What are your favourite movies of the year thus far? Maybe it's not neccessarily the best directed or maybe it doesn't have the best acting, but it's still a movie you'd watch over and over again with some friends.

Now, if you'd asked me a week ago, I would have told you Pirates of the Carribean 2. It was a magical adventure with awesome special effects and a loveable preformance by Sparrow.

However, my opinion has now changed to... Clerks II. It frekin ruled. Dante and Randal were back - in colour this time! It was just as raunchy as the original (A major plot point involved
a man ****ing a donkey
), and even more hilarious. The New and Improved Jay and Silent Bob were there, of course, and just as hilarious as ever - especially Kevin Smith, the guy can out act most actors without any dialoge!

Defining Moment: The defining moment, for me, came really early.
With Dante leaving, Randal suggestest he vandalise the Mooby he works at by spraypainting EAT *****! on the side of it. When they get there, Randal has already spray painted EAT *****!. Than, Jay and Silent Bob are hanging out in front of it, and Emma walks up: Jay *Upon Emma seeing the grafiti and scoffing*: Oh, we totally do.
It was just so well delivered. Also, the shirt Jay wears during most of it is hilarious -
it's a picture of Buddy Christ, and it says Got Christ?
Priceless!

I would still say Pirates of the Carribean 2. I wasn't a big fan of Clerks 1.

That movie rocked my socks off. I enjoyed the first movie immensley and was waiting with anticipation for the sequel to hit the theatres. Johnny Depp may be one of the most entertaining personalities in modern cinema, his performance as Jack Sparrow makes the Pirates franchise what it is, In fact, the dialogue as a whole, witty and quick-paced as it is, makes for a rather enjoyable film.

I can't wait for the third movie, and there better be one or so help me. Arrgh.

V for Vendetta, in my opinion, has to be one of my favourite movies EVER, let alone of the year. I absolutely loved it. Natalie Portman did a great job, as usual, and I totally fell in love with Hugo Weaving. I just found the entire story very interesting, and it was very entertaining. One of the few movies I'd consider buying.

Oh, How could I forget V? I was absolutely thrilled with that movie, right from when I saw the first trailer and got the eerie Orwellian 1984 vibe. The movie was great but the trailer was way better. :p

I'm always ridiculously behind on current cinema, so all I've seen from the current year is The Da Vinci Code and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (as I should have expected, A Scanner Darkly wasn't showing anywhere near where I live :(). Of the two, Dead Man's Chest is by far the better film. Great battles, good characterization (Elizabeth and Will didn't annoy me, yay), it's funny as hell, and it didn't drag on much at all (not for me, anyway lol).

Ask me again a year from now, and I might be able to give you a better answer. Or, better yet, ask about 2005 and 2004. :p

I have as of now seen Miami Vice, the Da Vinci Code, Superman, X-Men 3 and V For Vendetta.

It is a toss up between Miami Vice and Superman, because the Da Vinci Code was horrible and totally unrealistic and farfetched. While I highly enjoyed V For Vendetta and X-Men, the Superman movie completely towered over V and X-men for awesomeness and Miami Vice had a very interesting plot line.

I have yet to see Clerks II, which no doubt will rank in at first place, I will be seeing it Sunday, and as far as Pirates of the Carribean, I do not even want to talk about that piece of... well you get the idea. I think the Ask a Ninja review about PoC describes that movie the best.
