Ezekiel
Golden Sands Arc One A sun that seemed too heavy for the early morning sky slowly dragged it?s way above the horizon. It?s burning red beams showed all too clearly what was to follow in the following days. The Meram army were already close to Hades to join with their new allies, the Yarou, and their secret weapon the Black Mage. The almighty spirit of destruction that would no doubt wipe the Malroy off the face of this earth with one simple gesture. The Meram in their everlasting arrogance of course assumed that they could control the Black Mage Dimma. They never suspected that he would easily turn against them, if it suited him. The Mage General paced in his office as his troops assembled in the courtyard at the base of his tower, a pinnacle of hope in the desert city of the Malroy people. General Zerstoren was already out in the dunes, his army spread before him as he explained what was most likely to come. They were scared; every one of them, but courage was something the Malroy had in greater amounts than any other race. A little outside the desert city, a woman clad in white robes trekked across the dunes with a blue Chai, her hand resting on it?s smooth feathers. She squinted across the sand to see the city, smiling as she knew her destination was nearer. Far across the desert in the lands of ice and snow, a small cluster of Urla people had assembled, Sergei Sokolov on his Great Bear leading them through the blizzard currently attacking the mountain pass. Garrek Flynt, one of the few soldiers who had volunteered, trekked behind the polar bear, his head down as the wind beat against his cloak. The Urla were brave people, but not stupid. They would only go to fight when and if the Malroy needed them desperately. These few people making the long, hard journey felt like they had made a promise to their allies, and knew that they would do the same. The people of Hades waited, some of the soldiers already banging the war drums, which could no doubt be heard on the surface of the earth. They cheered and howled with joy at the thought of more bloodshed, the image of it staining the sand driving them into a battle frenzy, which the Meram had no doubt been counting on. The sun paced its way gently across the sky, and the world held its breath. As you can see, we?re pretty much all starting in different clusters. I?m glad there?s such a variety of characters, as it makes this first section so much easier on everyone. This first part will be short, a sort of preparation to what is to come. At the end of this, a messenger will come from the Meram/Hades alliance to tell Mordred and Zerstoren of the planned attack, and we?ll pretty much take it from there. Just to make it clear what everyone is doing, here are your ?locations?. Hades- Revelation, Epsilon Urla Mountains- Keyblade Wielder, Blayze, Jokopoko Malroy Desert- Engel, Billy Shears, Eclipse Mages Courtyard- DeathKnight, Sakura, JJ, Ezekiel. Kitty, I hope you don?t mind where I put you. You?re the only Hanka, but you can get into the city pretty quick and meet with Mordred if you like. I know you?re a fantastic writer, so you?ll come up with something. ^_~ Hope that?s clear enough for everyone. If you have any questions/suggestion (or if I?ve made a mistake, gah), please post it in the Underground. Thanks so much for your wonderful sign ups everyone, let?s have some fun.
Billy Shears
Haris woke up in the morning nervous and tired. He got barely any sleep because today, he was to go to the courtyard of the Mage General. The remaining troops that weren't already out in the desert were to meet there. He got up from his bed and walked over to his uniform, folded tidily on the desk in his room. He quickly put it on and combed his hair neatly. Seeing himself in the mirror dressed as a member of the Malroy army gave him a sense of pride. He was revered as anything sepcial in his childhood, so seeing himself like this was almost a blessing to him. He smiled. Haris walked back to his bed and sat on the edge. "Dasia..." Haris stirred his wife. "Hey...Dasia. Can you wake up?" His wife slowly opened her eyes. "Wh-what? Oh, ok. Just give me a second, I'll cook you breakfast. Hang on..." Dasia rubbed her eyes and slowly plodded towards her dresser. She threw off her nightgown and was dressed and ready for the day in a few seconds. Haris got up and grabbed his wife by her hips. She put her arm around him, while he gave her a kiss on her forehead. The tears welled in her eyes. "You know how much I hate you right?" She smiled and giggled a bit when she said that, along with Haris. He didn't say anything, he just walked out of the room and into the kitchen. Sitting at the table, his dog Artie came up and sniffed his hand. "What?" He patted the dog on his head. Artie was a black labrador with deep blue eyes. Artie laid down on the floor and rolled on his back. Haris scratched his belly with his foot. "You don't want me to go either?" The dog licked his jaws and stood up. Haris got close to his face and scratched his chin. Artie licked Haris's face and walked away. "What would you like?" Daisa was standing in the door to the kitchen. Haris admired his wife while she stood there. Dasia was a beautiful woman. Her hair was a dark red, which contrasted well with her dark green eyes. Her face was slim and dotted with some freckles, but no other blemish lay on her milky white skin. Her body was slim and perfectly proportioned. Haris smiles everytime he sees, let alone thinks of her. "Uh... I'm not really that hungry." Haris looked down at the kitchen table and yawned. "Can I fix you eggs or something?" Haris looked up again and nodded, smiling. "Good, 'cause I'm not letting you leave hungry. You'll get a headache and throw up in that ungodly heat." Aside from being beautiful, she waws a perfect match for Haris. She was a serious person, which contrasted with Haris and his normally goofy attitude, but he always wanted a woman like that. He was an assertive person, she was more passive. In no way was she a weak woman, but she would let things slide more than Haris. He always thought about how different life would be withou her. "In the four years we've been married, has it ever mattered to you what I do for a living?" Dasia was at the stove now, stirring the yolk, obviously tired. "Not really, why?" Haris stared at the table, unable to justify his question immediatly. "I...just don't, please, think less of me if I kill someone, because I'll lose it." He was about to cry, his lip quivering from his heartfelt confession. "No. I couldn't. I could never think less of you, regardless of your actions. I may not agree, but it wouldn't affect the love I have for you. When I said I hated you, it was a joke. I don't mean it..." She walked up beside him and flung her arms around his neck, kissing his cheek. Haris started to cry. "I don't even know why I joined up with that goddamn army. I hate being separated from you..." Dasia kissed him again. "If we want a family, we need the money. If it means making sacrifices, we need to do whatever we can. It is a big deal, if you get hurt, but it's for our own good. I hate the fact of you leaving too, but what else are we gonna do? You were making chump change at that quarry." Haris wiped his eyes, red from crying. Dasia started to cry along with him. "I love you." Haris kissed his wife. Then, his face went sour as he sniffed the air. "Uh-oh..." "The eggs!" The skillet was on fire now. Dasia grabbed some water and threw it on the fire. "My god..." She started cracking up. The eggs were black and almost dust. "Let me see..." Haris groaned, playfully. "Do I still gotta eat 'em?" Dasia laughed even harder. Haris had put on a puppy dog face. "No, we're not that poor." She opened up a window and scraped the remanents of the eggs into the grass. "I'll just pick something up in the city." Dasia nodded. Haris gathered up all his things. "So you'll be on your way?" "...yeah." Haris kissed his wife good-bye. She teared up as they kissed. "Good-bye..." Haris walked out of the door and started off towards the city. He thought about why he was being ordered to the Mage General's tower. If this was his notice that he would be in battle soon, it would be heartbreaking to his wife. He knew he was going to see battle, but he didn't know when. Haris feard the worst as the sun beat down on the ground with his every step. He held his breath... --- ...finally finished. Hope it is ok.
JJ
Malika paced her room uncontrollably. A gathering at the General?s Tower had been called and Malika was sure she didn?t want to know exactly why. As she continued pacing, she heard the voice outside the door and stopped. Why would anyway be walking past her door? Malika?s curiosity overtook her worry as she cracked open the door and peered around. The hallway was empty again, but Malika could still hear the vague sound of footsteps coming down one of the hallways. ?To follow, or not to follow?? Malika asked herself. ?You?d best not.? A voice answered her, causing her to fall forward and open the door fully. ?Who the?? Malika started as she got up and dusted herself off. ?Malika, if you stick your nose where it doesn?t belong, you might lose it. How many times have I told you that?? The voice replied, starring sternly at Malika. Malika looked up into the eyes of her friend and half brother Jalik. She smiled at him and shut the door to her room. ?Yes, but there?s no fun in not sticking my nose where it doesn?t belong.? ?Fun will get you killed dear sister. Besides, you and I should be outside the General?s Tower right now.? Jalik mentioned ?Oh hush. You know as well as I what?s going to be said. Blah Blah Blah..War?Blah Blah Blah?our power?s needed and so on. It?s the same as last year. I don?t need a motivation speech or anything to that extent to know that we?re going to fight and win.? Malika shot back. ?How can you be so sure? Maybe we?ll be staying out of this conflict?? Jalik started. ?Are you out of your mind? Should I send you to the infirmary?? Malika asked, laying her hand on his forehead. ?No, that is quite alright. I?m fine, I promise.? ?Oh! So then you?ve got inside intel? You?d better spill or I?ll summon Smog?? Malika trailed off. ?I don?t know anything and if you summon that blasted dragon I will destroy it and you.? Jalik responded. ?You need to go, I?m going now and I expect to see you there when the General starts talking. Understood?? Malika did nothing as Jalik turned and walked back down the hallway he came from. Malika watched solemnly and disappeared back into her room. ?Should I actually listen to Jalik for once, or just ignore him?? Malika grabbed her staff from it?s resting place beside her bed and polished the crystal on top with her robes. Well, at least she could catch some other mages and ask their help with the little problem she?d be having with her summoning spells?
DeathKnight
The soft light of the morning sun peppered through the closed blinds, the soft cry of a carrion bird broke the serenity of the morning. Crow looked up from the papers he had been reading and glanced to the Girl, "How much longer until that gathering starts?" The Girl let out a soft sigh before she spoke, "Less than ten minutes, Crow." "Oh." Crow blinked and rubbed his chin in thought, "It's already this late?" "I've been saying th-.." The Girl stopped and shook her head deciding against what she was about to say, ".. Yes. Shall we get going?" "Yes. I guess we shouldn't be too tardy." He set the paperwork down onto his desk and stood. He walked to his closet and took out his hooded, black overcoat and put it on, straightening it out a bit as he did. Appearances rarely mattered but this was a rare occasion by all definitions. Events were in motion, events that were leading to a familiar outcome- War. The Girl looked him over, a hint of surprise in her face. She gestured to him, "You're looking rather professional today, Crow." A smile broke over Crow's face and he nodded, "Unusual, eh. Sign of the atmosphere I expect today." The Girl was quiet and tilted her head to the side, "What the General said.." She trailed off, thinking about the private conversation Crow had with the General just a few days prior. "We'll survive." Crow patted the small doll on the head, his face more solemn than usual. "That's all we can do. That's all the Mages can do, or Zer' can do or the General can do. Fight on for our country, our ideals and our civilians back home. And we do it well, we fight very well. I'm speaking honestly when I say we'll all live through this.. not just for ourselves, but for all of the things I mentioned. Alright, little one?" The Girl meekly nodded, "Yes." She said softly. "Alright." He mussed up her hair a bit and grinned, "Let's get going."
Kitty
"C'mon Blue. Almost there." Ahndra knew her companion was exhausted, but her own tiredness had fleeted at the sight of the city. She had travelled for so long, even she had forgotten when they had left home. But now she was excited, and with her energy had returned, nothing was going to stop her from getting into the city of the Malroy. She turned back to her feathered mount which, curiously, was not being used as such at the moment, and tugged gently on his reins. He stopped in his tracks, jerking her back with him. "Don't give up on me now," she urged, taking another tug at the reins in her hand. "Think of it this way. There's plenty of water in the city." Her encouraging smile and the promise of water melted the creature's stubborness, and the two picked up their pace. Nearly an hour of walking later, the two of them strode casually into the busy streets of the city. Ahndra was in awe of the size of the crowd more than anything. Rarely had she seen so many people in one place before. "Amazing..." she whispered to herself. Without warning, she was suddenly pushed over, being caught quickly by Blue. A young boy was rushing past and she had been shoved aside for being in his path. "Sorry!" she called after him, but she doubted her apology was heard. Shaking it off, she resumed her trek through the large street, searching for the man she had contacted about assisting the Malroy effort. "Now, what was his name...?" she thought aloud, though more aware of the people around her now. "Mage General Sársauki! He said to look for his tower and courtyard. So... Where would it be?" Blue nudged at her arm in an attempt to get her attention, but she waved him off, insisting that she had to concentrate on finding the tower. But she was looking in the wrong direction, and Blue had spotted a large building that could possibly be that tower, so he continued to pester her until she finally acknowledged him, albeit a bit frustrated. "What is it, already?" she mumbled angrily. Blue shook his head in the direction of the tower. ".. Oh." She paused for a moment before raising an eyebrow and grinning at her unusually colored companion. "Outsmarting me in public, hmm?" Ahndra's conversation with Blue had garnered the awareness of some pedestrians around them, but it took a moment for her to realize she was being stared at. Once she did, she coughed uncomfortably, her face turning a deep shade of pink, and hastily walked off. The sooner she met with the Mage General, the better.
ooc :: Sorry my post is short. D: ... Okay, it's really short. Really, really short. But I didn't have a chance to post before this thing seemingly died, so I'm trying to revive it (despite my lack of inspiration =3=). Sorry if you guys wanted this to stay dead. o3o (But who would?)
Revelation
Sounds of drums beating, joyful screeching, and repeating chanting resounded all throughout the air. The air was thick with lust- bloodlust. Dimma sat in a black chair decorated with snakes coiling around it- a symbol of Hades- with his head in his hands; he was growing tiresome of waiting for the Meram army yet he knew destruction and chaos would come in good time. With a sigh, Dimma got up from his seat and began to walk down the hall. The shadows moved quickly ahead of him, whispering as they did. No one really knew what the shadows were but those who lived in the castle didn?t mind, they felt a strange alliance with it as it did with them. The doors to Dimma?s room opened upon his coming. He walked to the windows and opened them wide, letting in the eerie sounds fill his room. ?The day?s finally come, little brother. There?s no turning back now.? ?Indeed there isn?t, Black Mage.? Turning around, Dimma had found the General?s assistant standing in the doorway. She was slender with radiating beauty, but there was an air of fear and the rank stench of Hades that wrapped around her. ?The General is waiting for you in the meeting room? we all are.? Looking out his window, Dimma knew that he was their last resort, their only hope to victory. OOC: Sorry it?s so short and so late, Jamie. ^_^;;
