Your favorite mystical creature

i would have to say my favorite would have to be a phoenix. beautiful creatures that are reborn from the ashes of the flame that claimed their lives.

The Phoenix bird, dost thou not know him? The Bird of Paradise, the holy swan of song! On the car of Thespis he sat in the guise of a chattering raven, and flapped his black wings, smeared with the lees of wine; over the sounding harp of Iceland swept the swan's red beak; on Shakspeare's shoulder he sat in the guise of Odin's raven, and whispered in the poet's ear ?Immortality!? and at the minstrels' feast he fluttered through the halls of the Wartburg.

Anyway, onto what I call a true Sphinx.

A true Sphinx is like a cougar - a large cat with a sandy coloured coat - with sandy coloured feathered wings. I know that isn't much different but I like them better than the conventional Sphinx.[/size]

mine is the sea snake also called hydra.the hydra iis my favorite because it live in the sea in look like a dragon and my zodiac element is water.but the one thing that i like the most is the hydra can also be a mult-headed dragon on land.
