cancer
First of all, no, this is not a game. It is actually about the subject of conversation. For some people, conversation is easy and fun. For others, it is difficult or bothersome. So I want to know, how do you start conversation? How do you keep conversation going when the uncomfortable silence comes in? And how do you break the ice when first meeting someone? I don't always have trouble with conversation, but more often than not I feel like I am boring to talk to in person, especially when talking to someone who is not a close friend of mine. Does anyone else have this problem?

Sojiro47
Well, I just sort of talk to them. I'm not so good at breaking the ice, but once it's broken, thing are fine. I've been through more than any 16 year old should have been through, so talking about stuff is easy. The only things I can't talk about are sports and girls periods. I'm sorry, I just can't do it. It's beyond me. ^_~
Guest DamagedTime
If I'm in a room with no one I know I frist look at how everyone one acts and then I decided who would be the person I would be able to talk to the easiest and possibly have a good conversation with. Or I could tell the people who I despise the way the act that I despise they way they act and find someone who thinks the same but wasn't as bold to say it. That one works well. Mr. Maul
Seeing as how I hate people (in general), this really isn't a problem for me. But when it does finally come around to breaking the ice, I have a retarded joke that never seems to fail. What happened when the polar bear stepped out onto the frozen lake? It broke the ice. Hi, my name's ________. Latharix_sama
If I feel like I'm too nervous or shy to start a conversation, I just don't do it. If they want to talk to me, they can. However, that is usually not the case. I love to break the ice. I either say something completely random and offbeat at a loud volume, or I physically start a conversation by doing something that I know makes people uncomfortable: I come up from behind them and give them a biiiiiiiig hug! :3 The best phrase to break the ice, in my opinion? "Yes, hallo, I am currently pondering the whereabouts of my [insert name of article of clothing or strange being], have you seen it/them?"
