AnimeHeroX
This is the 1st law of Alchemy we all know what happens to Edward and Al The question I pose to all if you if someone you loved was dead would you make the same sacrifice as they did but this time you could it right and bring the person back correclty but you still lose your parts. would you? and let me also state this their is no Philosopher stone to bring you body back. would you still perform the Alchemy? do you also beleive that when you lost something in Alchemy something greater is gained? or have you just lost everything vaulable to you? KungFuChan
I wouldn't... i couldn't live without my arm or leg... or body even... but seriously.. i believe that everyone has there life time... whether it be short or long.. once it has been lived that is it..
bring the person back correclty
do you imply that they are the way they were before they died?...so if you were to bring them back they gain the memories, the feelings and the various other Life associated attributes... do we get to choose what body parts we lose? :p
AnimeHeroX
I'm not sure they never really explained everything about how it worked in Fullmetal Alchemist. but i pretty sure you wouldn't get to choose the parts you lose. and what i mean by correctly i guess the way they were before they died. Kre
Think about this. It took Al's WHOLE body AND Ed's arm if you tried you dbe totally sucked up into the void so my answer is no.
Sangome
Put simply - no. I wouldn't want to take the risk for brining someone back. Not to mention, in the cases of some of the people who tried to bring loved ones, all they get is a fugly lump of flesh and bones making obscure noises at them. ((I love that line)) So, no. I wouldn't want to do it, since odds are it would be for naught.
Aaryanna
No I would not, think of the chaos such an ability would create, people would be bringing the dead back all the time. Even if I could choose which body part I would lose I still would say no. It?s just not worth it, or the complications that would eventually occur. I mean, what if they died again? What part would you sacrifice next? It could lead to a paradox of destroying humanity as sacrificing parts to keep bringing people back would result in us no longer being full human beings. Sojiro47
I would reconize that I don't have either the ability or want to bring them back! I believe that if their dead, they're in Purgitory, Nirivana, Heaven, what ever you believe! To bring them back to a place where pain is still present would be a curse!!! As for the ability, I'm not an Alchemist. But if I were, my choice is clearly stated above!
lostsoul612
To your first question, if someone i loved died and i was able to bring them back yeah i would even if i had to lose some of my body parts, to get you gotta give, but would they have a soul and also would they be happy to come back to life? Yes i do believe when you give something you also gain wheather its greater depends.Eqiuvalent exchange is one of the quotes i live by, before i even heard of FMA. FoxRider590
No I guess I probley wouldn't bring back a love one bc that was there time and one of my friends is in the army and he says if he dies that means his time was up and that is the way of life some people live long lives and others are short just like KungFuChan said. AzureWolf
It's a trick question everyone. See, you have to think outside the box! What I would do is look for one of the many plotholes existent in FMA, and from there find a way to bring the person back (provided they died before their time - if that's possible) without losing a penny, nevermind a body part. No. As much as death hurts, on some level I don?t think it?s right to cheat it. Do I believe losing something in Alchemy results in something greater being gained? Absolutely not. For one thing, even though this question is hypothetical, it?s still not based in fact. Alchemy does not exist as portrayed in the anime show. And if it did, I still do not think losing something like your legs or other parts means that what you gained is greater, even if it is someone?s life. By being allowed to cheat death, on some level you make life meaningless. If you can simply bring someone back, the fact that they may die becomes irrelevant. Raina
My answer would be no. Seriously, would your loved one want to caome back? Especially at the cost of losing your body part? If I died, I wouldn't want come back. It doesn't matter if I want to see that person again, but I wouldn't want to see that person missing a body part. Every time I look at that person, I would be reminded of the sacrifice and the pain. That is something I would not be able to bear. However, if this world with alchemy had cyber-technology like in Ghost in The Shell, where the taken body part could be replaced, I would think about it. On the other hand, a prostetic body part would be expencive...

First of all, to bring back people from the dead could be risky. They might not be exactly what they used to be whether emotianaly or physicaly. I would probably protect the person with my life, but then I might not be willing to give it all up for somthing that might not happen.
Mythologicly
i woud do it even though there are a few people that important to me its worth the risk and besides mechanical body parts are cool as long as i dont lose my my male parts.
