Redemption
Thanks for the inspiration for the title Doukeshi! It's true. Dead men do tell no tales. But I'm here to tell you a tale about a man - a dead man to be precise. His name was Gold D. Roger. Now this man was the one and only Pirate King. Aye, the Pirate King. Fame, power, wealth - he had it all. And even on the day of his execution, he held himself like a proud warrior with a devious grin. Even in his final moments, all he did was smile. I know all of this because I was there 15 years ago. I watched the infamous Pirate King die when I was a child. But why am I telling you this? It's all because of One Piece. A man had yelled at Roger just before his death, asking the Pirate King about his legendary treasure he had hidden in the Grand Line. I remember the Pirate King saying " I left it all in One Piece!". My adventure started a year ago when I joined a pirate crew called 'The Cross-Scar Pirates'. My captain's name was Cross-Scar Kane. He was known throughout East Blue for his two-sword style of fighting. It was him who took me aboard his ship and taught me how to be a true pirate, becoming one of my greatest friends in the process. However, it was just three months ago when our so-called friendly first mate, Zerus Pearl, and some of the other mates on the ship mutinied against the captain. They killed the captain and stole the ship and the map Kane had obtained to find One Piece. Myself and some of my most loyal friends managed to escape the bloodbath upon our ship by diving into the dark sea. It was mere luck that we were picked up by a merchant vessel days later and taken to Loguetown, my hometown. There, we've spent the last two months recoperating and organising our return. Now, we want to sevenge reveng for our slaughtered captain and comrades. This is our story. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aye me-hearties! I welcome ye to me RPG! Kairi
Name: Joseph (withholds his last name due to secrecy, goes by many other alias's) Nickname: Joey Age: 29 Gender: male Appearance: Short Bio: For as long as Joey can remember, he's always been a thief, whether that entailed stealing from other children at a young age, or finding dirt on other people and blackmailing them...Joseph has always been a part of the criminal world. But like all thieves, the ultimate goal was to land a position on a ship...to become a pirate. At the age of 20, Joseph was quickly becoming a trafficer of information, especially in the Caribbean. Foreign clients would come to him to gain an advantage or upper-hand in a variety of different situations, needing his expertise in finding such information. One fateful evening, Joseph was betrayed by his clients who turned out to be the British officers and arrested him. The only reason they even recognized him or knew who he was was the soldiers were actually traitors trying to flee England. Joseph told them who he was, and they decided to turn him in so they could gain favor with the queen. However, as the British ship sailed for England, it was raided by pirates. At first they tortured Joseph and the others out of spite till the first mate recognized him and asked his Captain to release him. All the British soldiers were killed to hide Joseph's identity and dropped him off at the nearest port. Eight years later, Joseph is still working with pirates to improve their surivability against the British and other campaigns against them whether information is required, or for service on their ships. Because Joseph still looks like a civilized Britain, it's difficult to refer to him as a pirate. Just recently, while sailing on a local merchant ship, a band of pirates were found in the sea and were immidiately cared for under Josephs approval and order. Because of him being saved by pirates years before, he has offered to help them in whatever way possible using all his contacts and skills at their disposal. Short Personality: Joey is a free-spirited individual who loves the open blue. Sometimes he losses himself in his thoughts which he puts down on paper; being a writer is a hobby of his. Along with this free spirited persona, he is very good at what he does in terms of manipulation within and out of the system of government. Because of his many identities, a certain isolational feelings flood his mind at times, which he enjoys...having that kind of freedom. Position on Ship: Informant Weapons: Joseph also weilds a typical musket over his shoulder and pistol on his belt. Devil's Fruit power: none Dream: Ever since he got into this business, Joseph has always dreamed of settling down and having a family someday with many sons and daughters. That he would have enough money to never have to leave the sea again by living next to the ocean...but continue to be the best in the business. Albert Flasher
One Piece. Sweet. Name: Chris DeWolf Nickname: DeWolf Age: 24 Gender: Male Appearance: Chris DeWolf Short Bio: DeWolf grew up in a small coastal. Very quaint, laid-back place, with a colourful cast of nice residents and the like. It had it's share of bad apples, sure, but they were tolerable. DeWolf's parents were fishers, so his life at sea began early. They'd somtimes go away for months at a time so it became like a second home for him. When DeWolf was 12, their boat was caught in a terrible storm. His father lashed him and his mother to the mast to keep them from being swept over board, but before he could secure himself he was swept into the ocean - never to be seen again. After the storm ended, DeWolf and his mother drifted at sea for weeks; their sails had been shredded by the storm and their rudder had been torn away, they had no choice but to hope somone happened upon them. They had limited stores of water left aboard and most of the fish had been lost overboard during the storm. After days of being adrift, they were finally found. A pirate ship, captained by Cross-Scar Kane, had spotted them and come to search for loot; what they'd found was a half-dead boy clinging to the body of his mother, who'd died of dehydration only hours before. Most of the crew wanted to slit his throat and see if there was anything valuable onboard; but Cross-Scar Kane decided instead to take him aboard the ship. Most of the crew questioned why they'd take a child aboard their ship when they were in search of One Piece, but Cross-Scar Kane kept him anyway. It didn't take long for his sailor sense to become noticed. He knew his way around a boat as well as anyone and was very obediant. He did all the little menial tasks, like scrubbing the deck and repairing the sales, and became well-liked by the crew for his aimiable attitude and fearless aproach to doing... anything. He also became known quickly for his marksmanship; it was Cross-Scar Kane who first learned just how accurate he was with a crossbow, and he learned very quickly. It wasn't just with a crossbow that he was accurate - he could hit a target kilometers away with a cannon, if the gun was of good enough quality, and split a cork with a knife from 25 feet. He was always a faithful friend of Cross-Scar Kane. Short Personality: Despite all he's been through, DeWolf has always been a laid-back, go-with-the-flow kind of guy. Talkative and aimiable, he doesn't anger quickly. Cool and collected, he rarley gets frustrated with things or afraid. His one major fault is his fearlessness. He rarley considers the consequences of his actions, but isn't necessarily brash or hot-headed. Position on Ship: Gunner Weapons: He uses a crossbow, as seen in appearance. Dream: To find One Piece, buy his own island, and lie in a hammock all day, sipping island drinks, surrounded by several beautiful island dancers. Pretty simple dream, really. *can't believe he wrote 'Cross-Star Kane' several times*
Redemption
OOC: Love the banner Ziggy. Sign-up Name: Kura Nozomi Nickname: The Sakura Samurai Age: 25 Gender: Female Appearance: See attachments Short Bio: Kura was born in Loguetown, the same town the Pirate King was born and died in. At the age of 10, she witnessed the Pirate King's execution and the statement about One Piece was the reason she wanted to become a pirate. Originally, her goal was to find One Piece, but her goal changing slightly over time. When she met Cross-Scar Kane, it was then that Kura realised her dream wasn't to find One Piece, or become the Pirate King. It was to travel the world with a group of friends that she loved like family - something she didn't have much experience of. Cross-Scar Kane took Kura onto his ship and taught her how to be a pirate. Now, you may think that is strange, but there is a certain code that Kane taught her that he thought was very important and needed to be passed down to someone. But then, that unfortunate mutiny occured. Ever since then, Kura hadn't been the same. She lost some faith in being a pirate and what a pirate stands for. Her goal changed completely to the revenge for her captain and comrades. Ever since then, she hasn't been the same. Short Personality: Kura's personality huh? She's determined down to a fault and won't back down to anything or anyone, which some of the time can get her into a lot of trouble. She is also very proud of being a pirate, and of her crew and her ex-captain. Normally a bright and chirpy person, Kura just wants to have fun along the journey as well as achieve her goal. The only thing that makes her serious is fighting and Zerus. Position on Ship: Captain/musician Weapons: The katana in the appearance attachments. It's called Kichikumonji, or Heaven's Cloud (I just made it up so don't spear me if that isn't what it really translates to). Devil's Fruit power: Sakura-Sakura Fruit - Most of Kura's long pink hair turns into sakura blossoms, now leaving her with short hair. Kura can manipulate the phsyical properties of the sakura blossoms to her whim. However, she uses this power rarely. Astdis
Name: Maxcine DeCree Nickname: shipmates call her Max, she?s known as the Gypsy Age: 26 Gender: female Appearance: 5?7?, short rich brown hair and bright blue eyes, has a scar on her right arm and across her back. Wears many colored silk sashes and family medallions. Short Bio: Maxcine comes from a long line of gypsies. Due to this background she had a natural talent for brewing everything from ale to medicines. She hasn?t seen her family since she was 16. Once of age, it?s in her family?s tradition to travel according to their skills. Some are minstrels, others hunt the forests, some become apothecaries or tell the futures of kings and peasants. But they never stay in the same place too long. And all were trained from birth to survive. Maxcine boarded the pirate ship Black Rose when she was 17 and served nearly 8 years on it?s boards. She went from being a cook?s assistant to ship?s gunner. The crew dwindled over the years until there were only five members left onboard. Some left of free will, but others vanished. At first Maxcine was suspected in these disappearances because of her mysterious aura. But they lacked any actual evidence and the captain refused to believe it was her. He decided to put the ship ashore for a while to keep any more of the crew from being harmed. They split up to find other positions in their trades. It was then she boarded the ship under Cross-Scar Kane. When the mutiny arose, Maxcine escaped with the others loyal to Kane. She has always believed in serving under good men or women. Just because they?re pirates, doesn?t mean they aren?t also good and loyal people. Just because they?re pirates doesn?t mean they don?t have a cause worth fighting for. Short Personality: Some whisper of a "devil's fruit" in her talent for brewing but it's not, it's something far deeper in her blood than that. It's her gypsy blood that gives her a reputation for being "untamable". Maxcine is very charismatic and beautiful, but is more comfortable once men accept her as an equal or a fighter rather than an object. She?s known for her deadly aim and lightning reflexes. Position on Ship: can work as a gunner or swordswoman Weapons: also carries an assortment of throwing knives Dream: She was born with a traveling and fighting spirit, but she wishes she could find some constant, like a man to love her who would travel and fight at her side, or a family connection of some kind, but nothing in her life so far has been remotely constant. Blayze
Name: Alexander Murphy Nicknames: Once known as "Bloodbathy" Murphy, he is mostly known only as Murphy to the rest of the crew Age: 32 Gender: Male Appearance: Murphy is a tall, lean figure, with not much muscle to show. But he is strong, with sinewy muscles that disguise strength with thin body shape. He has a thick mop of black hair, which falls into his eyes, and a small black goatee beard. He wears a white shirt, with his chest open to the elements, and a par of black breeches with brown leather boots. When he is outside, he wears a black travelling coat over his shirt. Short Bio: Murphy has never known anything other than the life of a pirate. His father served under the Pirate King, as the ship's doctor, and as the boy was growing up, he learnt the ways of medicine from his father. Although Alexander never spoke to the Pirate King, he was sure that he remembered him. However, when the Pirate King was arrested and executed, so was Murphy's father. He was one of the first of Roger's crew to be executed, and as such, no-one paid much attention. Except Alexander. As soon as he was able, he joined the crew of Cross-Scar Kane, becoming the Ship's Doctor at an early age. He was also trained to be a good fighter, and often assisted in any battles that happened to occur. He was asked, one day, by Zerus, to join him in the mutiny. Murphy, intensely loyal to Captain Kane, declined, and warned Zerus off the idea. But he dismissed the information as nothing, and didn't inform anyone. But when the mutiny did come about, he abandoned ship with a few others, and now they search for Zerus and hope to ge tto One Piece before him. Personality: Murphy has always been calm under pressure, even managing to stay calm and crack a few jokes under heavy fire. He was well-liked by the crew, and that was why Zerus asked him to join the mutiny. However, Murphy is unwaveringly loyal to anyone who he trusts, and he trusted Kane. He has been troubled, recently, though, by thoughts that maybe he was, in part, responsible for the death of Captain Kane. Position on Ship: Ship's Doctor, although he can be fairly handy in a firefight, or close-quarters combat for that matter. Weapons: see attachments Dream: Murphy doesn't truly have a dream. He has everything he wishes for, a career he enjoys, good friends, but the one thing he does hope for nowadays is that the traitor Zerus will get what is coming to him. SlowChemical
Name: Nasca Lore Nickname: Compass Age: 23 Gender: Female Appearance:Girl on the Left Short Bio: Nasca father was a famous navigator. He taught her everything he could. How to a draw a perfect map, navigate with a compass, navigate with the stars, everything he could. She studied day in and day out. Her skills grew slowly though. She sometimes couldn?t pin point the exact latitude and longitude of there postion. Nasca?s map drawing skills were great, but that is because she learned to make an exact copy of her father?s maps. She knew how to work a compass perfectly by reading her father?s books. She never used navigating with the stars yet she always kept that skill in the back of her mind. Her father would always said that Nasca navigation skills were not as great as his. That he was the best and she would never surpass him ever. Nasca believe her father greatly on this. Her navigation skills were a bit weak. She studied very hard to perfect her pin pointing position skills. She was too proud to ask her father for any help on this. Nasca soon grew into a shell were she thought that she can never be like her father or even come close to surpassing him. If she grew out of her shell she could go farther then her father ever could. She went into the sea in the journey to learn better about navigation, advised by her father. Cross-scar Kane found her on a small boat starved half to death. Nasca didn't set out with enough money and out of stupidity forgot her map. After Cross-scar found Nasca he took her aboard. She felt like he was her second father almost since her first father wasn't so nice to her. She felt saddened with Cross-scare Kane meet his demise. She never knew how they can kill such a wonderful man. She didn't know to take revenge or to crawl into a ball and cry. To proud to cry she set out with Kura and the rest. Short Personality: She is greatly defensive of her navigation skills. The only time she speaks out loud and shows her mild temper. Yet she is mostly quite and only speaks when telling the captain of there position and which direction to do. She is very proud yet doesn't like to show it. She wonders around the ship reading her most praised possession; her father?s navigation book and some notes that he took in his adventures out into the sea. Position on Ship: Navigator Weapons: Pin needles and two small handguns. Devil's Fruit power: None Dream: To surpass her father and perfect her latitude and longitude skills. She also wanted to be the number one navigator of the world.
Soliel
Name: Gerina Falon Nickname: Gari (her friends will also call her "Shorty" on occation, just to tick her off) Age: 21 Gender: Female Appearance: Clicky! Minus the wings, of course! Usually wears black cargo pants with black boots, a red, kimono-style top, and two crossing sheaves on her back to keep her swords. Short Bio: Gari was born in the land-locked town of Copper's Village. When she was only five, her home was attacked by bandets, and in the confusion, she was kidnapped. Her captors forced her to work in the dingy kitchens of a sweatshop located in the costal town of Baroar. There, Gari made out a meager existance for the next ten years. The only possitive things she believes she gained out of that experience was some decent skills with a blade, and the ability to make even the most horrid gruel taste edibile. When Gari was about 15, she managed to escape the confinment of the sweatshop during the confusion caused by a pirate raid. She snuck abord their ship in order to nab some food and other provitions, but ended up getting caught. Gari thought her life was over right then and there, but the captain, Cross-Scar Kane, had a proposition for her: if Gari could prove useful on his ship, she would be alloud to live, as a member of his crew. She then became the cook's assistant on board Cross-Scar's ship. Short Personality: As not only the youngest, but the shortest (5ft/1.5m), Gari is often not seen as much of a fighter, but this girl's tough. Farto the Magic
Name: Keith Barott Nickname: Mr. Barott Age: 34 Gender: Male Appearance: Mr. Barott Short Bio: An outlaw from a young age, its easy to see why piracy was an easy job to fall into. Mr. Barott joined a crew at the ripe age of 14 and sailed with them for many years, until he heard talk of a tribe of island natives who had a massive treasure store. Apparently island savages don't like it when pirates try to steal their stuff and kill them and the island cannibals ate up his crewmates. He was spared however, when the island natives were visited by a missionary. Still in debt from the failed island raid, Mr. Barott has received countless black spots, which he solves by moving frequently. He isn't an actual cook, but lying has never really deterred him. If its edible, it gets boiled in brandy! Short Personality: A fatherly fellow to the younger crew-mates. But still an incredibly greedy man, who's not above theft. He holds a deep-seated hatred for island-natives, since they almost killed him. He's also a "devoted" religious man, who knows nothing of religion, but pretends to. Position on Ship: Cook Weapons: Cutlass he found in a tidal pool. Guest nickeless123
Name:Ned Humphrey Nickname: Nasty Ned Age: 32 Gender: Male Appearance: My pic Short Bio: I was originally a cabin boy in the french navy under a captain by the name of Ralph Black. He took me in and treated me kindly by giving me a good set of lashings every day. I eventually got off that Junker by stealing away on a british warship. when I was found I was again lashed, stowaways are not appreciated. However, when the captain saw that I was a good hearty lad, he took me in as a son. He took me in a son, and this time, as a kind father. He taught me everthing I know. Then one day, when the fog was thick a ship flying a jolly roger and black sails came up on our bow. I put up one heck of a fight. I was the only man spared. I watched as they slaughtered the captain and crew. I hated that ship and its crew, but my survival insinct was to strong. The captain told me I had two choices, I join his crew, or I join my, what he referred to as, my ex-crew. He should not have given me the option. When we came into the first port I sabotagued the powder kegs, and blew the ship sky high. I had to run, the crew was not on board as planned. Since then I have served on various crews, always wary of someone from that old ship. I have a feeling that they are still angry, and that one day, they will come for me, all that wrath and vengence I poured out on them that day, will kindly and politly returned. It's true that dead men tell no tales, but men that should be dead and aren't, those are the ones you should be worried about. Short Personality: I am honor driven but I have a dark side. The whole crew doesn't nessecarily know my past, and I don't like to talk about it. In battle I am fierce and care little of my own safety. I preffer jumping down on people from the rigging to catch them off gaurd than a fair fight. Position on Ship: Navigator Weapons: I carry a double barrel blunderbus, a dagger that is slightly bent, and the cutlass of my old British captain. Devil's Fruit power: I eat fruit, therefore I don't get scurvy. (But you really need to explain this better, I have no idea waht it is. If you explain it, maybe I will give myself one.) Dream: I would like to come into a large sum of money in order to buy my own ship and crew, become a captain myself, and bring vengeance, finally and completely to that Devilish pirate crew that slaughtered so many good men.
