I do, I'm very active over at MyOtaku, myself. I know a few others as well.

But no, I do not believe EVERY LAST ONE OF US has an account at MyO, nor does everyone at MyO have an account here. I also know some started here then got a MyO account, and vice versa. I fall into the latter category myself.

I'm also a very active myotaku user. I started out from there when I was randomly searching for anime quizzes on google. I don't think everyone has a myotaku but then again I could be wrong. There are like how many sites going around for myotaku???...Anyways just wanted you to know! ^.~ I also have a few friends who are consistanly on this site so yeah. ^.^

I came to the OB first and got a MyO later on. I used to be quite active with an account I had previously. But that was about two years ago. I erased that account because I never used it. A few months ago, I got a new MyO because it's very hard to do things around theOtaku without one.

But I never use my new one now. So, eh.
just wondering if everyone person on otkauboards had a myotaku account. or would it be better describe vise versa.
The simple answer is "neither". And as Charles pointed out, most myO users have their account connected in the postbit.

Simple question; simple answer; no further discussion to be had, methinks. Thread closed.

Anyway, on topic (for at least a little while), the userbases overlap quite a bit, since both sites are offshoots of theOtaku.com. I have a myO account, although it hasn't been used very much recently. I'm kind of a slacker that way.

When myOtaku started back whenever it did (Okay, I checked?July 2003), it seemed like almost all of the new bloggers were members of OtakuBoards. That changed really fast, though. myO is quite the beast now: 400,000 registered members to OB's 25,000.

Incidently, people who keep their myO and OB accounts connected (not everyone does) do have their myO linked in their postbit. But, if you're viewing someone's site, and you'd like to see if they have an OtakuBoards account, there is also a way to do that. If the accounts are connected, their sidebar will have a link to their OB profile. My page is an example. (My profile is still linked as the word "Lore," which was one of my old usernames here.)

So that's another slice of information for you. =]

I have a myOtaku account, but I?m more active here than I am over there. [remembers that she needs to update as it?s almost been two months] I like it though as I enjoy making wallpapers [you have to have a myOtaku account if you want to submit wallpapers and fanart for others to download] and visiting friends, but most of them are members here so I guess it doesn?t really matter.

I started at myOtaku initially, but within a very short time I came over here as I like discussions more than a blog. I suppose the main reason I even bother is one the people are really nice and two, I like having a page devoted to cute pictures of my dog, or at least with a theme surrounding her. ^_~
You missed.
Cripes!

I'm sure it happens to the best of us. :animeswea

And actually, since some decent-level responses are coming out of it, I'm gonna leave it open. I meant for that to happen. Yeah.

Well since being a member of one does not require membership of the other, I?m sure there are members out there who are not a part of both. In fact, considering how many members there are at myOtaku it?s kind of obvious that not everyone has both. I know members who only have a myOtaku account and ones that only have an OtakuBoards account.

I actually signed up for both on the same day. Primarily because when someone mentioned it to me I mistook myOtaku for the forum and only once I had signed up did I realize it was not only not the same but I didn?t even need to sign up for the other one. I didn?t even use it much until I had been a member for a while.

Now even though I don?t update my myOtaku page as regularly as I would like, I sign into both sites usually every single day. Even when I don?t have moderation duties I like to visit friends sites over at myOtaku, check out the newest submissions, and here at OtakuBoards I like to read all the new posts.

So though you don?t need both, I like having both as it gives me greater contact with what?s going on in the world of anime and among fellow fans. ^_~
