It would probably help to explain what an AMV is.
Then someone would be able to help you.
An AMV is an anime music video! Places like Youtube are full of them! But as for making them, I don't know either!

For starters? Abuse the hell out of Windows Movie Maker. If you've got an XP machine, you can find it in the start menu under Accessories. Basically it's a sequencer - probably you'll want to lay in a track of video (which you can edit together in MM pretty easily, although not in a very advanced way), then mute the volume on it and lay in some track of music that you like. It's pretty intuitive, although the program itself tends to be very very s-l-o-w. Just screw around with it for a few weeks experimenting here and there, and after you've got some chops going you'll be up for a serious AMV attempt.

Good luck! And if one day you get really serious about this and want to move beyond Movie Maker, I'm afraid I won't be much help. Professional video editing software is a little out of my realm...

I asked how to make an AMV, not what is an AMV. I know what youtube is but thanks though. My sight is grouper. For some reason, Youtube doesn't work for me.^^

Thanks and I am serious. I thought I should start out with making an AMV. I need help importing music. I don't know how to do that. ^^;;

Haha, nice.

One time i downloaded a chobits amv off of limewire by accident and ended up getting some funky music video with some explicit chobits scenes.....Yeah, so that turned me off of amvs for a while. Besides that i don't know anything about them.

I checked for the windows movie maker, fasterblah, but i couldn't find it. I do have xp. OH well....

Later.

I believe the explanation of what AMVs are was for his benefit, not yours.

There are step-by-step guides out there, although offhand I couldn't tell you where. Anime Music Videos (dot org) has a number of guides, although I'd hope that would have been the first place you looked, so perhaps it doesn't have what you want. Good luck.

theyre to small for these fourms but i made them for other mmorpg game fourms
heres how i made them
1. find a very short clip from a movie u like
2. take a snapshot of ever movement on the clip and resize it to whatever size u want it make all the frames the same size
3. get Artful GIF animator (the program i used) and put them on in order
4. save it heypresto your animated sig :D

Another tip that really helped me when I made one: Download a lot of AMVs from that site that Sara mentioned. Ones that are highly rated are best. They will give you ideas you need. You can also download a couple not so highly rated and compare the two, so you know what to do and what not to do with yours.

Windows Movie Maker on Windows XP cannot really give you all that is needed to make a top notch AMV, but it works for a beginner. I do not know what type of programs that you need, but it tells you if you look on the AMV making guides found here.

Also, before you start, you need to have an idea of the AMV's theme, song, and the things that will be included. Like, if you have a lot of a certain anime, use that instead of something you barely have. For instance, my friend let me borrow the entire Gravitation fan subbed series on about seven discs and I worked on that. From there, I listened to the song I used, Queen, "The Show Must Go On," everywhere I went and all the time. Make sure you know the song to the point of knowing every beat, every word, and every sound by heart. Also, watch that anime all the way through from beginning to end repeatedly.

If you can do that, you are well on your way to be a great AMV artist. Oh, before I forget. Make sure you maturely take any critism you may get, good or bad. Just upload it on the that AMV site and go from there. You can't expect to be as good as one who's been doing it for years. Now good luck, have fun, and private message me if you have any more questions.
