TheShinje
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you, SuperPlant, an almost daily comic that took it's inspiration from DW's Slackers in Slacks, but didn't take any of it's class, art style or decency! Well, it originally used the Akbar font exactly like Slackers, but I changed that along with the wacky borders because Comic Sans and straight borders are easier to work with... Originally set without main character until I made one out of SuperPlant, the earlier comics are totally random. Here are the first five.... Okay?? :animeblus The plant was such a funny character, i had to bring him back on a regular basis! So, thoughts? Comments? Any Slackers in Slacks fanboys coming to rip my throat out? Just remember not to burn down New Zealand's embassy. ;)
Retribution
Tell you the truth, I'd say that Slackers in Slacks and this have different types of humor. Yes, you're gonna get screwed by DW's satire, but for the moment, you've done well. The crude line drawings are endearing in and of themselves, and the only thing I'd work on is the punchlines. For instance, the one about the robber totally went over my head. And try to do multi-celled comics as well -- it might be right up your alley.
John
One thing I love is ugly comics, and this one is truly hideous. =D Retribution might've been right about you trying strips. The humor is definitely different here than in S in S. If nothing else, you can always go back to single panel. Keep 'em coming, anyway.
TheShinje
It's quite a relief to know that this comic's humor is different to that in Slackers in Slacks, last thing I want this comic to be is a carbon copy. Here's my first stab at political humor, you know the incident, now see the comic! My next comic will try the multi-celled approach, it might make the more complex jokes and punchlines easier to flesh out. Thanks for the comments and crit, much appreciated, keep them coming. ;)
