kalon
I always listen to all songs by the pillows. I have the 3 FLCL soundtracks and the Penalty Life C.D. " Moon Marguerite" and "LAST DINOSAUR" are my favorites. The pillows have more than one genre of song, so there is a good mix of styles on the C.D's. I also love all of Yoko Kanno's music. She has a varied range of styles as well. Each of her songs is distinctive and easy to listen to. Her music is one of the main reasons Cowboy Bebop is so cool. Claire
Randomly, I'm currently obsessed with "Viva La Revolution" by the Adicts. I bet it was because I spent several hours with my punkish friends and now I'm cuh-razier.
Goodbye, Face
Viva La Revolution is good. ^^ I haven't listened to The Adicts much in the past two years, I guess I should. I'm crazy for The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza's "Cliff Burton Surprise." If you need to know about the band, they're a Southern Metalcore band similar to the old Norma Jean, but heavier. The song has nothing to do with the (shooting?) of the old Metallica member. However, I think the band tries to throw in as many references to older Southern Rock bands, as after the first few seconds of the song, they sneak in a part of GnR's "Sweet Child of Mine" before the music really picks up. After that it's just brutal, lol. If you're really interested, the song is on their Purevolume page.

Fyxe
It happens to me all of the time. Currently, there are a few... let's see... The Reclusive by Cursive. I used to only like the beginning of this song, reminded me of something you would hear in a stripper bar, haha. But later on I listened to all of it and fell in love with it. It ran through me and I could just feel it. It's great. Another one is Blue composed by Yoko Kanno, I don't know who it is performed by, however. I love how this song builds up, and gives a great release in the end, like a build up of great emotion just floods out in a wave of relief or something. At first I didn't really like how some of the vocals were presented, but now I appreciate it. Also, Teenage Dirtbag and Truffles by Wheatus. Because Wheatus is my b*tch. 'Nuff said. Dare by the Gorillaz is also a lovable tune, but I don't hear it much on the radio, so it's quite unavailable to me. Some songs I was realy obsessed with around this time last year were Strawberry Gashes by Jack Off Jill and Evolution by Ayumi Hamasaki. Hell, I don't know a damn word Ayumi was singing, but I still ate it up like no other. It's not like I got sick of those two songs, I just don't play them as often as I used to. Music is good for you.
Flame_Alchemist
I have a number of sungs that I can?t stop listening to at the moment so here we go, they are all pretty different. Longing by Gackt ? Ok this one is a song from the Dirge of Cerberus soundtrack. For those of you who don?t know Dirge of Cerberus is a Final Fantasy game. The song is really catchy, I?m not sure of the lyrics though because it?s Japanese but the feel of the song fits the character of the game well I think. Disproportioned Head by The Vandals ? Well The Vandals have been mentioned already in this thread but here?s another one. The Vandals are known for making really silly songs and this song is pretty self explanatory. It?s about a guy with a huge head, with lyrics like ?If my body was twice the size it was then I might look alright but I don't because, I've got a disproportioned head.? you have to love them. I was listening to this in a car with my friends the other day so that?s why I?m listening to this one a lot. Some Day the Dream Will End by Nobuo Uematsu ? A Final Fantasy song this one from FFX. It?s a pretty sad song and fits the part of the game very well. Then again I can?t think of any Final Fantasy song that isn?t good. Parabol/Parabola by Tool ? Tool are a weird band, some people find them boring but they have a lot of fans. In fact I?m going to see them live this year! Parabol and Parabola are two different songs but they run straight into each other. Parabol is very slow and quiet whereas Parabola is loud and just awesome. OMNOMNOMALY
Soo many! I love music that I can listen to over and over... Gold Lion by Yeah Yeah Yeahs - This song is just so catchy! Every time it's on the radio, I turn the dial alll the way to the right XP Aruarian Dance by Nujabes - I first heard in on Samurai Champloo, and I've been listening to it on my ipod every day since. I can't explain it, either. It's just a very mellow, pretty song. Arial vs. Lotus by Limblifter - catchy, happy. I finally managed to download it today =D Passion by Utada Hikaru - The Japanese version is the best. I love Utada's voice and how the pace in the song changes but still fits so well into the scheme of it. Duvet by BoA - I've been obsessed with this song for 3 years. I think it's because it's really pretty, and BoA's voice range is like mine, so it's easily singable. Save Your Scissors by City and Colour - I am in love with Dallas Green. What else can I say? Coalmine by Armchair Cynics - I love the instrumentals and lyrics of this song. Build God, Then We'll Talk by Panic! At The Disco - my favourite part is near the end where they sort of redo the song "Favourite Things" from A Sound Of Music Paralyzed by Rock Kills Kid - I first heard of them through the OC, so I downloaded all I could find and I found this song! I absolutely adore the guitar. That's my list for now =D

Japan
There are quite a few that I am obsessed with at the moment. Korn - "Alone I Break" Korn - "Y'all Want a Single" NIN - "Hurt" NIN - "Closer" Foo Fighters - "Best of You" Maaya Sakamoto - "Kiseki No Umi" Strongbad - "Techno" Halo 2 Theme Super Mario Bros. Theme Lifehouse - "Somewhere In Between" REM - "Losing My Religion" All I seem to do lately is listen to music and these are my most played tracks. The Strongbad one has to be one of the coolest though, if I listen to it for an extended period of time, I would get a headache. Closer and Y'all Want a Single are the ones I listen to when I'm in a good mood and the rest I listen to when I am not feeling 100%.
the_sixth_child
Currently it's 'Brothers' from FullMetal Alchemist and this other one I'm not really sure what it's called but they'd play it every so often in the second season...anyway, I really like 'Brothers' in Russian it's really pretty! :animesmil But when Vic Mignogna sings it *swoon* it's just as pretty! :animesmil :catgirl:  :love2:
Guest tewstroke
I never get tired of hearing "heroin" by The Velvet Undergroud it's such a good song and the drums in it resemble the beat of someones heart who is very tense and building up to something big! It really gets me going, where? I don't know.
Guest MOA Ironwood
Most of the music I listen to tends to range within different genres. However, ones that I easily obsess over are usually songs that I could fight to in games. So here goes... Imagine - A Perfect Circle. Battle Rap - Abdominal. Zombie - Cranberries. Signal To Noise - Peter Gabriel. Migrane Headache - Esham. Everlong - Foo Fighters. Open Your Eyes - Guano Apes. Poem - Taproot. Firestarter - Prodigy. The Golden Eel - Ween. Also there is several bands/musicians that I also obsess over for the same reason. Mudvayne - they tend to switch styles without getting rid of the feeling in the songs. That quality is what makes me keep listening. While the lyrics are great to try and understand from different perspectives. Deltron - Deltron has too many aliases, but his rapping is incredible. Rush - :D

Claire
I think I'm obsessed with several songs right now, but the most obsessive award probably belongs to "Diamond Mind" by Rasputina (all the other ones are also by this AMAZING band). Diamond Mind I want a diamond, I really do I think that you should give me one Then you can prove your love is true And that the gift giving has just begun I want that diamond, I want that thing A tennis bracelet, a ring It better shine, it better cut I know it is expensive but... What other way can you make four months of your measely salary last a lifetime And what other thing have I ever asked you for Besides... The ability to read my mind And I didn't get that either, Yet I want that diamond, I want it so All of my irritating friends will know That I have worth, not only that But that you love me even though I'm fat I want that thing, I want it now I'll say it once, I don't care how you get it You can rob a store, There just is nothing I want more Than diamond jewelry for me And I'll talk louder so you see how very much it means to me! Even some little stud earrings Give me the
goddamned
diamond It's just so darn true! Or at least, it hits what the jewelry industry must think of woman right on the head. And I adore Melora Creager's brilliance.

Claire
Welcome to OtakuBoards, mikedirnt and Lonnie_14. I'm going to have to ask you to just elaborate a little more in your posts. Tell us why you're obsessed with those songs; why you like it, what it means to you, something of the sort. Maybe provide your favorite lyric? Just a suggestion...=D One more thing: mikedirnt, please watch your post quality. Right now, it's readable, but we at the OB stress good grammar (and puncuation). You have a little room for improvement, from what I can see. Other than that, I hope you enjoy your stay at the Otakuboards. :D
Hanabishi Recca
I like alot of fast paced midi's like this: http://downloads.animezen.net/midis/Initial%20D%20-%20Maybe%20Tonight.mid I like it because it is fast paced and is has a great tune. I also like inuyasha songs. But I really hate some of the songs on 929 NIN because they were played so much at night me and my brother used to talk. And we hear the same songs every night. Which was cool at first, but now we no longer talk. But it was very annoying at first. Grr...
KatanaViolet
I got some new songs on repeat: Anti-Flag- 1 Trillion Dollar$ This is a song off their new album "For Blood And Empire". It's about how over 1 Trillion US dollars have been used for weapons and war. I love it, and their whole album. Bullet For My Valentine- Cries In Vain My sister really likes these guys, and I used one of their songs to make a music video, and I really liked it, so I downloaded more songs and I love this. It's got a combination of singing, screaming and awesome guitar and drums. Bullet For My Valentine- Hand Of Blood This is the song I used for my video, I love how fast paced it is and how it's just so raw. The guitar blows my mind and the singer is just awesome. This song makes me want to rock so hard. Panic! At The Disco- I Write Sins Not Tragedies This song isn't the greatest lyrically, in fact, its rather redundant. But it's just so darn catchy!! Not to mention the video reminds me of something from Tim Burton. Protest The Hero- No Stars Over Bethlehem Protest the Hero is honestly one of the best artists that Canada has put out yet. Again with the fast paced guitar that blows my mind, catchy lyrics and the singer can sing them awesomely. "Amen to the fools and the cossacks and the pulpits Amen to the people who think there's still a way to help us" AHH I love it. Mass Missle- Ima Made Nande Mo One of the openings from Naruto. I just love how upbeat and catchy it is. Just listening to it makes me happy and bouncy. Definately one of the songs that I need to learn the lyrics to. PaganAngel
Fake Star by Tomokazu Seki. Quite possibly the single catchiest song in the history of catchy songs. Numero uno on my list of songs I wish was on DDR. But if we're talking about English songs, I'll go with The Adventure by Angels & Airwaves, mainly because my brother won't stop worshipping them and besides, Tom Delonge's pretty hot.... Stark
Anyone ever hear of Dragostea din tei? To most people, this song is simply called 'the numa numa song', and has spawned many video spoofs and tons of hilarious AMVs. Check out Starwind's blog--he has an AMV with Kakashi doing the Numa Numa dance on there. This song is just so addictive, and it gets stuck in my head so easily even though I can't even understand the lyrics. I just randomly burst out with the 'maia hi, maia hu, maia ho, maia ha ha' at times because I feel like it. Also, I'll literally greet people with 'allo' and they will continue with me singing. Its maddness, I know. Makes me feel like I'm on acid or something just singing it. And I don't do acid, or any drug, so that says something. EDIT: I forgot to mention "Through the Night", the Outlaw Star opening theme. It is the only anime song that I have absolutely all of the lyrics memorized to. I also randomly burst out singing this. Songs that I love but haven't memorized would be anything by TM Revolution and HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR's "Pride", the second opening for Gundam SEED Destiny.
Funny Girl
My favorite song is from Hawk Nelson. It's called "These are the Things We Go Through". These are the things we go through Let's take control and be ourselves Let's not waste time trying to figure it out How we're gonna make it out Go Let's rock everyone around you Let's rock until the clock strikes 2 Tell me what I want to know Billy made a promise but didn't end though Carey had a dream but she threw it out the window Kevin met a nice girl that broke his heart And his friends never told him but they knew it from the start and These are the things we go through That's just part of the song that I like. :D
