Anime Anime Dubbed in other languages

[COLOR=#004a6f]Would you consider watching animes that are dubbed in languages other than english? Some animes are hard to come by in their original japanese version, and have been dubbed in other countries such as germany, france, the netherlands, and so on. Would you watch these dubbed versions if they had english subtitles? Or is that just too weird for you?[/COLOR]

Some languages are just an ear sore to me. I know that sounds really rude, but growing up with two languages, I kind of got picky with what I hear.

If it's a language I know, or a language that isn't too rough on the ears, then I suppose I could listen to it.

If they have it in Vietnamese, which I'm not so sure, then I'll listen to it because I grew up with that language.

If they have it in French, then sure! Why not, I'm pretty fluent in it right now.

I'm not so sure I could keep up with Spanish though, but reading it would be fun. :D [/size]

yeah i would, if it's in filipino....and there are a large amount of anime that's in filipino, i first watched yu yu hakusho in filipino like 8 yrs ago

Yeah, I wouldn't mind watching subbed anime dubbed in languages I don't understand. My only requirement would be that the voice characterizations must sound decent. Even if I haven't a clue as to what they're talking about, the right intonation and inflection in their speech will help amplify whatever's written in the subs.

Plus, I'm easily turned off by mismatched and incompetent seiyuus so even if the subbing and the series as a whole is commendable, I might just end up not watching it. *thumbs down*[/SIZE][/COLOR]

My first anime watched was dubbed in spanish. It was actually pretty accurate since they kept all the concepts of the show and even translated the lyrics in spanish to be used with the same music of the anime shows. When they dubbed it in english they change themes, and stuff.

From experience, I wouldn't because the orginal is always better in most cases. But if I was DESPERATE for anime and that was my only choice then I guess I would. But otherwise i definitely would not. It's just not the same even if its not all that bad.

The reason why I wouldn't mind Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Italian is because the sound similar. I'm fluent in Spanish, so due to there similarities I can make out some of there words. I speak French and Italian pretty well says my French/Italian friend yet I have no idea how to write it! So I can tell almost what there saying if it dubbed in does laungages.

For Chinese, well I have a chinese friend. She making me learn some of the dialects (Mandarin, Cantonese, and err...I forget the other). So it be a cool experience seen anime in the dialects she making me learn to see how far I have come! It be a fun experience learning a new laungage through anime. It is better then hearing my friend yell at me because I pronounced something wrong![/FONT][/SIZE][/COLOR]

I would love to hear anime in different languages! ^_^ I actually have an episode of Sonic X in french. It's pretty good. The voices are pretty accurate for the characters.

to say the truth, I wouldn't watch it dubbed in english either.......... :smirk: what's not japanease just sounds......false. and not in place. :lecture: it's like watching Disney's movies in other languages. I only watch (or listen, or read..) things in their original language, and I believe that the laguage itself is a part of it, if it's not there -- you missed a half.
