Writing Story Songs [PG]

[color=Indigo][size=1][font=Arial]Okay, so I totally just got all inspired and crap, and had the best idea [i]ever[/i]. No, that's a lie. But the idea I had was pretty awesome anyway, and appealed to me, so I figured it might appeal to other people as well.

Basically, pick a song - your favourite song, something off the radio, whatever comes up first in WinAmp, whatever - and write a short piece (think less than 500 words) using it as inspiration (bonus points for using part of the lyrics, too). It's like 55 Fiction with more describing words, except you don't have to think about subject matter! ...much. So without further ado, this is what I figured would make a cool opener.

"What will I do without you?" I looked at the floor. My heart was breaking deep in my chest, but I ignored it.

"Live till you die," I said quietly. A loud sob escaped her and she burst into tears. I reached over and held her hand. It;s funny, because a lot of the songs I listen to are already part of a story... but I'll do one anyway. I hope this gets popular.

[COLOR=DarkSlateBlue]He lay on the bedroom floor, clenching his legs lightly to his chest. Summer's heat suffocated the room, but he paid it no mind. His eyes were fixated solitarily ahead, his mind finally devoid of thought. A steady stream of drool slid across his cheek.

"Hello..." a voice struck theough the blankness. They found him in a giant sweatshirt and baggy sweatpants, bathing in a pool of blue moonlight.

"Is anybody in there?" Waving their hand in front of his eyes, they saw that he had no reaction. A pulse still surged through him.

"Is there anyone at home"

"his vitals are still fine." To him the voices were detatched. Floating through the air without direction.

"Look, I've heard you're feeling down... but we need you up. I need the basic facts, can you show me where it hurts?" He did not react. They shook his body and yelled into his ear, but he merely lay there, his hair cascading across the floor,strands stuck to his cheeks by tears and saliva.

A memory trailed through his mind... as a child... I had a fever once...

His thought came out in half-formed words. "Don't try to talk, buddy, just take this shot. Just a little pinprick... there'll be no more aaaa, but you may feel a little sick." They injected him with some strange medicine.He lept from his dreamlike state and called out.

"Good, good, you're up, it's time to go." The men lifted him and dragged him off.

He stared into the distance as the men dragged him along. With a blink his senses came back to him in a torrent of pain. For several minutes he writhed and chocked in the back of the truck. Finally he sat up strait and looked around, realizing he was alive.[/COLOR]

Mines not far from the movie, but, whatever.

It was in these desperate moments that the young girl had realized the answer to her internal struggle; she could find peace within herself. Up until then, she had been fighting off countless numbers of the enemy. There were several injuries scattered across her weakened, lithe frame and she knew that she wouldn't last much longer.

[B]"Stop!"[/B] A demanding voice beckoned and they all cleared in the midst of the battle. [B]"She's mine."

"So, you've found me."[/B] She said, eyes still alert for any attempted ambush.

[B]"Tis a shame what has happened to you."[/B] A man stepped forward, pointing to a scar on the girl's neck in the shape of a bite.

[B]"I guess you could say that I've hit a low that my mother couldn't when she was with you."[/B] She smirked. [B]"What I have done is of my own free will, there's no reason to explain to the likes of you."

"But you are here for my blood, are you not?"[/B] The man asked.

[B]"I could say that, or I could say that I just don't care anymore. But it would seem fitting that I take you down with me, Allister."

"That's the fire that I've been looking for. I have you to thank, little Ena. I shall not die an unfullfilled man."

"Let's get started, shall we?"[/B] Ena asked, a wicked smirk curled on her face.

She slammed her already bloodied fist into the wall beside his head. Her eyes burning with a rage that had never seemed to quiet down. Unlike his eyes, which were a calm blue that always tried to quiet the roaring red rage. A bruise was already forming around his eye and blood slid quietly down his face from the wound above his other eye.

Her breathing was labored as his was still even. Sobs began to escape as tears slowly make a path down her pale face. The fist near his head slipped quietly to her side as she started at him with her crimson eyes. He pulled her into a gentle hug even as she tried to push him away.

"Why!" She screamed into his chest as she started to claw at his back.

His silence only seemed to further her rage, but was quickly turned to tears.

"Why...why do you have to be so loving. I don't want your pity...I don't want your feelings of love and apperciation. I've hurt you so much..I've absued you! Why..why won't you hate me!" Some of her words were drowned out by her sobs but he could still understand.

He continued to hold her close as her breathing became more calm and her fury turned into a small fire that would remain till something else set it off. They both slid to the floor as tears fell from his eyes...not in pain, but in relief. [/FONT] [/COLOR]

I saw their posters. "Get em' dead or alive," they said. I thought they couldn't touch me. That all the bounty hunters in the country couldn't track me down and bring me in. How wrong I was. No more escaping, no more running, this time the lawman'll see me dead for sure.

As I sit here in my cold cell, so far from home, I have but one regret; moma, I'm sorry. I can hear you crying, so scared and all alone, but don't fear. Carry on as if nothing really matters. You must be strong, even if I can't be there to protect you.

The hangman is coming down from the gallows now. I can hear his heavy footfalls as he approaches my cell. He's dragging me too my feet and carrying me out into the harsh light - light I havn't seen in days - and the harsh crowd, chanting with anticipation.

The renegade who had it made, retrieved for a bounty. Never more to go astray, this'll be the end to today, of the wanted man. [/COLOR]

"Blast it, this damn machine!" Captain Mayo looked frantically around at his troops who were all flippind toggles trying to return the starship to normal. Slowly, the ship began to sink out of the clouds. An admiral screamed into the intercom.

"SOMEONE! SAVE US!" Behind them, in the cargo hold, their prisoner was fuming with rage. With relative ease, he snapped the chain of his handcuffs. A green glow surrounded him as his power began to awaken The soldier keeping gard over him pissed himself as the prisoner's chest split open, allowin a huge parasite to escape.

"Monstar..." the man muttered. Their prisoner cried out in pain as his body was shed.

[I]Remember when we were young?[/I] His life began to flash before his eyes. He could see all the photographs of times past.

"Oh dear god..." he muttered, "I don't... feel alive!" The beast fully threw itself from his chest and directly at the guard, biting into his neck enough to sever his head. It shot like a bullet int the cockpit and began slaughtering all the crew. Mayo merely glared in disdain. Once it had killed everyone else, the beast turned to Mayo. His eyes widened as it triggered his fear.

"I am your god," the beast said. Just then, the ship crashed in a burning explosion.

Coheed, the prisoner, lay bleeding in the wreckage. His life continued to play out for him.

"Kill me..." he begged. The monstar, emerging from the wreckage, spread its arms eagle wide and in a silent burst, eradicated the entire solar system.[/COLOR]

NOTE: This is meant to be the part of the story taking place in this song, just my interpritation.

I passed by my girlfriend's window, and I saw the light, the flickering shadow of love on the blinds. She was in there with someone else, another man was with her, with my girlfriend, the only one I had loved in years.

As she betrayed me I watched and went out of my mind.

I waited there all night, and even thought I could see that girl was no good for me, I wanted her, I needed her. I loved her. I was like a slave to her love.

At daybreak, when he drove away, I walked over to the door. She opened it. She stood there laughing at me. I couldn't stand it. She told me I wasn't half the man he was, that I didn't even compare to him. Apparently I was only with her because she wanted money, and I had enough of it.

She laughed and laughed, and I went into the kitchen. Things were a blur, and soon I felt the knife in my hand. She laughed no more.

I sat, shivering, in the corner of the kitchen, her blood covering the floor. Tears ran down my face.

Sirens in the distance. I just knew they were coming for me. The police, the Ambulance, anyone who was coming would find me and I would go down for a long time.

So, before they come to break down the door, forgive me, Delilah, I just couldn't take any more...
