Okay, so I was searching through some old books I had and I came across this series called Broken Sky by Chris Wooding and I actually think it would be perfect for and RPG, but since I'm not the newest member of OB and I'm not the best RP maker, I need your input. I'm still questioning the story line that I would go with, but I don't want it to be anything similar to the original story. (No main characters and such) Since this isn't really a common series, I'll just explain a bit about he world -- worlds. And then I'll leave it up to you to decide if it would be good. Also, if you've read the series, (I've only read the first 4) or if you just have a good idea for a plot, then please help me out. Here's a link to some info on the series not everything is included in there, so I added my own stuff.

As far as I'm concerned, there are three races:
1)The dominion people of The Dominions. They are usually caucasian, and have spirit stones. They live in a world much like ours.
2)The Kirins of Kirin Taq. They are usually very dark or grey. This is because they live in a world with a non-moving, permanantly eclipsed sun. Having a spirit stone is forbidden, but that won't stop the kirins in my story.
3)The Resonants. They are able to cross between the world of the Dominions and Kirin Taq, so you could imagine their importance. Even though they are resonants, There are still Shirin Taq Resonants and Dominion Resonants. Resonants can't have stones. It could kill them if they had one.

There is also the deliverers and the many monster races, but they don't really play an important enough roll for them to be considered as a character for the RPG.

Now, you must be thinking, what the heck is a spirit stone. Well, in the world of Broken Sky, a spirit stone is a stone that is implanted by the diliverer into a baby's back just after their birth. The stones are originally colorless, and the diliverers somehow sees what that baby's gift is and changes the stone. He then puts the stone into the child's back. They are slightly exposed. Some people don't have them because getting a stone is very expinsive. The most you can have is 6, and the more you have, the more power and control you have over the element. Anyway, here they are. This is most of them. I know there are more, but I don't know them all. I was thinking that if anyone wanted they could create their own power and the color of the stone.

Red-Amber: This gives the user the power of earth. They can create and control poweful golems, move rock, sand, and clay, sense vibrations in the ground, and create flowers and such.

Sky Blue: This give the user the power of air. They can use it to shoot powerful concussive blasts and use it for shields, etc.

Black: It is guessed that this stone gives the user the power of metal. A technopath, if you will.

Dark Green These people are the pilots. They are the only ones able to drive any type of vehicles, So you can see their importance, and there aren't many pilots at all, so they're in high demand usually.

Silver Animal Empathy... Basically it's communication between the user and a close animal. One of the characters from the series is able to see through his dog's eyes and vice versa

Red & White Healers. Healers are able to relieve pain by taking it into themselves. They can also heal themselves.

Milky White Psychometry

There are more, but I can't go into details for lack of time. There are more listed on that link above, but I'm sure that's still not all of them.

There are also many other items and races/animals/monsters, but you'll have to read that link up at the top to see. There was one animal that wasn't mentioned and thats the wyverns. They are dragon-like creatures which are controlled by pressing the muscles on the back of their neck. They are ridden by anyone who can't drive using the pilot stone. Once someone acchieves a certain age they are mentally bonded with a wyvern. This helps in battles so you don't have to press the pressure points on its neck; you can just communicate with it. I think that humans are bonded to wyverns with trigger stones which you can read about on that link.

Sorry if this doesn't make much sense. Like I said, I'm not sure about how it would work out. Generally, the books are intended for younger audiences, but in the RP it would be M[VLS] the whole works. I need input, I hope some people would be interested. :animesmil
