Colored contacts? Piercings?

Yeah, that's right. I'm too lazy to make two separate threads.

I'm wondering what people think of colored contacts. Mostly, do you like them? Do you/would you ever wear them? If so, what's your favorite color of them? What do you think of the "freaky" ones?

Me, well, I love them! I had some blue-ish green ones, but one of them ripped. My mom got me white ones today. She surprised me. I'd have to say that my favorite is the purple-ish kind. Not the "freaky" purple-sh ones, but the violet-colored regular ones. They're pretty. That's what I'm getting next, in about 6 months or on my birthday, which is in April.

The second topic in this thread is piercings. Specifically, septums. For those of you who don't know, the septum piercing is also known as the "bull ring." Is it just me (and my city), or is it becoming a bit popular? No, not popular as in the cute little nose ring, but popular as in the "goth" and "rocker" and "punk" kids all seeming to have it now. What do you think of this piercing? Where you live, is it becoming a new sort of craze? Would you ever do it?

As for myself, I wanted to get a septum piercing about 2 years ago, but I chickened out and got my bridge pierced. Alot of people in my school are getting it pierced. I can name at least 5 people that I know that have it. I've seen many, many other kids (both at my school and all around El Paso) that have it. Personally, it only looks right on certain people. Tim and Dana can really pull it off, but Felicia, Jenny, and Lino really look horrible with it. I still would like to get it pierced, but now that I'm seeing that it's 1) what everyone is doing, and 2) not really that good-looking, especially on females, I don't think I could pull it off. There's my two cents.

I don't like any type of piercing except for the ears on boys or girls. It looks very ... hm ... unnatural and unattractive to me. As for colored contacts, those can be very cool if they're not the kind that cover your whole eyeball (the ones that make your eyes all black or all white, for example). I suppose I like more natural-looking eyes, but as long as the color isn't really crazy, I'm alright with it.

And by the way -- I saw Sharingan eye contacts, but they didn't rotate. Still, very awesome.[/size]

I really don't like the idea of septum piercing. Where I live there is no one with it. Plus, I think it would really hurt, another reason why I would not want it. I myself have 3 ear piercing in each ear and no one else has that at my school or where I live.

As for contacts, I think that they are really cool. I don't wear any because I don't like the idea of sticking my finger in my eye. (I wear glasses by the way) If I every got over my fear I would want the Cat Eyes kind. The reason is that I'm a big cat lover. (I have 2 cats and I'm trying to get my mom to let me have another) If I could not get the Cat Eyes then I would like purple or my natrual eye color. (Brown)

I like them, i have grey contacts, and i plan on getting a grand total of 18 peircings.

Contacts are pretty nice, I wear glasses, and I got contacts once before, the only thing that bugged me about them was that they dried out my eyes, I'd probably consider laser eye surgery before I got contacts again.

Freaky contacts, on the other hand, I find are pointless. They just look.... stupid. Although neat purple ones or something, but nothing really extreme, like cat eyes, or white contacts... white contacts freak me out, it makes the wearer look like they have no soul. *shudder*

As for peircings, I used to have my tongue, belly button and lip peirced. But now I only have my lip peircing left. I remember when I got my tongue peirced not many people had it, but then after I got it peirced, it just became this huge trend. Not saying I started it, but I guess I just got it done before it was the "cool" thing to do. I really like my lip ring though, I think it looks fabulous on me. Unfortunately it's making my gum line recede so I might have to take it out. Boo. I don't know many people with septum peircings, maybe just one or two. And my one friend who has it is the only person it doesn't look totally rediculous on.. that I've seen anyways.

Of course, when it comes to peircings, some people get them for the wrong reasons and they totally waste their money. Like when I got my bellybutton peirced. It wasn't until like 8 months later that I realized my belly button was waaay cuter without it. And then there's all those "punks"... I'm sorry, but if you get a peircing because other scene kids have them wouldn't that make it "trendy" instead of "punk"? It's beyond me...

I have been dreaming about having a pair of colored contacts when I get enough money (i.e. when I get a job). I've had glasses since the fifth grade, so I'm pretty accustomed to them, but if I were to get myself contacts, they would definately have to be colored ones.

One green and one purple would be great. ;D

Of course, by the time I can afford them I would be too old to atually have the guts to wear them... XP

I do like colored contacts that have natural eye colors, though. I would love to get some honey or hazel contacts, or gray ones. [/color]

Anyway, I don't mind piercings (although I have none, not even my ears) as long as they aren't all over your body. I've seen some people with like, a million piercings, and they look really bad with them. Some people can pull it off, others can't.

Coloured contacts. Hmm... I don't mind them, as long as they're not too way-out. I wouldn't mind getting some burnt orange ones one day. I'd really like to get some ones like Siamese cats' eyes. They're really pretty, the icy blue type (not the cat slits). I wouldn't mind some acid green ones, or jade coloured ones. But that'd be about the extent of my likings.

Oh, and the Sharigan ones of course. ^_^[/color][/size]

I don't mind piercings beyond the ears, but I think it's almost always really distracting from the rest of the person. In my opinion, they're pretty unattractive, and usually at least slightly vain.

As for colored contacts... no, heh. With piercings, you're just adding something to your face. With the contacts, you're covering up a feature that's already there, and which is arguably the most unique and interesting part of a person's face. And it's like you're replacing it with a sort of hyperbolic impersonation. No thanks for me. :P

i seriously want contacts and at least a piercing!!
i hate the color of my eyes (brown) and i hate having to squint at the overhead whenever i'm at school. I've considered getting either gray/purple-ish or green, dark green. I dunno, i think it suits me. About the piercing, i've always wanted one too. either on my nose or tongue...but thing is...i dead scared about needles. Well that sux, XD

I am not offended by multiple body piercings but I draw the line at perforating my own skin. Never really saw the need for tongue rings and bellybutton rings and nipple rings 'cause rarely do I stick my tongue out, wear midriff-baring shirts or run around stark naked. Plus I get rashes wearing silver so boo.

Colored contacts I am open to. I've always wanted to wear those translucent gray ones, the kind they use for zombies in the movies. Freaky but very cool.[/SIZE][/COLOR]

I asked my mum if I could by some, but she wouldn't let me :(

I haven't got my ears pierced yet, but to make up for the 16 unpierced years, I'm getting three piercings in each done by the end of the summer, hopefully. I was considering getting my eyebrow pierced, but after seeing quite a few girls with it done, it doesn't appeal to me any more. Still want to get a tongue stud, one day.

As for contacts, I may end up needing them one day, and if I do, I'm going to go for ones that enhance the green of my eyes. I knew a woman once who had green eyes, but her contacts made them seem bright and almost cat like. It was awesome.

I already wear contacrs, but they're just the run of the mill clear ones. I would like to try colored, but I haven't decided on which color. I will stay away from the brown ones though. A friend of mine has them, and they look just like doll's eyes (which is just odd and a tad frightening). Hmm those sharingan contacs sound very nice, check about those.

As for piercings, I just like having my ears pierced. Currently I only have on in each ear, but I'd like to have three, so I'll be getting them pierced two more times each. I'm not really a big fan of piercings anywhere else, but that's just me. Tongue piercings just look flat out painful! I couldn't imagine having to eat with that in my mouth. I think a septum piercing would just be plain annoying, and distracting. The first thing about your face they see is a large ring jutting from your nose:sweat: .

I do like contacts, and back when I was in high school I use to have some. Although I didn't / never needed them (or glasses). I just wore them for show. I had those cat-eyed type contacts. I was curious about how I'd look in them. I stopped wearing them because of a little paranoia (sp?) of them getting stuck in my eyes one day.... go figure.

As far as piercings goes. I've always thought about getting my ears pierced, but I passed on it. I've always thought they were for woman anyway.... *shrugs* (I'm one of those dull types that won't try nothing new.. such as piercings and tatoo's..)
