myst
i've reading a certain series of manga for a while now, (eg. rurouni kenshin) and i thought it's about time i change to someting else. But i always seem to choose the worst ones, so i was wandering if anyone could make some suggestions? i don't really have a specific "taste" as you would call it, anything YOU like is good............. :animeswea

lumpy3922
It's going to be hard to beat Rurouni Kenshin. But I think I know some that may come close. I know that Bleach is really good, I like it alot. Then theres Saiyuki, that's a good one, but I have to say more for the girls. Blade of the Immortal is a super good manga, but hard to find. And the last one I can think of to tell you about is, Fruits Basket. It's so good, I love it to death. It's funny and deals with things kids tend to go through. Sangome
You should give Fullmetal Alchemist a try. It has a great plot, wonderful characters, good artwork, action, and some comedy to boot.^_^ You could also try Tsubasa, or it's crossover manga, xxxHolic. Both have beautiful artwork (which is the norm, coming from CLAMP), great stories, and loveable characters. All three of these are great manga that I wholeheartedly recommend! ^_^
hey_love
Well, it kind of depends what type of series you're in the mood for. Some of my favorites are: DNAngel; A family curse running through the Niwa line befalls a fourteen year old boy. On his fourteenth birthday, Daisuke is rejected by his love, and soon realizes love triggers the transformation of his other half, the phantom thief Dark Mousy! Dark Mousy steals artwork containing magical power, mostly artwork made by the rival Hikari family. Dark is a devious person with a dark (go figure) personality, and Daisuke is kind of clumsy and optimistic. They go through a series of problems, one dealing with the Harada twins, and to be released from the curse, only love can set them free. Fruits Basket; Tohru Honda, a girl who recently just lost her mother and lives in a tent, meets the Sohma family and comes to live at one of the households. The soon finds out the family is cursed by the zodiac. If a person under the curse hugs a member of the opposite sex, they turn into whatever animal of the zodiac they are cursed by. Problems and secrets unravel in front of Tohru's very eyes, and however is she supposed to deal with the issues before her? Many great morals are in this story. Full Moon wo Sagashite; A twelve year old girl with a tumor in her throat only has but a year left to live! She would very much like to become a singer to reach out to the one she loves that now lives in another part of the world. With a weak voice, shinigamis come and turn her into a sixteen year old. She lives the life of a singer and hopes to some day meet the one she loves so dear. This is a bittersweet story, indeed. Those three are my favorite series. I enjoy the manga much better for DNAngel, and for Fruits Basket I enjoy the anime more. For Full Moon, I enjoy both the anime and the manga. Other series that I like are: Fushigi Yuugi, Prince of Tennis, His and Her Circumstances, Hot Gimmick and Doubt!!. Enjoy! :animesmil

Chikara Kokoro
My favorite two manga at the moment are Fruits Basket and Death Note Death Note is a more serious manga that deals with issues of death and the morality of killing. It's a "mystery" type story (even though there's really not much mystery involved in the first few volumes). It will make you think... a lot, so if you want something you don't have to think about while reading, then this isn't the manga for you. Fruits Basket is a very popular shojo manga. Tokyopop has claimed that it's "the #1 selling shojo manga in America" on the cover since volume 5. Light hearted and humorous, it tends to be geared more towards those who adore the emotions in characters than those who look for constant fight scenes. There is the occasional fist fight, but it doesn't consume the story. The Neon Genesis Evangelion manga is one of my favorite shonen manga. It has a great mix of characters, their emotions, a good plot, and giant robots fighting monsters of unkown origin (unkown to me at least). I've never watched the anime, so I can't compare the two, but the manga was very well done. I have to warn you though, once you get towards the middle of the series you should be prepared to cry (I know I did).

Pepoke
Well...if you like violence, i suggest Sword of Shibito, which is fairly new. Another interesting manga is Juvinile[bad spelling] Orion, which kinda like drama, with a strange twist to it. Very short series, though. Only 6 books, I think. The old school inuyasha is good too. Its got comedy, and an apropriate amount of action. Then again, Ive only read one of the books... ..well hope this helps. :catgirl:
