The13thMan
1. There are plenty of things that won't die. Such as an ideal or a principle. 2. Don't speak in absolutes, some people do only have one love....also you misspelled "you're" ^L^. 3. Duh 4. I should slap you for making such a pathetically lame post. Later.
Well you shouldn't, dear sapling. Setting such sentences to select segments of the society that is OB is not only a salty snarl but is seriously sad as well. Also, take under scrutiny the solidity that as members of the said society, we are suffused with the strain to sustain the society's stature as a sanctum of the sociable and sometimes sympathetic subsistants of the Intarweb. Subsequently, saying that said segments should be slapped is sinister. The sense of what I've said is significant and you should subscribe to it straight away. Zephyr
Well, since people are biting into this already, how about a new spin. Here are three things to think about: (1) Zero Gravity When NASA first started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered that ball-point pens would not work in zero gravity. To combat this problem, NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 billion developing a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside-down, on almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to over 300 C. The Russians used a pencil. Your taxes are due again--enjoy paying them. (2) Our Constitution "They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq. Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it's worked for over 200 years and h***, we're not using it anymore." (3) Ten Commandments The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments in a Courthouse is that you cannot post "Thou Shalt Not Steal," "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery" and "Thou Shall Not Lie" in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians! It creates a hostile work environment. (I feel that number 1 is appropriate, due to fast approaching April 15th)

Alternatively, new things are always being created both animate and inanimate. Both now.. and, optimistically, 1k years from now. 2. If you are sure they are the love of your life make sure you hang onto them as tightly as possible. 3. I saw a clip about scuba divers and I saw one of them write something on a clipboard with a yellow stick (which I assumed was a pencil). This is a stability diagram for graphite/diamond. To the right of the univariant line are possible combinations of temperature and pressure where graphite is stable. You won't form diamonds 'til the presssure is at say, hmmm, 18 kbars or roughly about 18,000 time the standard sea level pressure, and 500 degrees Celsius. But pressures and temperatures inside a space ship are waaaay below those marks so clearly, graphite is stable even in space. Pencils are relevant to my interests.

You know, that is an interesting question, and I do not know for sure. I would think that since the average "#2 required for classes" leave behind a fine, and not too firmly rooted, powder it would be useless. However you can bet there are ones on the market that are able to do that, though I would venture a guess they are not graphite. Maybe a colored pencil, though I have no idea what they acutally use. (Now I am going to be contemplating this all night)

Zen
Here are things I ponder: 1. How can it be possible that we as a planet and world, are just a product of chance? 2. Why must people in general take their beliefs and doctrines so seriously, if doing so will only lead to that person's anger towards others of a different belief or doctrine. Why believe in something that will ultimatley make you unhappy? 3. Judaism, Christianity, Islam ----> Same God? 4. What is the point of hating another individual or group whom has done nothing against you personally? (i.e. homophobia, xenophobia) 5. Why am I such a Boss? That is about it for now.

All religions do have some form of a God thoguh.
Well, I meant that as a literal question. All three texts refer to many of the same figures as prophets and great men, and the Kohran literally refers to Christians and Jews as "Brothers in God". So, I do not understand why each group would hold another in contempt.
5.
