Kenshin DX
I couldnt find this thread so I made my own if its been done before feel free to lock it. To start Gun x Sword(pronunced Gun Sword) is about a man name Vaan searching for his fiancees killer. A man with a claw. Along the way he meets a young girl named Wendy after saving her she teams up with him to find her brother.Thats the general plot summary of the show. Ill start with animation it is almost as good as Gantz in that department. Smooth, crisp, and fluid this is one of the best looking animes Ive ever seen. Its real eye candy. Plot eh.... its decent keep in mind Ive only seen episodes 1-4 but from what Ive seen its nothing special. Im sure it gets better but its nothing to keep you begging for more. Ill post more on how the story devlops as soon as the next DVDs released.I have high hopes for this one and intend to stick with it. Action is so-so Vaan carries a sword but most of the combat takes places in giant robots called Armors. Think along the lines of Scryed in that the action is very brief and consits of one hit KOs depending on whos hit the stronger power level. Its not bad but not breathtaking. With that being said Gun Sword has some great potential. The hunt for Vaans killer will only add more twists and turns to the series. Im sure the story will pick up later on. As well as the action. Seeing how Ive seen animes with slow starts pick up momentum fast.
Dagger
The first four episodes are decent rental material, but they really don't cover any new ground (I actually think the first four episodes of Trinity frickin' Blood were more compelling, to be painfully honest). The mustache enemies went a little too far into Bizarro World for me, much like the Martian in that one episode of Kamichu. I loved episode 1, though--the style, the introductory villain of the week, all that good stuff. I'm looking forward to Netflixing the rest of the show. ~Dagger~
Kenshin DX
Yes that mustache thing was weird. And I agree the first episode was pretty good it just hasnt picked up since then. From what Ive read of the second DVD thoguh it looks like things are going to get more intresting. Im hoping for some better action scenes and something to keep me intrested in the story. Since i can see people losing faith and giving up on it.
Ben Holiday
Just started watching this recently but only have seen the first 12 or 13 episodes so far the mustache army was a bit strange all I could think of was that stupid Bo-bo-bo show. So far my favorite episode was with the old team of armor pilots another decent one was when they get stranded on a private island. But the action does seem a little simple as mentioned in posts above otherwise I like the story and artwork I'm hoping the fights will pick up a bit more now that it's at the halfway point so hopefully I can track down the rest of the series soon. Kenshin DX
After watching episodes 5-9the series has picked up with the inclusion of Alex he is a great character and a good rival for Vaan not to mention his Armor is awesome. The episodes that included him were great. The action is finally becoming alot more intresting with Vaans fight on the island and aganist the giant Snake Armor. Its definetly an improvement to when the sereis started. Im glad the characters back stories are being fleshed out more and more. While I wouldnt say its the best new anime its pretty damn good.
miss april
I have recently watched these few episodes and I admired this show! Van, somehow may look like Spike of Cowboy Bebop (but not really similar). The storyline is really very interesting to watch because he also deliver vengeance against evil.
Do you still remember Ai Emma of Girl from Hell?
He may have the sad past, and he is also accompanied by a little lady named Wendy! And some scenes turned out to be funny.
I still remember Wendy engaging to Van that she wanted him to be her husband, in front of a church in Evergreen!
Another one, he also likes milk, and does his own thing! I like this show, anyway because his stance may reminds me of Zorro, except that he uses the letter V. Fighting scenes are also good to see; DANN really rocks! I really like the design of DANN and the shining armor... :animenose
Kenshin DX
I made a thread on this ages ago. http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?t=53926&highlight=Gun+Sword Gun x Sword starts off decent but doesnt really pickup. I enjoyed the series a lot morewhen Alex was introduced but even then it didnt take off and I was really expecting a lot more from the series. Good watch just nothing memorable. Mods could you move this post to my original thread?
miss april
Sorry about the mistake but I really been missing something else. i just have to make things better. Maybe, I would have to discuss some animes that are not listed here. But anyway, I have to admit that Gun x sword is really a good anime. That's all I can say. :animedepr
