I love free web comics, they're absolutely wand-are-full. So i figured i'd start a super spiffy neato thread about 'em. Hopefully it won't be shot down before it even gets started. I just want it to be a general discussion of the ones you visit and whatev'.

VGcats.com - This is probably the first one i started visiting. It's so awesome. It's basically these cats that spoof off of a bunch of different video games. Any video game loving person will love these comics.

Whiteninjacomics.com - This comic is probably the funniest one of 'em all. But they're funny only if you get the humor....which is kinda dumb to say since the humor is so immature and childish. Just promise you give it a chance if you decide to copy and paste it into your browser. And to give it a chance you have to at least read 15 of 'em, it'll only take you 2 minutes.

Misfile.com - This one isn't really funny, but it is really great. Probably my favorite one of 'em all. This one has a new one every weekday which is great too. The story is one of a kind and i love it.

Butternutsquash.net - The art style in this is great, it's the main reason i like it. Unfortunately they miss updates often and keep delaying new comics, but for all the work they do on it i don't blame them. It is free after all.

Stuffsucks.com - This is the newest one i started visiting but i can already tell it'll be awesome.

DrMcNinja.com - This stuff is so funny and original, how can you not love it? It's about a doctor ninja!!! OMiGosh!!! Seriously, love it, molest it, have babies with it, you'll be glad you did.

That's about all i can think of for now, later.

Wow, I'll have to check those out. I do like VG Cats I know. You should check out Penny Arcade. It's a really really good webcomic site. I can't think of the URL's for the other ones I read, but I'll update later. Anyway, yea, I love free webcomics. They're a gem of the internet.

I used to read a lot, but now I just check up on Penny Arcade, Clone.Manga, MacHall, Ctrl+Alt+Del, and VG Cats. I mainly read PA, MacHall, and CAD just for laughs, while I like most of Dan?s story driven comics on Clone.Manga. Most of them are dark, and somewhat twisted. He also writes some funny comics, but still retain his twisted-ness, with jokes about incest, rape, pedophilia, and lesbian relationships.

Another web comic that relies on dark humor is Perry Bible Fellowship. They're basically your newspaper?s funny pages, but much more twisted. Other than that, I find most story driven comics, like MegaToyko, boring. They just can't keep my attention. I also find most sprite comics and such low brow, and most show no talent. Though, 8-Bit Theater out does almost all of them.

Achewood. This is the only webcomic I really take seriously anymore (well, ever since Jerkcity hit the seventh year or so and started to get boring... and no, I'm not going to link Jerkcity in polite company). There's a bit of a learning curve on it to understand, you know, where the jokes are, so it's a little bewildering at first. I'd suggest starting at the beginning ("Phillipe Is Standing On It") and just plowing through in a couple of days, although if you'd like a sense of the thing's humor first might I point you towards the Volvo of Despair arc (which starts here and continues here). Oh, and watch out for the alt text.

Reverend Fun, which I find completely hilarious for some reason.

Pokey the Penguin, which I find even more hilarious for some reason.

Then there's that old staple, Dinosaur Comics. Dinosaur Comics also has alt text.

And finally, god help us, the Leisuretown archives are back up. I don't have the words to describe Leisuretown, even though we've been dealing with it for ten years now.
Another web comic that relies on dark humor is Perry Bible Fellowship. They're basically your newspaper?s funny pages, but much more twisted.
The Perry Bible Fellowship is one of the few webcomics I actually look forward to reading rather than simply doing so out of habit. A lot of the comics are just wrong, but damned if they aren't funny. Also it's nice to see someone use dark humor in a webcomic with actual wit instead of just lazy blood and gore. Oddly enough, though, my favorite comic isn't even one of the darker ones... it's "QPI Interview." The premise behind it is just so ridiculous and it caught me completely off guard when I first read it lol. Another one I've been fond of lately is "Mimes," for basically the same reason.

I also love Sexy Losers... but, er, I probably shouldn't link to that, haha. If you're curious, then you can search for it yourself. A warning: There's a lot of dark sexual humor, and it can be really disturbing at times. It's a good comic to gauge how far your sense of humor is capable of going. :p

Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire is the only other webcomic I'm actually interested in reading. It can be a bit goofy and cheesy (though that's a big part of its charm, for me), but it's a lot of fun and the stories are pretty interesting, unlike certain other webcomics. Mookie is great with updating too - the guy is a machine lol. I don't know how he does it.

EDIT: Whoops, forgot about another one that Alan introduced me to recently - Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal. Most of the comics are either bizarre, incredibly mean-spirited, or both. It's hilarious.

Ahh, the joy of webcomics, how I love thee so. I don't read as many as I had once don but yeah, I enjoy reading them alot, it kind of feels like an escape from my life.

Megatokyo - What can I say? I think Megatokyo was one of the first webcomics that I have ever had the pleasure of reading. The art style is more or less like that of most Manga, Yet it could be the 1337ness, or even the giant rent-a-zilla, but I still adore this series. Even if all of the characters in a way do kinda look like females.

Applegeeks - I can still remember the reason that I became intrested in this series, it had to be the art, It Looks like it could have been an actually comic book. Besides, where else can I find a Mac powered android who has a personal vendetta against everything that isnt a Mac? Its just plain awesome.

Girly - This one is just in here for the plain amount of humor in it. All it basicly is, is a group of two people who go out on...adventures. Let them be facing off against Elephants that just about scream death and destruction to all around them. Or even against an evil captain fist, The series is just funny. [strike]Even if people get hit by giant dildos[/strike]

Vgcats - Well since it seems that most everyone else has posted their thoughs on this series, I am just going to say that the humor in this one is rather funny, even if its the only webcomic that I read that doesn't have a direct story.

Thats all for now, and there is more to come hopefully.

I love penny-arcade, which was already mentioned, those are super hilarious for anybody who knows anything about gamer culture xD

Some of my favourites are

Chugworth Academy - I'd say every member who is on the OB is mature enough to handle these. They do have some sexual jokes, but being a pervert is fun =3

A Softer World - they're really.. different. It's a team of a writer and a photographer, and some of the "comics" are really interesting because you have to think. They don't always have a really obvious punchline, but alot of them are still pretty funny. If not funny, thought provoking.

Married To The Sea - by a guy and his wife who take old looking pictures, and then add in little details, and captions. My old signature, the "shakespeare got to get paid, son" is by married to the sea =D

Toothpaste For Dinner - By the guy frmo married to the sea. random. weird. Drawings are absolutely uncomplicated and look like a small child drew them xD and yet they usually make me laugh. My sense of humour isn't exactly sophisticated =P

edit: thanks taperson, for reminding me that toothpaste for dinner is by the same guy who works on married to the sea with his wife ^_^;;

I also like The Perry Bible Fellowship. It's not necessarily the dark humor that I appreciate, but the varied art style (which ranges from simplistic to gorgeous) and the masterful use of facial expressions. Here's one of my favorites:

Well I read several, A few are the funny kind. VG cats, Penny arcade, and megatokyo (which is now going on a storyline rather than a joke a day kind of thing like the started out as) Friendly hostility, el goonish shive, and of course our very own ob member comic slacks in slacks ... if i got the name right (i keep calling it sinslacks because thats the name of the myspace account where i read it. *shrug*) And Count Your Sheep

But oddly enough I like the kinds like Inverloch, Earthsong, Dan and Mabs Furry Adventures (funny stupid and...furry) Zap, Zebra girl (though i lost track of that one long ago). Cat legend comics, Alien Dice, Akaelae, Campus Safari, Shive (Alien dice through Shive are done by the same person). I also read chasing the sunset and anti hero for hire but those two are barely updating lately for their own different reasons though i dont mind. As you can see i have several other web comics to keep me occupied.

That is about it at the moment but from time to time more get added to my web comics favorites list.
