Welcome to the Tree-House

This is the Underground thread for my newest RP, Neverland. It is here that you can post any questions, queries, ideas and suggestions you have about the game, the sign-up forms, the general mythos behind the RP world, anything you like.

This is also where any and all out-of-character discussions will take place once the RP has started. I am not expecting any OOC posts in the actual game thread.

Characters

This is where I will post the character list as it develops, as people sign up.

Peter Pan - Blayze

Contenders:

Tiger Lily - cancer
John Darling - Starwind, Ezekiel
Tinkerbell - Hinata
Original Lost Punk Character - Revelation (Slightly)
Wendy Darling - Blase, Dhampir
Michael Darling - silver_blade

But remember, these are only the contenders for each place. You can challenge these people if you think you can make a better sign-up for them.

Locations

There are a number of locations which you will need to know about in Neverland, and as they appear I will post information about them in this section. However, as of yet, there is only one place you need to know about:

The Tree-House

The Tree-House, a structure built from hard, sturdy wooden planks, is essentially the powerbase of the Lost Punks. However, when I say "powerbase," I mean "place where the Lost Punks hang out." The Punks have no particular agenda which they follow, and mostly spend the day doing what they please in and around the Tree-House.

The Tree-House is simply a collective name for the large number of tree-houses there are, gathered around a single, large oak tree. Within this tree-house resides Peter Pan, the leader of the Lost Punks. Below this is a slightly smaller treehouse, where the beautiful, mysterious temptress Tiger Lily lives.

Around this central tree-house, there are at least fourteen or fifteen other tree-houses, all linked together either with rope-bridges, or simply long pieces of rope used to swing between trees. The other Lost Punks live here, with the size and quality of the tree-houses varying from the upper ranks (the first Lost Punks to join) to the much lower ranks (the most recent additions to the team).

Groups

Thus far, there are only two groups present. The Lost Punks and the Pirates. This is where any information about various groups in the RP will be posted.

The Lost Punks

These are all the children that Captain Hook has collected from the mortal realm. He attempted to use them as slaves, but they broke free of his command and became a rebel group, opposing him. However, they soon realised that there was much more fun to be had lying around, relaxing, than there was fighting Hook.

They are led by Peter Pan, the very first child to be stolen from the mortal realm by Hook. He is a strong-willed young man, more of a teenager than a child now. He alone has the courage and the strength to lead the Lost Punks, but in recent years he has lost his devotion to the cause, and now spends his time relaxing, trying to fill a void in his life with anything he can come across.

They have access to various weapons, but they are simply small weapons, catapults, slingshots, knives and the like. Only Peter and a few others even have the skill necessary to use these weapons, so a full-scale uprising against Hook would be futile.

The Pirates

In the beginning, Hook's Pirates were the men and women who worked at the theme park. However, once they began to steal children from the mortal realm, some of them turned against Hook, seeing this as disgraceful, obscene behaviour. So he brainwashed each and every one of them to become his own private army, used to keep the Lost Punks in order.

The only memeber of his staff that didn't try to desert him was his chief financier, a subservient man named Smee. He served Hook completely of his own free will, no brainwashing required. He has since become Hook's most trusted advisor, although he has a treacherous side to him.

They have access to weapons such as tazers, buzz-batons (which are essentially tazers in truncheon/baton form) and long knives. Their equipment is very much scavenged from throughout the ages, from every time zone they have existed during. This means that they have weapons such as swords and axes, as well as more modern weapons such as tazers.

Other Information

I will post any other information I feel is relevant here, if it doesn't fit into any of the above categories.

Chapters

This RP will be played in chapters, but, for the most part, they will be non-structured chapters. This means that, although there will be certain objectives that need to be completed in each chapter, there will be no posting order, meaning that anyone can post any time they like, although in some cases I may place posting restrictions on people I feel are posting more than others.

---

That's all the information I can post at the moment, if there are any questions I haven't answered with the above information then please feel free to ask them.

Since this has just presently come up:
What happens to the member that does not get chosen for the role of a character after they've been challenged? Are they simply out of the RPG altogether? Or are they able to sign-up as another character?
I'm just asking, as I'd like to know the fate of either me or Dhampir in our little... "battle" for the place of Wendy.

Unfortunately, Blase, my options in this matter are very limited. As I only want to have the characters I have listed involved in the RP, there is not much...wiggle-room.

So, if you are not chosen for a part, then I'm afraid you will not be participating in the RP. I wish I could think of a way to have everyone involved, and if anyone has any ideas how I could accomplish this, then I'm happy to hear them, but for now it just doesn't seem possible.

Well, I'm not sure if this is a solution to your problems but it's just a little thought. Nothing big but, after I read what Neverland was about, I was struck with this want to watch Peter Pan again; needless to say, I did. Mind you, this is the Disney cartoon version of Peter Pan.

Anyways, I was watching this and in the movie there were 6 Lost Boys:
Slightly (fox costume- who I signed up as), Cubby (bear costume), Nibs (rabbit costume), Tootles (skunk costume) and the Twins (raccoon costumes). I got the names off of this site. [Wikipedia sure can come in handy sometimes.] And then there's The Indian Chief- Tiger Lily's father, the Indian tribe, and the Mermaids. [Although, they only played a small part; they listened to Pan's stories.]

But going on, I'm thinking if either Blase or Dhampir aren't chosen, one of them can sign up as one of Lost Punks- ones from the movie that is. Albeit, I'm not sure how many people you're looking for. Just a suggestion ^_^.

Congratulations to all of you. I will start the RP proper either today or tomorrow, but I need a little time to get my head around things. Apologies to those who didn't get in, I wish I could accept you all, but it was tricky enough as it was.

Also, while I am here, I may as well post Hook's profile.

49

Sexuality:

Bisexual, but leaning more towards the homosexual side of things

Appearance:

Captain Hook, even though he is nearly 50, has taken advantage of the regenerating properties of Neverland, and as such he looks a lot younger than he truly is. His body is covered in tattoos similar to the picture, but his body is almost completely unscarred, apart from the most significant wound he has ever received, which was the removal of his left hand, which has been replaced with a sharp metal hook. He never divulges how this injury happened, but it is commonly known that it occured following his time in the Navy, but before the time Neverland opened.

There are also many different attachments he can replace the hook with, such as a corkscrew, a bottle opener, but also many, more weaponry-oriented attachments, such as his personal favourite, a long, sharp metal spike.

Personality:

Commanding respect wherever he goes, James Edward Hook is a proud, yet vicious man. He loves children, and yet, he hates them. He is a man of conflicting emotions, and moral issues. He does have a strong sense of what is right and wrong, and he knows what he is doing is wrong, but he feels, from somewhere deep down inside, that he must.

However, he is obsessed with his own physical appearance. He spends hours in the morning just tending to his own vanity, "making himself beautiful," as he calls it. His dressing table (yes, he has a dressing table) is covered in all kinds of moisturisers, blemish removers, and even make-up.

Biography:

James Edward Hook, the proprietor of Neverland Amusement Park, has always been somewhat secretive about himself. He has never let any details about his personal life slip. He keeps himself to himself, and that's always been his philosophy.

Most of what is known of him comes from his records, from school and college, and from the Navy. His school records show him as being a somewhat quiet, repressed child, never really talking to many people, or making many friends. He was bullied a lot, both at school and at home, apparently.

But, once he reached college, he became more confident. Strangely, though, this came at the same time as his father dying under mysterious circumstances. He gained more friends and spent less time with the councellor at college. He gradually became one of the crowd.

However, his reports in the Navy state that he suffered repeatedly from mental breakdowns during his time in the Forces, and was eventually dishonourably discharged for several unnamed offences.

Between the time he left the Navy at 25 and the time he opened Neverland at 45, no-one honestly knew where Hook had gone. He virtually disappeared, and apparently only his bank manager was ever contacted by him between these times, and that was only to withdraw a large amount of money from his personal bank account, presumably to fund the creation of Neverland.

Then, in 1978, Hook opened Neverland, and a few months later, the whole theme park disappeared, along with the first hundred children to enter its gates.

Vices:

His love for children is his greatest vice, although only slightly below that is his vanity. However, his love for children is a two-sided vice, because he also has a deep hatred of them, wishing that he could have their youth, as his was misspent.

Useful Items:

Hook carries on him, at all times, a gold compass, a buzz-baton, the same as all staff members at Neverland carry, and, of course, his Hook attachments. These come in a hard wood case, which he carries in a soft leather satchel.

Notes:

Hook's motive for opening Neverland is still unknown, although most write him off as a child molester. However, there is nothing in his psychological profile to suggest this.

So, remember, there are still a number of spots open for people to fill. Because of the addition of these extra character spots, I am extending the deadline to Wednesday June 28th, so get your sign-ups in.

All right, it looks good. Well take your time getting it initiated, for I am also very busy. Also, I still need to read through all of the other signups of those who got in, so I will understand the other characters of course. But you did notice that I made Tiger Lily male right? Is this okay?
Bah. Curses for taking so long on that bloody biography.

Good luck with the RPG ^_^
I'm sorry Muse. I feel really bad about getting in when you never got to finish.

And as cancer said, Blayze, take your time starting this up. It's better to take extra time planning than start too early.

Heh, I have to admit I was worried for a while before you posted the cast list. I'm not too knowledgeable about Peter Pan, but I'm never one to let a little thing like a lack of knowledge hold me back. Just out of curiosity Phil, how exactly is Neverland going to be set up and how are the Lost Punks going to be distributed ?

Well, Gavin, Neverland is divided into two clear halves. The west side belongs to the Lost Punks, the East to the Pirates.

The west side includes an extensive forest, an ocean of sorts (I will go into this deeper later), and the tree-houses. This is where the majority, if not all of the Lost Punks will be stationed.

The east side consists of Captain Hook's "ship," also known as the Neverland Head Office, where he plans his take-over of the Lost Punks' camp.

Oh, also, probably just a small point, but...

The RP is now up in the Square

Your instructions on what to post are in the thread itself, stick any questions or queries right here in this thread.

Hey Blayze. I'm not sure how the main treehouse is situated. Or if it is really set up in a certain way. I posted in the Arena already and if you think I should change the set up a little bit let me know.

And another question in regards to set-up... I assumed John, Wendy, and Michael started out at the Lost Punks' forest near the tree-house, since there are places in the park we have not been told about yet, and I assumed there had to be something special/sort of magical for them to not be able to walk out the way they just came in, hence my character feeling like he is dreaming. And I assumed that when you said go to our first meeting with Pete, you meant just seeing him and not a whole conversation yet. Please correct me if I am wrong on this so I can change it.

Is there anything specifically that Tiger Lily could do now that Wendy and the boys are already at the Treehouse? Just let me know, and I will post today or tomorrow. Thanks.

Well, as Tiger Lily, you have two options. The first is to write about what you were doing before the others arrived. The second is to write about what happened after they arrived. As for exactly what you were doing, that's entirely up to you.
