Sojio
Hey guys/gals Whats your favourite anime soundtrack(s) and why Mine personally would have to be the R.O.D The TV Soundtrack. I am a student of Jazz and i really like the Jazz and fusion tracks on this album. Plus the contrast between Upbeat to ballad is excellent and well created. Also the Soundtrack to Princess Mononoke and Howls moving castle are great for the same nature. OH And please write why you like these soundtracks or else this thread will be closed Sojio,XD
Delta
For albums, it's a tie between: Cowboy Bebop's Tank! THE! Best! (yes! that's! what's! written! on! the! cover!)

One of the few soundtracks I can listen to without skipping a track. It's a melange of music genres, ranging from catchy blues to really pop-py pop, and it's got these really interesting track notes.
The yellow and blue theme is eye-catching too! (it's a marketing strategy, I tell ya!)
and Uta no ARUBUMU from Sakura Wars

I love this one to pieces! It's got the full versions of the opening and ending songs from the first season plus image songs of each Hana-gumi member.
It's also has that Cinderella piece from Sakura's stage debut. Maria's masculine singin voice is heavenly.*swoons*

Try to limit the "chat slang" (and exclamation marks) to make your post more articulate. Also, the content in your post is rather low, so please try to expand on all of your future posts. For example, you could explain why you like the 002 version of the Chobits soundtrack more than the others. vorboten
my 2 faves are flcl and cowboy bebop. flcl is my fave, the pillows are awsome, and the music fits the series so well. the way they use guitar in such an emptional way it gives the series heart. my fave song from flcl is hybrid rainbow, and i even put it on my myspace page. and one of the pillows fan sites (the one that i linked the song from) put me as their #1 freind lol. i was wondering why i was getting all these pillows fans asking to be my friend, well i guess since my page is done almost interly in flcl i qualify for beeing the #1 fan lol. bebop is wonderful as well. they use such a wonderful mix of music. some one commented on how even if the song donsnt seem to fit it does any way. i never saw it that way. the choices for the music are impecable. and then they tie in the titles of the eps with plays on songs this site http://rfblues.aaanime.net/ is wonderful because not only does it list all the songs and samples of the songs, what songs play when (as well as links to buy the cds) but it lists music influences (for titles and plays on titles not the actual influance of why they were used) and complete scripts for all of the episodes and the movie. i highly reccomend this site for any bebop/seatbelts/yoko kano fan. (i just noticed the site hasnt been updated since 2003, but it still has alot of good info)
Aiyachi
Hmm.... One of my favorite OSTs would have to be the one from Madlax. The songs from it are so amazing! Another favorite of mine is the Azmunga Daioh OST vol. 1, it's so funny sounding (best word I could use to describe it =p ) But my all time favorite is definantly the Sen to Chihiro no Kamikushi (aka Spirited Away) OST. In every song you can just feel the emotion from the scene it was used in
Cat
My favorit anime sound tacks are mostly from Cowboy Bebop. Some of the songs are like that of what I played in middle school. (I was part of the middle school band) The song in the beginning, I think its called Tank but I'm not sure, I like the best out of all of the songs. Alchemist1080
I absolutely like to listen to the Ghost In the Shell Stand alone Complex Vol.2 sound track. i don't know why. I don't usually listen to this type of music but i just think it's real good.
moogle claire
Well I would have to say, Cowboy Bebop (Tank) and all of Naruto! I really can't get enough of the opening theme of Naruto (Flow - Go!) It's just so catchy!
thezerosystem
I'm gonna have to say the Wolf's Rain soudtrack. It ranges from Jazz to Tribal to Rock to what I think sounds Operatic so smoothly. There isn't a song on there I dont like, but "Gravity" reminds me so much of my life it always makes me cry when I hear it. My second favorite soundtrack would have to be FF9 though. Yes, I count FF9 as an anime. I like the theme song, almost as much as I like Gravity (yesh yesh, I know I'm a sap le'mee alone!), but i think my favorite on the album of Uematsu's Best is track 17, Except that I can never remember what it's called. The one with the dragon's wings making up the back beat. Though the song with the wailing/screaming in the background was pretty freakin' awsome too. Guest Jazzy Girl
Well I would have to say Trigun got to have my favourite soundtrack, by far the best song is Rakuen (Paradise) it seems to go so well with what was happing in the scene at that time besides it such a beautiful song to listen to by its self as well! :animesmil But then again I?m still very new to anime in general so who know what I?ll find next. :catgirl:
Nekova
If you asked me a week ago I would have said X, just because of the instrumental pieces used in the last couple episodes. However, since I watched the whole series of A Vision of Escaflowne yesterday (anime marathon with a friend), I now have to change my answer. The classical music that plays in the various battles throughout the series in incredible! I'd never heard it put to use in an anime before. I don't know if they were actual classical pieces or if they were all created just for the series (they vaguely reminded me of O Fortuna from Carmen in a few places), but they worked so well with the visuals it gave me goose bumps. I also loved the more pop-inspired opening theme and the song that plays when Hitome finds a cd in the marketplace.
lady_liege
hmm so far it's the soundtrack to hibane renmei, the violen pece entitles "Blight" brings me to taers almost every time, plus it's just altogetgehr very soothing, which is strange because that ost is very mellow, and i usually hate mwlloe music, but for some reason i just love it. Redemption
My favourite soundtracks would be: 1. NOIR - The music really suits the anime. The French opera accentuates the elegance of the two girls when they are in 'assassin-mode'. Every time I hear it, it gives me goosebumps because I know something really cool is about to happen. 2. Hellsing - The music to this isn't what you think a stereotypical vampire anime would be. Instead of dark and sullen, it's upbeat and jazzy. I really like the opening and the ending song because they are completely different to what a normal vampire anime would be. 3. Naruto - As well as traditional Japanese instruments, it also uses the modern instruments well. My favourite little score from Naruto is called 'Raising Fighting Spirit' and 'Sorrow and Sadness'. Both are really beautiful and are just easy to listen to.
Slade
It would have to be Cowboy bebop....its nice and classy I love blue! hey_love
I would have to say that I love the soundtracks that goes along with Miyazaki's movies always make me much calmer. I love all of the songs that Joe Hisaishi makes. Amazing. Howl's Moving Castle is one of my favorite soundtracks. Spirited Away is nice, too. I also like listening to the Wolf's Rain soundtrack. One of my favorite songs is Friends on it. The soundtracks to Kare Kano is wonderful as well. Many of the songs on Act 2.0 and 3.0 are much more instrumental and lovely to listen to while going to sleep. Those are my favorites. :D

Riku
Heh... the one Anime Soundtrack that I listen to all the time and is my definite favorite is the Fullmetal Alchemist Season II Soundtrack. I got it for free when I bought the Volume 6 special collector's tin.... and ON SALE TOO. Nya nya.. :P Anyways, the reason why this apparent soundtrack is my favorite is because all the background sounds and music are quite beautiful, especially when it's by the Russian Orcestra... holeh crapeh, do they play the music. Anyways, there's a whole bunch of music from the second season and everything and they also have Ready, Steady, Go! and Through the Door. For some reason, I can never get enough of those two songs... they make me feel as if I know what Ed and Al are going through. That's the kind of music that gets me and the kind of music I love. Yesh, I am very emotional about Fullmetal.... >.> <.< >.<; <
ANBU kunoichi
Hellsing - Why? Basically, the same reason as Reiku. It's not the usual stuff you hear with vampires. Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo - I put these two together because I like them for the same reasons. I don't usually like hip-hop or jazz. But the way these were done was just perfect. They managed to make them fit in even this most unlikely of situations on the shows. My favorite Bebop songs are Rain, Goodnight Julia, and The Real Folk Blues; and my favorite Samurai Champloo songs are Shiki no Uta and the song they play on Ep. 11 when Jin is running away with Shino (If anybody knows the name to this song, please tell me. It will make many Jin fangirls happy :animesmil) Fullmetal Alchemist - The music is just so well done. (Forgive my lack of detail.) My two faves are Bratja and Butou. I can't listen to them enough. Final Fantasy - I know this is a video game, not anime, but I love it enough to mention it anyway. Nobuo Oematsu has probably got to be the best video game musician I''ve ever heard. My favorite is a tie between Zanarkand and the FFVII AC version of One-Winged Angel. They are amazing! I like Aerith's Theme, too. FLCL - What can I say? I like rock, and J-Rock is no acception. :animesmil Of course, had I known that they were an 80's J-Rock band without watching FLCL, I probably would never had listened to them. :animeswea Well, those are mine, in no particular order.
