How Old Do You Think You Are?

I saw this on the megatokyo forums and thought it was kinda interesting.

Physical appearance aside, if you didn't know how old you are, how old would you think you were? As in... if you were an outside person.

I am about to turn 15 years old although many people think I'm older (I usually get 16-17) because I carry myself about in a somber/quiet demeanor. Personally I think the way I act can't be compared to any age group since often sobriety, maturity, and age have no correlation, but if I knew no better I'd think I was a very angsty college student given that I know so damn much about crap.

I'm 18 but many people have thought that I was about 20 when they first see me. If I wasn't aware of my age and I took a look at myself I'd think I was 19 or 20. I'm quite tall as well.

Since we are putting physical appearaces aside I would have to say when I was younger I felt as though I had an "old soul". I was much more mature than others my same age. When I was 16 I knew I met the man I was going to marry. I was already taking college classes at 17 all the while working full time and taking care of my high school obligations. I would have to say back then I felt more like I was 25 years old.

Now that I am older I feel I am not as old as I am. My soul is still a young 25 years old. I don't feel old/mature/responsible enough to have children. I still like anime/manga/cosplay when my friends have "outgrown" this hobby. I guess you can say I am still waiting to become a grown up. I still feel like I should be in college.

To sum up: Currently I feel I am 25 years old.

Now if we were to take physical appearance into consideration I would say I feel like I am 73 years old. I kind of feel like a stereotypical grandma. I am short, very squishy ( I'm overweight), positive attitude (always happy to see you), blind as a bat without my glasses and very arthritic. "Is it time for my medicine?" The only thing I am missing is the white hair, dentures, hearing aid and a fresh batch of homemade cookies!

I'm sixteen, but people have mistaken me for older. I guess it's because I supposedly sound a lot like my mother when I'm on the phone. xD Though I don't see how, I've heard myself "echoed" in voice chats, and I sound nothing like her...

That, and back when I was ten, people would think I'm sixteen. O-o

I guess I consider myself to feel 21. I use big words. P= XD Words most of my friends have never heard of...

Since I was about 13, people have always thought that I was around the 17-18 range. I have already outgrown the "My Parents SUCK" phase, the "I'm emo and I am going to cut myself then show all of my friends to get attention" phase, and even the "clique" phase, most of which people my age are still stuck in. A pity that my parents are so strict and wont let me talk to anyone older then me...

Well, I am 16, but when people observe me, they think 13 or 14, just because I mess around alot! But if I become serious, I'm more like an 17 or 18 year old! But really, I'm just a 16 year old kid with a very active imagination and sence of humor!

People usually mistake me for 19/20. I have a very mature physical appearance and apparently carry myself in a mature manner. I've been approached while out shopping by people, offering me things that University Students would usually be offered. It's a little daunting.

I'm only 16, but I'm happy with people thinking I'm older. I get on really well with adults and don't shut myself out from them, which is probably why lots of adults think I'm much older. I imagine it's because I have a confidence about me that's very obvious, and I don't have a problem with talking to some random person on the street. [/SIZE]

[size=1]I get 13 alot as far as physical age is concerned. But if we're talking strictly demeanor, I'd have to say about 16. I certainly act mature and responsible, but I also love acting up, having a good time, and enjoying cheap, immature thrills.

I can also be an emotional downer (read: suppression), so I'll go with my current age.

And is it just me, or do all girls between ages 14 to about 20 look approximately the same?[/size]

Well, I am 15 years old and am going to be a Junior in High School, whereas most Juniors are 16 or even 17 (as my 2 best friends are). However, I think I act like a 17-year old. I didn't go to Kindergarten, so when I was little, all of my friends were older. Plus, I grew up in the church, basically, and I learned my morals well. Therefore, I dressed modestly - for the most part - and I know when enough is enough, behavior-wise.
I'm not trying to sound full of myself, but I am more mature than my 17-year old best friend (she admits it), and physically, I think I look 16 or 17 as well.

I'm a little confused at to why it's necessary to say something like that when people are just answering a question. =/ I find it a little insulting that you say I'm 'full of myself' just because I said that people think I act a few years older than I really am.

I've been mistaken for a senior by my professors, I find it quite amusing.

a few of my peers have mistaken me for a junior. [yay hormones!]

I'm usually portaried as the average, essentric punk rocker, who is really a physist trapped in the wrong body.

I'm not into the soical classes things and emo stuff.

I fight for what I belive in.

my friends tell me I run on bravado, when needed. and it works.

so in the end, it sounds like I've gone through my teen years.

I think I'm 21.

Because the entire reason I use the internet is to allow my personality to be shown. In real life I am too shy to be myself.

Also, because this is OB. i honestly don't care what people think about me on here since this place is so... unfriendly, but if you become my friends like some other Otaku, you may see a different side of me ^_^

I am eternally about 11 or 12. And I know that sounds silly. But I am a little girl at heart.(I've been told it is just my young soul, though.)

I love to go to parks just for the thrill of swinging, running and rolling in the grass. I will play games with my little sister(age 9) and her friends, and sometimes get more into them than they do.
I cry easily. Even stupid things set me off, like not getting a phone call or my sister stepping on an ant hill. But I also cry when I am angry.
I also feel excluded easily. I crave attention, and I am always trying to think up new things to get the spotlight back on me.

Sometimes I am viewed as older, usually when I am around new people. I am very shy and quiet, and I bring a book everywhere. I was reading [I]A Tree Grows In Brooklyn[/I] in a park when I was 13 and a woman came up to me and asked me what class it was for. (I was assuming she meant highschool) I told her I was reading it for fun, and she got a look on her face like she didn't really believe me.

I wouldn't go so far as to think I act older than my age. After all, I'd really have to know how others my age act when they're alone to have an even perspective, and I'd be willing to bet that even the ****-starting jerk that nobody in the gym class likes (he exists in every high school in the world, I guarantee it) has his somber moments.

I have a very childish demeanor about me, I'd say. I'm nearly 16. I look 14. How I act depends upon where I am.

At work, I'm forced to behave myself. In those instances, I've been mistaken for 17-19 by the majority.

When I'm with my little brother or my only friend, I generally get asked if I'd like a kid's menu.

I don't know. I don't talk often in public, I hardly even talk around my house unless it's with my sister or mom. Or if someone brings up manlove at supper, I cooperate in that conversation, most definitely. My step brothers think I'm very abnormal, because all they hear me talk about it manlove and lesbians. Haha.

Okay, more back on topic... when people see me and the way I carry myself, or the way I talk... they probably think I'm about thirteen or younger. I kind of carry myself in... a frightened manner, as some people have told me. And I always have my hand to my face, usually covering my mouth. Especially if I have a baggy hoodie on and then my hands are covered, too. And since I'm always carried around and hugged, that lets off a childish aura, I suppose.
Yet, when I actually get into a conversation with someone, people tell me I'm really smart and all that. They say my opinions are so strong and intellectual considering I'm fourteen. Same thing with my writing, people on FanFiction.net and that jazz think I'm at least seventeen. O.o

I prefer hugs, though. I don't care if people think I'm smart or not. XD
But, I have to admit, I do get annoyed with the pure idiocy that tumbles out of the mouths of people in my grade. Why can't these people get educated? :P[/color][/size]
