Ezekiel
'Not many more to go now,' the Hokage thought, trying to comfort himself. The Rookie's tended to drain him as soon as they entered the room. He was getting old now, and seeing their eagerness was almost too much. Kaname walked in with a tired smile on her face, her Cell behind her looking equally as tired. Kazuko looked at if his cheek was slightly swollen, and Junko's eye...the Hokage sighed deeply. He's put those two together in hopes that they would become better friends, but it seemed that would take quite a while. "Alright, you four," he began, "Doctor Enichi has requested that you go into Konoha's main forest to collect some rare herbs for him. It's simple, really, but might take you a while to get to the exact location." Kaname rubbed her temples as if nursing a headache and reached out to take a map from the Hokage's hand. "Right in the centre of the forest?" she groaned, never having gone that far herself. She glanced back at her Cell and groaned at the thought of a whole day of hot weather with those three. "Okay, Hokage-sama. We'll go and get ourselves ready..." the small woman sighed and pressed her fingers into Junko and Kazuko's spines to push them out, her nerves already frayed from the constant bickering between the two Genin. "Good luck, Kaname, and watch out for the bugs." June shuddered. --- Again, just refer to your PM for the more detailed side to this mission. Obviously a D rank mission wouldn't involve man-eating plants. I gave this to you guys for a reason, so have fun with it. Amuse yourselves. ^_^
Random
June walked through the streets with the other three in her cell. She walked slightly behind them, and stared blankly forward. Bugs...a mission with bugs. I HATE bugs. They're creepy, they look creepy, they feel creepy. They're just plain disgustting. "June, are you ok?" asked Kaname-sensei. "You look like you've seen a ghost." "Um...*gulp*...ya, I'm okay," she replied, not looking at her instructor. "Heh," Junko sneered. "Is the little girl afraid of going into the forest?" "Shut the fu-" started Kazuko, but was, yet again, stopped by Kaname-sensei. "You two must learn to get along, especially now that we have missions," she said, all 5'1" of her bearing down, or up, at the two boys. "Now, June. Are you okay with this mission?" "I guess. I just really, really hate bugs...they're so icky," she finished. June looked at the two boys. Junko was stifling a laugh, and even Kazuko was trying not to smile. "You two think that I can't do it? FINE! Watch me! I'll be the first one there, and the first one out," she yelled at them, turned, and started to march towards the outer gates of the city. I'll show them, good for nothing boys...hmph. "June, wait for the others," called out Kaname-sensei as she tried to catch up to June. "You two, hurry up." The two boys watched June walk away for a while. They glanced at each other, saw the humor on the others' face, then scoweled at each other. "Your cousin's a freak, Akano," Junko said as he ran to catch up to Kaname-sensei and June. "Come back here and say that, Junko! I'll make mincmeat outta your face!" yelled back Kazuko, bringing up the rear of the cell. He caught up with the other three just outside the city, and Kaname-sensei turned to say something, obviously about the mission. OOC: Kina short, but it'll do. Setting up the stage for the forest, and all that. If you want me to change anything, JJ, KKC, Stark, lemme know! Oh, and I kept the same color as our cell for the font, instead of using the b/g! ~.^
JJ
?OK team. This mission may seem easy, but as you know, the forest is not really the safest place in Konoha. I want you all to watch out for one another. That?s not too much to ask, is it?? Kana-sensei questioned, laying her hand on both boys? shoulders. Neither of them seemed to want to respond, both looking at the ground and drawing their feet through the dirt. Junko could see she was ready to pop both of them upside the head, so he quickly answered, ?Yes Kana-sensei, I?ll make sure that I?m the only one that?ll harm Kazuko.? If looks could kill, Kazuko?s would have been one bloody and torturous one. He growled and quickly retorted, ?I?ll look out for June. Junko has his eyes. What does he need us for?? Kana-sensei faulted for a second and then quickly said, ?What kind of team spirit is that? How do you know that Junko doesn?t need a team?? ?I know, because the only person that can stand him is Imi and even then he doesn?t truly respect her.? Kazuko exclaimed. Junko was not sure how he should respond to that. Imi meant everything to him and he was not sure he could live without knowing she would be there for him. If nothing else, in Junko?s eyes, one of the things that bound him to Imi was the respect they had for one another. ?Let?s just get on with the mission. Arguing with you isn?t worth my or anyone else?s time.? Junko said posh, walking towards the woods. Kana-sensei, June, and Kazuko all stared quizzically at the boy. That was not something expected from him and Kazuko seemed to grin. He had found a weak spot. The three quickly walked to keep up with him as the forest enclosed around them. The first sign was the absence of pure sunlight. Everything seemed to take on shadows as the group penetrated deeper into the forest. After about twenty minutes, Kana-sensei pulled out the map and scratched her head. Junko looked at the map from her right side and June from her left. Kazuko seemed interested in a flower growing on a tree and he was poking at it with a kunai. Three things happened at that point simultaneously. A little spider glided down on his web and landed on June?s shoulder. June screamed and threw her hands up, ripping the map in half and scattering the two halves into the wind. Meanwhile, the flower that Kazuko had been poking at became annoyed and snapped at Kauko, causing him to jump backwards. Junko, who was trying to keep a level head, noticed the spider and brushed it onto the ground. June in turn stopped screaming, until Kazuko bumped into her and scratched her neck with his kunai. This sent June into another fit of hysterics, causing Kana-sensei to throw her hands up in anger. ?Enough June. There are no bugs on you anymore. Kazuko, don?t wander anymore please. The map?s gone, so we?re going to have to improvise.? Junko kept a stone face as Kana-sensei looked around trying to get a feeling for their surroundings. Junko also looked around, noticing many spiders? webs and big, beautiful flowers that seemed to have splashes of all the colors in them. Junko figured he should just enjoy the scenery while it was there, because deeper in the forest probably was not as nice. Junko chuckled as June finally got a hold of herself. ?Girls.? He thought to himself. OOC: You know, doing this without a map?ll be more fun, right? (If we want to keep the map, I?ll change it.) KKC
Kazuko was sure to watch out for the brightly colored plants now. He couldn't help but notice that when he walked by one it would turn slowly and watch him walk by. It was a very new experiance and a bit creepy too. Although she was doing a bit better, June continued to frantically look all around her for anything that might have six legs and crawl on her. Kazuko couldn't help himself from gasping and pointing at an imaginary bug on her arm. She would let out a shriek and spaz for a moment before Kana-sensei glared at her and calmed her down. Then she would give Kazuko a good thump on his head. "It's a good thing none of us are part of the Aburame clan." Junko snickered as the three of them walked in a line behind their sensei. June seperating the two boys. "The Aburame clan?" June asked nervously. "Yeah, you know about them. Right?" Kazuko replied with a evil grin on his face. June nervously shook her head. "When they are born, bugs are harvested into their bodies and feed off of the chakra in return for aiding them in battle." Junko finished, a glint in his eye. June looked completally terrified and the color in her face quickly changed to a snow white. Kazuko and Junko held back their laughs and almost smiled at each other, but then thought other wise and scowled instead. "Alright guys, hold off on the bug comments for a while." Kana-sensei told them for the tenth time. The good thing about it was that, in a strange way, Kazuko and Junko were kind of getting along... but not really. They continued walking, navigated by Kana who was getting very frustrated. She had never been this deep into the forest and with out a map she wasn't completally sure where they were. She had a good idea, but who knows how far off they really were. "Hey!" Kazuko exclaimed running a head of the group and scooping something up from the ground, "Uh, Kana-sensei..." The red haired genin slowly help up his kunai, the one from earlier that he had dropped after the first plant snapped at him. The short jounin growled something under her breath as June and Junko slowly backed away, not wanting to get in the line of fire. "I wish we had the map." June said softly. "I wish you hadn't destroyed the map." Junko grumbled. Kazuko was about to snap something back to the white eyed boy, but yet out a yell instead as Kana scooped him up (if that was possible) by the rim of his shirt and jumped into the air, landing on a tree branch. She ploped Kazuko down beside her and looked down at the other two. "I hope you have good balance. From now on we're traveling by tree." She announced to her team. Junko and June nodded and nimbly leapt up to branches of the same tree. "She's stronger than I thought." Kazuko thought, rubbing the spot on his neck. Random
Balancing on the branches a few feet above the floor, June followed her cell-leader through the trees. She was going cautiously for two reasons. First, the heights. They've always kind of given her butterflies. Second, the neumerous spiderwebs that made home in the dence growth of the trees. "Kana-sensei?" Kazuko asked cautiously, knowing his Jounin was still angry. "Why are we up in the trees?" "Because it's good training," Kaname-sensei replied. "Besides, we have a better view, giving us a better chance of seeing the herbs." "Uh, Kana-sensei?" said June, hesitant as Kazuko. "Didn't Doctor Enichi's letter say that the herb was found on a small plant, hidden under dence shrubbery and extreamly hard to find?" Junko snickered, but quickly silenced himself when the other three shot looks of daggers his way. Kazuko could be heard muttering under his breath, but Junko either decided to ignore it, or didn't hear. "Yes, that is true," replied Kaname-sensei, impressed at June's memory. "Still, my points are no less valad. Thank you for voicing your concern." June was proud of herself, and even forgot about the buggs all around her. That was a mistake. Just as she hopped a good seven feet or so from one branch to another, she got tangled up in a spiderweb in midair. "Ahhhh! Geteroffme!" Her screames quickly changed, as she fell to the forest floor. One of the larger plants, which was watching her fall, had grabbed ahold of a corner of her shirt, which happened to be the only part of her not wraped in the spiderweb netting. "Kaname-sensei! Kazuko! HELP!" June screamed as the plant dragged her closer to it. She wouldn't normally be scared of the plant, seeing as it was so small. But, as the fates would have it, because of the spiderweb wrapped closely around her she had no way to defend herself and could get seriously hurt. Damn, she thought. Some predicament I've gotten myself into now. She glanced up to yell out for help yet again, but then saw that the spider, and all of her little babies, had come down to take their revenge on their broken home. Great. She screamed long and hard, and saw Junko jump down from the trees onto the forest floor just before she stooped over, succoming to shock and terror.
KKC
From the tree tops Kazuko jumped down after Junko. The Hyuuga pulled out a few shuriken and threw them at the man eating plant. The needles stuck into the plants tops bulb that represented the top of a mouth. It hissed angrily, but continued to pull the now limp June closer (who was also covered in spiders). "Kazuko, try to free June. Junko, you take down the stupid plant." Kana-sensei ordered from above. It wasn't a terrible situation and if things got out of hand she could always step in. She wanted to see how her new pupils communicated in battle. Kazuko nodded his head and pulled the claws of his rouga onto his fingers. "I'll show them what I can do." Kazuko grinned to himself and did three hand seals, careful not to scratch himself with his clawed weapon. The tips of the claws started to glow slightly as Kazuko transferred an amount of chakra to them. This area of the body was a difficult spot to transfer chakra, but he had been practicing. If he could just... "Damn!" Kazuko cursed to himself as the chakra suddenly left his fingers. He still didn't have good enough chakra control for this. He just hoped Junko hadn't seen his weakness. He would just have to do it normal. With a swift swipe of his rouga the spider web that June had been tangled in was sliced into pieces. The spiders scurried away from her body in fear of also being slashed. "I can still use my other one." Kazuko said aloud to himself. Once again he made a few hand signs and prepared his chakra. "Kenkaze no jutsu!" Kazuko called and swiped his arm down toward the vine that the plant was holding June by. A blade of wind flew from Kazuko's arm and neatly sliced through the plant. The red haired genin smiled, happy with his accomplishment and lifted June, who was still half out of it, up in his arms. Using pure strength Kazuko leapt up to the tree and landed next to Kana-sensei. Gently he rested his cousin against the trunk. "Now, let's see what Junko's been doing."
JJ
?I?m battling a plant.? Junko thought upset as he tossed a kunai. The plant had lost its food, so now it was totally focused on Junko. Junko quickly activated his Byakugan and watch as Kazuko jumped back up with June. Now it was him and the not so puny plant. He tossed a shuriken and jumped up, hoping to have distracted the plant. It hissed and a vine whipped out at Junko. He sliced at with a kunai and landed on a branch next to the plant. Using his juken here would be pointless, so he opted for another round of shuriken. They stuck into the plant and it hissed pitifully. It was towards it end, so Junko jumped back up to the others. Kana-sensei looked pleased, as did Kazuko, although he was pleased with himself. ?How?s she?? Junko asked, motioning at June. ?She?ll be fine in a while, although she needs to be woken up.? Kana-sensei answered, pulling out a satchel. ?Is that?.? Kazuko started. ?Yes, it is. ?Waking the dead? powder.? Kana-sensei answered gravely. ?Kana-sensei, are you gonna explain it now, or just use it?? Junko asked impatiently. ?Well, it?s very potent for one and in this form it?s even more potent. It?s good for poisoning and awakening things, although I suggest you use as a poison only as a last resort. It?s smell is highly noticeable and it can easily destroy your efforts.? Kana-sensei said. Kana-sensei bent over and slowly brought the bag under June?s nose, causing her eyes to open and immediately start to water. ?Oh my? what was that?? ??Waking the Dead Powder?. You were pretty out of it.? Kazuko said, offering a hand. June took it and hopped up, brushing the spider webs off her. ?Thanks you two.? ?No problem, cousin.? Kazuko answered. ?Try to be more careful, ne?? Junko said, grinning. ?I think I saw the herb on the ground floor.? June exclaimed suddenly. ?You did?!? Junko yelled, surprised. ?We really were that close.? Kana-sensei murmured to herself. ?Let?s go get it!? Kazuko said, happily. The group jumped down and quickly collected it, smiles on all three of the Genin?s faces. They found the herb without killing each other. To Junko, that was progress right there. He would never admit to anyone, but Kazuko and June really weren?t all that bad. ?Well, let?s get this to the doctor. He?ll be expecting us.? Kana-sensei said, jumping back into the trees. June and Kazuko followed together and Junko brought up the rear. He was not ready to integrate himself totally into the group. Not yet. He just could not bring himself to put all his trust into the other three. Someday soon, but not just yet?
