Retribution
I absolutely despise cottage cheese, as it's Satan in a container. It's spoiled milk, packaged, sealed, and sold to the foolish masses. Perhaps its the fact that I don't generally like dairy products. Perhaps its the fact that I don't generally eat spoiled products. Horendithas
I love cottage cheese. I always have some in my fridge along with baby carrots, green peppers, tomatoes and all sorts of veggies as they go so good together. And lets not forget cottage cheese and crackers. Definitely one of my favorite snacks. I even have a little fabric lunch box with blue ice so that I can carry cottage cheese in a container along with various veggies with me to work and school. In fact it makes a yummy breakfast as well, much better than plain cereal. As for it being spoiled, if you stop and think about it, there are plenty of things we eat that aren?t exactly fresh but processed in some manner and in this case, it?s a delicious result. Fyxe
Who cares if it's spoiled? It tastes good. There are far more things that we eat that sounds gross, but everyone keeps eating. Take McDonalds for example. It just shows that we are fat. I enjoy me some cottage cheese. I eat it whenever I get a chance. It tastes simply delicious when you eat it with baked beans. That's a meal for me, right there. Whenever I see cottage cheese in the fridge, I eat it. So, on a slightly different note. Has anyone made homemade cottage cheese?
chaos Alvis
I don't really like cottage cheese. It's like eating raw melted cheese in a plastic container. Yuck!. Though, my mom always buys it," eat it its good for you!". BLEH. Not good for me. The first time i had it i barfed, it was when i was in preschool. My final thoughts about cottage cheese: its bad and i dont like it.

Dhampir
Ah, one of my favorites. I have been eating cottage cheese since I was little, and I have never lost my taste for it. As Molleta said the strange texture just makes it more enjoyable. Dinner, lunch, breakfeast... entree or side, it doesn't matter. My two favorite ways to eat it are with applesauce or as a sandwich. Two peices of buttered bread, one slice of chese, and about as much cottage chese as you can put on it. My only catch about cottage cheese, is that for some reason I can't eat it without a lot of salt, but otherwise it is an almost perfect food. eleanor
Cottage cheese + random fruit= best snack ever. In terms of taste and nutrition... cottage cheese is amazing. I used to hate it but after a while of my mom forcing me to eat it I learned to love it. I usually eat it as a late-night snack or for dinner when I'm not feeling too hungry. Sara
I eat cottage cheese every day up at school. It's one of those things on the salad bar that are just good, and you can eat it with [strike]nearly[/strike] anything. On sandwiches, with cereal, with canned fruit, with fresh fruit, on pizza, with potato chips, with spaghetti, with veggies, on baked potatos, on toast, in soup, with jello, on salad... You can substitute it for yogurt or sour cream, and it is cool, tangy, and delicious. Unless you're lactose intolerant (and even that is a grey area), there is seriously no excuse for disliking cottage cheese. My dad put it in this cheesey noodle cassorole stuff that we have during Lent and I got sick. So after that I swore off lumpy cheeses. As I've grown and done babysitting jobs I've found that baby spit up has the same consistancy of cottage cheese they also smell about the same. So while my family can eat all the slimey plastic packaged cheese they want- I'm just gonna avoid it all together. And I'm still trying to figure out why my daughter likes it. For that matter I also can't stand split pea soup. That stuff makes my stomach churn.

SunfallE
Cottage cheese is a love and then hate type of food for me. I hate eating it by itself, but I love how it tastes with crackers and different vegetables. I also think it tastes great on baked potatoes. The biggest problem is I?m allergic to the sugar in dairy products so if I eat it by itself it ends up making me sick, but when I mix it with other stuff, it?s yummy and the other food balances things out enough that it doesn?t make me sick. Probably the only think I do different is I get the low fat cottage cheese instead of the regular. Not the fat free as that stuff is gross, but the one in-between. I?m assuming it?s something to do with my allergy, as I do not like the full rich creamy taste to dairy products. The same goes for milk I always get one percent or fat free milk for the same reason. I just abhor the creamy taste of regular diary products.
DBZgirl88
I was introduced to cottage and sour cream at the same time at about 9 years old here in Canada. I remember me and my brother loved cottage cheese had had cottage cheese sandiwiches half the time, while our older sister fell in love with sour cream. My tastes change as a grow and I really don't care for cottage cheese any more. It's okay I guess, but I don't eat it anymore. My mom uses it mostly for lasagna. But who needs cottage cheese anyway when you got cheddar? :animesmil
Pumpkin
I use to eat cottage cheese all the time when I was younger especially when my mother packed me lunches. It's suppose to be pretty healthy for you, if you just ignore what it is. It's like steak is from a dead animal, but no one ever really thinks about that the red stuff on your plate is blood from one. I'm sure if you saw the animal slaughtered you would feel differently. Anyways, I've watched acouple shows where people use cottage cheese in a lot of diet plans. My dad went on Atkins and he use to mix it with hamburger (yes, I know you all are feeling very sick right about now) but I've tried just eating it for a week and you really do lose a lot of weight. I can't believe how many people haven't ever tried it before, seeing as how I use to have it with everything (noodles, etc.) and the amount of people who don't enjoy it. Personally, I still like the taste of cottage cheese, I might not be crazy about it but if its in the fridge and I'm hungry it doesn't really matter to me. I agree with CHW on one thing too, raw mushrooms can be good but with ranch dressing. Ranch can do wonders.
Aaryanna
So long as it?s not by itself Cottage Cheese is great. ^_^ It?s good with veggies and even raw sliced mushrooms. (Raw sliced mushrooms are yummy!) And it makes a great snack with all types of crackers. Probably my favorite way to have cottage cheese is mixed with dill pickles and eaten with Fritos corn chips. It?s a bit weird but ever so tasty. ^_^

And on the topic of salad bars, that is where I am a cottage cheese artist. The best way to eat cottage cheese is to add bacon bits, dill relish, shredded cheddar cheese (mmm... eating cheese with cheese) and a little bit of sunflower seeds. Then you grab a couple dozen packs of crackers and scoop up this wonderful cottage cheese creation one cracker-full at a time. Also, mixing cottage cheese with salsa is amazing. For all those out there who don't eat cottage cheese because it's a "spoiled" food, I have a question for you. Do you drink alcohol? And isn't all cheese "spoiled" to some degree?
