GuyYouMetOnline
War. War is a word that people in the land of Telthes do not use. This is not because war is something which they do not know. It's because in the land of Telthes, war is the constant state of things. War is the way things always are in Telthes, and it has been this way for long enough that war is seen as the normal state of things. The people of Telthes are divided into INSERT NUMBER HERE factions, and these factions are locked in constant struggles for control of the Throne of Telthes, the seat of the High King in times long past. Telthes was plunged into its current state of war as a result of disputes over who had the right to the throne. Though that was the motivation at the beginning, those claims are now long forgotten. The throne is still the objective of the warring factions, but few actually care about it. These days, people join the war for reasons unrelated to the claims of old. It may be because of loyalty to one's people, or out of a desire for vengence, or for one of many other reasons. Because of this continuous flow of willing fighters, the long war has continued to this day. Okay, the basic idea of this RPG is that thre are six factions fighting over the ancient Throne of Telthes. If this sounds familiar, it's because this RPG is basically the same as Phobia's Petal Throne RPG. Since Phobia seems to have abandoned Petal Throne before it even started, I decided to make my own version. The six factions are described below, and you may chose which one you want your character to belong to. Here's the list: Glowing Star: At the beginning of the war, Glowing Star emerged as the early power. Though Glowing Star's dominance faded as the war dragged on, it's still a force to be reckoned with. Glowing Star specializes in magic. Though not all of its fighters can use magic, it does have the largest number of magic-users of any faction by far, and even those who can't use magic tend to know a good deal about it, including how best to combat it. Emerald Fist: The Emerald Fist are the most honorable of the six factions. They believe in facing their opponents instead of resorting to trickery. The Emerald Fist do not fight without strategy, but their battle plans never involve things such as hidden attackers or concealed traps, which they consider cowardly. The fighting skill of the Emerald Fist is sufficient to make up for their refusal to use such strategies. The Emerald Fist have an intense hatred of the Black Falcon. Black Falcon: The Black Falcon fight using asassination and subterfuge. They prefer raids with smaller forces to straight-up battles between armies. The Black Falcon have mastered the art of cunducting operations with small forces in enemy territory. They asassinate enemy leaders, attack supply caravans, burn villages, etc. Though the Black Falcon are quite skilled at such operations, they are inferior when in comes to battles between full-sized armies. Crimson Blaze: The Crimson Blaze are pretty much the exact oppisite of the Black Falcon. The Crimson Blaze prefer brute force over strategy and subterfuge. Their strategists usually aren't as good as those of the other factions, but the size of their armies and the skill of their warriors makes up for their inferior strategy. However, when fighting an army of equal size, the Crimson Blaze usualy don't do so well. However, in numerical terms the Crimson blaze are by far the largest of the factions, so they are usually able to form armies larger than those of their opponents. Kutisok: The Kutisok are willing to accept any price for victory. They are considered the most radical of the factions, and many consider them to be crazy. Kutisok throw themselves into combat with seemingly little regard for their own lives. Kutisok do not care whether they live or die, so long as they emerge victorious. Suicide bombing is a common Kutisok battle strategy. Deadly Flower: The Deadly Flower faction is made up almost entirly of females. What males there are are there purely for procreational purposes. The women do all the fighting. However, this does not make them any less dangerous than the other factions. They are skilled and ruthless in battle, and underestimating them is almost always a fatal mistake. Okay, that's the faction list. Now, on to the sign-up. Here's the form: Name: Self-explanitory. Race: Your charater's race. Pretty much anything within reason is allowed (meaning no gods or anything like that). Use your imagination. And though I'll allow multiple characters to be of the same race, I'd like a variety of races. Please include a general description of the race if it's not well-known. Age: This will very depending on your race. Your character's age needs to be in the 'adulthood' range for that race. No kids. And nobody too old, either. Remember, our characters are warriors. Gender: Self-explanitory. I'll allow races with only one gender, so if your character's of such a race, just put 'n/a' Faction: Which faction your character belongs to. Remember that different factions specialize in different area. For example, a brute-force, 'tank'-type character would probably be a member of the Crimson Blaze faction, while an assasin is likely to belong to the Black Falcon. Also, I don't want to may people being in the same faction. I'll allow multiple people to sign up in the same faction, but I'd like to have at least one character in each of the factions, or at least most of the factions. Personality: This doesn't have to be too detailed. Just give us a general idea of how your character acts. Weapons and abilities: This is where you put how your character fights. Be sure to include what weapons your character uses, any magical abilities your character may have, etc. Note that race-related abilities can either be put here or in the 'race' section, whichever you prefer. And remember that this needs to fit with your character's faction. Bio/snippet: You may choose to do either a bio or a character snippet. And last but not least, here's my sign-up (and yes, I'm using the same character I signed up as in Petal Throne): Name: Saeneles Race: At first glance, Saeneles appears to be of the faerie, but upon closer inspection it becomes obvious that she is different. Because of the magical nature of the faerie, they are much more prone to change than races such as humans. From time to time, faeries are born who are fundamentally different from the rest of their kind. Saeneles is one of these. Saeneles is a bit taller than other faeries, around the average human height rather than the average faerie height. She does have wings, and is able to fly, although her wings don't appear to play as much of a role in this as one would expect. They're certainly necessary, but there's something more than them at work. Even Saeneles herself isn't entirely sure what it is. She never has to think about flying; it comes naturally to her. Age: 132 Gender: Female Faction: Glowing Star Personality: Saeneles is a very solitary individual. She keeps to herself, and it's rare for her to socialize. She can function just fine as part of a group, and has no problems with discussions of strategy and the like. And she's a fine team player. She just isn't very social. She doesn't make small talk or engage in pointless activites with others or anything like that. She prefers to keep to herself Saeneles is very confident of her abilities, but not overconfident or cocky. She knows her abilities very well, and is well aware of her limits. She will not knowingly rush into situations she can't handle. However, she's not one to give up easily. If she can't do something one way, she'll look for another way, and only after considering every possibility will she give up on anything. Weapons and abilities: Saeneles has magical powers greater than normal faerie. She is more in tune with the energies of magic, and therefore has greater command over them. However, use of her powers didn't come naturally like her flight. She had to learn to use her powers, to develop and hone them to perfection. But those powers, as a result of her stronger connection to the magic energies, are greater than the powers of other faerie. As a weapon, Selestiae wields a staff, and she's quite skilled with it. Bio: Saeneles has been alone for most of her life. She was always different, always unique. The other faerie children tended to distance themselves from her, as did the adults. At the time, she didn't understand why, bat as she grew older she realized that it was because she was different. In some way or another, they were afraid of her. Those who were different were always feared, and she was no exception. This became very obvious when, as soon as she was capable of fending for herself, she was forced to leave the village where she had lived her entire life. Saeneles had been exiled as a result of her differences. Her own kind had shunned her because of something beyond her control. Though she'd been alone for her entire life, it was this that solidified her preference for solitude, and her behavior of distancing herself from others. She lost her trust in others when her own kind exiled her for something beyond her control, something that had been set at the moment of her birth. Saeneles lived by herself in the forest. What time wasn't taken up by survival-related activities such as hunting for food, she used in the development and refinement of her powers. Eventually, she gained a level of control over her abilities that, as far as she knows, no one else has ever achieved. She simply spent more time on perfecting her abilities, put more effort into it. After all, she didn't have anything better to do. Saeneles was exiled by the faerie, and she feelst no loyalty towards them. However, the same is not true of the faction Glowing Star. She'd been raised as a member of the Glowing Star faction, and though the faerie had shunned her, the White Mist faction as a whole had not. She was still loyal to the Glowing Star faction, and so she eventually began to fight for the Glowing Star. She promptly demonstrated herself to be an invaluable asset for the faction. And although sometimes she was on the losing side in battles, she never did anything less than her very best, and when she was givne specific tasks to perform, she carried them out. She quickly made a name for herself as one of the most able warriors of the Glowing Star faction. Okay, I think that's everything. I'm going to make an Underground thread, so if you have any questions, ask them there (or you can PM me, though if you do that, other people can't see the answers for themselves). Deadpool
Lets see what I can do now Name: Grathos Karana Gender: Male Age: 127 Faction: Kutisok Race: Lokett. Karana. A demon race that revolves almost entirely around honor. They have a strong resemblence to lizards. They ranged in sizes and builds depending on which level of the strict caste system the belong. The bigger more stronger members of the tribe become the Karana, or the as you would know as the warrior half of a race. Karana are tall with pericing silver eyes and a variety of skin colors. They do see sucide as a means of the highest honor. Appearance: Bsesides the peircing silver eyes, Grathos' skin is a crimson red color with a white underbody and two black stripes going down his back. He has a pair of large dragon wings on his back that fold up when he does not use them. As with custom he has a very decorated set of armor. The chest and back plate are a bright silver with three black scratch mark symbols on them. The shoulder pauldrons are silver as well with three spikes coming out. His entire left arm is clad in metal with black spikes going down the side to his clawed glove, while his right arm is bare except for a black forearm bracer and a black bicep bracer, both with are studded in diamonds. He wears silver greaves and silver shin guards and silver boots. There is no metal on the bottom of the boots since he has more traction with the pads on his feet. He wears a black cloak connected to his pauldrons that conceals his entire body from view, dia katanna and all. His helmet helps bring out the dragon in him, with the horns on top ond the fangs on the side. Personality: Never goes back on his word at any time. Like every Kitoku he will know it is his time to die by a weird calling, something he has been waiting to hear but has never heard it in every battle he has gone to. He is cold and to the point, not wasting any time with small talk or anything of the sort. He belives that the only true conversations are by the swing of a blade and the clashing of metal. Snippet: Grathos stared out amongst the desert where many of his comrades had fallen and the appraoching army was closing fast. He waited to feel the calling but it never came. "It seems I am not to die today" He turned to his closest compainon and saw the look on his face. "Ahh seems you will get all the honor and glory this time." He cloak flew in the breeze as he was able to make out the banner of the opposing faction. "Jade Dragons." He raised his hand over his hand as the Kitoku appeared out of traps int he ground and other hiding spots, rushing the enemy with no regard for their life what so ever. He watched as the Jade Dragons cut them down as they neared but soon their line was borken. Suddenly a huge explosiong appeared as memebrs of the opposing faction flew into the air. Several more followed. "May you rest with the highest honor my comrades" He hopped down among the midst of the fighting and cut down enemy after enemy. Another explosion sent bodies and weapons flying through the air. Grathos ducked as a cart went over his head, hitting several soldiers behind him. "My friend, now is your chance" He turned to the edge of the canyon were his companion stood and put his hands together and chanted the Honor Call. Another explosion ripped through the wall as the canyon wall came down upon the Jade Dragons taking out a nice portion of their army. Another soldier repeated the Honor Call and blocked them in. Grathos smiled as th rest were cut down where they stood. "Today was another glorious battle" Another explosion was heard, one that was not supposed to happen. He turned to the nearest soldier. "What was that?" The soldier made a small bow. "Several Shadow Raiders tried to attack but were unsuccessful due to the Honor Call" Grathos nodded as he turned his head to the sky staring out into space. Kitty
Name: Aoi Hada Race: Half-Dragon. Daughter of a dragon shapeshifter and a human, Aoi was born a half-dragon, a rare breed of humanoid creatures with dragon characteristics (long life span, scales, a horn, wings, tail, exaggerated teeth and claws). Her scales are blue while her eyes are bright yellow, and her long hair is blonde. Age: 116 Gender: Female Faction: Glowing Star Personality: Aoi holds a high rank in the Glowing Star, and is one of the most fearsome looking, as well. One's first thought of her after seeing her would be she was a violent, cold-hearted creature. However, this couldn't be further from the truth. Passive, submissive, caring and self-sacrificing, Aoi hates the idea of anyone being in pain, but she is expected to fight because of her strength and usefulness. During battle, she is very conservative of her powers, using as little force as she possibly can until her own, or a fellow faction member's, life is threatened. Weapons and Abilities: Being of blue dragon decent, Aoi has the ability to create and control lightning. As a half-dragon, she doesn't have the natural strength of a full-fledged dragon (though she is at least ten times stronger than a human), so she has trained as a summoner, and is now able to call upon spirits and occasionally other dragons as well. She used to rely heavily on her book of summons, but can now do many of them without it. She does keep it with her at all times, however. Snippet: Soaring high above the battle-scarred fields, Aoi cheerfully twirled about in the air, her blue wings creating strange patterns in the clouds. She was smiling and laughing for the first time in a long time, and with good reason. Her training had been grueling while her master was demanding and unforgiving, leaving her with no reason to be cheerful. But now, she was free. "It's finally done!" she giggled quietly to herself before spiraling downwards towards the ground. Pulling up from her nosedive just as her nose felt the tickle of wheat, she glided for a few more moments before falling into the embrace of the crop. Sprawled out as much as she could, Aoi stared up at the sky. As she rested, thinking quietly to herself, she decided she might as well give it a try. She took a moment to stand back up, the many tall strands of wheat clinging to her stalling her. Then, to concentrate, she took a deep breath and clapped and rubbed her hands together, the sound of thunder suddenly shaking the calm of the field. "Alright... Lets give this a shot." She pulled her hands apart and held them out while staring intently at the empty space between them. Three seconds passed before a white circle appeared which she pulled a thick, leather-bound book out of. Flipping through the pages, she found a familiar creature: a phoenix. "This will be easy!" she mumbled to herself. Holding out her right hand as she held the book in her left, she made a few signs before closing her eyes. After a second or two, the sky turned from light blue to dark red as a fiery circle appeared before her. Slowly, the circle began to take the shape of a bird. Finally, with a flash of light, a phoenix floated patiently before her, waiting for instructions. "I did it!" Aoi cried happily. "Now all I have to do is figure out how Master does it without a book..." As she fell into thought, she began wandering through the field towards the hut, her summoned creature floating behind her. --- OOC: Though I haven't said anything in the underground thread, I'd still really like to participate in this thing. Here's my character again, though I edited some of the sign up to suit the new factions, and her old name was bugging me. ^_^;
Redemption
Name: Touka Ichimaru Gender: Female Age: 31 (Tiegrians live to about the age of 130) Faction: Deadly Flower Race: Tiegrian - a race made almost of purely females that are dedicated to the Deadly Flower faction. Their most distinguishable marks are the ears and tail of a cat on a naturally-looking human female body. However, the women from this race are incredibly strong and agile, as well as fierce fighters. And, they have another small gift, but I'm not going to give that away. Personality: Being a Tiegran, Touka is a strong, resilient kind of person. She fights fiercely against her enemies - like a lioness protecting her cubs. Her tough exterior hides the fact that she cares about her kind and the other girls in the Deadly Flower faction, and as cliche as it might sound, would fight viciously to protect any of her warriors that were in danger. Bio: Touka is a well-respected fighter in the Deadly Flower faction. She has fought in many battles, and is renouned for her fierceness and skill with the Kiju (a staff with a magical orb at the top that is said to explode on impact - the orb can also swing out of the staff, attached by a chain). Her reputation on the battlefield has earned her the nickname 'Man-eater', given to her by her enemies. But her history holds the reason of why Touka is the way she is. When she was a kitten (a young child), her sisters and mother were sent to war against the other factions, leaving Touka with her elderly grandmother. Her sisters and mother were gone for lengthy periods of time, leaving Touka to care for her grandmother as she grew up. Everyday since she was big enough to hunt, Touka had to do the chores of the house - cleaning, hunting, gathering wood and water and taking care of her grandmother, who grew sicker in her old age. When the old lady passed away, Touka was left alone. Her mother and sisters weren't returning home anymore, since they had been sent to far away places to fight. She now lived alone. She still did her chores but seemed to have more free time on her hands with her grandmother now passed on. Bored, Touka began to train herself, just in case someone, or something attacked her. OOC: Touka's appearance is in the original thread of 'Petal Throne'. She has dark charcoal grey hair with dark grey, pointed cat ears and a long but thin dark grey tail.
Imp
Hmmm... I have two characters I want to use and it'll be really tough deciding which one to RP... *takes 15 minutes to decide* OK, here goes: Name: Ametite Race: Harpy. Many people often have different opinions about this race's characteristics, but they are basically perfect crosses between humans and birds. The females are very different from the males--the males look more like angels and are much less aggressive. A typical hapry in this RPG's purposes would look something like this, but sometimes their skin or feather colour is different. In Ametite's case, her skin is a grayish purple and her feathers a dark indigo, plus she looks a little older than in the picture. Age: 16 Gender: Female Faction: Black Falcon Personality: Ametite is determined to stick to anything she enters out of interest, including any sort of conflict or war. In most cases, she doesn't rest until whatever it is is over, or in some cases to plan things out. Speaking of which, Ametite rarely acts directly or on command, but rather takes others by surprise or invents creative strategies to things. When against an enemy, she'll sneak behind its main lines of defense and try to get at the source or weak spot. Weapons/Abilities: To be a successful fighter, Ametite's hands must be free, so weapons are far from necessary. Apart from the claws, the cunning stealth, and all those other racial characteristics, Ametite also has hypnotic abilities, which range from simple suggestion to mind control depending on user and target's mental status. Bio: Not too long before Ametite was born, a large flock of harpies immigrated to the Mystic Star Forest because they had some problems with snakes in some other forest. Ametite was the first and only harpy actually born in the forest--others were raised by a nearby lake, the harpies' "retreat spot". Anyways, these harpies were seen as a threat to the forest's environment, fir the other creatures that lived there were small and benevolent, and not used to any predators larger and more deadly than foxes. So, people from the nearby village of Geos set out on a mission to kill all the harpies before they posed any further threats. The harpies of Mystic Star Forest tried to beat back the forces from Geos, but Geos had too strong a leader--some rabbit-man named Turue. Turue did most of the successful killing in this "harpy hunt". This hunt started about three years after Ametite was born, and in fact Ametite's father was the first one who died in it. Ametite's first reaction to this was to be overwhelmingly scared, so she fled to the lake where her mother was currently waiting. Ametite was mad at the forces from Geos, but she felt too little to do anything about it. Anyways, her mother took care of her for a few years, until Ametite was a little bit older and learned all the hunting skills that were expected of those her age. Then, her mother invited her to join her in finally facing the people of Geos. They entered the forest again--but Ametite for some reason fell behind and got lost. She tried on her own to find her mother again, and she succeeded, but in the most unfortunate way. When she found her mother, she saw Turue fighting her. It was quite a short fight--and Ametite's mother was the one whose life was taken. This drove Ametite further into the fight--she now had a vendetta against "the little bunny boy". However, she never really got to Turue directly but instead threw stones on the village, looted his house, or fed the civilians to the lions living in the nearby desert. Meanwhile, more harpies were either killed or fled back to the other forest they came from. Eventually, Ametite was the only harpy left. Luckily, the rest of the forest was beginning to return back to its peaceful state--all thanks to an elf named Nettle but referred to as the "friend of the forest". Nettle wanted to protect the forest, but she knew she was powerless against a whole army of harpies or a whole village led by a bunny man. But, when Ametite was the only harpy left, most Geos civilians had taken a break and gone back home, so only Turue was left still fighting. This little war had become a one-on-one battle. Then, one night a little girl ran off into the forest. Ametite had developed a hatred of humans since many lived in Geos, so she picked her up and tried to kill her. However, Turue stopped her by capturing her and putting her in a cage, thus saving the girl. It was Nettle that released Ametite the following morning, saying that she kind of sided with the harpies but still wished Ametite would not plot such a harsh revenge against Turue. She also told Ametite of a certain throne she could possibly inherit one day, and that some group called the Black Falcons were fighting for that throne but also needed new members--quite badly. Ametite knew there was no fun in taking care of just one person, so she agreed to join the Black Falcons--besides, Nettle continued the fight against Turue long enough for Ametite to leave the forest. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I didn't want to make the bio much longer than that... Darth Vectis
Name: Carthage Caznim Gender: Male Age: 131 Faction: Black Falcon Appearance: Carthage. Race: Demon, Ashrak: Ashrak demons are known for their humanoid look, but they only look human from a distant. If you get close enough, you?ll see the similarities stop there. Ashraks skin tends to be charcoal black and they have burning red eyes, they have long fangs that sometimes hang over the sides of their lips. Personality: Due to the nature of his race, Carthage remains unfeeling and distant. He keeps his focus on what his mission is and lets nothing distract him. He also hardly reflects any emotion in his face, remaining stoned face at all times and keeping cool and calm so he can think rationally and quickly in dire situations. Weapons/Abilities: Carthage uses a wide variaty of knives and daggers, changing them everytime he does a knew job, except for one 17 inch dagger called Stiehl. It goes with him every where, Carthage is better known for his speed and reflexes and his effective killing techniques of combing swift blows to soft or vital areas and his natural speed. Snippet: The wind blew hard against the destroyed land, the broken banners flapped nosily in the wind. The ground charred and burnt horribly from the constant fighting, corpses lay about the ground, some already just bones in armor or in simple cloth. All the bones had either been bleached from the sun or black from a recent attack of magic fire. Carthage enjoyed every second of traveling through this wasteland, the moon covered by clouds in the night. His natural skin color giving him the perfect camouflage, his clothes did the same, except for the blood red color that was threaded into it as well. His eyes searching through the darkness quickly, looking for his target, the enemy camp that he was sent to find and to eliminate a commander. These were the missions he thrived on; the camp would most likely be heavily guarded and nearly impossible for any normal person to get into it. But, then again, he wasn?t a normal person. He was and Ashrak demon and his speed alone would almost guarantee his entrance and exit. But the mission of assassinating the commander would demand his skills alone he smiled at how this might prove to be a challenge. He smiled in a wicked way when he spotted the camp from a far, the fires burning brightly and the soldiers all were visible. It was lightly garrisoned, looked more like a raiding crew then a sign that more were on the way. He moved quickly and silently to a nearby tree, he climbed up as quietly and moved along the branches in a crouched position. He moved to the edge of a thick branch and hid carefully behind the leaves. He peaked out from behind the thick cover and looked around, he saw two guards right of the bat, he then looked harder and could see the tent the commander was in, eating a large meal by himself while the guards stood idle outside his tent. Carthage smirked and waited for a few moments, he watched the guards patrol patterns and saw that two guards passed right under the tree he was concealed in. This gave him a good opportunity, he waited for the guards to pass again and drew a nine inch dagger from his belt and waited a second longer for the guards to be positioned right. When he saw they were spaced properly he dropped from his position and stabbed his dagger through the guards back into his left lung. He leaped off the guards back and landed on the other guard, also stabbing him through his back into his right lung this time. He back flipped and turned quickly and stabbed the previous guard in the throat, he fell over dead. Carthage whipped around again and lunged at the injured guard and stabbed him through his heart, slicing through his coronary artery, killing him instantly. Carthage sheathed his dagger quickly and dragged the bodies up into the tree, propping them up so they wouldn?t fall over and would remain invisible to other guards. He dropped from the tree once more and drew the same dagger. He got low and traveled in the shadows, inching his way closer to the commander?s tent and getting ever closer to completing his mission. And in no time, he was right on the side of the tent, the commanders back facing this side. The guards at the front at back of the tent never knew he was there; he inserted his dagger through the material of the tent and slowly dragged it down the side of the tent, cutting open a nice hole for him. He quietly stepped in through the hole; he made his way to the commander and prepared to end his life. Carthage took his knife and stabbed it through the back of his neck, cutting his spinal cord in half and sent the blade all the way through to the other side. The man stopped dead and dropped greatly, Carthage pulled his blade out and went out the way he came, he then made his way to the weapons storage tent and went inside. Noticing that there were no guards at this tent. He then took several different weapons, all of them small enough to carry but looked valuable enough to make the camp think someone looted them and killed the commander. He exited the tent then left the immediate area of the camp; he went out several yards then placed each weapon on a corpse. Doing what he could to make it looked damaged from the battle. When he finished he went back to the camp, finishing the set up of a hit and run scenario. None of the guards survived that night, he killed the last one just as easily as the first. He wiped the blood on the guards cloak and sheathed it. He let out a deep breathe and started his trip home, he spoke to himself as he headed home. ?That was fun. Hopefully the army that will arrive in a few days will assume it was a hit and run. But if they don?t, they?ll assume some other faction killed the camp and took what weapons they thought were good to use.? Carthage smiled and chuckled as he shifted through the shadows.
Starwind
Name: James Terran Gender: Male Age: 26 Faction: Black Falcon Apperance: James Terran. He is 5'10 and 175 lbs. He has a toned athletic build. Race: Watcher(human)- A race of misfits. They have no definitive source of origin, or race of preference. They are considerd cursed at birth and are often times killed at the same time. As they grow older the masks, that are characteristic of the race, slowly grow larger, til it eventually conpletely conceals there face. They are a race caught between heaven, earth, and hell. Though they are not born with there masks, which only starts to appear in the sixth year, they are born with a cresent shaped mark, usually on the back of there necks, that shows what they are. There curse gives them hightend strength and speed, compared to the norm of there represenative race. The down side is that there souls aren't the only things divided. They often have multiple personalities, making them unpertictable. There is no way to be sure which is the original since they are born this way as well. No one side is ever able to obtain complete dominance, so there inner mind is in a state of constant turmoil. Personality: There are many different sides to him and they each vary. For the most part he is placid and almost robotic in apperance. He doesn't seem to have any emotions, but this can rapidly change. He often shifts, betweent this and his combat personality, who is exactly what you would expect. Wicked, cruel, sadistic, and manipulative. Beyond combat he is also known to shift to compassionate and even loving at times. His inner turmoil often leaves him emotionally exhausted, resulting in the dry emotional state that he exhibits so often. Weapons/Abilities: Heathen Gauntlets. He prefers hand to hand combat, and these help him in dealing with armed opponents. His skills involve quick strikes and fast leg work. Bio: When he was born it was all to obvious what he was, and his parents wanted the doctors to kill him. The factions heads stepped up instead and took him under there 'care'. They wanted to experiment with using Watchers as soilders. In the past, though they were strong, they were unperdictable and usually uncontrolable. But this had not discouraged them from trying more. There dark nature made them a useful addition to there steath factions. James was taken and named by his training commander and was put through a series of rigirous psychological as well as physical tests. Like others of his kind, as he grew older, his face began to become concealed behind his mask, which now leaves only half of his face visible. They feared that he would be yet another lost cause, but eventually his mental state became so fractured that he fell into states of mental and emotional fatigue fairly easily. True this would hinder his cognitive capibilities, but this also made him more complient and easier to manipulate, so long as none of his personalities bacme too active. He was deployed on his first operatives mission when he was 12. They sent him in to fly solo, to see the extent of his skill, even in a fatigued state. On his first mission he killed 4 Crimson Blayze soilders. The research and training teams considerd this a huge victory and decided to go full speed ahead with the project. Only one problem. Since Watchers were born completely at random and to any given race and were usually killed at birth, this means that the project has been slow moving at best. To date, there are only 4 active watcher operatives in the Black Flacon faction, the oldest of which is James. James now acts as the leader of one of the special ops teams. The upper levels simply use his kind as a crutch to secure the Telthes Throne. But among his kind there is no unity, nor comradery.
Monkatraz
Name: Olan Race: Half-Elven, Half-Human. He retains mainly human traits but also possesses elvish finesse and subtlety. Age: 29 Gender: Male Faction: Emerald Fist Personality: Olan is known, for better or for worse, for his calmness, his romanticism, and his tendency to talk rather than act, which leads many's perception of him to believe he is weak or cowardly, though that is far from the truth. Deep down, he strongly dislikes killing and even though he is known to be a duelist few have notice that never once has he killed an oponent. While his peers seem to focus on fighting the war, Olan's goals are moreover to end it with as little death as possible, especially from his own soldiers. Weapons and Abilities: Olan is a master of dueling with his cutlass and dagger. When he fights he does so with swift and accurate strikes that he uses to incapicitate his opponents in little time. Bio: Olan was born into the Emerald Fist as a illegitimate son to a minor aristocratic family, which marked him throughout his entire life and because of which he was often treated with disrespect or worse (in his mind) pity. As he grew up, he lived on the outskirts of the Emerald Fist's kingdom, and more than once the war with the Black Falcon clan touched his home. One day the Black Falcon attacked and burned his home town, believing there to be a large garrison of troops (which there were not). Olan survived the battle, though nearly everyone else in the town had not, including his family. Even though they were the ones that mocked and disrespected him, Olan could not help but pity them as they lay slain. That pity affected Olan so strongly that it was then that he began to hate death. He saw how weak and pathetic the slain were, and he pitied them so much that he decided that only the worst of villains truly deserved death and that even though they had killed their opponents, they were no closer to accomplishing their goals. While he knew that going as far to say that violence never solves anything would be false, he also knew that killing those who serve was not going to bring war any closer to an end. After leaving the burnt town, he was sent to live with distant relations away in the capital. There he lived much more richly and was even somewhat envied for being Half-Elven, rather than being hated and pitied for being a bastard. The part of his family he lived with now were all known for their prowess for commanding soldiers and he was expected to lead troops once he was old enough. That is when he decided to study the artistic way of fighting known as fencing. He deducted that a style that emphasized accuracy would be suitable for disabling (and not killing) foes, if he were ever forced into a battle. Later he enterred service of the Emerald Fist's forces, with the intention of increasing his stature and protecting the warriors. Although he is both a competent leader and masterful warrior his tactics lead him to be regarded as a coward by others amongst the Emerald Fist. Few recognize his skill because he uses it to stop or prevent battles rather than win them. More often than not he has forced his enemies into a retreat or standstill using only skillful maneuvering. GuyYouMetOnline
OKay, here's a list of people who are accepted, arranged by faction: Glowing Star: Myself as Saeneles, Kitty as Aoi Hada Emerald Fist: Monkatraz as Olan Black Falcon: Nefertimon as Ametite, Sin as Carthage Caznim, Starwind as James Terran Kutisok: Sazabi as Grathos Karana Deadly Flower: Kura as Touka Ichimaru Okay, I think we have enough Black Falcon members. There still isn't anyone in Crimson Blaze, so I'd like it if someone could sign up as a member of that faction. And again, if you have any questions, please post them in the Underground thread. Random
Name: Sienna Kor Addy, or simply Ska Race: Wood Elf Age: 140, equivilant to 28 in "human years" Gender: Female Apperance: Ska Faction: Deadly Flower Personality: Ska is a brute, for lack of better words. She loves to kill things, and isn't afraid to jump into situations without thinking...which often gets her into trouble. Her "who cares" attitude has more often than not kept people at a distance, and has no real friends, except Tokua. If you could call her a friend. Ska doesn't really trust anyone, and makes it well known. She is flamboyant, outspoken, rude, and all around the epitemy of a jerk. She rarely does something for someone, that is unless they are more powerful than she, or the price is right... Weapons and abilities: Ska is a master marksman with her bow, and isn't too shabby with hand-to-hand combat. Her silver/gold-plaited yew bow, Windspell, and matching quiver where her mothers, and where passed on to Ska when she was of age. Her hand-to-hand weapon, Waker, is a weapon she forged herself. Ska's abilities are unique, not all of them rooted in her Elfish background. Obviously, she is quick-of-foot, has keen senses, and is very limber and agile. She also has the ability to speak with trees...rather the Nyads that dwell within said trees. Due to her unusual upbringing, she is a seasoned smith, able to bend metal with the use of fire. Although fire is often an opposing force to the Wood Elf, Ska is not the typical... Bio/snippet: Meh...it's already started, and I'm already in...other than that, I'll keep her history secret....for now. EDIT: Almost finished...just the snippet and personality left!
kalon
Using my old character with a few tweaks. Name: Kiris Oth Race: Sylph. Sylph are a graceful, winged, and often beautiful race. They are creatures of the air who have the winds at their call. Sylph look close to humans, but their wings determine their body type and markings. Kiris is one of the raven-winged sylph. Sylph with raven wings are as tall as an average human male and sinewy, although they still retain slender frames. Black, curved markings twist around their arms, and back. Their hair is ebony, their irises are almost as dark as their pupils, and their skin is a dark tan. Age: 36. Sylph reach maturity at 16, and usually live to be 200. Gender: Female Faction: Emerald Fist Personality: Kiris prefers to have only one or two close friends with no more contact than neccessary. She is sweet around the few people she likes, but will turn vicious on the battlefield. Her strong will and sharp mind make her a good strategist. Values she holds dear are loyalty, couage, and forthrightness. Weapons and Abilities: As stated in her race, Kiris can control the wind. She wields twin short swords. The one wielded in her right hand is called Judgment and has serrated, double edged, silver blade, and a black hilt. In her left hand she carries Justice, which has a black, single-edged blade and silver grip. Each has an emerald embedded in the pommel. Bio: Kiris spent her younger years in peace, as her family chose to stay away from the fighting. She developed a love of nature, music, and poetry. Her clan was massacred in a fire started by the Black Falcons when Kiris was ten. This led to her joining the Emerald Fist, the faction who most hated the Black Falcons. She trained day and night to better herself in both mind and body, keeping vengeance close to her heart. Her goal is the destruction of the rival factions, specifically the Black Falcons, but she wants to win through skill and tactics. Any other means of victory would be meaningless to her. Kiris spends endless hours strategizing and reviewing the weaknesses of other factions, but still retains some of her childhood hobbies. Often she will play the flute before or after a battle, although the reason behind this is often confusing to her comrades.
Kenso
Name: Therium Larin Velux Race: Half-fang Dragon LeShay; The LeShay are an enigmatic race, longer-lived than even the elves, living quite literally forever. Indeed, many speculate that elves are actually descended from LeShay. Remarkably agile creatures, LeShay hold an elven-like grace. Therium is an oddity, in that he is a half-blood LeShay and does not possess most of their abilities, which simply don't carry well unless the child is a pure-blood. Age: 136 Gender: Male Faction: Crimson Blaze Personality: Therium very rarely talks. He acts. It's not that he's anti-social or anything like that. Indeed, he's quite comfortable in a social atmosphere (especially as his half-dragon heritage isn't actually that readily apparent, aside from his fangs, claws, wings, and eyes). It's just that he feels that actions are far more conductive than words for the most part. There are a few things where he'll talk first, but not many. For instance, he is all too aware of the dangers of acting too quickly with women, and generally resorts to his relatively smooth talking first. In battle, he wastes no time on taunts and clever insults. He just kills. Weapons and abilities: To sound horrendously cliche, Therium IS a weapon. However, this isn't due to some crazy martial arts ability, though he is highly-trained in various styles, or some weird genetic manipulation. As a LeShay, he creates his own weaponry, quite literally, and his half-dragon nature has enhanced that ability, helping to make up for all the LeShay abilities it actually managed to hinder. He is known for creating exceedingly strange weapons as spur of the moment ideas, and is usually fairly proficient in their use. Bio/snippet: A test, again. Always tests. Did they not trust my ability? Did they not believe I was capable of holding my own in a real fight? Missions are what I longed for. I wanted to go out into the real combat, do something. I wanted to watch the blood of my enemies running down my blades, watch their bodies torn asunder as I ripped into them. Of course, I knew why. I wasn't like other warriors of the Crimson Blaze. My physical strength, while definitely above that of a normal human by a very high margin, simply didn't keep up with that of most of the other warriors of the Crimson Blaze. The strength of the Crimson Blaze warriors was utterly legendary, and even I as a half-dragon barely kept up. I was almost an oddity. But they did value their skilled warriors most highly, and I was working on proving myself to be one of those skillful fighters. I stepped into a gladiatoral arena complex, fully prepared for some low-ranking Crimson Blaze warriors who'd gotten on someone's bad side. What I found was nowhere near it. Two high-ranking officials, one a human genetic experimentation known as a Juggernaut, insanely strong and fairly resistant to damage, the other a Scouter Gargoyle, a fast aerial expert also known to be capable of resisting a fair amount of damage. Well, ex-high-ranking officials. Both had been imprisoned on counts of treason and were awaiting execution. What the heck were they doing in here? "Therium, this will be your final test. These two officials have been told that they will be released from custody, though stripped of all ranking, if they defeat you. It is a battle to the death. Should you win, you will start having true missions assigned to you. Begin." And they began. Before I'd moved, the huge fist of the Juggernaut official was crashing into my chest. I tried to bend with the blow, lessen the impact, but it launched me instead. The Gargoyle was in the air behind, ready to strike at my back, but that was NOT going to happen. I tucked into a ball, twisting my body to entirely face the gargoyle, then untucked, my wings unfurling as my arms swung out. Chains sprung from each hand and wrapped themselves around the gargoyle's ankles. I yanked on the chains, hard, throwing myself high into the air, launching the gargoyle behind me, allowing the chains to dissipate so I didn't stop its movement. The Juggernaut's next punch was headed for where I had been, and where the gargoyle was. The gargoyle crashed to the ground, its back crushed by the Juggernaut's powerful blow. Two greatswords appeared in my hands. Normally too large for anyone to wield in one-hand comfortably, I had the bonus that they held practically no weight to me, thanks to my weapon-generating abilities. Now I was going to have to use some real force. The Juggernaut charged as I landed. I smirked. They always seemed to charge. Haven't actually finished the snippet, but I'm just not feeling up to it right now (getting tired). Will edit later, unless this is good enough. GuyYouMetOnline
Ecstasy and silver_blade, you're in. That gives us a total of two Deadly Flower and two Emerald Fist members. MoyakuKeramushe, you're sign-up is pretty good. The only change you need to make is to get rid of the immortality thing. I realize that you're not saying that your character can't be killed, just that he can't die of age. However, I still need you to remove that part. Do that, and you're in. That gives us a Crimson Blaze member. Another Crimson Blaze member would be good, as would another Kutisok member. However, you can still sign up in one of the other factions (except for Black Falcon. We have enough Black Falcons). I'll start this RPG sometime within the next couple of days. EDIT: Okay, this RPG has started. Everyone's in (though you still need to edit your sign-up, MoyakuKeramushe). Sign-ups will remain open for the time being, so you can still sign up if you want to.
