Jubei Yagyou
My favorites right now are The Fall of Troy and Dragonforce. Their lyrics speak to me and the guitar riffs are pretty frickin sweet.
Guest LilyBebeboo
PJ Harvey is my newest obsession. If you like chicks who rock it out, you must check her out!! She isnt new, but she is timeless.
2010DigitalBoy
Dragonforce - Is freaking AMAZING. These guys deliver pulse-pounding, rediculously fast insanity. The two guitarists are inhumanly fast, which I guess is why they called their latest album Inhuman Rampage. This band has the most extreme and increadibly long guitar solos I've ever heard. The drums are just tatatatatatatatatatata constantly moving. The bass is also great, and occasionally there are little ball-bashing bass solos. There is also a bit of background keyboarding and the like which fits in well. The lyrics are always about some sort of quest or folkish battle involving blades of power and such. The vocals are almost inspirational in their upliftingness and sung like.... well, think Eye of the Tiger. Altogether it's just a freaking brilliant combination. These guys are, in my opinion, the most badass thing to happen to music in a long time.
Jonesy251
I really like Ani DiFranco. I've been listening to her for quite some time and she keeps getting better and better.
kuroinuyoukai
Well at the moment I am listening to goth and industrial. I would say Psyclon Nine, Blut Engel and Fields of the Nephilim...

DragonForce is an incredible band, and while most of the Metal community complains about them getting too popular, there's no way around it: the guys can effing PLAY. Anyway, a band I've really been into lately is Eluveitie. They play an incredible mix of traditional Celtic folk music and very melodic Metal. Everything about this band rocks. Everything. I'm so addicted to their new album, Spirit, that I've listened to it at least once a day for the past two weeks. It's amazing. Other favorites of mine are: Ensiferum, Wintersun, Moonsorrow, Finntroll, Asmegin, Amon Amarth, Enslaved, Opeth, (old) Children of Bodom, Nevermore, and a few others that I probably just can't recall at the moment. Guest Kitsune~girl
Post your favorite rock bands here! :D (Self-explanitory) Say anything you want about them but NO FLAMING THE BANDS. You can say you hate a band but dont go any further than that. My fave rock bands are: Disturbed, Linkin Park, Tool, Nickelback, Pantera (R.I.P. Dimebag), Damage Plan, Atreyu, Buckcherry, Black Stone Cherry, Black Label Society, Rebel Meets Rebel ,Korn, and other rock bands like those. I HATE THE BAND NIRVANA!!!!! They suck! Sorry to all you Nirvana fans, but they do!
DeadSeraphim
You know what? I just put on Nirvana. Right then, because you said they suck. I'm not hearing the suck Kitsune. I'm hearing the amazing awesomosity, but the suck seems to be oddly absent from my listening experience. I suggest you reexamine your definition of suck, possibly using Linkin Park as a starting point. Rock isn't good at Linkin Park, and past that it gets no better. I totally dig Red Hot Chili Peppers and Wolfmother, with a lot of David Bowie thrown in for good measure. It's like covering four decades in one with those three, Chilis do the 80s and 90s, Wolfmother have that 70s sound covered and David Bowie is timeless, and thus can stand in for any decade he bloody well wants to. You don't question David Bowie, it's a sure fire way to find yourself in a world of pain.
Luck Cl
I dont really have an opinion on Nirvana but i dont think Linkin Park sucks. I actually like the band. I mean Linkin Park isnt metal or anything, but they do have rock in it. I also listen to Atreyu, Korn, System of a Down, and various other bands(maybe listen to a few of other bands' songs)
DaSilva
Well first of all, I would like to state that I cannot stand any of the bands mentioned mentioned by Kitsune~Girl. Including Nirvana. And David Bowie, although his music is great, I can't get over his hugeamundo mullet. Well now for the rock bands that I like: Louis XIV, The White Stripes, Captain Beefheart (ALL HAIL), Mardo, T-Rex, The Secret, The Rolling Stones, Convoy, The Von Bondies. Well, the majority of the stuff I like is either in the indie or the folk genre, so I will save that for a later date.

Boo
Say anything you want about them but NO FLAMING THE BANDS. [...] I HATE THE BAND NIRVANA!!!!! They suck!
The irony. *theatrical faint* My favourite rock band is probably Franz Ferdinand. Their music always makes me happy and their performances just beam their joy for making music off on the audience. Apart from them there are a few other 'newer' rock bands, like Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys and Live, that I like. But I've been raised with a lot of classic rock around me, thus developed a rather old taste of rock music. Queen for example has always been one of my favourites, and their song 'The Show Must Go On' is also the best song ever - just so you know. I've only been introduced to Pink Floyd for about a year or two, but they are also in my list of favourite (rock) bands. Partly, because they are/were just really original. And then you have Dire Straits, the band with one of the best guitarists in the world: Mark Knopfler. Their songs are extremely blimey. There would be other bands that I'd like to sum up, but people would think I am at least forty years old, which would make them even more cautious towards me.
sakurasuka
The irony. *theatrical faint*
Hah. I'd like to say I checked out Jack off Jill after I saw it mentioned here, and absolutely loved them. The screaming is a mix of scary and.. Cute. Hah. And of course, Sunny Day Real Estate. They're simply awesome. I'm also in love with Flyleaf at the moment. 'I'm Sorry' is amazing. It has worked itself up to the fourth song on my playlist. =D

Andy
Shame shame shame, I can't believe no one has mentioned Thousand Foot Krutch. This is a great rock band, and is my favorite at the moment. Some of my favorite songs by them are Phenomenon, Rawkfist, and Puppet. This band has great music and has a great beat to all they're songs. I definetly recommend this band for anybody who likes rock. Shwa
Would have to say The Format, their the first actual band I like because they dont scream like idiots or act like attention whores with their music. Their really mellow and have some really catchy tunes. I saw my first concert seeing them play in Maryland and they were awsome :catgirl: Some song I would advice people to listen to would have to be "The First Single" and "Tune Out" from their first album. Then "Dog Problems" and "Pick Me Up" from their second.
Guest mad hatter
my favorite band would have to be either AFI or Metallica. i listen to both bands like every day and i think daveys hott, who doesnt? lol i've been a strong Metallica fan since i was a wee tot. :catgirl:
Sho Ayori
My favourite band is , and has been for a long time, The Black Mages. And they have a brilliant vocalist known as Kazco. Ever since I found their two albums on the internet I've been hooked. They specialise in the remixing of various Final Fantasy songs, my favourite from their albums being 'Clash On The Big Bridge'. Billy Shears
Maps & Atlases. Oh. My. God. Here is some linkage to their MySpace. Holy god, they are amazing. The guitar is so spazzy and the drummer is wicked fast. The vocals are either love/hate, but to me, it compliments the music perfectly. Another one of my favorites is Frank Zappa. Everything the man has done is jeenyus. From his silly-yet-great songs like "Dont Eat that Yellow Snow" and "Tryin' to Grow a Chin" and all of the instrumental songs on Hot Rats, this man was one helluva geetar player and his band was top notch. Download "The Black Page" to hear the greatest drum solo ever by Terry Bozzio, or anyone for that matter. Amputechture, the new Mars Volta album, is so good. I just can't put it better terms. It's just so good.
