Whisper of the Heart is a great anime from Studio Ghibli. The director is Yoshifumi Kondou and is produced + Screenwrite by Hayao Miyazaki. I came across this anime when watching Hayao Miyazaki films last month (January) on Tunern Classic Movies. Ths story is about this young girl that loves to read books and find that every book that she cheaks out a guy has cheak out the same books before her. The story goes one and she discoverys more about herself and what she is going to do in life. The movie is considered a Drama and Romance story.
This anime comes out Marh 7, 2006 (next month) and is available for Pre-Ordering.

What I am wondering is if you saw the movie when it was on Tunern Classoc Movies and if so did you like it?

For those that haven't I hope that you see it and enjoy it when it comes out. (Then tell what you thought of movie.)

Hey,

I agree with you and have to say that this movie is fantastic and its great to see another Ghibli fan on Otaku.

I lovedthis film for its great depiction of love. These great styles of film the likes of which are made by Kondou are all fabulous. I am a great fan of Studio Ghibli and I love all of the movies.

If you havent seen it check out the new Miyazaki movie Howls moving castle.

I watched this movie in January on TCM as well.

I loved how they used the song Country Roads and kind of pulled a twist of it and incorporated it along with the story. Amazing.

This movie kind of made me start my own goals of writing and whatnot as well. And I love how the movie was saying "start some goals and begin reaching high for them", that type of thing.

Besides Howl's Moving Castle, this is my second favorite Ghibli movie. And go figure, the DVDs come out on the same day!

Although, I think the first, about half hour or so of the movie was kind of a drag, but the next about hour? was amazing. :D

I got that impression too Hey_love. It was a little boring but I knew that it had to get better, I mean some of the movies start that way that come from Studio Ghibile. I know with Spirited Away I thought the same thing,it was going to be boring but it wasn't. The movie does get better and it draws you into it. Its kind of shocking for me because don't really enjoy Romance type animes and mangas but lately I have been.

Mhmm. I thought Spirited Away was going to be horrible. Here and there it was okay. The whole No Face idea was kind of creepy. :animestun I thought it got a lot better when
Haku became unconcious after trying to save Sen/Chihiro from the stupid baby and the heads.
That's when the story got going, I think! :animesmil

But anyways, I'm counting the days until March 7th. I'll be buying both Howl's Moving Castle and Whisper of the Heart! :D :D :D

I love WotH! I picked it up last year on eBay, and have watched it at least a dozen times. I'm not a huge romance fan, but I love the relationship between these two. For anyone who saw the dub: is it any good? I only have the subbed version, and I might pick up the dub to show my younger neices.

I have seen the dubed version it it was very good. I do think that you should get it for your neices. They would love it for its romance/ love story part. In fact I think that the dubed is great for all ages. I never seen the sub version but I think that the two movies have the same common plot and stuff. I hope that I have helped a bit.

The dubbed version has voice actors such as David Gallagher, is that how you spell it?, known for playing Simon on Seventh Heavan and Riku in Kingdom Hearts. Brittany Snow plays the main character... I'm pretty sure at least.

They portrait the characters rather wll, I think. :D

I love the part where she starts screaming stupid jerk over and over again. :animesmil
I don't think it was boring at all. Slow-paced, but deliberately so.

It's a very sweet love story, and it's definitely got a special place in my heart.
i defenatly agree.. it was slow starting, but a very sweet story, that in away is more realistic then some of the other ghibli films.. but it is a lovely film!!!

Absolutely right. WotH is a fantasitic movie. I first saw it during the Month of Miyazaki on TCM. Along with many other movies by Studio Ghibli. I saw it in original japanese with english subs, so I missed a few things they said. Other than that, the movie was magnificent. I plan on watching it over and over again.
