Farto the Magic
Alright, when I woke up this morning, my computer I found out that my computer had contracted tons of viruses and spent the next five hours fixing it and clearing them out. Needless to say, that sucked. Then I went to work and when I got back, I found my little brother using my laptop. The same one that I told him he could never use. The same one that I had spent hours cleaning and was still needed to be under careful observation. I threatened his life, chewed him out, threatened him again, then asked my parents if I could carry out my threat. He responded by telling me that I put all of the viruses on my computer and if the computer crashed, it was my fault. The only good thing to come of the whole situation is the blackmail items I found in his hotmail. In the end though, I was left wondering how his thought process works? Did he not remember me spending hours being frustrated at my computer and take that for permission to use it? Please, for the love of God, tell me if anyone else has this problem with siblings being annoying and/or stupid. If you are the annoying and/or stupid sibling, enlighten us please. Tell me I'm not alone...
nomad19
ahh!! siblings, it pays to be the eldest, really it does! my mom keeps bugging me to fix my little bro's computer, and so oftentimes I did, after a while it started getting repetitive. I'm like "what the!? how can your computer be infected weekly!?" it's loaded with spyware and viruses... a typical 12 year-old response brother:"that fart button ad, i pushed it" me: :" why? i told you never to click on the pop-up ads" brother: "you know you want to!, it dared me and i pushed it" me: "what the!?" :animeangr it doesn't stop there.... Fyxe
Oh, trust me. You aren't alone. My little brother... is very.... irritating. It takes a lot of control for me not to ball up my fists when thinking about him. It is very good for him that I live on the other side of the state. He messes with my stuff all of the time. Like, when I leave my belongings in a visible area, he rummages through it. You have no idea how many problems that causes me, because, generally, those things are personal. And his sticky eight-year-old fingers don't need to be on my things. Also, when I used to have my own room in my dad's apartment... he'd lock me out of it. And those doors were almost pure glass, so I could see everything he was doing while I was locked out. He'd take full advantage of that, of course. He'd prance around, mess with something of mine that was expensive, scratch my CDs and DVDs, rip my books, blow his nose on my blankets, drool on my pillows. Argh. And it doesn't help that he thinks he needs to be three inches away from my face every second of the day. Just... no. I think he would have been murdered in his sleep long ago if I had to live with him all the time. Lucky for my sanity that I only see him a few times a year, and lucky for his life that I don't have anger problems.
visualkei
i think some of it depends on the age difference of the siblings, and a lot of it really depends on the personalities. when my younger sibling who's about 5 years younger than me was going through the teenage stage 12-17... wow, i wanted to kill her all the time. i think the reason is because she was a teenager at the time whereas i'm already a teenager or stepping out of it, and seeing all the stupid things she does. when we were younger, me in middle school, she in elementary, we've gotten into fights, even physical ones with her. but you know what, she's never really fought back, probably because she knew she was at fault, or b/c she's smaller hahaha. later on as a teen i knew better than to hit her. when i was in college, she caused my parents a lot of grief. there were times when i had to nag and BEG her to think- THINK about her actions, for the sake of my parents blood pressure. and you know what? i've never really pissed my parents off the way she has. so my mom's always telling me i get to hit her if i think it's right or for her own good. lol both siblings being teenagers at once-- eek. but now that she's 18, and i'm 22 we get a long alright. we're even going to live and go to college together come fall. my mom even says that if she doesn't wash the dishes i could hit her. lol. but i won't. =]. though we have a 5 year age difference, we are sometimes mistaken for twins. She annoyed me so much then, but she's quite responsible now, and i've even heard her say she looks up to me. :animeswea my other sibling who's ten years younger than me, well we get along really well. this is because i cared for her since she was a baby. and im a lot older than her, and i get to watch her grow, and our ages don't really cause personality conflicts because i'm an adult. being in the same house, growing up together, and basically sharing everything and space, you will step over each other's "boundaries." you know, sometimes siblings really do make you want to strangle them. hopefully you guys will grow out of it, or your siblings will learn to respect your things. BlackTigerGurl
You are never alone when it comes to siblings. :animedepr I love my sisters to death, but sometimes I wish they would just disappear for the day. I hate being the oldest because a lot things befall on me. If one of my sisters do something stupid, I'm the one to blame. You see, I share a room with my 5 year old sister. I'm in high school and I know I shouldn't be sharing a room with her. I can't watch my TV shows with her in the room because she always has to watch her little kiddy shows. If I don't let her get her way, she'll go screaming to my mother who then tells me to let her watch her show. No matter how much I complain, I don't get my way. Then my 10 year old sister is always in my business while I'm on the computer. "Oh what's that? OR I want to do that?" Then when I'm gone to the bathroom or something she's all up on the computer trying to see what I'm doing! Um...what I am doing is none of her business and the contents are to great for her. Finally, my 12 year old sister is walking around here thinking she's better than me. She acts like miss wanna be diva or something. She's always trying to use my things or just mozes on in into my room. But one thing that really pushes my button is that when my sisters borrow something of mine they turn return it to me in the worst condition. Once, I let them borrow my Kingdom Hearts game and they lost it! OMFG!! :animeangr A few months after they lost it, they found it behind their dresser. They returned it to me and it was all scratched up. I'm surprised it still plays but it doesn't play 100%. It freezes here and there in the game. So frustrating. Yeah, siblings.....ugh. :animeangr :animesigh
Petie
You are nowhere near alone. The list of things my younger brother has broken, taken, given away, etc. is far too long to post here. I was never really able to figure out the thought process myself but I get the same reaction that you do - "I didn't do it!" And for the longest time, my parents bought it which meant I was out of luck. After quite a while (and many times being called selfish in not so pleasant terms), I was finally able to get my parents to see the light. From there, it was still a little while before I got to the point I'm at now though. Just because they now told him not to touch my stuff did not mean he listened. Finally, after many years, my brother has generally agreed to leave my stuff alone and I can go on using my things in one piece. So, my advice to you, Farto the Magic, is to just bear with it - it should eventually stop. That, and password protect your laptop ^_^
SunfallE
Actually it would be interesting to see if there was actually someone out there who had siblings who weren?t annoying/stupid, etc. Anyway, I?ve had a combination of both younger and older siblings who were a total pain in the butt. For the older it was a case of I?m older and if I want to use your stuff, too bad. And then the younger thinking they could get away with it by lying and telling my parents that I said they could. And arguing with my parents never solved anything, especially since my mom was the type to use my things on the basis that she was the adult and didn?t need permission! The good thing is eventually they grow up. Now that won?t guarantee that they won?t keep being a pain in the butt, however, often it means you no longer live together. Like the older brother I have who got married and lives in another state altogether. He?s still a pain in the butt and when he visits he will just start using my stuff and lie and say I said it was okay. So obviously growing up didn?t make him any smarter, I feel sorry for his kids. The younger ones actually went from getting into everything to actually sharing and asking first. So there is hope for some of them. But until that day comes, well I?d password protect your computer if possible. Something I do anyway, since a number of my relatives can and will get into my computer when they visit, and they are too rude to ask if it?s okay. Dagger
Actually it would be interesting to see if there was actually someone out there who had siblings who weren?t annoying/stupid, etc.
That would be me, heh. I'm the obnoxious one in the family; my sister (four years younger) is among the most mature & intelligent people that I have ever met. We get along quite well, because we know when to leave each other alone--I may push the envelope a little from time to time, but she's gotten good at ignoring me. We haven't fought since I was in elementary school. I guess you could say that we just understand each other really well. However, we're much too different to be close, emotionally speaking, despite that understanding. So that courteous distance between us could contribute to the fact that we don't get into arguments. ~Dagger~
Sojiro47
Hehe...I own a sword, it anyone wants to use it! I am the oldest of four kids, and it's a miracle I haven't turned my sword on them yet! The youngest is 2, and all he does in scream! The next is 5, and all she does is scream at the youngest for screaming! Then there is my sister who is 14, and screams because the other two are screaming! And then there's me with a spliting headache!
BlackTigerOFire
Yes, we all know what you mean. I have 3 sisters. One is older and thinks she knows everything. Everytime I'm trying to do something she's always telling me a better way to do it. It drives me crazy! :animeangr I then have a 5 year old that cries about everything. She's always coming up into my room and destorying so many of my things. I try to tell our mother about it and it is always the same thing: "She's young. She'll grow out of it." Ugh. I have a 10 year old sister who tries to do anything she can to get some attention even if it is negative attention. I will admit, however, that I can be the annoying one sometimes. I mean, every sibling is annoying in their own way.
PWNED
Oh well; I'm the middle child of 3 and have two sisters, two Teenage sisters that make it their buisness to give me grief. My younger sister who is now 14 used to pick fights with me all the time back when she was younger and dare me to hit her. If I put her in one bearhug she would go crying to our Mum. She now procedes to sign annoying themes all the time and get over emotional when she is proven wrong. My older sister is better, somewhat. We get along for most of the time but she is abit clumsy and is responsible for the majority of anything getting damaged or lost. She then proceeds to try and tell me that it itsn't her fault. e.g- I had my PS2 in my bag with a copy of Legend of Drunken Master on Cideo on top of it. She hooks my PS2 up to my Dads TV and I leave her alone for a couple of hours and she proceeds to lose Legend of Drunken Master. She still continues to proclaim her innocence a month after we found it. She is also pretty terrible with Technology, She needs help with pracically anything although it isn't nessecarily her fault. musical_kitten
Oh, goodness no. I never did like those families with perfect children - makes me think they're possesed. If you're reading this and are part of one of those families, I'm sorry if I offended you. I am the oldest of five total kids in my immediate family. (For those of you who must know I am one of 32 grandkids on my dad's side of the family.) My sister who is closest to my age is pretty ok, but my other sister, who is 11, lies like there is no tomorrow, and gets mad when we don't trust her or believe her, whether she is right or wrong. My little brother, currently age 6, is attracted to shiny things, particularly jewelry. The other day I was cleaning my room and found a little foot stool propped in front of my dresser, and all of my necklaces off of their special little hooks. (Believe it or not, my first thought was, 'Nice, kid, you're going to steal my junk when I'm not there and leave the evidence behind.') Then my littlest brother (4)... Let's just say we've nick-named him 'Ed-zilla'. Now, we've just built a new house and I get my own room and everything. my brothers have to share, but they're little and don't care since they're the only boys in the house, excluding my dad. But we also just finished it while I was entirely involved in our school's production of 'Les Miserables' (pit orchestra member BTW), so i was rarely at home, so I have reason to believe that at that time my siblings were spending more time in my room than I was. So no, none of us is alone in these matters.

Guest Mythology
i have a little brother and little sister and they both enjoy to blackmail me and its easy because i'm the kid that stays in trouble, skips school, fails classes, etc. and no matter how good i cover my tracks they still find something to blackmail me with. and sometimes i'll just be sitting in the room me and my brother share and he'll yell mom alex is hitting me and screm even louder stop your hurting me whats wrong with you or whats your problem do you enjoy doing this toi people and when i jump on him to shut him up my mom or other adult will jump in the room and start hitting me while my brother laughs at it. my sister just fights me fist to fist or hits me in my slep i dont ever try to hurt her i just poke her in the ribs and block her punches but if it looks like i'm winning then my brother might jump in and when i start beating them both my aunt jumps in and if i'm still winning my mom jumps in with a back scratcher or paddle anything blunt and it hurts like hell if i do say so myself. its tough being the oldest. musical_kitten
its tough being the oldest.
You've said it Mythology. It is tough. The other day I was trying to talk to my sister and we constantly end up fighting so I try not to fight back when she leans in my face and is all like "And I'm not listening cause you keep putting yourself down!" or something like that and turns around and walks away. Then to top it all off she goes and tells my mom so my mom comes and puts me back in this long talk about how I'm not perfect and someone will always be better than you and all this junk and I'm just like Quiet? Please? I wanna leave... So it is very hard to be the oldest. You never can get your two cents in.
The_Mix_Breed
This defintily a topic a can relate too. I have a 18 year old sister who loves yaoi more then I, shockingly enough, triplet little 5 year old brothers, and I have a twin sister. Seems my mom likes things in 1, 2, 3 order :animeswea Anyway, my little brother are a thiple threat, pun intened. They gang up on the girls and toture us. Josh will come in my room and claim to be hurt and he'll blame Ryan who'll also come in my room and denie anything. Then they pounce on me and my sister and hold us down while Alex sprays silly string in our hair! I totally understand sibling pain!
Momiji Love
Being the oldest= hardest job ever. I have a little sister, age 9 going on 16. But also acts like she is 3. She hangs out with my friends and I. It becomes so extreme that when my friend Katie calls she asks,"Is Mariah coming, too?" Its also gotten to a point where she follows me around while I am on the telephone to make sure she isn't missing out on anything. -shudder- And despite my generosity of letting her hang out with me for the past 6 years, she is a BIT. As in BADWORD In Training. She beats the crap out of me all the time. Like literal knock-down, drag-out fights over retarted things, like me not taking her to the pool or laughing at her for tripping over her own feet. She also goes through my things and ADMITS to it. Like yesterday, she wanted me to take her to the pool. And I said sure, if she would let me borrow her CD player for while I was tanning. "No.Sis. Use yours." "I don't know where mine is." "Its in your junk drawer. I know because I was in there looking for your GameBoy." "No its not. I'm sure of it." "YES IT IS!" "If you aren't going to borrow it to me, I'm not taking you." -INSERT TOTAL MELTDOWN- Screaming fit for an hour, involving her coming into the kitchen while I was cleaning, kicking me in the shin and telling me I am an idiot and that her CD player was dead. I told her to replace the batteries and she gave me the dirtiest look.
Gavin
Interesting, most interesting. Well it's a pretty well known fact that younger siblings make life hell for their older siblings, to people who are younger siblings, I'm sorry to say that your eldest brother/sister almost certainly considers/considered you the biggest pain in the *** of their entire life, but loves you no matter how downright infuriating you can be. I'm the eldest of three in my family with two and a bit years between all of us, now while my younger brother Dave and I get on fairly well most of the time, he can be a bit hyper and just annoy the hell out of me to the point where I'll lose my cool. My younger sister Sinead however, youngest in the family, vexes me 24/7 and takes some perverse pleasure in making me losing my temper, I mean seriously she will literally just do something to annoy me because she enjoys watching me go berserk. As her to do something in relation to housework, for instance, push back the chair she's got planted in front of the TV so I can hoover and I get a "**** Off" for my troubles. Now I know some of you might be thinking that because she?s fifteen she?s going through the whole teen angst thing, but she?s been like this since about age seven, so that?s either the earliest case of teenage angst ever recorded, or she?s just a brat full-stop. What is really weird, and I think all eldest siblings will agree with me here, is that despite whatever younger siblings do to us, we can?t help but feel somehow responsible and not hold it against them for too long. Maybe it?s that we?ve had the ?show your younger siblings responsibility? speech too often, maybe not, but we can?t help but try to look out for them. I love both my brother and sister very much, but sometimes, I really do not like them very much.
Cyriel
Hmm...well, I actually like my siblings ^_^;; I have two younger brothers, ages 16 and 13, and they are both so adorable and cute. I guess I'm blessed to have younger siblings that I love to hang out with and have fun together with. Yep, my two little bro's are probably two of my closest friends, although I'm sure that I annoy them sometimes ^_^. As for computer things, I am absolutely hopeless with anything connected to a computer, and so if I have problems I always get help from my brothers...because they actually know what they're doing; so it's always them checking on me to make sure that I'm actually taking care of my laptop. Of course when we were younger, like...kindergarten, we didn't all get along so well, but we only had a few bad fights. None of us ever liked arguing though, so we grew out of it by the time I reached elementary school. We grew up all playing together with all the neighbor kids, so maybe that's why we have such a close relationship to each other. Now I play the part of the older sister who acts like a little kids with them, squealing/hugging/embarrassing them to no end. I love it. :catgirl: If there is ever dissension amongst the ranks, the worst it ever comes to is a heated debate, and then going to the internet to see who's right; but most of the time we're all able to come to an agreement. Either that, or I pull rank. Mwa ha ha, I love being the oldest.
Being the oldest= hardest job ever.
It is also one of the best jobs ever.
Aaryanna
Well I can?t relate to the younger sibling syndrome, as I am the youngest. ^_^ Since I was an unexpected child by the time I got older my brothers and sisters were already adults who were in the process of moving on. However I?m sure I must have annoyed my older brother as he teased me all the time and still does when I see him. The thing I tend to do is borrow books to read and forget to ask. I always return them and that?s when I get in trouble as the person I borrowed them from usually gets on my case for forgetting to ask. >_< I?m sure it doesn?t help that my grandparents spoil me shamelessly whenever I visit. Something my brother points out on a regular basis. So my response is for him to get married and have kids so they can spoil his kids instead. :p As for my older sister, she and I get along fine, but then she?s older than my brother and therefore probably more mature. ^_^

Tekkaman
I had the extreme unplesure of being an only child. My mom worked double shifts to keep us alive, leaving me at the house alone beginning at age 7. I had to learn how to do things on my own, ya know?... And even though my only friend was 'Sonic the Hedgehog' on Sega Genesis (1990s) I never wanted to be around anyone, not even my mom. But in time, I learned to cope. I had no choice. My brother Darius came into the world when I was 13 and I thought to myself "Thank gawd, i'm not alone anymore!!!" But as he grew older, I wasn't able to cope with him constantly in my life. I love my brother, don't get me wrong, but it took time to 'get used to him' because all he did was make me mad by getting in my stuff and doing the oppisite of everything I told him to do. Now that i'm 21 and look back on it all, my only wish is that no one grows up by themselves. You can change your 'loner' attitude growing up (I had to. My friends wouldn't let me dwell to myself), but it's very hard, trust me. Because of my life, I consider myself to be 'mature beyond my years' while still being 'a kid at heart' :tasty:
