Kitty
Ayame watched as Sakura walked away, probably off to find Kyosuke. Carrot and the others stared at her with concerned looks, but were surprised when she smiled and sat up. Carrot tried to insist that she stay in bed, but she got up anyway. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised, huh? Can't believe I haven't noticed she's just as jealous of me as I am of her." The others were silent. "Guess I'll let the two of them be." "What are you talking about?" Carrot finally blurted out, tired of no one else saying anything. Havok rolled his eyes and Rinoa jabbed him gently in the side. "Hehe," Ayame giggled in response. "Well, I'm going for a walk. You can tell Nurse Mallon whatever you want, but I'm not coming back to the infirmary. It's far too depressing here." With that, she walked out of the infirmary, Daiya floating behind her. The two wandered around the school in silence for quite a while. She was sure they had circled some areas several times before finally stopping by a bench in front of the dorm wing. Her feet were tired from walking for so long, and she sat down, Daiya floating up beside her. "Are you sad, Ayame?" he asked suddenly. "Why do you ask?" she replied calmly, though she wasn't particularly happy that he had asked. "Well.. I've never heard you so serious. It must have something to do with your trial, right?" Daiya suggested. "How can something I don't remember make me serious?" she asked in a somewhat angry tone. This uncharacteristic behavior of hers unnerved her furry companion, but he wasn't going to stop pestering her until she admitted what it was that was bothering her. "Well if it's not that, then what is it?" "Daiya... Today was the first time I ever called Kyosuke by his nickname." "And? That's it?" he asked, somewhat surprised that such a simple thing could be the problem. But she shook her head, smiling slightly. "I did it on accident. I was just so relieved to see him alive that it kind of slipped out. I'd never call him by his nickname normally because, the truth is... I'm not close enough to him. I don't have the right to." "Ayame, you're being silly. You are too close to--" "But not the way I wanted!" she blurted out, tears forming at the edges of her eyes. Daiya paused, not sure of what to say next. He had known her since she was just a child, and had always been protective of her. She never minded, and until this year, he had very rarely left her side. But for the past few months, he had backed off, and as a result, she had developed bonds with a select few stronger than with any other person before. He wondered if it was such a good thing, seeing her sorry state at the moment. "Ayame..." "Do you hear that?" she interrupted. "Hm? Hear what?" he asked, having not been paying attention to anything else. "It's nice..." she giggled, though there was still a few tears slipping down her cheeks. She stood up suddenly and rushed towards the stairs, Daiya chasing after her, still confused. His sense of hearing was much better than hers, and he still didn't hear anything. They climbed a few flights of stairs before she exited the stairwell and headed towards the source of the music. By now, Daiya could hear it, but wasn't sure why he hadn't before. "Stephen, you play the flute?" "Eh?" he asked, slightly startled by Ayame's statement. He looked over and saw her and, once realizing who it was, motioned for her to come in. "Yeah, but... I guess I should've closed the door. I don't really like audiences." "But you play really well, y'know," she smiled meekly. He grinned, happy that someone liked how he played, and even more pleased that she sounded to be sincere. Ayame had taken a seat on the couch and watched as he got off his bed and put away his flute. When he finished, he walked over and noticed she looked unnerved, and generally upset, some tear stains still marking her cheeks. "You don't look so good. I heard your trial didn't go all that great," he said sympathetically. "No, not particularly," she mumbled, rubbing her eye. He laughed quietly before holding out his hand. "C'mon. You look like you could use something to eat." She looked up at him, then to his hand, but did not move. He paused for a moment before asking her if she was okay. She shook her head, finally putting her hand in his, and he pulled her up. Finally on her feet, she stared at him for a moment before throwing her arms around his neck and crying into his shoulder. He was thrown off for a moment before realizing he should pat her back to calm her down. "Guess she wasn't okay," he chuckled to Daiya, who only eyed him curiously in response. He shook off the chilly feeling he got and resumed trying to calm Ayame's crying.
--- OOC: There. I posted, AND I included Stephen. TheResplendent
Kyosuke barely made it out the door, but he was determined to get to his dorm room to atleast change back into his school uniform. It took 5 minutes for him to get there, but he did make it. Kyo tossed off the infirmary's robe and started to change into his uniform. He was relieved that he chose not to wear the normal uniform to his trial. He sat down on his bed and hunched over still in a good amount of pain. He started to regret leaving as early as he did but he needed to be prepared as early as possible for the final. In Kyosuke's mind, that involved getting his team on the same page as quick as possible and clearing is mind rather than heal his body. "Ugh...you would think with magic there would be no pain either..." Kyosuke mumbled to himself as he stood up. He walked over to the door but before he could open it back up, the door swung open and Sakura and Kyosuke were just able to avoid a near collision. "Oh! Um...hiya...i figured you might have come here first." Sakura said, feeling a bit embarrased that she almost ran into him. "Sakura? You shouldn't be up, hows your arm?" Kyosuke asked, obviously concerned. "Ha, your one to talk. I got clearence from Nurse Mallon to leave, you on the other hand need more rest. But, i know your not going to listen so I figured i'd come and at least give you this" Sakura said, handing something to Kyosuke. Kyo took it from her hand and looked at it, it was a vial of ointment that she took from the infirmary to numb the pain of open wounds. "Wow, this will really help actually...i wonder why Nurse Mallon held out on me." "Well...it's really best if you let it fully heal instead of fooling yourself about it...but like I said...you're not gonna listen to me" Sakura replied with a smile on her face. Kyosuke wasted no time figuring the ointment would make it bearable to atleast walk. Kyo flung his jacket off and pulled his shirt off revealing a very well toned body. Sakura widened her eyes a bit suprised at the shape Kyosuke was in. She knew that he had to be in good shape with all the working out and training involved in becoming a risk breaker, but it was rather deceptive from the way he looked with clothes on. But then again, the male school uniforms weren't really designed to hug the body. Kyosuke's wound looked almost completely healed, that was thanks to the magic. The pain on the other hand still pretty much had to be handled with medicine. He applied the ointment as Sakura couldn't help but stare at him, enjoying the sight. She felt kind of embarrased but wanted to avoid making a scene by turning around or closing her eyes...not to mention she didn't want to. She tried to control her body as best as she could but she was clearly turned on. It was nice even with the wound.'Oh man...does he have to do this now? and we're alone in his room....ack! What am I thinking?' she thought to herself as she snapped out of it and looked up only to be startled by Kyosuke who was finished applying and looking down at her rosey red cheeks. "Ah! Hi! Is...something wrong?" Sakura asked hastily, as her cheeks got redder. "No...you just look a little worried...is everything ok?" Kyosuke said, putting his shirt back on. Sakura shook her head wildly trying to dispell any misunderstandings Kyo had about her. Kyo put his jacket back on and suddenly took notice to the floor near the doorway, behind Sakura's feet. "Hm? What's this." Kyosuke said, walking over and picking it up. He opened the white envelope and noticed the stationary from Headmaster Enteri's office. He figured it must have fell out of his room's mailbox, and read everything carefully figuring it might be something important. "Oh...i didn't even see that. What is it?" Sakura asked, adjusting her skirt. "A letter from Headmaster Enteri...It looks like anything else will have to wait. I've been summoned to his office." Kyosuke said in a low tone, his eyes focused on the letter. "Summoned? It must be really important...you didn't do anything wrong did ya?" Sakura said in a joking tone. "Hehe, no...nothing like that. I have to take care of this though..." "Oh! I'll come too...." "I should go alone...sorry. I'll probably stop by the infirmary afterwards though...I need to get official clearence from Nurse Mallon to be up and about anyway...she probably already knows that i didn't go to the bathroom." Kyosuke said, cutting Sakura off. Sakura frowned a bit but quickly changed her expression to she didn't give off any vibes. "Ok..." she said softly. "Oh...if you see Aaron...tell him that I want to speak with him. ok?" Kyosuke told Sakura, as he walked out of his room toward the elevator. Sakura went to respond but he was already gone. She always seemed to end up watching him leave her. She wondered why Kyosuke was so secretive about the letter though, what was it about? Why did he want to go alone? She sat down on his bed and layed on his pillow as she drifted into thought.
Tekkaman
As Aaron walked Ariyanna to her dorm room... Arron walked with Ariyanna as they talked about all of their likes and dislikes concering life, guys, girls, and what not. They had made it back from their date, which was spent at the lunch room followed by a walk around the Academy park. As Aaron was passing a nearby elevator, walking Ariyanna home, the elevator light above became illuminated. The light signaled that the elevator was coming down. Ariyanna, completely estatic from a wonderful (if underrated) date, pulled Arron near the illuminated light under the elevator - her lips doing the talking from then on. "Let's pretend that this light is a mistletoe." "Huh?" Aaron said - more dazed from her beauty than from the question. "Kiss me..." Ariyanna said, her right arm wrapped around the back of his neck. "...Right now. Just let go of yourself and kiss me." Arron smiled, thinking of how beautiful she was and how much they had in common. She even knew when he didn't feel like talking at a certain moment - though she wasn't beaming with happiness when he did turn mute. Clearly, there was a spark between the both of them, though Ariyanna was trying to make the spark very evident by turning it into a nuclear explosion of primal urges. Aaron, however, stalled - trying to talk to her instead of giving in to her beauty. "You coming up with me to see my friends later?" Ariyanna sighed, expecting the stall - especially when they got too close. "Will they be ok with that? You're friends I mean?" "I'm sure they will." "Good. Now where were we?" And with that, Ariyanna tried to move in on Aaron for the much expected kiss but was interrupted by the elevator doors opening - Kyosuke exiting. He stopped at the door, noticing that Aaron and his date was about to kiss. He turned around from slight embarassment, facing the wall of the elevator, causing Ariyanna to giggle lightly; Aaron had smiled also from the light comedy. "S-Sorry. I wasn't trying to intrude on the two of you." Ariyanna spoke up. "It's ok." She then looked to Aaron. "I was just leaving." Aaron looked shocked from the words, their agreement to visit Aaron's friends shredded. Arron gave Ariyanna a concerned / hurt look but she was completely ready with an excuse and a reson to boot. "I need to get ready for my finals also, Aaron. You need to remember that we're in the same boat, okay?" Aaron had heard a faint tone during the sentence, saying 'I'm starting to get fed up with this s**t'. Arron, however, didn't bite at her lure. "That's right." Aaron lied, smaking himself on the forehead. He then kissed her on the cheek - which wasn't much but would suffice. "Go then. I know you'll do great." "Thanks." Ariyanna then walked off away from the two boys - Kyosuke walking towards Aaron from the elevator now. Kyo had a big smile on his face as Aaron looked towards him, causing Aaron to get a little defensive. "What?" "I can't believe that you got a date with her after she beat the crap outta you." Aaron smiled, understanding what Kyosuke meant. Aaron replied with the same reason to Kyo as he did with Ariyanna. "Like I told her," Aaron said to Kyosuke, still with a grin. "I had nothing to lose." "I heard that." Kyosuke agreed. He then remembered wanting to meet Aaron in the first place. "Oh yeah. I needed to talk to you..." "About the Finals?" Arron said, understanding immediately. "So you heard the intercom also?" Kyosuke asked, unconsiously walking to the Headmaster's office unbeknownst to Aaron. However, he kept up step with Orias as he talked. "Yes, I did. We're on teams with Lazarus and Blaize." Aaron shook his head from thinking Blaize's name. "What's wrong?" Kyo asked. "... Blaize is a great blue magi user and all, but..." Aaron stopped, collecting his thoughts. "But?" Kyosuke stated, his eyes focused on where he was walking while still giving the platinum haired boy his full attention. "He's the type of person that just exudes..." "An asshole?" Kyo finished with a smug grin. Aaron looked at Kyo, flashing a smile to keep from laughing. "Yeah. An ass." "That's all I need to know..." Kyo stated, resuming his serious look. Soon, Aaron asked Kyosuke a question. "What do you know about Lazarus? Is he an okay guy?" Kyo chucked lightly, thinking about what Aaron had just said while thinking about how he felt about the Black Magi user. He looked up to the sky for a second, trying to choose his words carefully. "He's... not exactly my 'cup of tea' if you understand what I mean." "I don't, actually." Aaron said to Kyo, his face taut trying to keep step. "What do you mean exactly?" Kyo sighed silently. He hated to express his personal feelings about others - especially if the feeling was negative. But it looked like Aaron was a person who just wanted answers and nothing more. "Lazarus... may come off as an ass, like this Blaize you speak of," Kyosuke realigned his glasses on his ears so they could rest comfortably on his ears before continuing. "But he's not really as bad as you may think. Hopefully, that's clear enough for you Aaron." Kyo said, glad that he wasn't expressing his personal opinions of others anymore. Aaron looked at Kyo as Kyo looked at him before Aaron looked forward again. "Vague, but it'll do. Thanks." Aaron said, a grin on his face as he patted Kyo against his bad shoulder. Kyosuke cringed in pain unconsiously, stopping in his tracks. Aaron saw Kyosuke wince and immediately apoligized, knowing full well that he was hurt just as bad in the trials. "I am so, so, sososososo sorry!" Aaron said, trying to look into Kyo's eyes to see if he would be alright. "Are you okay?" "Fine, fine..." Kyo said with a smug grin. "It's nothing, really." "Like hell. I couldv'e caused nerve damage to your shoulder." Aaron said, making sure that his shoulder was in tip top shape. Aaron then pulled out his Blue Magi crystal and his Support Magi crystal and held them over his wound. As Aaron closed his eyes, the two crystals began to glow a translucent lavender. Aaron then put the two magi crystals on Kyo's shoulder - Kyo making a strange look from Aaron's magi and the effect it had on him. "What the hell?!" Kyo said quietly, but loud enough for Aaron to hear. "The pain? It dissapated! But.. how did you?" He looked to Aaron who wore a grin on his face - glad to help. "Ariyanna - my date - was gracious enough to teach me some of her knowledge in the Black Magi field." Aaron began to state. "She told me that Black Magi and Support Magi had many uses, her 'supposed fact' being backed up by Mr. Phoenix himself. so after she talked to me about the uses of Black Magi and what not, I began to go home and tinker with the combined powers of my two powers: Necromancy and Healra with the aid of many textbooks on Black Magic" Aaron held up the two magi crystal's to Kyo in each hand - the Blue Magi crystal vastly smaller than the Support. Aaron continued. "I found a way to combine the two powers, thus nullifying all pain in the body. The downside, however, is that you cannot get your wounds healed with this ability. Period." Aaron made it very clear by using that one word - period. However, Kyo was clearly impressed. "That's amazing, Aaron. I had no idea of the possibilities." "Me neither. I just learned how to master it last night." Aaron grinned. He then frowned a little afterwards. "But I don't think that Ariyanna likes me staying to myself all the time. She almost seems 'too' good for me, you know the feeling?" Kyosuke thought about it for a minute before answering. "Yeah, I do." Kyo then tried to change the subject for the better. "Anyway, um... thank yo-" "No apoligies neccesary for the arm." Aaron said, grin returning. "Just be more careful next time." They then continued their walk. As they walked to the Headmaster's destination, Aaron realized that they were going way off of his intended direction. "Um, Kyosuke? Where exactly are we going?" Aaron stated, not meaning to follow Kyosuke consiously. Though he wanted to talk more about the Finals, stategies, and their teammates, he also expected to see his remaining friends as well. ~========== O ==========~ New Magi: Epidural - This is a support ability and can be used for allies or opponents. this magic must have Necromancy used in conjunction. Orcus
Post Trial: In the Infirmary ????? Ayame exited the room, leaving a confused Havok, Rinoa, and Carrot. Havok shook off his confusion and looked over to Carrot in a confused manerism and questioned her as to her previous comment. "I can't quite understand why you'd call me an idiot, but none-the-less, I look forward to working on a team with you. I've seen your fire magi, and it's quite skilled and powerful. That'll definitely play into our teams strategies... Three skilled fire magic users can raise some serious hell. And when the wind picks up, fire can become a force not to be reckoned with." Rinoa smiled and leaned onto Havok, and the brief show of display kept either of them from noticing Carrot's slight smile. Carrot quickly reclaimed her previous attitude and yelled at Havok. "Yah, whatever! No one in here requires immediate attention, so you're just taking up room. Get out... And we can talk about meeting up and training later." She said the last of her sentence with a slight smile. Havok and Rinoa grinned at her and stood up, exiting the infirmary as well. Once outside, a thought suddenly came to Havok, and he truned to Rinoa quickly. "Sweetie, I gotta go take care of something quickly. I promised Blaize we'd talk after the trials, and lord know's he's trashing our room in some wild, celebratory ritual. I'll meet up with you, Carrot, and Sakura later for training, 'kay?" Rinoa nodded and leaned up to Havok, kissing him. She smiled and spoke softly. "Of course. See you later, love." They kissed again, and Havok departed for his room, looking for Blaize. He was sad that the two of them hadn't ended up in the same group, but at least they both made it through. They only faced one more task, and they'd be Risk Breakers soon. He was sure of it. His strength wouldn't fail him, not ever again. He knew now the true extent of his abilities, the faith his friends had in his ability. They would always be behind him. And in all honesty, Havok needed to go thank Blaize. Kyo and Blaize, even if they had oly been illusions, had been there to restore courage to him, moreso than his other friends, save Rinoa. Blaize probably wouldn't care, but he had to tell his friend that he had helped hi through in his time of need. He was also interested in finding out what had happened in Blaize's trial. Who knows how much they'd have before they needed to get back to preparing. [-Alex-] It was nine, and Alex had once again found himself in his dorm. For some reason or another, half way towards the Infirmary, he decided to abandon the idea and just take a nap. He was pretty sure that Nurse Mallon would say that they were too sick or bad off or some other excuse for any visitors to come, so it really wasn?t worth the walk. Instead, he found himself staring at a red trench coat on his bed. It was the last thing his father gave him, and it was nothing significant at all. Minus the odd symbol printed on the back, it didn?t appear to have any use beyond just another coat to wear. It still looked nice, however. It had a nice feel to it, and whenever he put it on, for whatever reason, he felt strong, like he could take on an army, and then some. Maybe because it was the only gift he ever remembered his dad ever giving him. For whatever reason, it felt good. Alex smiled. He would look good in it at the Final Exam. Who knows, maybe even all high and mighty herself would notice it. OOC: Okay, I finally got a post done! I know BK needs to post, so I am going to let him post. If he doesn?t by this time tomorrow, I?m going to move on without him. TheResplendent
Kyosuke stopped a few feet away from the Headmaster's office, he looked over at Aaron who was looking back at him expecting an answer to his question. Kyosuke figured it to be bad timing to be summoned as he was since he wanted to spend some time getting to know Aaron a little better. Had Sakura been with them she would have recognized right away what Kyosuke was trying to do. She had seen it before, Kyo would try to find out as much about someone as possible so he could gauge their potential and enough of their personality type and abilities to figure out the best way to incorporate them with his plans. He did it everytime their class would undergo major team based exercises or exams in the past, and even a couple of times before spars. Kyosuke was like a psychologist in terms of analyzing the people he spoke to and was good at telling how useful someone would be. He very rarely ever made any actual friends like that though. Kyosuke returned his look toward the Headmaster's office and spoke again. "My apologies for having to cut this short, however I have a meeting with the Headmaster. After it concludes I hope it would be ok if we met again to speak further." "Oh, no problem at all. Hope everything goes well!" Aaron answered. Kyosuke walked away and knocked on the Headmaster's door. Aaron watched him a bit longer then turned and continued back on his way. Kyosuke kept his head down awaiting the answer from behind the door. Something compelled him however, he placed is hand over on the shoulder that still hadn't completely healed for months and yet the soreness had been almost eradicated by Aaron's spell. He didn't want to tell Aaron about the wound he had suffered from the trial, eventhough he figured if it worked wonders on his shoulder it would be a great help to his left side. Kyosuke turned around before Aaron was completely out of sight and called out to him. "Aaron! Again...thank you." He said, feeling the need still for some reason to express his thanks. "Heh, it's like I told you! No thanks neccesary man," Aaron repeated, with a slight smile on his face. The two nodded at each other, as the Headmaster's door opened up before him. "Kyosuke Orias? Well...it's a pleasure to finally meet you face to face! I'm Headmaster Enteri's assistant, Teyla Enteri..." the very young and attractive looking girl said. Kyosuke practically stared in amazement at her, she looked no older then he was. She looked like a student rather then an assistant...she was very cute though. He wondered how she had procured such an important position...that's when he finally took notice to her name. "Enteri...? You mean you're..." "The Headmaster's daughter, yes." she said, giggling as she eyed Kyosuke up and down. "Oh...I didn't know he had a daughter...you look so young i would have mistook you for a student!" Kyosuke said, adjusting his glasses. "Well, I AM a student. I'm in the junior class, right below yours." Teyla responded, moving a bit closer toward Kyosuke. 'She's 16!? No way...' Kyosuke thought to himself. He tried to look over her to see inside the office but the whip of her hair spinning diverted his attention as she spun around with her back now facing him. "Please come this way! The Headmaster and Sage Orias are waiting inside," Teyla exclaimed as she lead the way in. Kyosuke was taken a bit by suprise hearing his father referred to as "Sage Orias". It had been so long since he heard that, not since his last trip with his father to the eastern continent so many years. He was referred to by everyone as Sage...a very powerful and pristigious title. The academy library even had some books written by him on hand for students studying certain elements. But even so, hearing it at that time brought upon notalgic feelings within Kyosuke. Kyosuke followed Teyla as she walked in a sort of cutsey manner which involved wiggling her butt and weaving a pen between her fingers. She stopped short by a door way and spun around to face Kyosuke. "So tell me...what was it like? Going through the trials...all the work involved in becoming a Risk Breaker for that matter," she asked him. "Oh...um...well it was tedious at a few points I suppose...but for the most part it was all rather simple. The trial..." Kyosuke said, ending off with his last word as flashbacks of his trial zipped through his head of him fighting for his life, the type of atmosphere, the anger he felt, the giant Chimerageist his father had summoned on him trying to kill him...everything in contrary to the atmosphere in the Headmaster's office at that time...it seemed hard to believe that outside of a battlefield these students who would become Risk Breakers are capable of such things. He wasn't quite sure how to explain the trials to a junior student...especially one that didn't look like she was cut out for battle at all. Kyosuke went on to continue but a voice came from beyond the doorway distracting him. "Kyosuke! Stop flirting with the Headmaster's daughter and come in here!" his father's voice said. Kyosuke looked inside and saw him standing there, and alongside him was Headmaster Enteri. Kyosuke wore a concerned look on his face and started waving his hands infront of him feverishly trying to dispell what his father had just said, hoping that the Headmaster didn't really think that he was trying to hit on his daughter. "Wha...what!? Don't be silly! I'm doing no such thing! I would ever...it's so disrespectful! I can't believe you would..." "Hahahaha! I'm only kidding son, come on in here now!" his father said again, getting a good laugh at his son's expense. Kyosuke narrowed his eyes and sighed with frustration. His father hadn't changed one bit. He may be a genius and the most talented wizard and alchemist of the two continents, but he acted like a damn child infront of people that he knew. Kyosuke was easily unamused by his father's jokes, and it didn't seem to change much. Kyosuke walked in a bit before turning to Teyla and bowing to her slightly in a gesture of thanks for seeing him in. She put her hand up to her mouth and giggled as she turned and walked away leaving the three of them in privacy. "Headmaster, sir...what is it you have summoned me for" Kyosuke said in an extremely respectable tone, as he bowed to him as well, only much more formally then then the bow he did to Teyla. Kyosuke looked up with his irises though his head was bent. The sight of Headmaster Enteri was the picture of officiality. He was a tall and broad man, someone who looked like he would be a general in the military. He was well groomed and dressed in an expensive suit, someone who truly looked like he commanded the respect and loyalty of many. Kyosuke felt a hand slap his back while he was bowing, he looked over at his father who had a big smile on his face. "I had Aramis call you here so I could talk to you. Afterall you passed out coming out of your trial." his father told him. Kyosuke knew that his father and the Headmaster were close friends and went pretty far back, it was no suprise that he called him by his first name. "Yes, Kyosuke. Your father has something important to tell you before he leaves. Before that however, allow me to congratulate you on passing your trial. I have no doubt that you will excell incredibly as one of this academy's top Risk Breakers." Headmaster Enteri said, as he nodded toward Kyosuke with sincere eyes. Kyosuke was overcome at those words as he bowed his head again and thanked the Headmaster deeply. "Anyway! Son listen, the way I was during your trial...you have to understand that I had to do what was neccesary to truly test you in every way. I love you Kyosuke, I always have...and your mother would be very proud of you as well..." Vidale started to say. Kyosuke lowered his eyes after hearing his mother referred to. There were plenty of times where Kyosuke also wished she was still around. "Your going to do great in your final exam son, but i thought you may be interested in this!" Vidale continued, as he reached out and took Kyosuke's cross in the palm of his hand as it hung around his neck. Kyosuke looked in confusion as his father held his cross, as if he were giving it to him for a second time. "My cross...wait! What was that during the trial? You summoned that beast out of my cross didn't you?" Kyosuke asked, suddenly remembering what had happened in that chamber. "Yes...the power of the Chimerageist. My most prized relic acquisition. After years of research i found a way to reseal it's power into this...the cross...before you left for Argo Arx Acanum. I knew it would one day help you when you got older, i'm happy to say that i know full well that you are worthy of it's power Kyosuke." Kyosuke looked at him wide eyed in suprise, figuring he knew what his father was trying to tell him. "You mean...the Chimerageist..." "Yes Kyosuke, you now control it's power. You are it's new master, and it is your new summon. Call on it at anytime for it's power and it will assist you." his father said, placing both hands on Kyo's shoulders. Kyosuke thought back to the trial and remembered how he beat it. It gave him a huge fight as well as the huge injury he sustained. He remember how it controlled multiple elements at a time, each head and his double snake tail seemed to control each one...he saw an example of every element in attack except for earth. He then remembered what the conditions were for him to beat him, had he not bothered to save the fake Ayame and Sakura. "...Wait a minute...why would I want a summon who could be defeated simply by striking it's chest area?" Kyosuke asked. "Haha! I only made that his weak point for the sake of the battle Kyosuke. It was meant to entice you to take the easy kill, to see if you could be tempted to forsake your friends. Trust me, it is much more difficult to defeat it in actuality...oohhhh....another thing though....he kind of has a bad...well...attitude." Kyosuke raised his eyebrow wondering what his father was trying to say. "Bad...attitude? What do you mean by that?" Kyosuke asked. "Oh...nothing! Don't worry about it son...just know that no matter what, his power is at your disposal. I have made sure of it." his father said, in a not so assuring tone. "But..." "No buts! Everything will be fine! Now, get out of here. Me and Aramis have some other issues to talk about and then i gotta get back to Archadia." Kyosuke nodded and was about to turn around, when his father once again stopped him. "Oh! By the way...those two girls from your mind in the trial...which one is your girlfriend?" his father asked, leaning in and giving him a few winking gesture. "What!? What are you talking about...neither! I mean...we're friends..." "Oh please! Don't try to fool your old man...i bet it's the one with the short brown hair...shes a real cutey! You lucky dog you....or wait! Is it the one with purplish hair? She's real pretty, you better look after her! Hey, is that the Sakura you always used to write home about? Hm, your really popular with the ladies here aren't you!?" Kyosuke fumed inside at how his father was endlessly trying to embarrass him. He gave his final bow and stormed out of the room without answering. His father got a good laugh and turned his attention to Headmaster Enteri. "Hehe...he's a good kid. It was really good seeing him again...and i'm rather glad i didn't have to kill him! Hahaha!" Vidale said as he and Headmaster Enteri enjoyed a drink with each other. Kyosuke passed by Teyla as he opened the door to his office, he was prompty stopped though by her grabbing his arm. "Hey...maybe after you guys take the finals...i'll see you at the dance afterwards!" she said giving him a sexy wink. "Oh...uh...s, sure! I'll see ya there...Teyla." Kyosuke said a bit embarrased by her advances, as well as fearful for her father walking out to see him. He frantically tried to pull himself away from her, as she finally let go and saw him out with a little wave. Kyosuke waved back and walked a little faster toward the elevator. Kyosuke thought to himelf intently about what his father told him about the cross. He was curious to know how to handle it properly. He was hoping he'd get an oppurtunity to try it out before the actual final. He then remembered that he wanted to catch up with Aaron, as well as needing to get his official release from Nurse Mallon...and he wanted to look for Ayame as well to check on her. He was still a bit worried about when she ran out of the infirmary. He figured he had a lot to do and put off his Chimerageist test run for another time. ooc: Yep, Kyosuke has a new summon now. Can't wait to start writing some scenes about that...hehe. ooc2: Sorry bout the short interaction at the beggining Acheron, the whole idea was for it to be poorly timed though. I sent you a PM with more details.
Doublehex
[-Alex-] The Next Day, Briefing --- Alex stood in the auditorium, along with the three hundred and fourty six other Trial finalists. For the past hour, they had slowly been gathering in from the whole of the Academy, those who were the unluckiest to arrive first waiting anxiously for the whole of the school to move faster. Eventually, all who needed to come came, and the Headmaster himself made his appearance. ?So?, he began, ?it had come down to this. Three hundred and forty six students are all that is left. You are the greatest among your peers, but not all of you will return as Risk Breakers. Those of you that do will be forever known as the greatest soldiers of our time! Victory and defeat, honor and disgrace, respect and hatred, these all come hand in hand.? He coughed slightly before he continued. ?Your mission, your first true mission, is Morrie. Seventy-two hours ago, Archadia invaded it on accounts that they were housing a terrorist organization that kidnapped a soldier on their borders. In an unforeseeable act of savagery, Archadia?s pacifist leader, Javiar Galdue, threw away any suggestion of a treaty and went on a full out assault. Morrie has just recently called for our aid, and we will do so in an attempt to test you all one last time. The specifics of the said mission will be given onto you en route to the island? He saluted. ?Dismissed!? The Clock Turns to Three --- ?Hey, that?s a nice coat Alex!? Ayame, as usual, was her perky self, even in the crammed car that was J-2?s route of transportation to the town of Gaul, where the Final Exam would begin. ?Where?d you get it?? ?I found it?, he shrugged. ?Really? You didn?t buy it for someone?? Stephen snickered lightly at Ayame?s comment. Alex blushed slightly. ?Awww, cheer up Alex!? ?I still can?t believe it?? James said, breaking the silence. ?I don?t understand why Archadia would attack that island city-state of Morrie. I mean, you know how peaceful their ruler, uh, Javiar Galdue I think is his name, is. He?s more of a pacifist than pacifists! Why would he resort to war?? Stephen nodded. ?You know, you?re right. It?s pretty weird. I mean, he may be a dictator in name, but he really is just a man for the people. So, why the hell does he go to war on so small an issue as some random terrorists kidnapping a lone soldier of his? Just because they were FROM Morrie, it doesn?t necessarily mean the man sent them.? ?Y?know, I never thought of it like that.? Ayame turned to Alex. ?What do you think, Alex? Why is Galdue doing all these crazy things?? ?I don?t care. We are just going there to kill, and if that is what the Academy wants us to do, then let?s just do it. I don?t really care for the background?I just care about the now.? *** Alex watched as the last of the Morrian marines entered their transports. They were to clear the way for the Academy?s students at the beach fall?to take the main hits so that Alex and the others would clean up the mess. When the first of the transports left, Alex blew them a kiss farewell. ?See you guys in hell.? *** The Next Day, Landing --- Alex starred into the console window of the transport, listening intently to the orders they were given by the Academy. The Risk Breakers would land onto the southern and eastern beaches of Morrie. J-2 group would be with the majority, and land at the Southern beach. From there, they would have to move through the alleyways of the city, and descend into the power supply of the city, and disable it. Although this would make the city?s defense system useless, the artillery cannons and energy guns that were placed throughout the city that the Archadians are using were of much higher concern. From there, they had to secure the Central Square of the city. After that, they would be given new orders. ?I?m going onto the deck?, Alex announced the group. With that, he opened the upper hatch and climbed into the sunny air. Morrie was in sight. OOC Allright, we're almost at the mission! No one post of the actual landing yet...just the inbetween. Be patient, it will be worth it, trust me! :)
Darth Vectis
Bliaze sat on the transport, slowly grabbing shells from his belt and pushing them into the slot on his shotgun. He sighed as he did so, Just had to unload them yesterday didn't ya?. A moment later he chuckled to himself, the marine sitting next to him looking at him oddly. Blaize didn't care, he was just remembering why he was loading them back into his shotgun. Flashback: Day after the trials ended Blaize had been walking through the halls bored out of his mind as he waited for something to happen or someone to pass by so he could mock them in anyway and then just walk away. Unfortunetly, he found no one the entire time he stood around, he didn't see anyone until Havok appeared from the hallways. Obviously a bit tired looking but still managed to keep that cheery exterior. Blaize sighed. "Shouldn't you be dead Havok?" Havok continued to forward and stopped in front of his friend, then patted him on the shoulder. "Not before you do Blaize, and trust me, your the more likely of the two of us to die." Blaize laughed lightly to himself, pulling his shotgun free from the holster and kind of spinning it. He started to look around Havok and spoke to him at the same time. "Wheres your girlfriend Havok? Didn't think you could split you two apart even with a cowbar." Blaize placed the pump of the shotgun in his left hand and cocked it, a shell shooting out. Blaize catching it quickly in mid-air, Havok taking little notice and chuckling. "Well, I told her I cam to talk to you." Blaize swung the shotgun so it was under his arm, he pumped it again and the shell came flying out. He caught this one next, Havok still trying not to notice. "Well isn't that nice. Havok decided to see the school ass rather then be with his girlfriend. Round of applause goes to you." Blaize put the pump of the shotgun on his neck, cocked it and caught the third shell. Havok spoke again. "So, how was your trial Blaize. I'm sure it was just calls of fun for you." Blaize's shotgun dropped behind him from his neck, and landed in his left hand. He pumped it once more behind him, watched as the fourth shell went over his head and caught it. "Not really. I didn't get to shoot anything, got a new spell though. But, still didn't get to shoot anything." Blaize brought the shotgun around and stuck it under his elft arm this time, pumped and caught the fifth shell. "So how did your trial go Havok?" "It went rather well, thanks to you." Blaize scoffed as he brought his shotgun arounf for one last pump. "I didn't help a damn. If I was really there I would have proably fucked it up for you." Havok shook his head, Blaize brought the shotgun over to his shoulder, and pumped it the last time. Thsi time the shell got lose and Havok had to catch it, Blaize slid the shotgun abck into the holster and smiled. Havok sighed. "Can't you ever do anything normal? Or without showing off?" BLaize looked up at the ceiling, like a child would. The looked back to his friend and shook his head. "Nope, not really. Got to make it flashier then it really is, makes like more fun. Don't be such a stickler." Havok raised and eyebrow at him. "You know, if you weren't such and ass people might actually want to talk to you." Blaize shrugged his shoulders, he held out his hand and Havok handed over the stray shell. "I don't care what they think. I am who I am, i'm not gonna change for them. And besides, who needs other peopel to talk to. I can talk to you all day, or at least until I find something to shoot." Havok rolled his eyes and sighed, he waved to hsi friend. "Well, i'm off. Try not to kill anyone would ya." "I'll try." Blaize and Havok went different ways. Present time: Transport Blaize sighed after he finished loading in the shells and leaned back into his seat. Slowly closing his eyes to get some rest or to at least pass the time.
Orcus
Havok- On Transport ????? Havok sat near the window, staring out into the vast distance. The others were talking about the mission ahead, what they thought of it, but he really didn't care. They would be going to fight, regardless of what the reason, so there was no point in bringing emotions along. If he got too involved, he may not be able to make the necessary moves, and he could endanger everyone. That was the last thing he wanted. Especially in a group full of woman. He was nowhere near a male supremist, and he knew that all those girls in his group could kick his ass in a flash, but he would never live with himself if serious harm befell them. It was finally beginning to sink on him the true extent of what was going on, though. This was it. The final test. And now everything they had learned, through classes or not, would be put to the test. He had learned plenty from his teachers, but he had learned more from his friends. Without them, even with all his formal training, he'd be as good as dead. He himself had taught Blaize a thing or two about fighting. Blaize lacked defensive abilities in battle, and would often get roughed up. Havok would always come and visit him in the Infirmary, laughing. He would then share his view on getting hit in battle, as he rarely ever did. "In all honesty, my speed's so great because there's only one philosophy I have on being attacked: If I let them hit me, it might hurt. And you've proved that quite well." Even though Blaize would always shrug of, eventually the phrase stuck, and his evasiveness increased dramatically. He never did actually thank Havok, but he implied it. And now they were both going off into the thick of battle, without the ability to cover each other's ace. Havok had always promised Blaize that he would have his back, and now he couldn't come through with that. But he intended to come through for his team. He looked them over, one by one, until finally his eyes rested on Rinoa. She gazed at him too, and their eyes connected. She knew exactly what he was promising, and she mentally promised the same thing, nodding to him. They held hands for a moment, reassuring each other it would all be fine. "You'd better not mess up out there, or I'll have your hide." Rinoa spoke jestingly, despite her worry. Havok laughed and nodded over to Carrot. "I'm more worried about her ripping me limb from limb." He directed his voice towards Carrot after that. "But don't worry, alright? I promise not to let you down, any of you." His eyes flashed from Carrot to Sakura as he said that. They both nodded, and a soldier laughed at Havok's comment. Havok looked at him, questioningly. "Something funny?" The soldier nodded and looked out the window. "I made the same promises my first mission. Thing is, after you keep doing this, you don't need to make the promise anymore. It's just understood. Often times, though, one makes the promise and doesn't come through with it. But looking at you guys... I think you're a pack of naive brats, making a promise without knowing what exactly you're getting into." Havok opened his mouth to protest, but the soldier continued. "However, that spark in your eyes, the spark of ambition... I have faith that your word is valid." They all grinned at one another, with newfound courage and strength as they neared their trial. ? ♥ ? OOC: Just a little character interaction. Hope that's alright with everyone.
TheResplendent
On the transport: Team E6 - - - - - - - - Kyosuke looked around at everyone else in the transport with him. Himself, Lazarus, Blaize, Aaron...even the marines accompanying them were quiet. Since leaving port neither of the 4 members of the squad had very much to say to one another. Everyone pretty much kept to themselves, thinking either about what was ahead of them or the events of the day before today. Time had fled by so fast, the 12 students who spent years training to become risk breakers have finally reached the day where all of their hard work would finally pay off. Kyosuke sat quietly with his head down, deep in thought. It was the hardest for him to accept the fact that they had to go through with this mission, when he heard that it was the forces of Archadia they were to oppose. He still knew people back in Archadia from when he was a child, and of course his father who still resided there. He wasn't going to pretend to know everything about the situation, but he knew that there was no turning back now. Morrie was paying the academy for their services, and it was to be their final exam, as well as first mission. He knew however that his Father often served as an advisor to Javiar Galdue, he couldn't help but wonder how much his father actually had to do with this decision. He wanted to believe none, but he could also see things from Archadia's point of view, considering the danger involved. However, the students weren't there to express their opinions. A part of being a Risk Breaker was being skilled in the art of trained incapacity. A marine looked over at Kyosuke and notices his uneasy expression. "Hey kid, don't worry so much. Things are going to go pretty smoothly if we have anything to say about it." Kyosuke didn't look up, but sneered a bit inside at the soldier's ignorance. He knew he was only trying to helpful, but remained silent. It wasn't his nerves that was the issue, and eventhough there was no way for the soldiers to know that he ignored them rather then correct them. His thoughts began to focus on the previous day, the student's last day together until after the mission...and that's if everyone survives. The day before... - - - - - - - - The students had gotten together for an informal get together before their final exam. It was late into the evening already, Kyosuke had wandered off onto the nearest balcony which overlooked the water bordering the academy. He took a few sips of his drink and placed his glass on the banister. Footsteps interuppted his train of thought as he turned his head slightly to see Aaron approaching him. "Hey, everything ok man?" Aaron asked, leaning on the banister beside Kyosuke. "Yes...everything is fine. Just doing some last minute planning before tomorrow." "The gears never stop turning do they?" Aaron responded in a joking tone. Kyosuke smirked a bit. He realized that he never really had the oppurtunity to finish up talking with Aaron, but he had lost motivation suddenly. All he could think about at that moment was the next day, what his father told him about his cross, and for some reason both Ayame and Sakura were on his mind. He noticed Ayame was spending more time than usual with Stephen, and he couldn't help but feel like he had done something to create a distance between them. The whole night he had wanted to approach her but for some reason he couldn't think of what to say to her. At the same time he had been spending more time with Sakura...he knew he didn't have to worry about her...but he did anyway because he knew they weren't on the same squad. Kyosuke looked over at Aaron, realizing that he had not responded yet to his last comment. "No...i suppose they don't..." Kyosuke responded, not able to say much but not wanting to be rude either. Aaron glanced over and noticed Kyo was a bit short on words for the time being, he understood and didn't want him to feel forced to conversate if he didn't want to. "Hey, look. I don't want things to be awkward, you and me don't have to speak right now. I know there's probably a lot on your mind. But before i leave i just want to make sure you know one thing...and that's I trust you. Tomorrow, we're going to make a hell of a team." Aaron said confidently. Kyosuke turned to him, and nodded in acknowledgement. He knew he was most likely not going to have a problem working with Aaron, he had little concerns. Aaron walked away as Kyosuke fully turned around himself and went back into lounge where everyone was to rejoin his friends. He sat down with Havok, Rinoa, Sakura, and Blaize and joined in a conversation. He drowned out a portion of it as he turned his attention to Sakura for a bit...looking into her eyes. They always seemed soft and gentle, oddly enough they did then as well. Kyo knew Sakura always got restless before big exam, and tomorrow was as big as they come. Kyo lost himself in thought, still staring at Sakura. He didn't notice when Sakura turned her head and looked his way. He snapped out of it and noticed her eyes locked onto his. For some reason it took Kyosuke by surprise and send a chill down his spine. Kyo and Sakura looked away from each other at the same time so not to draw attention to them since they were being addressed in the conversation. Kyosuke wondered why Sakura's gaze had never made him feel that way before. His head was too full to give it enough attention, as it usually was. For one reason or another though, he found it difficult to get Sakura out of his head for that night. Present day... - - - - - - - - "She'll be ok...I know it..." Kyosuke thought to himself, trying to relieve himself of one of his many concerns at that time. Tekkaman
While on the E-6 transport, heading towards the Finals... "Hey kid, don't worry so much. Things are going to go pretty smoothly if we have anything to say about it." The soldier said to Kyosuke. Aaron frowned at the soldier while the soldier looked at Kyo. * And what the hell are you gonna do, huh? Complete the finals for us? * Aaron thought to himself in disgust. He gave the transport ship a onceover with his eyes as the soldiers words dissapated in his mind. The Transport was big enough for the 6'0 soldier to stand upright in but because of the other four students inside of the transport, movement for him was very, very limited. It was built to be spacious, of course, but only for two or three people max - excluding the transport driver, who had his own room. The object in the transport that took up the most room for the students though, was a table bridging the gap between two sofa-like metal seats that the four students sat in, facing each other. Kyosuke and Aaron took the left side seat and Lazarus-Blaize took the other side. The air conditioning was very limited and because of the excess amount of people inside of the transport, body heat was causing the tempature to climb. Combine that with Blaize and Lazarus' inability to get along due to their conflicting personalities and you might as well have stuck the four students in the middle of a Kuwait desert without water. So far, the two haven't been arguing but Aaron didn't know how long their silence would hold. Meanwhile, Kyosuke was deep in thought. Aaron decided to break the silence by speaking to Blaize. Talking to Lazarus would've been worse in Aaron's opinion because of how he was and Kyosuke seemed to be in some sort of hypnotic state. "So, Blaize? How was your trial? I mean... I know you passed and all because you're here but how was it? Like, what happened?" Aaron couldn't figure out why he couldn't sound himself whenever he talked to Blaize. He could talk to Kyosuke just fine. What made this guy any different? Blaize stopped cleaning his shotgun and looked at the one who started talking to him, Aaron Covais. He knew of his Support ability and thought of him as a great addition to the group. However, he thought his Blue Magi knowledge and abilities were sub-par and because of that reason, thought that Aaron wasn't deserving of his knowledge and needed more self-training. "Humph." He puffed out. "I picked up a new power." "Really?" Aaron's eyes grew wide with excitement. Power was the one thing that kept Aaron's spirits up in this school for so long. "What's it like?" Blaize smiled, looking at the child-like excitement of Aaron. "It's on a need-to-know-basis." "...Meaning?" "You don't need to know." * Asshole * Aaron thought, perturbed with the sarcasm of Blaize. He decided, however, that he should keep his emotions on the up-and-up for the sake of the group. "Well, I'm sure that it is cool." "Wouldn't you like to know?" Blaize continued on Aaron. Blaize wanted to say more but was cut off by a certain Black Magi user. "Shut up. I hope you know the only one who's listening to you right now is yourself." Lazarus cut in. Aaron sighed to himself while the two bickered to themselves in the ship. *Here we go again.* He thought. Aaron got up from his seat next to Kyo and began to go up to the top of the ship by a small staircase. As he made it to the top, he opened the door to the outside. He looked at the beauty of the crystal blue ocean and the clouds from above whooshing past them. Aaron perfered being to himself in times of stress - with the exception of battles - and he enjoyed being around water because of the peacefulness it creates. Being on the top of the ship, looking out towards the sea - Aaron considered it double dipping, putting a smile on his face. As Aaron was looking out the ship, he pulled a piece of paper from his right pocket. The paper was long since worn and the letters originally written upon it were no longer visible. You?re one too, ya know?? ?Besides,? Sakura added, ?we will have the support of some of the Marines as well. We?re not totally on our own!? Carrot blushed slightly. ?No! That?s not the point. Lazarus
Lazarus stood and clmibed the ladder up to the hatch of the ship, arriving on the deck. He gve Aaron a wide berth, and moved around to the prow of the ship. He climbed over the guardrail with a fluid grace, and settled down on the front of the ship, letting the spray from the bobbing prow wash over him. A sudden impulse took Lazarus, and he reached up and pushed his hood back, forcibly dispelling the magical darkness that shrouded his features. He removed the black gloves on his hands, revealing the deathly pale skin underneath. His fingers slowly traced the markings he knew were around his eyes. The serpent-like stripes, that carried a soft crimson color, not unlike his eyes. The spray washed his features, gathering in droplets on his face and hands, and slowly ran down to drip onto his cloak, and the ship itself, even as his mind was miles away. Without even thinking, his fingers convulsed, and the shadows on the deck thickened, and flowed, gathering into his hand, before fading back, leaving his family's sword behind, firmly clenched in his grip. He produced a whetstone from under his cloak, and began to sharpen the normally dull edges. It was time to use what was his birthright.
Tekkaman
As Aaron sat on the top deck, now with Lazarus... * What the hell? * Aaron noticed his shadow making oblong shapes in the clear of day. Though he was outside on top of a transport ship, he had never seen his shadow move so erratically. He twisted and turned to find the source of his shadow's strange behavior, only to find Lazarus McCloud: A friend of Aaron's none-the-less. Aaron decided to walk over to the Black Magi user and create a little small talk on top of the transports. As Aaron got up and began to walk to Lazarus, he soon noticed a fairly large black blade being weilded by him. This - unconsiously - caused Aaron to ask Lazaurs about it while he still stood behind him. "I thought you used cards. Where'd the blade come from?" "...It's none of your buisness." Lazarus replied, his face unseen. "Go to your own side, Covais; we'll be at the Finals soon enough." Aaron didn't however, sitting down by a now irritated Lazarus, continuing to talk. "Sorry. I just thought -" "Thought what, Covais? That we could bond? Become better friends? Actually talk to each other more?" Lazarus raised his voice while talking to Aaron. "Well... yeah." Aaron said, now looking out to the waters, avoiding eye contact with the perturbed Black Magi user. "I just wanted to know who I was working with. Wouldn't you want to do the same?" "No." Lazarus said, looking at Aaron. His face looked paler than usual. "People I get close to die. So It's better to not know any of you very well. Helps me move on with the mission." Aaron looked towards Lazarus, concerned. "I can honestly say I know what you mean. Why worry about others when they end up hurting you? I've learned that lesson all to well in life..." Lazarus turned to Aaron, slightly surprised. He was expecting Aaron to counter his opinion, not agree with it. "But..." Aaron continued. "I've begun to realize that a person, a teammate, in your corner; someone willing to fight for you is a good thing to have in life. And guess what Lazarus? You have 11 friends ready to do just that for you." He continued to look at Lazarus while speaking. "And though I didn't know these 11 people months ago, I know that they would help me however they could... and I would do the same." Lazarus, for the first time that day, smiled while looking at Aaron. "What makes you think i'll fight for you as well, Covais?" "What makes you think you won't?" Aaron countered. Lazarus tried to contain his smile as he looked to the waves but to no avail. "You've changed throughout the months; you know that?" Lazarus said. "...Maybe." Aaron said, again looking out towards the water with Lazarus. "Right now though, I just want to get on with this mission."

The moon was shining over the Morrian waters, and the waves created by the hundreds of transport engines formed a tranquil melody in Alex?s ears. He leaned up against the bars, closing his eyes as he allowed himself to be at peace, for at least just a few moments. Then, the allure of peace died away to the demands of war. Ferin sensed an unnatural sensation all of a sudden. He opened his eyes to see the island of Morrie was nearing the advancing army. Realizing it was time to be prepared, he snuck into the transport. The transport was rocked, side to side, as artillery blasts thundered across the water. The transports swerved to avoid the assault, but few were no so lucky as both students and marines were sent into a fiery oblivion. Alex could hear the sound of gunfire firing upon the transports. A few explosions accompanied the chorus of war. An artillery blast fell short and thundered right in front of J-2 group?s transport. Relentlessly, it sped onward. Sensing obstacles in front of it, the transport?s AI initiated what was nicknamed the shovers ? literally large shovels that protruded from the front of the transport that pushed away any obstacle in the transports? path. The man-made walls were obliterated. The transport, and several others, landed onto the sandy beaches. Marines and students charged outward into a welcoming greeting of bullets and artillery fire. Initiate the mission.
Lazarus
Lazarus had stayed on deck during the artillery barrage. The shadows on the deck had swarmed and protected him and Aaron, absorbing the kinetic force of the sharpnel and firing the pieces of metal back out over the water. When the transport docked Lazarus jumped down off the prow of the boat, Aaron landing close behind him. Lazarus glanced back at Aaron as bullets stretched the shadow-stuff cloaking them out, before rocketing directly back along their previous paths. The enemy quickly ceased firing on the two of them. Lazarus grinned, a feral, frightening thing. "Shall we go dance among our enemies?" Aaron's nod sent the two of them sprinting across the sand towards a knot of infantry that dotted the beach, crouched and hidden behind a protective concrete-wall. Lazarus dropped to his knees in front of the wall, and cupped his hands down low behind his back. Aaron understood, and stepped into the foothold. Lazarus launched him up high, then buried his hands in the sand, drawing on his shadow, the shadows of the men on the other side of the wall, and the shadow of the wall itself. The muscles in his back and legs strained, and the wall began to shift and rise, coming free of the beachhead. Lazarus pushed to full extension, shadow swirling around him and bolstering his strength to a freakish level. The wall groaned, and came free of the sand with a sucking sound. A large trench was left in the sand, which quickly filled and then drained with blood, from Aaron's handiwork on the opposite side. A mortar blast rocked the wall Lazarus held aloft, and he staggered back, before finding his balance finally. "Down!" He shouted. Aaron dropped, and Lazarus brought the length of concrete into a tight spin before sending it whirling off into another fortified position up the beachhead. A satisfying explosion was heard twice, once from the wall utterly shattering the softer and lighter sandbag fortifications that the mortar teams were using thanks to sighting logistics, and again when a pair of mortars (now unattended) went off harmlessly. A fireball crashed down into Lazarus's feet, but thankfully he'd already been moving forward, and the blast only propelled him forward a half-step. The enemy mages had arrived. Lazarus grinned maniacally, and strode off towards the forest where the other mages were no doubt hiding. It was time to kill them all.
TheResplendent
Kyosuke walked out of the transport behind everyone else. He looked around at the mayhem that had already ensued since they landed. The marines were engaging in combat with the forces of archadia, it was a straight up battlefield with little questions seeming to be asked. Kyo was still very hesitant about fighting the archadia forces, he preferred to acheive the squad's goal without any bloodshed...he pondered the chances of that happening probably being rather slim. He noticed Lazarus was already going on ahead, contesting Archadia's mages to buy the squad some time. Before he could move however a gunshot zoomed by his head causing him to stumble back a bit. Kyosuke looked up to see Blaize standing there with a smoking shotgun aimed at him. "Blaize! What the hell is wrong with you?" Kyosuke yelled vehemently. "Maybe you should wake up and take a look to your left. If i didn't shoot that sucker you would probably be a corpse right now. Dammit, if you're so smart and great why the hell are you just standing there like a statue doing nothing?" Kyosuke looked at the soldier who Blaize had shot, an archadia uniform clearly. He wondered how he would have dealt with it had Blaize not have been there. Would instinct have taken over, allowing Kyo to do away with the soldier? Or would enough time had been present to contemplate the choices. He knew that now was not the time for hesitation. He turned from Blaize and ran up toward where Aaron was near a supply bunker. "Aaron, where is the map?" Kyosuke asked, remembering that he had entrusted it to Aaron on the transport. "Here, it looks like we have to move north against the mountain's wall quite a bit before turning left toward Archadia's gates. The guard shouldn't be very heavy but it will be present, we're probably not going to be able to avoid fighting." Kyosuke sighed to himself, he stood and looked out at the field down the direction they had to go. He saw sparks, probably from a combination of magic clashing and gunfire and explosions. Kyosuke knew he had to think of something to make the operation go as smoothly as possible. He knew Aaron would have to be somewhat protected since he was their supporter. Blaize would be best to lead a group to clear areas out while he made his way to complete the squad's objective. He was uncertain of how the team would react to him presenting them with a well organized plan. It didn't seem like Lazarus or Blaize's style, and since he wasn't officially the leader he had no real authority either. He looked over at Aaron again and readied himself to speak but before he could two marines ran by them shoving them both out of the way. "YOU TWO! MOVE!" one of the marines said as Kyosuke and Aaron were shoved away from the area which ignited in fire, causing one of the marines to be a casualty in their name. Kyosuke's eyes widened as he saw the soldier writhe in pain from the fire. He acted quickly and began to cool the air around him to put the fire out but it quickly became too late as the soldier's body went stiff and limp. Aaron rushed over and checked him. "He's...dead. He risked his life to save us." "He...cannot be healed?" Kyosuke asked. "He's beyond any magic i could use at this point...i'm sorry. It isn't your fault either, had you put the fire out with your frost he still would have died. The cause of his death was not solely based on the fire...the explosion the magic caused in mixture with the tanks of gas caused a great deal of damage to his body already." Kyosuke closed his eyes and lamented the whole situation. He knew what to expect on a battlefield but he wondered how many times something like that had to happen before he cleared his head on what he needed to do in order to survive. He didn't know any of the Archadia soldiers personally but it was still the fact that he couldn't get the idea that his father had something to do with the decision out of his head. He hoped that when it was all over, he would have the chance to speak to him. Kyo looked up and saw a group of mages approaching them. No doubt they were the ones that blew the area, killing the marine that saved their lives. Lazarus was still out in the field, Blaize was exchanging shots with some other marines toward the beach area to allow other transports to arrive safely. Kyo looked at Aaron, he knew that he wouldn't be able to fight them on his own...now was not the time to worry about the future when the present was in danger. "Aaron, get behind me." Kyosuke said, pushing his glasses up. "Kyosuke...are you going to be alright?" Aaron asked, getting to his feet. "Of course. I have no choice but to take action, i've come this far and i have to solidify my status. I won't have any more casualties either." Kyosuke grabbed the chakrams from his back and approached the group of mages, he counted 8 in all. He split the chakrams into two and readied his attack formation when all of a sudden armed soldiers came in support of the mages and fired on the two students. Kyo and Aaron jumped toward different directions to take cover. Kyo looked over some barrels and kept his cool as he started to recomprise his strategy. Some marines from another transport started to give some cover fire for them, that diverted some of the soldier's attention while the mages began to bombard the area with fire bombs. Kyo extended his hand and began to cool the air particles in the area between him and Aaron. He soldified it into a wall of ice, slightly translucent as it reflected the silhouettes of the soldiers. The mages concentrated fire on the wall, as it took multiple blasts to finally bring it down. They approached the area but the two students were gone. "Huh? Where are they...?" one of the soldiers said, looking around the area. Their train of thought was interuppted by two chakrams wizzing by their heads, as 2 mages fell from puncture wounds with the chakrams still in them. One of the mages looked down and tried to pull it out. What caught his eye however was the spikes on the chakram were coated in ice for some reason. The soldier became wide eyed as the spikes of ice shot out from the chakrams and impaled the remaining 6 mages, catching them off guard. The soldiers guarding the mages began to fire in random directions but still did not see anybody. Kyo looked out from behind a wall and smirked at the fluition of his plan. The ice wall merely served as a distraction which allowed him and Aaron to move to a better vantage point. Aaron and Kyo looked at each other and nodded in agreement as they hugged the wall toward a bunker behind the soldiers. They hadn't travelled far as the remaining two members of E6 were still in sight, Kyosuke had no intention of going on without them since splitting the team up so widely was a strategic fallacy for this situation. Another group of soldiers came to reinforce the area, about 25 of them added to the 8-10 soldiers who served as the mage's guard. Kyo and Aaron hurried their jump into the bunker and sat there for a few seconds. "The beach is flooded with soldiers, it was unfortunate for us to be one of the last transports to arrive" Aaron said as he surveyed the area from below. "You're right, this is wasting a lot of time. We still have to meet up with J2 to assist them. I'll have to expedite the process of clearing these soldiers out so E6 can move on to the real objective." Kyosuke answered as he took his cross in his hand. He had seen it's power, but he had never tested it for himself. It was all he needed however. His father may be a joker at times but if there was one thing he could say about him it would be that he's never lied. Kyosuke's father told him that the Chimerageist would serve him no matter what. Now faced with a large group of soldiers and clearly outnumbered it was the perfect time to give it a go. "Now...Chimerageist...show yourself and smite down those who would impede my victory!" Kyosuke shouted as he concentrated his energy on the cross. The cross shone a bright white light and the form of the Chimerageist manifested itself infront of them. Aaron watched in amazement as he had never seen such a creature before. The summoned beast looked down at Kyosuke, puffs of smoke and frost emitting from it's nostrils, his double snake tail electrified. Kyosuke narrowed his eyes and stood infront of it. "Clear them out...all of them." Kyosuke said, now possessed with the idea of accomplishing his goals. The beast tilted it's central head and grunted. "STUPID BOY! DO NOT ADDRESS ME WITH SUCH DISRESPECT!" The chimerageist answered, leaving a bewildered look on both Kyosuke and Aaron's faces.
Tekkaman
Arron immediately grabbed his Rapier, his joints locking up at the seemingly infinite height of the Chimerageist. He yelled to Kyosuke, too afraid to move at the sight of such a creature. "Please! Tell me that YOU are in control of the beast, and not the other way around!" "I can handle it!" Kyosuke yelled back towards Aaron. "He just needs to get to know me!" "Well, with all due respect," Aaron stated, "You picked the perfect time to bring out an unstoppable creture of f**king destruction and it doesn't even know you!" Kyosuke lowered his head, knowing Aaron was right. After all, the teachers used to state that you should practice with magic first before going into combat with it. Please, listen! I need you to clear out all of these enemies for me and my team. A tear, noticible only to Kyo's summon, escaped Kyosuke's eye. "Please..." Kyosuke repeated, almost inaudible. the Chimerageist said nothing to Kyosuke, nor did it look at Aaron and Blaize, turning around and dispatching of Kyosuke's enemies with ease. Though the enemies tried to stop the seemingly invincible creature, they only pissed the beast off even more. Fire, ice, razor sharp winds, electric, and flying earth exploded in all directions from the Chimerageist's repeated attacks, Kyo and the others taking cover behind a close building to avoid being an unintended casualty from the elements of destruction. Soon after they took cover, blood spewed erratically from the Chimerageist's attacks, a enemy soldier's head rolling and stopping at their location behind the building. As the three students looked at the head, a razor-like wind cut the paperweight in half. It split into two, blood leaking from the source. The face wasn't even recognizable anymore. Blaize hurled while Kyo's jaw dropped. The lifeless body toppled over, onto the black beach. Alex heard the sound of gunfire too close for comfort, and relying on instinct, he ducked behind some ruined walls. The rest of his group did the same, and they breathed heavily as they waited for the gunfire to die away. When it did, they went out fast, more of a mass than an organized squad. They turned a corner, hoping that the entrance to the Underground would be near. Instead, they found a group of Archadians with their guns pointed right at him. They would have been killed if a building hadn?t collapses onto the Archadian soldiers. ?This is so screwed up?? No one disagreed with her. Tekkaman
After the destruction of the enemy troops; Aaron, Kyosuke and Blaize removed their stiff bodies from the - now - crumbling wall - their salvation from the chaos of the Chimerageist. Kyo looked at his cross after looking at the decimated ground past the wall - blood and ash covering the once hectic battlefield; Kyo couldn't believe that the cross his father gave him contained so much power. As Aaron looked around, Lazarus was nowhere to be seen; Aaron, becoming perturbed, turned to Kyo in dissapointment. "You... need to control the C-H-I-M-E-R... you know what I mean! Control that thing!" Aaron pointed to the summon while staring at Kyo. Aaron didn't wait for a response from him as he turned to Blaize. "You need to shape up in terms of your sarcastic nature! We're in a war and I hope you understand what that means! we could die at any moment!" Aaron tried to sound as serious as possible. "Just look at what that beast did to the enemy soilders! That could've been us!" As Aaron said those words, Blaize looked around the battlefield; The sarcastic student began staring at the bodies of those who died at Kyo's summon. the thoughts and the images made him queasy again, though Aaron continued talking. "And both of you... I need more input. In times of planning and times of stress, we -as a team - need to talk about what we need to do next, how we'll go about it, whatever. All I want from you two is cooperation in terms of this war! Even if we are the only ones fighting and planning; the four of us need to plan and fight to the best of our abilities." Aaron had never sounded so serious and quite frankly, didn't know he had it in him to be so demanding. Aaron was frusterated, to say the least, and wanted this war to be over with already. "And where the hell is Lazarus?!" Aaron shouted, now becoming angry. ==========O========== OOC: Hopefully (For all of you who no longer post as often, if ever), my in-character post reflects how I feel regarding this RP out-of-character. Darth Vectis
Blaize looked at the sheer carnage of the battlefield. The bodys strewn about the bloodied ground and hardly any of the corpses were whole. Most of them had been torn to shreds, pieces of flesh and cartalage was thrown all over the place and bone was exposed to the open air. Organs and entrails were spewed all over the land, hardly anything made from nature showed through the blood and organs. Most of the organs weren't even intact, they were smashed, torn apart, gashed open or some other horrible thing was done to them. The thing that got to him the most was how unprepared he was for such gore and bloodshed. He was the classic form of a spolied street punk who acted when said he would, but had never really seen such destruction. He closed his eyes and started taking deep breaths, trying to calm his nerves and to get a grip. He squeezed his shotgun which caused his muscles to contract and the arm band to tighten. He inhaled and exhaled slowly. 'Just relax, you knew this what you were gonna have to see and experience to be a true Risk Breaker. Now go do what your good at you fool.' Blaize opened his eyes slowly and exhaled heavily one last time. He thought a moment about what Aaron had said about Lazuras, but quickly disregaded it. He cared little for the depressed fool who thought he was tough. He looked around through the corpses and saw something he knew he could use. He crouch walked over to a nearby corpse, Aaron saw him move off and started yelling at him to get back to their position. Blaize ignored him while he progressivly over to his target, he soon came to a stop and found what he saw a few moments ago. He reached down and picked it up, finding a classic M24 SWS sniper rifle, he then searched the corpse for extra ammo, after finding some he turned quickly and hustled back to Aaron and Kyo. He pressed his back against their cover and then leaned forward, putting his shotgun over his shoulder. He loaded the rifle then slowly looked over the edge of this cover through the scope, and slowly surveyed the land. Aaron yelled at him, demanding information. Blaize spoke as he continued to look through the scope. "I am not just trained in close quarters, I am also trained in long range sniping techniques. I can pick people off easy, now, what kind of plan do you have 'team'?" Blaize said in his sarcastic and mocking tone as he kept his eyes on the field.
