Zen
These are a series of my favorite/best drawings which I havn't lost or given away. I probably have more tucked away somewhere, but I'll continue updating any new ones I do. These are from over the past 3 years. Please tell me what you think: Naruto Temari & Shikamaru (Chuunin) Shino (Chuunin) Hyuga Neji (Jonin) Kankorou Shikamaru Rock Lee's Life Gate The Soul (Original Work) Soul vs. Cap The Soul The Swordsman The Fighter (Restrained) Masamune & Muramasa Homeless The Victims Misc. Favorite X-Men The Samurai The Rock Star Sanosuke Mach 5 Graf The Original Soul Hellboy Sketch Gan Ning (Dynasty Warriors 5) Some of the pics are older than others, which can be told by the paper's condition and the actual drawing itself. My style has evolved over time and continues to do so. Please comment.
Retribution
Well, I think that you certainly improved alot over time, whatever that timespan may have been. As for the pictures themselves -- I'd recommend you really, really study the human figure. You've got it down for the most part, but if you can practice doing completely bare-bones sketches and make it look convincingly real, you'll be well on your way to getting better. Honestly, I think you're good -- you're standing on the threshold between being great and pretty good, and if you want to get to the 'next level,' you'll have to put in alot of work. It's been like that with me and graphic design. On top of proportion and form is shading -- this is probably the most important thing when it comes to making things look convincing and 3D. Basically, study how light affects objects, and try to mimic it. I don't think you'll have to much trouble with it, as you've already been doing it in a good. So good work -- keep it up, man.
Epsilon
You've done a good job with your pointillism in your Naruto, Shino, fan art. And I really adore your citrus coloring and your blending style on Mach 5 Graf. As Retribution, you may want to study the human figure further. Since many of your characters' body compositions are off. Only if slightly, it redirects attention to the places where your positions and form may be off. You're light sources and more then 3/4 of the images seem accurate and fallow through out the image well. The only problem is I have is how some of it is more solid and does not fade as much. As I looked through, the way you've chosen to blend the pencil lead I wondered what type of medium you're using to shade. You may want to use a softer type of lead or do practice shading boxes t understand the amount of pressure needed to get the specific shades of grey. However, in terms of concepts I think you're doing a wonderful job. Especially in your original pieces, The Soul. The style of your drawings and the amount of detail are well balanced. I also like the colors you've chosen, the analogue and complimentary colors are well picked for the character's designs and, from what I can see, the characters' personalities.
