached the classroom. As the classroom noise grew louder, a sinister smirk crept into the right corner of his scarred face. This was the best time of the year for him. It was like Christmas. No matter how many student's he had taken, no matter how many times he'd gone or go through this, the excitement and adrenaline felt the same. However, this time around was different. The instant Hokage informed Sho of the Genin he'd be training, he knew he was in for the long run.

Imi, the only girl in his cell, was anything but a graceful female. She was vicious when angered, and got angry pretty quick to Sho's knowledge. Particularly when Ginmaru was present. Though he knew he'd constantly be trying to keep the two from maiming one another, Sho felt confident that the two would become very powerful shinobi one day. He thought about the last Genin in his cell; Daisuke. From what Ino and Hokage filled him in on, Daisuke seemed to be open-minded and talkative. This could pose as a impartial problem as it would mean for Sho to continue to ask him to shush. Even still, Sho was impatient as he finally reached the classroom and leant against the door frame. Folding his arms under his tattered and grungy cloak, Sho listened as Ino finished off the list.

The spicey scent of Uzumaki Naruto's noodles caught Sho''s attention. The boisterous, bright-eyed Jounin allowed his Genin to file out first before closing the door behind him. Sho sensed the three young ninjas, and smiled at Naruto. With a serious salute, Naruto nodded once and followed his students.

"Are you going to enter, Sho-kun?" a subtle, yet lurking voice breezed into his ears.

"You've got some nerve, Sasuke-poo," Sho pushed himself from the wall and turned, "I don't see you bounding for the door."

Sasuke chuckled lightly and placed a hand firmly on Sho's shoulder. The two faced the door and sighed. This was the hardest part, opening that door. All of the Jounin, no matter their morale and modesty, wanted to make a grand entrance. It was the look on the kids' faces that gave the oldies a good laugh; in Sho's case, it was the kids' chakra pumping with intimidation, joy, fear, and anticipation.

"You go first," Sho nudged Sasuke in the ribs.

"I don't think so. I'd like to see their reactions when you creep in," Sasuke pushed on Sho.

"So would I," he grumbled, his envy obvious, "In any case, I'll catch you later on so you can tell me what the twirps looked like."

With that, Sho gripped the door handle and flung it open. The buzzing of chatter that rang in his ears just seconds before, suddenly hushed. He felt their stares and gaping mouths. With all his might, Sho forced a laugh into the back of his throat and brushed his cloak over his left shoulder. Despite the silent room, it seemed Imi and Ginmaru didn't acknowledge his entrance and continued to scorn each other. With a small shrug, Sho reached into the pouch on his left thigh and pulled out two shuriken. The Genin around him gasped as he launched both at the rivals. Unbelievably, each shuriken caught the two's shirts and pinned them to the wall behind them. The room, if it could get any quieter, fell into a dead silence. The atmosphere was just the way Sho liked it, a wave of gulps and a bit of fright weighed over the class. Imi and Ginmaru blinked at each other, then turned to see Sho smirking and snapping his pouch shut.

"You two are going to be so much fun," he started, and slowly rotated his head to pick Daisuke from the crowd, "And you are going to prove helpful with them."

Daisuke bobbed his head softly, remaining silent.

"Right," Sho clapped, making most of the students jump in their seats, "You three, right here, now. And I will not have any fuss out of you two spitballs. One word, and that shuriken will have a warmer home. You got that?"

Sho pointed with both hands on each side of him. Immediately, Daisuke jumped from his desk and planted his feet at Sho's right side. Imi and Ginmaru plucked the shuirken from the wall and walked quietly towards their new teacher. Sho smiled at Ino and held the door open for the three to exit. Sasuke patted his friend on the shoulder and prepared himself for his entrance.

Sho lead the cell outside into the courtyard outside of the academy. The three trailed behind, stopping the second he did. Spinning around on his heel, Sho took off his cloak and draped it over the stone wall.

"You guys can sit down if you like," Sho motioned to the water fountain and sat down on the pebble walkway, leaning back against the wall, "Once you get comfortable, we'll get cozy with one another."

He chuckled as he felt Imi's spirit fume. Ginmaru remained playfully snide, and Daisuke stiffled a grin.

"No, no, go ahead and laugh, Daisuke," the coy remark resulted in Sho taking a dagger-glare from Imi, "It helps the healing process."

"Healing?" Imi shot.

"You'll thank me later, I promise," Sho folded his hands behind his head, "Tell me about yourselves. I dont care who goes first."

Sasuke sat up in the field as he noticed the time, it would soon be time to get to the Academy. He stood and made his way back to the main part of Konoha, moving swiftly through the streets before he stood outside the building where he would meet the three members of his cell. He entered and saw that none of the others were there yet. It didn't take long for the rest of the Jounin to arrive, Naruto was one of the last, and he was carressing a Cup Ramen that Sasuke assumed was from his precious stash. He rolled his eyes and pulled out a scroll from his pouch, looking at the names carefully.

Naruto, being the exuberant man he is bounded through the door and pulled out his students, walking away with them with a goofy grin plastered on his face, he was extrememly proud that he finally got control of a cell. Sasuke pushed Sho through next and smirked at the faces of his students. The girl and one of the boys obviously didn't get along, the other was quite cheerful as they followed Sho out the door. Sasuke finally stepped into the room and his eyes glanced around quickly. The room had fallen silent as all the students stared at him. He put the scroll away.

"Kenta Akira. Hyuuga Nariko. Ii Munemura." Sasuke said loudly.

The two boys and girl got out of their seats and came to stand before him. He glanced them over again and nodded to Ino before he walked out of the class with them following quickly. He brought them to a secluded forest like area where there were two logs, with one longer than the other. Sasuke waved his hand at the longer one, and the three students sat as he moved over positioning himself on the one a few metres away.

Sasuke focussed on each carefully at a time, the one that interested him was the elusive boy that never looked at him, his eyes were looking down or away. He was the first name he called out, with spiky sable coloured hair.

"Kenta Akira, look at me." he said in a demanding tone.

The boy lifted his gaze, unwaveringly looking into his eyes. Sasuke smirked, he was a non-User, the red colour was permanent in his eyes because they had been implanted. He noticed that there were only 2 dots, so he wasn't at full potential, yet it was quite good for him to already have 2 at an early stage. Sasuke wondered if he thought it would be easy to earn the third dot, because it would be a shock for him when he finds out it takes years of hard, relentless training to achieve full Sharingan.

"My name is Uchiha Sasuke, you will address me as Sasuke-sensei. I will be your Jounin and it is my duty to further train you and prepare you as a ninja. It is also my duty to take care of you and help you in any way possible. I do not favour people, I expect the best from everyone, and I expect the three of you to work together as one. My speciality is of course, the Sharingan, I am the final member of the Uchiha clan, and thus the only natural user left, and my other speciality is the use of the katana." He patted the weapon that sat tied to his belt like an old friend.

He knew that his cell had potential to do great things, especially since they had a Hyuuga with Byakugan, and a non-user with Sharingan. "I'm pleased to see that two of the members in this cell have eye conditions, I will teach you how to fully utilize their powers and how to get the best out of it. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask me. Let's start with introductions; tell us your name, your speciality, your likes, dislikes, and your ambitions."

Meiko walked down to Naruto after Hart did, she was glad they were together, she was happy with Keiji being with them, but Hart seemed a little down that he'd been separated by his best friend, Kazuko. She glanced over at Daisuke and saw he was quite upset for a reason unknown to her, maybe he wasn't happy with the group he got put in, after all, he was with the feuding duo. The two of them waved to Kazuko as they walked past and followed Naruto out of the room. Keiji stayed beside Meiko as he tried to stay as far away from Hart as he could.

Meiko remained quiet for the walk, just listening to the two boys tell her things. She knew that Keiji still didn't get along with the male students, and because of certain things that happened, he preferred not to talk to or come in contact with them.

They finally arrived at their destination, and the three of them sat, with her in the middle of course. Naruto sat on the rails and looked at them.

"Give me your name and what you?d like to accomplish, and don't make it lame!" he told them loudly before pointing to Keiji to start.

"My name is Keiji. As for my ambitions? Well, I?m determined in all that I try, and I hope to succeed in all that I do."

"Good, you next." Naruto pointed at her.

"I'm Meiko and I want to get a 100% accuracy rate like Tenten-sensei because I currently have an 80%, I'm currently striving to learn how to perfect Soushouryu and I want to learn more jutsu so I can get better and surpass Tenten-sensei. But in general, I just want to be the best in everything." Meiko said confidently, revealing the side of her that Hart and Keiji knew, along with her other friends.

"Good ambitions. And finally, you." Naruto nodded to Hart.

Junko wasn?t sure whether it was alright to let Imi and Ginamru go alone, despite the fact that a Jounin would be there. Imi was not one to pass up a good fight and Ginmaru was just itching to try and win. It was a dangerous situation and Junko was still fuming over his Cell, so he just let them go, secretly cheering Imi on.

?You?d better win if you fight.? Junko whispered as Imi walked out.

Imi glared at him and kept walking, going through the door and all but leaving Junko alone. Junko shuddered as he thought about his team again and could almost feel the tension starting to build. Not only was he on a team with that, arrogant Kazuko, his cousin was along for the ride. Junko would rather be on a team with Daisuke than Kazuko.

Junko walked over to the pair with his head hung low. ?We?re in a group.?

?Did you just pick up on that?? Kazuko replied sarcastically.

?Baka. Don?t you mock me.? Junko said, his voice dripping with poison.

?So, are you saying that you?re better than me?? Kazuko asked accusingly.

?I never said that. What are you insinuating, huh?? Junko questioned.

?You know damn well what I?m insinuating. Just because your techniques follow a bloodline, you automatically think you?re better than those without.? Kazuko yelled, sticking his finger in Junko?s face.

?No, I don?t think Kazuko. I damn well know.? Junko said, slapping Kazuko?s finger away.

?Do you want to lose here and now, white eyes?? Kazuko questioned, slipping his glove on.

?I?m not in the mood for a fight, but if I need to prove to you that I?m better than you let?s get it over with right now.? Junko called, setting into his fighting stance.

?Byakugan!? Junko called out as his eyes adjusted themselves to the technique. Veins popped out and his eyes became more red than white. He snarled and Kazuko charged.

Junko dodged to the side and thrust a Gentle fist into Kazuko?s side, causing Kazuko to falter. Junko knew that all first time receivers of the ?Gentle Fist? always felt it the most. It was as if something had stuffed up your body. Kazuko didn?t let that stop him for long as he slashed at Junko, drawing blood.

?Underestimated me already, ?eh Junko?? Kazuko taunted.

Junko charged and was about to deliver a blow to the stomach when he hit something else. It looked like another student and Junko was about thrash him or her, when she quickly said, ?Hyuuga Junko, I presume??

Junko faltered, flabbergasted. This must be his Jounin. Junko quickly dropped his fist and bowed in apology. ?I..?

?No need for apologies. Just make up you two.? She sternly said, causing Junko to stare daggers at Kazuko. He quickly shook his hand and turned his back to everyone, screaming silently. He now had to deal with two Akona?s, not just one. Why him of all people? Junko silently cursed the Hokage and wondered if what Neji and Hinata would say about the whole thing. Life really sucked sometimes.

Daisuke wasn?t sure what to make of his new jounin. He was obviously blind, yet had sensed out his assigned pupils from among 23 students without trouble, and had thrown those shuriken with great accuracy. He was tall, very lean, and covered with bandages. He did lend an air of danger and excitement. And he seemed able to keep Imi and Ginmaru in their places. Still, Daisuke wasn?t one to tempt fate and deliberately sat between his new comrades.

?Well, I like a lot of things,? Daisuke said, beginning to count on his fingers, ?Long walks, reading, strategy games like chess, the night sky, sweets, practicing with ? Neji-sensei,? he remembered Meiko helping him with target practice, and felt his cheeks grow warm, ?and um??

?OK, OK, I think we get the point,? the jounin interrupted, who mentally chalked up ?varied interests? and ?in love? next to the other personality traits this genin possessed.

?I really hate taking written exams,? Daisuke continued.

?I wondered why you were chosen to round out my group,? Ginmaru snickered, ?The Hokage must?ve decided it took two idiots to make this group fair.?

?You?!? Imi began, but stopped when she saw the jounin twirling a pair of shuriken on his fingers.

?Anyway, my hobby is collecting acorn caps.? Everyone stared at him while crickets chirped. ?No, seriously, they make great whistles. Here I?ll show you.? He began rummaging around in his utility pack. Before anyone could stop him, he placed his thumbs in a V-shape over the open side of the cap and blew. An ear-piercing, shrieking whistle came forth from the little brown circle, scaring off the crickets.

?Thanks for the demonstration,? the jounin said, ?how about your dreams??

?I want to become the strongest ninja I possibly can, so I can protect Konoha and the Hyuuga blood.?

When Yamanaka Ino listed off the names, Nari had barely paid attention. She knew who the two other members in her cell were, but didn?t know them personally. All she could think about was that she would finally have another teacher, and even more amounts of things to learn. She could hardly contain her excitement as she waited for the Jounin to arrive. Relishing the weight of the new forehead protector on her collarbone, Nari could only speculate on who would be their new sensei. Uzumaki Naruto came in first, leaving with Hart, Meiko, and Keiji. When Zankokusa Shogo walked into the room, Nari lost her breath as tension filled her body: was he going to be their Jounin? It was more than she could hope for, but she couldn?t stop herself from feeling let down when he left with Imi, Ginmaru, and Daisuke.

Suddenly the room fell silent, and Nari heard a voice cut into the air: ?Kenta Akira. Hyuuga Nariko. Ii Munemura.?

Nari?s confidence trembled as she recognized their Jounin, Uchiha Sasuke.
I don?t believe this?the Uchiha?
But there was nothing she could do except to follow the two other boys and stand before him. As her new sensei?s eyes ran over them, Nari promised herself to make the best of the situation. After all, this man was not only the last of the infamous Uchiha, but also one of the best ninjas in existence. Leaving the classroom with Sasuke, the cell was led to a secluded area, where they were seated on logs.

Sasuke sat directly across from them on another log, and a minute of silence passed as he inspected them further. It was then that Nari realized that the boy sitting next to her, the one named Kenta Akira, was avoiding their sensei?s gaze. Sasuke had noticed it too, and his commanding voice allowed no refusal when he told Akira to look at him.

Finally Sasuke addressed the cell, ?My name is Uchiha Sasuke; you will address me as Sasuke-sensei? I?m pleased to see that two of the members in this cell have eye conditions, I will teach you how to fully utilize their powers??

At these words, Nariko?s heart stopped, and she visibly paled.
Sasuke-sensei thinks?that I can use the Byakugan.
She had no idea what to do; her mind was in turmoil. Of all things, she had hoped that she wouldn?t be forced to reveal her shame, but now it seemed inevitable.
What am I going to do? Sasuke-sensei will probably ask to see me use Byakugan? Then he would realize that Nari was a blunder, the disgrace of the proud Hyuuga clan. No doubt she would be an embarrassment to not only her sensei, but also to the two other members of her cell. What in the world was she going to do?
I have no choice? I have to fulfill their expectations.

?Let?s start with introductions; tell us your name, your specialty, your likes, your dislikes, and your ambitions.? Sasuke finished.

It was quiet for a moment, and then Nariko spoke to fill in the silence; better to get it over with now.
?My name is Nari. I like?being outside, books, colorful things, the scent of flowers, sunflowers, and training. I don?t really like?stereotypes, laziness, cruelty, or?relatives. I?m trying to find something that I lost long ago, and it?s very valuable to me. Oh, and my specialty? My specialty is -- .? She stopped, and they looked at her expectantly. ??is being a dependable person.?

Nari bit her lip; she wondered if she should have said Byakugan for her specialty, just to keep up the facade, but her conscience wouldn't let her lie to her sensei. She couldn?t help but glance up into the Uchiha?s eyes, wondering if he could see right through her to the truth.

Imi, for lack of a better word, sulked as she sat next to Daisuke. She?d listened to him talk about his hobbies, making a vague effort to lock them away in a recess of her memory. Who cared about interests? What good were interests when it came to battle? Guys like Daisuke annoyed her, they were too soppy?and his thing for Mei...Imi felt a muscle tic near her eye and stood up, arms folded as she paced. Sho, if it could be seen, would have raised a questioning eyebrow.

?Kagami?what are you doing??

?Pacing, Shogo-sensei.? Imi stated, stopping as she spoke, her feet planted firmly on the ground. She didn?t hear Sho?s soft chuckle at the hard-faced girl and lapsed into a steely silence.

?You don?t usually have a problem with talking, baka, so tell us your hobbies.? Ginmaru stifled a yawn as he finished, but not before he shot a condescending look at Daisuke who shifted uncomfortably. Imi suppressed a growl and stared at the group, uncrossing her arms to place them on the fountain wall and lean back, feet crossed at the ankles.

?Fine, then. I like my own space, and I like to be in control of a situation. I don?t expect anyone else to look after me, and I?ll be pissed if any of you think it?s appropriate to ?step in and help? if you think I?m trouble. Soppy, romantic people annoy me, and so do people who assume they?re better than everyone else.? The red head paused and took a breath, before straightening again ?And I like watching clouds.?

Ginmaru snorted and looked away?before a rather irate Imi landed on him.

?Laugh at me, will you!? she snarled, locking her fingers around his throat. Ginmaru let out a surprised gurgle before his hands shot up to clutch at Imi?s neck.

Daisuke?s eyes widened and he moved to stop the pair, but Sho stopped him.

?Sensei??? the boy started, but was cut off by Sho?s smirk, ?They?ll have to breathe eventually. Let?s just which one wins, eh??

Daisuke could only sigh. This was going to be tough.

Munemura sighed, barely stopping it from becoming a yawn, and rubbed the sore spot at the base of his back. Regardless of the great relief he felt from passing the exam, he'd need to remind himself never to collapse onto a solid wooden bench to rest. Well, never again at least.

Feeling a little too lazy to get up and look around, he lifted his forehead protector in both hands, trying to get a look at his new teammates with the freshly polished metal plate. He cursed lightly under his breath, having caught the sunlight the moment he raised it, but began to turn it eagerly from left to right once he repositioned it. Kenta Akira... Hyuuga Nariko... he recognised their names and faces, naturally, but he'd never really been in contact with them much outside the classroom before. To be perfectly honest, if someone had asked him to describe them, the best he'd be able to come up with on the spot would be 'the Sharingan guy' and 'her, over there'. Not that he'd admit that to either of them.

Munemura sighed again, shaking his head slowly and stretching his arms to either side, forehead protector still in hand. He tried to remind himself that at least he was on relatively good terms with the members of his cell, especially when compared to some of the others. Until their Jounin arrived, he could just sit back and -

"Kenta Akira. Hyuuga Nariko. Ii Munemura."

- OK, so he couldn't sit back and relax anymore. Pulling the protector - rather uncomfortably - back over his forehead, he rose to his feet and walked over to the Jounin, who he immediately recognised as the well-renowned Uchiha Sasuke. As much as he didn't want to overstep his bounds around such a respected ninja, he couldn't help but let a slight smirk of satisfaction show through in his face. Fortunately, no-one else seemed to notice, and after what he guessed was a confirmation with Ino-sensei, their new mentor lead the group outside.

At first, Munemura felt slightly uncomfortable being so closely observed by the ninja, but felt somewhat relieved - and a tad guilty for taking comfort in such things - once Akira became the subject of his attention. Nevertheless, the moment passed, and Sasuke soon continued to address the three Genin together.

My speciality is of course, the Sharingan, I am the final member of the Uchiha clan, and thus the only natural user left, and my other speciality is the use of the katana." Sasuke - well, Sasuke-sensei - affectionally patted the sheathed sword as he spoke of it, drawing away Munemura's attention, and promptly regaining it when he went on, "I'm pleased to see that two of the members in this cell have eye conditions..."

Glancing at his two teammates, and, for that matter, his sensei, Munemura realised for the first time since they had sat down as a group that he was, in that way and others, the odd-one-out of the group. No amount of intent to present himself correctly could hold off the uneasy feeling in his stomach, so he resigned to simply ignore it.

"...I will teach you how to fully utilize their powers and how to get the best out of it. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask me. Let's start with introductions; tell us your name, your speciality, your likes, dislikes, and your ambitions." And as if Munemura wasn't uncomfortable enough already, Sasuke turned and fixed him with the same look that he had been so relieved to get rid of earlier. For a moment he thought that he was going to be 'volunteered', but Nari spoke up first.

He couldn't help but notice that, after her introduction, Nariko looked almost as, if not more, uncomfortable as he felt. He didn't want to speculate as to why, but decided that it was probably best not to let the silence set in again. However, the fact that his body didn't seem to agree with him didn't really help.

"Guess I'm up next, right?" Now, it may have just been Munemura's imagination, but he could've sworn that nothing came out of his mouth other than a dull squeak. Actually, as far as he was concerned, it had better have been his imagination. "Well, my name's Ii Munemura, and, well, I guess this would be my speciality.."

He lifted his kusarigama free of his belt, the chain and weight tightly wound around it from blade to hilt, and after a few seconds set it back down beside him. However, he decided it felt awkward to not have it in its usual place, and discreetly slipped it back through his belt.

"I like... well, err... good food for one. I guess training isn't so bad, so long as I don't mess myself up. Umm... cooking! But just so long as I don't have to eat it - my parents pretend to like the stuff, I guess they haven't realised that I don't care yet. And then dislikes, right? Well, I won't mention any names, but arrogant people can bug the hell out of me." Munemura paused for a much needed breath, and to try and remember what the last point was. "Oh, and last but not least, corny as it may sound, my ambition is to be the best that I can be."

He was pretty sure that even Sasuke-sensei winced at that, but after a slight nod of the head, his attention drifted away from Munemura. Which he might have been thankful for, had it not returned almost immediately to Nari.

Akira listened as his teammates explained themselfs to Sasuke-sensei. He was already liking Munemura, a guy that loves good food. And he cooks! Nariko looked slightly paled, like she spotted a dead person in front of her eyes or she was hiding a secret from Sasuke- sensei. Their sensei looked deeply into Neriko?s eyes then darted towards Akira.

?Alright, Akira. That just leaves you.? He said as everyone turned their heads at Akira. He glanced at his teammates and turned to Sasuke- sensei.

?My name is Kenta Akira. I love to train to grow stronger and any kinds of food that can fill this stomach full. You can?t fight without a empty stomach. What I don?t like? I don?t like the....? He stopped as he flashed backed when he first used the Sharingan. ?The rain... I don?t like to be in the rain. My speciality is the Sharingan.?He finished as Sasuke- sensei nodded. That wasn?t so hard, even though you had to pick your words right in front of one of the greats.

He turned his head away as he finished speaking. He forgot how long it?s been since that day in the rain. Great things happened that day though, he got into the academy, right? Through this whole time in the academy, his Sharingan had helped him tremendously. He has learned so many Ninjutsu with his copying eyes. Akira though, squeezed his fist tightly. But how did he get the Sharingan? He wasn?t part of the Uchiha clan, so they were implanted. And what about his parents? Did he have any parents? His memory all began at the point of that rainy day. He?d just hope that he can find information about all this once they start traveling around.

Nerves had gotten to her before she realized it had happened. It started out as a mild fluttering of her heart, and slowly got to the point where her veins were jumping with adrenaline. Kana took a deep breath, reminding herself that they were only Genin, and that there was no need for her nervousness.

She reviewed her list once more, and smiled faintly as she went over the names once more in her head. Hyuuga Junko. Akano Kazuko. Akano June. Normally she would have considered it a pleasure to teach a member of the Hyuuga clan, but the presence of Kazuko drove that askew. She didn't know much about the students, just enough to realize that Kazuko had a chip on his shoulder when it came to anyone with talent?especially the Hyuugas. Well, she reminded herself, it would have been worse had he wound up with Sasuke.

Shaping the two delinquents into respectable shinobi would be a welcome challenge. If they didn't kill eachother first.

They weren't hard to pick out of the crowd, particularly the one with the red hair. Barely ninja for a couple of hours, Kazuko and Junko were already at the point of exchanging blows. Determined not to clean up any messes so early on, Kana placed herself between the two Genin.

It wasn't until the one Genin looked up that she knew who was who. The tell-tale white eyes of the Hyuuga clan said everything for her. "Hyuuga Junko, I presume?" She said simply, calm and unruffled.

Junko bowed in embarrassment and apology. "I..."

"No need for apologies. Just make up you two." That was all Kana said as she gestured for the two to follow.

The third Genin, the one she assumed was June, had stayed out of the tussle between the two boys. Kana smiled, recognizing a smart girl when she saw one. "Akano June," She called, "Come on. I may need you help keeping these two straight."

June looked up, smiling. "Okay," She said, hurrying toward the trio.

Kana led the three outside, interpreting their quiet as nervousness. "There's no need to be nervous here, and no need to be strangers," She said calmly. "So, call me Kana-Sensei, if that makes you feel better." She smiled at the three, "I'm really not as scary as the others, as long as nobody gets themselves in trouble.

"Now, because we shouldn't be strangers, I'd like to know what you want to be called and a little something about yourself. It doesn't matter who starts, just as long as everyone takes a turn."

Junko could have fallen over from laughter. This was the talk every new Genin had with his or her Jounin before they started to really train. It was all protocol, which Junko did not need or want to understand. Junko sometimes wondered if it really did help with anything.

Either way, it looked like the other two were not going to be too fore coming so Junko stood up. ?The name?s Junko Hyuuga. I am a part of the Hyuuga clan and my entire training as such revolves around the Byakugan. I?ve trained since I was three and there?s one person on this planet who I feel I can trust. Other than that, I enjoy fighting and I also enjoy the rain.?

?Very intresting Junko.? Kara-sensei said, nodding.

?Yeah, some people might actually take that rain and trust thing as weakness.? Kazuko whispered to June who hushed him.

?You know, my hearings not that bad either Kazuko. If you really have a problem, let it out so that everyone can hear it.? Junko stated, turning to the pair.

?No, Junko. I have nothing else to say, so sit down and shut up.? Kazuko replied.

Junko had half a mind to throw himself at Kazuko again, but he was not too sure Kana-sensei would take too kindly to that. No, Junko would wait for the right moment to show everyone that despite what Kazuko thought, Bloodline users did have an advantage.

?You know Kazuko, your little glove is pretty impressive for a child?s play thing. It even draws blood.? Junko said in mock praise.

Kazuko jumped up and went in to slash at Junko as Kana-sensei stepped in, pulling his arm up in the air.

?That?ll be enough from both of you. You both may not like each other, but at least hold some respect for one another. Junko, please keep your comments to yourself for the moment and Kazuko, you do the same. How about one of you two talk, uninterrupted?? Kara-sensei explained, glancing at Kazuko and June.

Junko didn?t say a word, instead he sat, already grinning at the stupid things he could see Kazuko saying.

Hart watched impatiently as Naruto-sensei made his way through the other two Genins, commenting on their ambitions. Before he could think through his ambitions thouroughly, Naruto stopped in front of him and mumbled something under his breathe.

Hart didn't even look up at him and continued to search his mind for some ambitions. I've got to find something... It can't be corny like my real ambition.

*Whack!*

Hart fell flat on his face and opened his eyes to see a fuming Naruto Uzumaki standing with his fist clenched and smoke pouring out of his ears. He started screaming things at Hart whom didn't hear them. Something about him being Hart's Jounin and that he should listen when he talks to him. Finally Naruto settled down and spoke calmly so that Hart actually knew what he was saying.

"What are your ambitions?!" he yelped. Okay, maybe that wasn't so calm after all. Hart straightened his shirt and fixed his hair. He glared at Keiji who was hiding a laugh.

"I," he started. "want to become the greatest Hokage to ever live! And I want to prove to everyone I'm not just some pretty boy and that I'm a real ninja!"

Naruto started to speak but was cut off by Hart, who kept talking away.

"I'm not done! I also want to confess my love to the one who has always treated me like a person and show her that I am worthy of her grace and beauty!" he said with excellent inspiration.

*Whack!*

Naruto started spazzing out on Hart again after he punched him saying something about never to interupt a future-Hokage. Hart lay on the floor in agony and scrambled to his knees. He would get this Jounin back for humiliating him in front of his friends and not-so-friends the only way he knew. Pranks.

June watched her cousin and Junko glare at each other, and decided that it was about time she spoke up.

"I'm Akano June, and Kazuko's my cousin. We didn't really know each other all that well up until now," she said, a huge grin on her face. She then attempted to hug Kazuko, but he just pushed her away. She wasn't abashed a bit.

"Since I was young, I've been experimenting with all sorts of weapons, but my favorite one is the chain-whip Father made me before he passed. Other than that, not all that much to say."

Junko grunted, and both Akanos glared. "Something you wanna say about my cousin, Junko?" said Kazuko.

"No, other than she's 'kina boring."

"What did you say?!" yelled Kazuko, looking as if he was to pounce at any second.

"It's okay, Kazuko. I can take care of myself," June said, trying to calm her cousin down.

"Heh, taking orders from a little girl, now? You're more pathetic than I thought," Junko said, a sneer on his face.

"Junko. Kazuko. June. That's enough," said Kana-sensei, stepping in once again. "Thank you, June, now Kaz-"

"Oh, but I'm not finished yet!" complained June, hurt on her face.

Junko snickered again, but June just ignored it this time. "I love to sing, my favorite color's white, and I HATE bugs."

"Are you finished now?" asked Kana-sensei, humored by the girl's playful attitude.

"Ya, I guess. If I remember anything else, I'll just letcha know," June replied, smiling and bouncing in her seat.

Then she waited with Knra-sensei and Junko for Kazuko to start.

Kazuko felt his blood boiling inside of him as a triumphant smirk started to spread across Junko?s face. He wanted to fight him now, beat him down to the dirt and tell him to never under estimate an Akano or anyone else at that matter. Though, he knew his new sensei would just hold them apart and then he would be on her bad side. Kana-sensei gave him a look that obviously meant she wanted him to go on and talk. Kazuko took a deep breath and exhaled loudly.

?Okay,? Kazuko started, pausing for a moment to remember everything, ?My name is Akano Kazuko and like June said, we?re cousins. There are a lot of stuff I enjoy, like relaxing in the forest, training, making up new jutsus, tar gazing, and pulling pranks with my buddy Hart.? At this, Kana?s eyes narrowed, ?But I usually only prank Yamanaka-sensei.? He quickly added in, not wanting to give her the wrong idea.

?There aren?t a lot of things I dislike, but I have few on my list. Mostly people who think of themselves better than others and a few people with blood line traits.? Kazuko could feel Junko?s eyes boring into him, as if he was really using the Byakugan at that moment, ?A couple of the ninjas I look up to are Hatake Kakashi and Uzumaki Naruto. I want to become an amazing ninja known through out the world, just like my father was. He was called Konoha?s Black Flame.? His voice faded slightly as he spoke the last sentence.

Kazuko sat down, his heart thumping against his chest. He peered over at Junko through the corner of his eye, expecting him to be sniggering or smirking at him, but to everyone?s surprise he just sat there, staring at the ground. A few moments of awkward silence set in before Kana coughed.

?Well, that?s good Kazuko.? She commented, still feeling the strange effects of silence, ?It?s good to know more about you three and I?m sure you?re all glad to know more about me as well. I?ll try my hardest to make all three of you amazing and well-known ninjas.?
Kana-sensei stood up and motioned for them to follow her.

Kazuko couldn?t understand why the Hyuuga boy was suddenly so quiet. He had been sure he would have made some kind of comment about his enjoyment of star gazing or ask him why a ninja with a blood line ability was a hero to him. Though, he continued to say nothing, his white eyes staring off into space in thought.

Sasuke nodded as Akira finished his introduction, each of them were unique with different personalities and varied specialities. But something bothered him, and his gaze landed on the Hyuuga girl, Nari. She seemed nervous, bothered and like she was holding something back.

The three genin were all watching him, seeing what they were going to be doing next. He sensed Nari carefully and felt a difference of energy from someone that had the Byakugan. He frowned thoughtfully, it so far appeared that she somehow hadn't inherited the Byakugan like usual Hyuugas. He blinked and his eyes were coated in red, he nodded as he looked at her, he could now definitely tell that she didn't have the ability. The genin were staring now, his red gaze was so intense. Black flooded into his eyes again and he nodded.

"I'm sorry for my mistake, Nari." Sasuke told her.

The girl turned her head away and looked at the ground, she was obviously embarrassed that he now knew. Sasuke sighed, it wasn't anything to be ashamed of if you didn't inherit a bloodline, it was just a chance to further prove yourself to your clan, that you're as good as any of the others that do have the advanced bloodline.

"Tell us, Nari. What is your speciality?"

"My speciality is jukens mixed with taijutsu in a combination."

"Good. Now, since we're all in a cell together, I want you to work as a team, because nothing can be accomplished if you're all working against each other even though it's still toward the same goal. I learnt that lesson well when I started out as a genin, and so will you." Sasuke reflected.

"Sometimes I will train with each of you individually so I can specifically help you to get better in your specialities. If it seems like I'm spending a lot of time with one student, I am not favouring them, it may be because they need more help. But if you ever need me then you can come to me straight away at any time, unless I'm with the Hokage. If you work with me, I'll help you, but you have to be willing to learn. Now, are there any questions you want to know about anything?"

There was silence for a while before Akira raised his hand. Sasuke nodded.

"Do you have Mangekyou Sharingan?" Akira questioned because Sasuke was the final User, and the only person left in the world that could have access to the final ability of Sharingan.

If possible, Sasuke's eyes darkened at the question. He remained quiet for a few seconds before answering.

"No, I don't. Do you know what you have to do to be able to get to that stage?"

The three students remained quiet, they didn't know. Sasuke considered not telling them, but thought it was part of their learning.

"In order to get Mangekyou Sharingan, first you must be a natural user, second, you have to have full Sharingan, and third, you have to kill your best friend." he told them. "I've killed my brother, but I hated him, if I was close with him like before, that would have served to set Mangekyou. So in order to get Mangekyou Sharingan...I would have to kill Naruto."

Unconsciously Sasuke lifted his hand to the nape of his neck, rubbing the Cursed Seal that sat there. He had almost killed Naruto on several occassions, but he was in control now, he didn't want that shocking power, he could do perfectly well without it.

"Any other questions?"

Daisuke shifted in unease. Imi and Ginmaru wrestled around a bit; Ginmaru trying to kick her off of him, and Imi retaliated by putting her weight on top of him. Their faces changed from pink to red, and were now deepening into a shade of purple. Daisuke looked up to Sho. The blind Jounin brought his arms to his chest and folded them comfortably. The fingers of his right hand tapped gently, patiently, on his left forearm.

?Shogo-sensei,? Daisuke finally spoke.

?I?m curious to see what color their faces make next. Aren?t you?? Sho smiled and held his hand out as if he were examining his sharp fingernails. Most of the Genin, and some Chuunin and Jounin, he?d come across found him even more bizarre for having such long nails. And not just because they were long and sharp, but they were also painted black.

Finally, coughing noises broke the silence between Imi and Ginmaru. Sho laughed as Imi tumbled down, first onto Ginmaru, then rolled off of him into the water. Ginmaru?s body, which he?d been desperately trying to keep on the seat of the fountain, dropped to the pebbled ground below. The two didn?t move. Deciding it was enough play-time, Sho nodded and looked down at Daisuke.

?Right,? he started, rubbing his hands together, ?Daisuke-kun, grab Ginmaru and follow me.?

Sho leant over the bench and scooped Imi from the water. Daisuke struggled to lift Ginmaru?s dead weight, but found the strength to wrap one of Ginmaru?s arms around his shoulders. Daisuke ended up dragging him, mostly, but followed his eccentric sensei into a meadow behind the Academy. Sho stopped in front of a large marble memorial stone and lay Imi on the grass. He motioned for Daisuke to rest Ginmaru against the stone. The conscious Genin looked around, waiting for the two to wake up. Sho crouched down beside Imi and reached into his back bag. He pulled out a small, linen pouch and held it to Imi?s nose. She immediately snapped up and scampered backwards.

?Egh, what is that?!? she rubbed feverously at her nose.

?It?s an herb I acquired in my journeys. The locals in the area called it ?waking the dead powder?. The odor of the herbs can wake you from your heaviest of sleep. It?s even more potent when you grind it up. It comes in handy for waking up the unconscious, and poisoning,? Sho explained while waddling to Ginmaru?s side, wafting the pouch in front of his face.

?I?ll get you, you little---? Ginmaru flailed his arm and landed a punch directly in Sho?s palm, ?Oh, apologies, Shogo-sensei.?

With a light chuckle, the Jounin rose to his feet and shoved the herbs into his pouch. Daisuke relaxed as he watched Imi and Ginmaru wake, and, to his relief, stay at a safe distance from one another. They didn?t even make an effort to lunge at each other again. Perhaps it was because they were still trying to get the horrid smell from their nostrils, or the towering Jounin patting his left thigh.

?Well, I don?t believe I?ve heard from you, Gin-kun,? he teased, ?If you can calmly introduce yourself--with no interruptions,? Sho turned towards Imi, and began to pace, ?then I will ask you to do it now. Once Ginmaru?s said his bit, I?ll properly introduce myself, answer whatever questions you have. I will then proceed to explain what is expected of you three and what you three will have to expect for your future. That is,? he stopped pacing, ?if you have a future.?

The three Genin glanced at one another, then at the Jounin. A hint of confusion glistened in their eyes. Sho crouched down and intertwined his fingers together. A smile formed once more, and his sightless face focused dead on with Ginmaru?s face.

?Let?s hear it, kid.?

"Oh, there's nothing that interesting to hear, I'm sure," Ginmaru said calmly, waving his hand dismissively.

"Humor me."

The genin sighed and ran a hand through his touseled hair. "Well, I'm Zensei Ginmaru. Since I'm a Zensei, I'm good with swords. Very good. I'm better alone than in a team, so my teammates better be able to handle themselves." He shot Imi a glare before continuing. "I don't like noisy people, or people who are unecessarily violent. I enjoy reading and sleeping during my free time."

"And what about an ambition?" Shogo said softly, quirking a visible eyebrow.

Ginmaru paused again, unsure of how to answer. He didn't want to reveal his murderous goal, they might not look kindly on that.

"To become the best swordsman I can," he finally stated, and was met with a dark chuckle.

"No, no," Shogo laughed, shaking his head. "Tell us your real ambition, Gin-kun. Don't give me that sugar coated shlock."

Ginmaru swallowed hard before steeling himself, eyes growing dark and tumultuous.

"My ambition...is to become the greatest swordsman ever, and kill my father." His voice was icy and sharp, resonating in the air like a challenge for any to dispute it. "And I will stop at nothing to make this a reality."

Well, isn't he interesting? Shogo asked himself. Next to the silver-haired boy, Daisuke fidgeted nervously, as this was the first time he'd heard someone make such a serious death-threat. Imi, on the other hand, just looked at her rival in mild surprise.

"Now, sensei, mind telling us about yourself?"

OOC: I forgot to include a minor detail in Sho's history, and wanted to let everyone know I will include it here. Also, it confuses a bit because the Sharingan was present in his village. Although, it was highly rare and it wasn't worried much about because (as I'll mention in the post) the Hidden Eye village was completely wiped out. So yeah...if it still confuses anyone, please PM me.

Well, isn't he intersting.. Sho scratched at his eyebrow. He felt a cold stare from Ginmaru; not necessarily in anger for forcing him to reveal his true ambition, but almost as if he'd lost himself in his morbid thoughts. Sho sighed, appreciating Ginmaru's honesty.

"No, sensei, mind telling us about yourself?" Ginmaru snapped out of his thoughts, and bringing Sho out of his.

"Of course," he remained crouched before the three young ninjas, "You all know my name, but I'll say it anyway. I am Zankokusa Shogo. You will address me as 'Shogo-sensei' or just 'sensei' until I see you fit to call me anything different. Is that understood?"

Sho stood up, and waited for the Genin to respond. Daisuke was the first, followed by Imi. Ginmaru tucked his hands under his arms, snickering slightly.

"Gin-kun, did you suddenly become a mute? I didn't ask the question to hear myself talk," Sho demanded.

"Yes, sensei. I understand. Could you please not call me 'Gin-kun'?" Ginmaru asked with a bit of a groan. His silver hair pasted itself to his face as he leaned back on the stone.

"I'll call you whatever I like. You three are mine until you pass to Chuunin, or fail," Sho's tone dropped from a mildly serious to ice cold, "Firstly, I am not a native to the Hidden Leaf. I am from the very far, and very grim village of Hidden Eye. Before you ask, yes, that village is non-existant now. It was destroyed several years ago, soon after I arrived here."

"Why was it destroyed, sensei?" Daisuke jumped in.

"Because of a rare, and unexplainable occurance in a certain bloodline; the Sharingan. No one knows why or how the Sharingan showed up in our village, but it was certain that whoever was born with this bloodline would immediately be rid of it. The Hokage at the time of my birth would make visits to each family's house soon after an expected infant was born. If the child possessed the eyes of Sharingan, he would sieze their eyes so they would not be able to use the technique. The night of my birth, I was smuggled out of my household in hopes to spare my eyes. My father and mother believed the Sharingan, being so rare, was a gift; not a curse. For the first four years of my life, I was able to disappear from the clutches of the Hokage. My adopted mother and I lived in peace, and believed the Hokage had given up search for me." Shogo paused, his voice trailing off. His right hand clutched a kunai. He played with it mindlessly as he continued.

"However, one afternoon, I was out fetching a pale of water when I was approached by Hogake's Anbu. Just one. I remember it as if it happened yesterday. I will never forget my fear and anxiety. I will never forget his voice. He spoke empty promises, but I being so young and naive believed his words. We left the little shack in the dead of woods. He took me back to the village where the Hokage had my eyes ripped from my skull," Shogo's hand tightened around the kunai, drawing blood.

The three Genin winced; Imi brought her hands to her face, tracing under her eyes with her fingers.

"So, for the lack of eyesight, I had to force my other senses to 'see' for me. As you can imagine, mastering chakra was absolutely necessary for my survival. Despite my criple, I wanted to be a ninja. I wanted to become an Anbu. My training was more intense than others, and insanely difficult. At the age of ten, I was able to call forth Hidden Eye's most powerful and infamous Genjutsu," Sho ignored the blood from his hand, it would be soaked in his bandages, and spun the kunai around his finger.

" '9 Hells' no Jutsu," Daisuke breathed.

"You've heard of it? Interesting. Even though I'm physically blind, I'm pretty good aim," Shogo smiled at Ginmaru and Imi, "with any weapon. I favor these," he reached behind his back and unsnapped the buttons of the holsters on his vest and pulled out two axes, "Though I use more Jutsu, these babies have saved my life numerous times. I believe that every ninja must rely on other sources rather than Jutsu. There are times where you will not be able to get one word out, so weapons are very valuable. I specialize in Genjutsu because I get the advantage in battle. I've mastered my blindness, I've lived with it for so very long. But for someone who's used to using his eyesight his entire life, and it to be suddenly taken from him, he becomes hopelessly disorientated during certain Genjutsus. Taking advantage of that, I can easily maneuver and take out my opponent."

Sho twirled his axes in each hand before swinging them back into their holsters.

"Now, my expectations for you three are extreme. I plan on dragging you through filth, blood, danger, and pain. You three, if you weren't strong to begin with, will be after I'm done with you. You will be unstoppable, untouchable, and incredibly capable of becoming Chuunin. This ain't no picnic, this isn't basic ninja training, this isn't the Academy," Shogo jerked his thumb over his shoulder to point towards the building, "Your training will be streneous, rigorous, and endless. I want, and won't settle for less, you to put aside your differences and work together. This is the real shit out here, kids.I understand the rivalry runs deep; but I promise you on my soul, if you cannot work together, you will fail--by death, or near death."

Imi and Ginmaru locked eye contact briefly.

" My job is to make the best ninjas that Konoha has to offer, not to babysit. You all are expected, as ninjas, to protect your village and Hokage with your life. What good are you to us if you die, or if you fail? And I'll say it again, I swear to you, if you cannot work as a team, you will fail. I do not show mercy to those who ignore my commands, or who make hardly an effort to improve and be the best they can. If you prove useless to me, you fail. If you act like a child, you'll fail. If you disrespect myself, any other Jounin, and each other, you'll fail. I ask for your obedience, trust, respect, attention, and confidence; deliver, and you might survive."

The three Genin looked at each other. Sho sensed their minds scrambled to put together what he just laid on their shoulders.

"Questions?" Sho walked behind Ginmaru to prop himself against the memorial stone. He looked down and amused himself by testing Ginmaru's patience with a blade of long grass tickling his ear.

The Genin have progressed gradually through missions, learning as they go, finding bonds with one another and forming new friendships. Where rivals once were, reluctant friendships have sprouted, and where animosity once lay, now teamwork has emerged. The young Ninja have changed, some more plainly than others, as well as their Jounin. It cannot be denied that each Cell has found a new family in its teammates.

The Chuunin exam is just around the corner, and each Cell has a week to train and prove to their Jounin that they are strong enough to be entered for the exam. They still have new things to learn, after all, because the journey to this Chuunin exam will be long and hard...

The Village of the Hidden Eye is rebuilding and, as such, it has been decided that the second Chuunin exam of the year will be held there, in order to further help in the building of the village. One day, they hope to be as great as Konoha.

Unbeknownst to the young Genin, they will be meeting an enemy much more powerful than they could have dreamed of. New challenges await them on their journey, the only question is, will they learn fast enough?

Imi?s feet dangled into the water of a clear stream, Daisuke standing next to her with a fishing rod in hand. She was glad of the sun, as it had been rare recently, and the afternoons were usually cold and grey. Sighing, the redhead flopped back against the grass, her usual green sweater now lying next to her, a black T-Shirt covering her torso. ?Dai-chan, you?ve been standing there for half an hour and you haven?t caught anything. Take a break.?

?Iei, Imi-san,? Daisuke smiled, keeping his eye on the water, ?Patience is key, I thought you would have learnt that by now.?

Imi shot a scathing glare up at her comrade before sitting up again, looking around for that pest Ginmaru. Okay, so they didn?t try to kill each other anymore?well, not that often, and he did seem to be growing up?but still, the memories were there, and Imi rather enjoyed having a rival in Ginmaru.

?Baka-chan, where are you hiding?? Imi called, causing Daisuke to wince as she splashed her feet in the shallow waters.

?I?m right behind you, fool.? Came the cool tones of Ginmaru, who promptly bopped Imi on the head with the hilt of his katana. Imi bent her head back to look up at the boy behind her, and scowled.

?Where did you get to??

?None of your business.?

?We?re family, you have to tell me.?

?You?re no family of mine!?

?Um?you two??

?I?m hurt, Ginny-kun!?

?Why, you??

Daisuke pushed his fishing rod between the pair, who were currently snarling at each other, to catch their attention. Both Genin looked to their team mate with a dual ?What?!?, only to be brought to attention by well placed kunai. Both turned, sheepishly, to see the smirking form of their sensei, up on a hill above the river.

?At it again like an old married couple, I?ll never understand?? he chuckled, ?Come on, you three, I?ve got something to tell you.?
