Albert Flasher
AHHHHHHH!!!!! What a time for my glasses to self-destruct. I had plans to go see the movie on it's debut night and my glasses effin' broke! And now I have to press my face to the computer screen to see anything! It'll be at least a week until I get them... CURSE YOU NEPTUNE!!!!!!! But the movie itself looks awesome. Whenever the commercial comes on, I break into laughter. BTW, cool trivia. The line "I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF THESE ************* SNAKES ON THIS ************* PLANE!" wasn't even in the movie until a parody flash video had Sam Jackson saying it. It was so damn funny they re-shot a huge part of the movie to include it (Amongst other things).
Shinmaru
Unless I happen to feel like making a movie called Mo' Motha-****in' Snakes on Mo' Motha-****in' Planes.
God, we can only dream. Anyway, if things go well tomorrow, then I shall also be seeing Snakes on a Plane. Hopefully there will be a decent crowd there; if so, I can honestly say that I expect this to be one of the best theater experiences of my life. The buzz around SoaP is something that you just don't get with movies anymore (or very rarely, at least). The whole thing is like going to the local theater with your friends to see a B-movie that everyone in town is talking about. It's incredible lol. P.S. I'm still praying for an Air Force One reference in SoaP. I could die completely fulfilled after seeing that.

sakurasuka
#%%$#&%$#!!!!!!! My mother has decided it best for me not to go see it with my older friends. Since it is restricted and all. So I'll either have to wait until gives up and lets me go, or it comes out on video. Damnit. I was so excited, too.

I'll be putting spoiler tags around anything that I may consider spoilers just so you all know. Here it is. I get into the theatre, more pumped about a movie then ever before. I think there were only two to three trailers (one of which was for a movie that looks awesome -- The Covenant). So yeah, the movie starts. I love the font they use (currently trying to find it). Instantly people are laughing just because it starts off so freaking
cheerful
. But yeah, the movie was hillarious with a group of people (theatre full, actually) simply because everyone basically knew about all the hype and was anticipating the silly action sequences. When Jackson first entered, people were cheering. It was nuts. I think one of the best parts was when he finally says "
I've had it with these mother ******' snakes, on this mother ******' plane!
" Everyone in the theatre exploded with laughter and clapped and cheered. That was great. The whole movie was downright ridiculous. But in all honesty, it was quite entertaining even as an action movie. It had a few decent surprises and a even a part that had me on the edge of my seat. But besides that, it was just so retarded that it was funny. I highly reccomend seeing this film before it comes out on video, because if you don't see it was a bunch of people it may not be as funny as it was for people like me who didn't wait.

John
Like White indicated, this is definitely a movie to be seen in groups. I saw it by myself (and a very disappointingly small amount of other people were in the theater), and I really wasn't nearly as entertained as I would be if I saw it with some friends. However, the downright horrendousness of the movie still kept me entertained pretty easily. The movie's incredibly referencable due to all the notable events happening in a nice, simple (and incredibly untalented) series, one after the other. Some of the highlights for me include
the male flight attendant exploding a snake in the microwave, Keenan Thompson's character hitting snakes with the flat-panel TV, Sam Jackson's character (can you tell I'm bad with names?) tasing snakes in the face, and everyone on the plane randomly shouting "Snakes!" or "There's snakes!" in any moment of tension.
Shinmaru
I got back from Snakes on a Plane a couple of hours ago and I had a fantastic time. Like John, the number of people who saw the film in the theater I went to was disappointingly small, but I was with some friends, so it wasn't too bad. The whole thing just invited snide comments from everyone and we really let SoaP have it, haha. But we used our vicious sarcasm with love. :) Everything that John listed is a definite highlight, and I'd like to include a few highlights of my own:
The first deaths with the couple having sex in the restroom when the snake clamps down on the girl's boob; the second death where the guy pisses on the snake, whereupon the snake practically swallows his whole cock and he flails around, yelling, "Get this ****ing snake off of my dick!!" (EASILY the best death in the movie; I was cracking up like crazy); the stiff English asshole throwing that annoying dog to the snake and then getting squeezed and eaten himself (if nothing else, the scriptwriters know when to give the audience the cheap victory); all of the snakes flying when Flynn blew open the plane; and the utter ridiculousness of the snake expert character.
There are tons more highlights than that, of course, but I'd like to give other people an opportunity to mention other great parts of SoaP. :p SoaP is near-perfect B-movie entertainment... I only have one complaint about the film:
They took the trouble to introduce that Asian guy on the plane as a kickboxer, and yet not once is there a scene where he is kickboxing a snake! Sure he hits them with various objects on occasion, and he even throws one at one point, but, man, he really needed to be punching and kicking the complete **** out of snakes as they leapt toward him from all directions. SUCH a wasted opportunity.
Other than that, I loved everything about the film. I doubt that I'll have more fun watching another movie this summer, haha. One of the best parts (besides
"Who's your daddy now, *****?!") would have to be when they inflated the life raft in the staircase to stop the snakes from climbing up. A life raft. Haha.
Oh and what was with the
shaking of the cat cage when the snake is killing the kitty? Were they getting busy? Did I miss something? I'm pretty sure that if a snake crawled into a cat cage like that the cage wouldn't shake like a shag-wagon.
Jonesy251
I don't think I'll camp out for this one but I definitely want to check it out. It looks hilarious because of how ridiculous the plot is. And having Samuel L. in it makes it that more appealing. Good stuff!
Arcadia
I just saw this movie today with my brother and I was sufficiently entertained, thank goodness. It started so terribly with the
stupid mob guy who can't act worth a damn but looks great without a shirt
and I really thought the first couple deaths were just ridiculous. It just seemed incredibly juvenile compared to the rest of the movie. Which I guess wouldn't have been so weird if they hadn't tried to up the seriousness of the whole thing later with the
older woman saving the baby and then dying and the little kid getting bit. Although the latter was somewhat lessened by Keenen and the other guy watching her suck the poison out and making those silly comments.
. My favorite part was definitely
the snake specialist, he was hysterical. And Samuel L. Jackson's line in response to the whole pheromones predicament was classic: "Great! Snakes on crack!"
Holy god, it was beautiful. And it has, of course, re-affirmed my earlier belief that if I was ever to be on a snake-infested plane, the only person I would ever turn to in my hour of need would be Samuel L. Jackson. I wish I had gone to the first showing, though, that would have been the best. One of my friends and his brother went and took rubber snakes with them. Apparently the crowd cheered everytime something remotely entertaining happened. Gotta love that.
Papa Smurf
It was spectacular. I went to see it with Charles on opening night. The theatre filled pretty well, and the audience was going nuts. There were cheers and applause almost throughout the entire movie, starting with the main titles. "Snakes" faded in, then "on a Plane" and the theatre erupted in claps. It was pretty cool. The movie itself was hands-down the best summer movie I've seen in a long, long time. Everything was so exceptionally well-done; the only problem I had with it was stupid acting in the beginning. Eddie Kim sucked pretty hard (though not as hard as
the mother tending to the poison in the kid's arm!
hah) Those kill scenes were ridiculous, definitely. That's what made them great.
The Mile High couple, the pisser, the fat woman, the newlyweds, Mary Kate (my favorite death in the movie), the British guy, the captain and co-pilot
...the list goes on and on. Though I must say there were three things that disappointed me regarding the death scenes: One,
the British guy's eyes didn't pop out of his skull when the boa constrictor was wrapping around him.
Two,
The two brothers needed to die horrible deaths. I was waiting for it the entire movie. Their survival was depressing.
Three,
the baby lives?!
WTF is that? Baby is the other-other white meat. Snakes like white meat. Actually, yeah they do, because
no black guys die in SoaP; it's all white people
. That baby should be happy. It ruined my movie experience. ~_^ Charles apparently doesn't have such a sick, sadistic streak. I saw him cringing at times, where I was laughing my *** off, hoping for some more brutality. In fact, I was laughing throughout, because the movie was so mean-spirited a lot of the time. ^_^ I'll probably go see it again. Maybe a third time, too. It's that much fun. Shwa
Originally I thought this movie was going to be so bad, just because there was a lot of hype on their website where you can call people on their cell phones and Samuel L. Jackson would talk to them about the movie....i called some poeple as well. But it was because of those kinds of hype that we just had to watch the movie the second day it came out. I was really impressed by the movie, maily the part where it was funny as hell! The actors did fine, I was expectiong some people to die that didn't but that was ok, and of course Samuel L. Jackson just made the movie a smash. I have a question though: The main stewardess on the plain, who is she?? She seems like the woman who played Jean Grey/Pheonix in the X-Men movies.....is that her??

If you recognize her from something, it would probably be ER since she was on the show for about six or seven years.
