Has anyone here actually benifited from one of these advertisements? Any stories concerning them? Are they all fake? How can you tell which ones are real?

My brother actually went through one of these proceses and got himself a DS Lite, and my friend got an Xbox 360.

So, if anyone has anything interesting to say about these advertisements, go ahead and tell your story or how you feel about it. Oh, and be sure to check out my signature...

I presume they are all fake. If they aren't fake then they make you run around like a monkey doing mindless BS for some time before you get your "free" item.

Although I could be persuaded to do tons of mindless BS for a "free" 360. :p

Interesting, most interesting.

I recall seeing this site actually been advertised on eBay a few days ago, the guy there claimed it was legit but I'm honestly not so sure. I mean seriously what site can afford to give away all that stuff for free ? There's no way you could cover your costs through advertising alone, so there must be something dodgy about it. However like Ken, if someone were to drop an iPod Nano into my hand for a few referrals, I think I'd be more than willing.

you just won a bigmac! hehe the closest thing i ever won :animesmil

well i've always thought that those promos were scans or spyware installers, it's just not believable. giving away those systems for measly referrals it's mind-boggling. if they were acutally legit, they might be defective or something...it's just too good to be true...

They usually recoup their losses by selling your details to as many companies as they can. If you ever tried to win an iPod, and suddenly found yourself inundated with spam mail, that's the reason.

That, and they probably assume that very, very few people are actually going to get through the entire series of ads without giving up, so they're only giving away a few thousand dollars in merchandise, and they've got the ad clicks (and probably personal details) of the countless people that gave up as well as those who actually got through. So the advertising money in this situation will probably be a whole lot more than on a normal website.

The sad thing is, many people only sit in front of their computers and TVs, signing up for these free things of the internet and purchasing items from Infomercials.

And guess what? They actually get the stuff. Well, okay, it's not a surprise from Infomercials, because they rule. But still.

Just at the cost of spam mail and internet stalkers. Ah, the convenience of multiple e-mail addresses.

I personally enjoy the weird stuff you have to do to get the "insert expensive item here". Like, shoot five ducks and win "I.E.I.H." or tickle the fat dude! But then you usually have to fill out a form, so I just mess around with it and am done with it. I never believe those things, and I'm actually quite a gullible person.
