How'd you become an Otaku member?

So, everyone, tell me your biography: How'd you stumble across the Otaku trifecta (TheOtaku, MyOtaku, and Otakuboards)? I think it'd be interesting to find out which site everyone started with.

As for me, I was a member of a forum back in 04. One person had a TheO quiz result in their signature (Which Anime Emoticon are You? if I recall), and I took the quiz and then several others. It was then that I realized how sweet TheO was. About a month later, I signed up for MyO under some random username I don't feel like disclosing, and I blogged on it every now and then, but I never really made a name for myself. Probably didn't even reach 200 hits. So I pretty much gave up MyO. About a year later, I had quit that aforementioned forum due to personal reasons, and I needed something to do on the computer. I found myself browsing TheO more and more until I decided I wanted to rejoin. I made a new username (this one) that was much more active and I made a lot more friends. I was hooked, and I'll be closing in on my one-year anniversary of this account soon. Then, one time, I stumbled on to OtakuBoards just to request a graphic be made for me, andI realized how cool and friendly it was here; it also reminded me of the forum I left behind, ad nostalgia. A few months later, I became an active poster. And they lived happily ever after.

Ah, back in like 2001 or 2002 I started out at www.theotaku.com and from there found myotaku. Within a month after I first went there I found a link to this site, and it didn't take long for me to realize that this was the best forum site I'd ever seen, and that still holds true to this day. So I joined back in 2002 or 2003 (hard to remember), and I can't even remember my first username on here, haha. I do know that I was once under the username Ares, if anyone remembers that. So yea, I've seen OB through a lot of stuff, and it's been interesting. Definitely a quality site.

My friend told me about the toaku site, but I found otaku boards when I was just trying out all of the things in the site. I joined about a year ago although I have liked anime since 1997 and manga since 2004.
I joined the site because I heard that it was a good site to visit. As soon as my friend told me about the otaku site, I joined but I just recently joined the forums about a month ago.
So, mostly finding the forums was just a thing that I found to do on the internet.

I started off with TheOtaku around late 2002.(?) I was probably looking for stuff about Yu Yu Hakusho or something. Well, I wandered around there for a few days before I realized there was a chat room. And back then, I was really big into the whole chat room scene. So, obviously I had to check it out. I ended up making some really good chat buddies on there, and was solid with it for a good few months before someone mentioned the OtakuBoards to me.

I figured, "Hell, why not?" and the rest is history. Ah, the good old days as Conna_da_fox. XD That's when I did all my lovely graphics work, too. Now this is just making me want Photoshop back. ;_;

I didn't know myO even existed in 2002. I could have sworn it was put into play around the time v7 was. O__o;

Anyway, it was November 2002 and around the time of my birthday. I was looking for infortmation on birthstones (particularly Topaz) when I stumbled across some DBZ fanart by an artist named Topaz. I was a fan of DBZ at the time so I clicked it.

From that point up until the installment of version 7 is a big blur. I remember joining OB in January '03 as Winged-Kid and making two new accounts (Roket and Scorpio) to get a different name (since I didnt't know the Administrators could change it for you).

I'm pretty sure that OtakuBoards looked similar to this when I joined. Although I'm positive that it was a tiny bit different (colour scheme was different, maybe?).

And that's my story.

I was spazzing around the internet in August of 2k1 looking for DragonBall Z pictures and stumbled upon the galleries at theotaku.com. I went to OtakuBoards out of curiosity and lurked around for a couple of months until finally joining on the fifth of October.

A grim day for all.

This was in April of 2004 and so I was still a little 13 going on 14 year old n00b. I was looking for stuff on InuYasha and stumbled upon The Otaku. I found some of the quizzes and thought "hey, this is pretty neat!" My next stop was the Otaku Boards. I signed up but posted maybe about 3 times because I had had some ridiculously bad luck on forums where I got blasted and ended up leaving because of really snobby users who had been around since the opening. I figured the OB would be the same so I decided that I wouldn't bother using my account since people would probably end up flaming me anyway ^_^;;

The next day I signed up for myOtaku, because I had never had a journal of any sorts before and thus began my blogging lifestyle. Sometimes I go back and look at the absolutely ridiculous things I posted about when I started.. they're good for a laugh XD I've had the same account since. I'm really glad I joined because I've met some of the sweetest, best friends that one could ever ask for.

Ah yes. Joining OB. Some of you may know a loverly, wonderful, insane child of whimsy going by Latharix_sama here on OB, who even in real life is called La-chan by her friends. She has tapered off in coming here, but her usual area is Adventure Square.

La-chan wanted her friends to join OtakuBoards. Only no one did. So when I got a computer for the first time in my life in February, she demanded that I join. Being the doormat dictator that I am, I did exactly what she said. Which was good, because I am in love with all that is OB. I even got a myO account because luffable Latharix told me to. And everyone has proven that they are the awesome. ;)

I found TheOtaku first. I was looking for anime wallpapers I think. I browsed around there for some time taking a quiz or two here and there. I didn't know what a forum was or board. So when I saw OtakuBoards up top I clicked it. I found it very nice and wanted to join. Make the user Cat14 which I still have as you all can see. After I joined OB I made a myOtaku account under the same name. And now have almost 900 views the last time I checked. Thats really all to my story on how I found the OB. OB was my first forum and so far no other forum is like it. I love it here.

I knew about this place long before I had the internet, thanks to a friend named Joel, known here as Zidane11. He was working on a DragonballZ-related website, and as he was showing me that, he also showed me his favorite site for info, which happened to be TheOtaku.com. I remember seeing the forums before they were "OtakuBoards," I don't remember them having a domain name either. It was theotaku.com/boards, if I remember correctly. Anyways, every time I'd go to Joel's house, we'd end up visiting this site and the awesome forums. When I finally got the internet, TheOtaku was the first site I visited, and OtakuBoards was the first thing I registered for. Then you know, I left after a few years, then I came back last summer.
My good friend, RiflesAtRecess, introduced me to this forum, although it would be far more accurate to say that he spammed me until I gave in and decided to join. What made me stay (to an extent...) is the excellent community. The RP section didn't hurt, either. :)
I stumbled across theOtaku while reading some reviews for a couple of anime shows I was considering getting. After lurking for many months I finally joined and started a myOtaku account. I wandered over to OB when I had a small problem with a wallpaper I had submitted and the professional manner in which I was helped by members really surprised me. So I kept coming back.

Well, I've just joined the forums today. *blushes and waves to everyone*

I've been a member of TheOtaku for a whlie now. Not doing much, just posting a small bit of art for no good reason and making silly little journal-y posts. (And, I think I found TheOtaku looking for some good wallpapers. I can't remember now, since it was last August.) But, I got kind of bored tonight and decided, HEY! Why not make an OtakuBoards account?

You all seem very nice here, and hopefully I'll get to know a few of you and have a good time here. (Though, I feel really overwhelmed. It seems like everyone is so closely-knit, I'm not sure if there'll be room for me to squeeze in! :p)

One of my best friends pestered me about myO for a while when I was in the seventh grade. I never really did anything with it because I don't like to be pestered. Eventually, I read some of her posts and became extremely interested in the journalish nature of myO, and I signed up at the aforementioned friends' house. I became faithful to it for at least a year, though the second year I spent way more time on Livejournal and hardly updated myO at all. I've kind of given up on it now, but I've suddenly been inspired to update it. I miss the old post box...

Oh, anyway, the same friend kept talking about a message board she went to, and I assumed she meant the OB (which she didn't). I came here and signed up (more than once, I might add, due to a horrible memory), but it wasn't until several months ago that I started coming here regularly.

Guest Heero yuy
The summer of Freshman year of highschool, I left Alaska to go down to Oregon, to visit my old home and see my friends.

One day I was browsing the net on my friends comp, looking for sites to put up my fanart. I was looking for something small, nice and simply...easy to figure out. Typed something into Google and a link to this site came up, I was interested in it, clicked the link and pretty much joined on 08/30/03.

I love myO and the people. Despite some bad incidents and events, but the pros outweighs the cons. ;)

Almost three years, and I still love it here.

Interesting, most interesting.

After SaiyanZRealm mysteriously closed down in 2001 I started looking for a new source of DBZ info, eventually that lead me to TheOtaku's Dragonball section and after a few weeks when it was taken offline for revamping and suggested members check out OtakuBoards to keep sane I had a look and eventually joined. That was September/October 2001 and I've been here ever since, stalking the Arena and occasionally allowing people to become my students.
A grim day for all.
Let's not even go there Ken. ;)

I joined long ago. September 2003 according to MyO. I used to spend literally hours a day between the two sites. I quickly made a very tight circle of most of whom I still chat with regularly today. I don't expand that circle too much anymore, I don't have the time to spend on the sites that I used to. I really like it on MyO. I became somewhat disenchanted with OB for a while, but I think I'll be making a few more rounds here than I have been lately.

Ah the day I found the relm that was known as Otaku, I can remember it almost as if it was yesterday.

I think atleast it was the late summer of last year when I was browsing about the net looking for some cool Naruto wallpapers. Since a good friend of mine had just recently taught me how to ...obtain an Anime version of the show, which my first reaction was. "OMG Look at the Color!"

So I think after a while I wound up going and using a google search for it. I think I found a link that took me to Theotaku after that and for some reason I can't remember, I just signed up for it. (Perhaps to submit wallpapers for some reason? I really don't know.)

So then there I was with my very own Myotaku and after sliding on through it I found that it had this nifty looking "Otakuboards Connect" Feature on it. So then I wondered. "Hmm what is this, Otakubaords that this feature speaks of?" So then I think I ventured to Otakuboards only to actually use that feature. Since I was still wary of going onto Forums at the time.

So then after a while of waiting I eventually ventured out of my fear and starting posting here on Otakuboards and I was never the same again.

Honestly, theres nothing really special about how i came here i guess. I saw this site on a search engine while i was looking for wallpapers. I did come exploring and made Theotaku.com my new source for anime related things. I read articles, looked at wallpapers and fan art and such for months before i actually joined up. Then one day i just decided "well i've been coming here for however long, might as well check out the boards". So i signed up hoping to find people with strong common interests as myself and hoped to have some interesting and intellegent conversations.

I've yet to make any real friends yet, but i suppose i'm still new. It's still a somewhat nice atmosphere compared to many other boards i've been too.

As for everything else, writing is my strong point so im starting to submit articles. So i'm pretty involved as it stands now.

If I remember correctly there was a thread on love and I thought I had to post there. So I made a profile and posted. For some reason I'm still here!

Thats all really since back then I wanted to reach out with the Gospel.
I don't mean converting people, I mean having it open to the public.

Yeah! Thats all really.
This is the only site that I have been on and had the Salvation prayer in my signiture.
I really wanted to reach out though.

i was on myspace, and there was a bulletin with a riddle and i wanted to know the answer so i googled it and it brought me here. so i read through the ENTIRE Riddle thread and i knew an answer, so i wanted to post it. SO I made profile, and here i am!
i don't like anime, so i really don't "belong" in any of the other forums... so i choose to stay here. kinda like a hermit!
